Outstanding!

Everyone that works there are so friendly and accommodating. Grounds are kept extremely well and clean. Best beach I have ever been on. Best food in Cuba. Rooms were very clean. So many return patrons that we met. Definitely going back again next year.

Wonderful people make the vacation!!!

A beautiful resort on Cayo Coco. The staff at the resort made this holiday over New Years extra special. A smaller resort with well kept grounds and a focus on service . We were made to feel welcome and valued by the extra effort the staff team made to know our preferences and attend to them. The Cuban restaurant is a must and the attentive service by Eliecer made us keep returning. Yandy at the outdoor bars made days at the pool and beach extra special with mojitos and rum Collins. Value resort

The resort is showing a bit of age but overall I could overlook the shortcomings (food was typical Cuba , somewhat bland, but there was always something you could find in the buffet, some of the repairs done to tiles etc were not professionally done, I didn’t like having to race down to the beach area at 6:30 am in order to reserve some loungers and space on the beach and other minor issues but my priorities were : Economy(done) nice beach (awesome) a place to sleep and shower(acceptable) we [... read more]ather (was perfect) good service (very friendly) over all I was happy with the experience it met expectations and was good value for the money.

Absolutely Wonderful Resort

This is our fourth time at this resort. We love it there. The staff have always been friendly and very accommodating. It's just the right size where you don't have lineups everything is a short walk away.. The rooms are a good size as are the beds (starting to get worn, a little hard and flat pillows). The buffet has a good selection of food choices. We love the omelet station at breakfast and the bread is always fresh to make toast or just to eat like that with butter. It's way to strong now but the lobby bar can make you a nice cappuccino. As a matter of fact I think the best drinks are the lobby bar and beach bar. The pool is a good size and very nice. A few spots with tiles missing here and there. The snack shack has good Poutine and the pizza station just before the boardwalk to the beach is fantastic. There's entertainment during the day in the lobby and they have shows every evening at 9:30 in the theater. The bathrooms are okay but the one in the lobby area can become quite smelly as they are used the most. The beach is just beautiful it's our favorite spot. Plenty of space, not over crowded at all. Plenty of little huts and chairs as well. They had deep fried fish plates with rice and mussels every day and sometimes fresh made Churros. The gardens and trees are very well kept. We got to have a late 4:00 checkout for being repeat vacationers and we will be going back there again next year.

Decent overall

Bathrooms were not kept up, often dirty, toilets plugged. Staff was overall friendly and helpful. I misplaced my phone and a staff member turned it in and I was very greatfull! It would have been nice to have beer in cans to take to beach and such which was not available at bars. Entertainment was very good with non-stop shows.

Hotel Playa Paraiso

This resort was fantastic and in a very good location, food was good, employees were very helpful with anything you needed, the rooms were very clean. Beach was nice and blue, would definately go back to this resort. I think the best thing i liked was this resort was only a 15 minute ride from the airport i used to always go to Cayo Santa Maria but do not like the long bus ride.

The worst resort experience so far

Ok, you can't expect perfection in Cuba resort, 4 stars or not. This metal tube in bathroom, that falls down and hit your back, toilets, that are clogged all the time... And cards for the door - We have to reprogram them every day! "Don't place them near your cells phone!" We didn't placed near cellphones, near computer, near tv, near cooler :) - still needs to be replaced every 24 hours. "You know - they are magnetic!" My explanation that all hundreds of hotels, that I have visited use the same [... read more] magnetic keys, but works properly, - no this argument never works. When weather is not good, there is nothing to do - if you expect club with ping pong or billiard tables - nothing! You can only entertain you with paid internet in main hotel lobby - you don't have it in rooms. And this 'representative' - shows one time at the beginning. I've ordered my excursion through other guys. Kind of dissapointment

Playa paraiso paradise

Our favorite Cuba Resort

This was our 2nd visit to this resort and the first time we've repeated a resort. We love that this place is smaller so everything including the beach is within an 8 minute walk. The food is good, the grounds are kept very clean, and the entertainment is fun. The very best part of this resort is the staff. They are so friendly, treat you like family and go above and beyond for you anywhere they can. We will definitely be back.

Great resort

A wonderful family vacation. Lots of variety at the buffet fir all meals. Great food also at the beach and ala carte restaurants. Beautiful beach! Fun entertainment and friendly, helpful staff. Rooms and property clean and well maintained.

Great holiday!

We have just returned from a wonderful family vacation at this resort. Great service, friendly staff. The food at the buffet and the Italian and Cuban a la carte restaurants were excellent. Pizza, fish and paella at the beach were also excellent. The shows were great - wonderful, skilled dancers! Lots of activities for kids and adults at the beach and poolside.

Fabulous vacation

We have just returned from a wonderful family vacation at this resort. Great service, friendly staff. Very clean and well kept. Enjoyed the food at the buffet and the Italian and Cuban a la carte restaurants. Pizza, fish and paella at the beach also excellent. Fun and talented entertainers. Great Resort!

Rooms: Were very clean and in good condition. It was nice to have an iron & ironing board in the room as well. The bathroom has a clothes line in the shower. We packed clothes pins and were able to hang up our swim wear to dry. Activities: Lots of activities to keep you busy poolside, if that's what you like. It's shallow for a great while, so great for wading or if you have little ones who a [... read more]re not great swimmers. One of the main reasons we will return to this beach was the beauty and abundance of fish. Food: You will not starve; there is always something to eat even for the pickiest of eaters. This was the most lean I have experienced in Cuba Sadly, it was repetitive in the buffet, but the al a cartes were lovely. The country was experiencing shortages so it was understandable. NOTE: Bring your own snacks (chips, chocolates, etc.) from home. Entertainment: The team work very hard to deliver wonderful dance shows each evening. We enjoyed them. One evening a rock group, Dharma, plays and they were very entertaining. The NOT SO GOOD: Check in: Unfortunately the check in time is 4PM. We arrived much earlier than that. Although we had our wristbands to enjoy the facility, we stayed in the lobby with out luggage. The 4 PM check in does not apply to everyone. I became frustrated when two tour busses behind us received the VIP treatment. They were greeted with dancers and cool beverages. They checked in and were immediately transported to their rooms with their luggage. My complaints fell on deaf ears and I was required to wait. The Room: The room was lovely and clean. Unfortunately there was only one king sized bed. I was travelling with my daughter and did not wish to share a bed. I went to reception to ask for a room change. I was advised that the hotel was at capacity and they had no other rooms until 9 AM check out the following morning. I asked if I could have some additional sheets, and blankets so that I may sleep on the couch. They advised that I would have to speak to customer service. I spoke with customer services who immediately moved a double bed into our room. So the issue was resolved and we remained in the room for our entire stay. Service: First time guests did not receive the same quality of service as returning guests. I felt tipping was required to receive an acceptable level of service. Once you tipped a few times, you were recognized and treated lovely. LOCALS --- It is a public beach. Locals/off duty staff had preferential treatment. They would bypass the long queue, walk to the front of the bar and receive service. Not fair, but since we were on vacation and not in a rush, it was only a minor inconvenience. Pool: Great looking pool & the water was warm… but we had concerns with (our perception of) cleanliness. They did skim the pool frequently, so there was no debris. But we noticed the absence of the smell (and burn) of chlorine. So we were not confident that they were shocking the pool. There were a lot of people at the swim up bar drinking all day and not leaving their seat … we spent the rest of our time at the ocean. Pool chairs --- Sadly, if you were not up before the sun... you were not getting one in the shade. People reserved chairs before 7 AM by clipping their towels to the chairs. No one would be in the pool, but all chairs were spoken for. There was no issue with getting additional chairs put around the pool, but there would be no cover from the sun. So, wake up early, claim your chairs, then head back to your room to finish sleeping before breakfast. Mosquitos: from 6PM - 10:30 AM, they are relentless. There were small no see 'ems to larger ones that could carry a small child away. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE STRONG, QUALITY INSECT REPELLANT WITH DEET. We sprayed our clothing and bodies with (30% DEET) and still managed to get some bites. Our next trip we will invest in Thermacell or "bug clothing". Some guests were not as prepared and you could see the results. They said it was especially bad this year, but the Cayo's are on swamp land so it will always have these guys out when the temp is cooler. OVERALL: All nit picking aside, we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed ourselves. We love the Cuban people and their incredible beaches. We will return & to this resort. Just do some research on how to minimize some of the annoyances and you'll have a great time.

Another amazing stay!

I went for a week (July 29-Aug 4) for a third time since the hotel opened and it was just as great as the previous two times. The hotel has a new name and new management, but the experience was just as good. I took my parents with me this time; it was their first time to Cuba and to an all-inclusive and they loved it! The Entertainment team is great!! There is always something going on. Miguel is at the beach every morning doing volleyball, aquafit, dance. In the afternoon, he and the rest of the entertainment team is at the pool for water games, Zumba, dance lessons. The nightly shows are very good. They are a good mix of music, dance and audience participation. The servers at the buffet were always happy to see us. We always sat in the same area so they servers remembered us. Great service also at the snack bar, lunch buffet and a la carte restaurants. The beach is this hotel is beautiful!! Definitely the best beach from the 3 hotels on that beach. We will be returning!

Resort was good

Good and clean, lacking ventilators in the washrooms ,therefore has a lots of molds. We ask for another room and got less moldy. People are great especially Yamina ,waitress in the lobby. Excellent with a children she is and have a million dollars smile,makes you welcome.Wish gift shop has a more chooses to buy ,like candys,chocolates, clothes...Food was tasty ,less options but tasty. I would say that this hotel is 3 and a half star hotel.

Wonderful time. Great resort

Stayed here may 1-8. Resort was very nice. Food was as Cuban food is, not bad. The people really made the resort, especially Yidsy and Jennifer in the lobby bar. They greeted us every morning with drinks and a smile. When you start your day like that everything else is great. The a la carte restaurants were good and the snack bar at the beach great as well.The beach was amazing. Amazing resort and staff!

I just came back from Cayo Coco and had an absolutely fantastic vacation at this resort!!! This was my 4th trip to Cuba and by far the best experience with how clean the grounds, beach, pool area and bathrooms were, as well as how smoothly everything went. They have a lot of personnel and most of them were extremely warm, and caring. It’s a smaller resort, so no long lines at the buffet or over crowding at the pool, beach or lobby. Great, relaxing vacation!

Just came back from an amazing vacation. This was our first time at the resort. I came there with mom and 2 kids (10 year old and 8 year old) All of us enjoyed every day there. Excellent vacation

Although I may not have chose to stay here (I won a radio contest), I was happy to be a guest. The staff was attentive and friendly, the pool outstanding, and the beach incredible. The food, while not that impressive, was plentiful and well-prepared. The rooms are a bit dated and need some work, but the cleaning staff did a great job keeping things tidy.

Quaint resort

When booking this resort, I did so based on all the amazing reviews I had read. I was looking for a smaller resort, with the hopes of great service, rooms, etc. While some of the staff were fantastic, the vast majority were not friendly in any way. We literally had to fight for one bottle of water a day, which apparently is what each room is Allocated. This is for 4 people....and when I say fight, I mean customer service, front desk, maid etc etc This is a bare bones resort that is in need of [... read more] repair. If you are looking for five star service, this is not the place to go.
