PERFECTO!!!!

The entire holiday was amazing. The resort itself (Hideaway adults only!!) was so clean, well maintained, excellent staff, the food was off the hook, the weather was great. I cannot say enough nice things about it. I would definitely go back and have told many people about it!!!!

Not royalton quality

Beach was what we went for....it was very seaweed filled...although they tried cleaning the beach with one small dozer working all day long, they beach never cleared of seaweed and the water was always murky....very disappointing.... Rooms were okay...our bathroom sliding door was broke and wouldn't close, the balcony deck jaccuzi filled the water with black flecks coming out of all the jets.... Most workers expected tips for any assistance they gave you... Although the resort warned that bea [... read more]ch chairs could not be held and your belongings would be removed if unoccupied for an hour, this did not apply to people who paid off the workers to hold their loungers, in one case 10 beach loungers were held for a group of 20 year olds until after noon when they finally showed up...leaving other guests without loungers... Resort stores were ok but a bit pricey... We were asked to move from two different bar area chairs because we were not ordering drinks.... And when we sat in a beach cabana bed we were told we had to pay 50.00 if we wanted to sit there...which was fine if that's the policy, but people who sat in them after we moved, were not told to leave them. Food was average though the workers were nice. Take your own steak sauce, they don't have any. Entertainment was not as good as other places we have vacationed...no Michael Jackson, karaoke, water showsetc. They also told us to put our umbrella down on the beach due to the Wind one day...but other people In the next section down could leave theirs up..,and it was very hot.... Also the entertainment crew only catered to the pool area...they never came to the beach to let us know when things were going to happen like trivia, yoga, pool volleyball etc. We only saw a member from the team when he came to the beach to get people to play beach volleyball... I do not believe we will return to this resort....

Good resort but..

The hotel itself was beautiful. Good food (most restaurants) nice pools, the adults only hideaway section was the best area for us. The beach was full of sea weed and wasn’t the nice blue water. This was by far the busiest resort I’ve ever been too. Good and bad thing. So many kids and teenagers running around. It sucks cause the adults only section is so small and the resort itself is so big so you want/ need to leave the adults only section. Again good for the resort, a con for adults. The [... read more] entertainment was great! Both the adults only section and the regular sections entertainment was always good and different. The dorado was the best restaurant with the best food, in the adults only section! Would recommend. We ate there 3/7 nights. Buffets were awesome for breakfast lunch and dinner. A huge selection. Con: was always PACKED!! Like lineups. The hunter was another awesome steak house. Great food!! Service was great everywhere. The staff was super nice and always helpful! Overall would rate it 4/5. It is expensive though, on the higher end of Mexico stays.

Amazing Resort! If you're looking for good food and Beach this is your spot!

We were skeptical to book because the pictures looked absolutely amazing, but sometimes things are different when you get there. I must say we were not disappointed! The service, food, Beach and really everything was perfect! We upgraded to a swim out room and I would definitely recommend the upgrade! The food was probably our favorite part of the whole trip! I did think the nightly entertainment should be extended for longer hours, but the other Resort had lots going on after 10 p.m.. The beach massage service is based on tips and they are absolutely amazing and way cheaper than the spa. Tip Victor well and he will cater to your every need! I was disappointed when I saw the spa prices. Vacations are expensive enough and I've never seen Spa prices that High ever! However it did look wonderful, but I doubt they could beat the massage service on the beach! In a way we booked just for the spa, but ended up getting massages everyday on the beach instead and we're just as happy! If you're worried about the beach I was in the same boat reading some of the reviews on here. They have a bobcat that goes all morning taking the seaweed off Resort so don't worry! There beaches are some of the better ones I've seen in Mexico. Sand all the way out and no Coral or rocks to worry about. However with that being said the snorkeling around the resort is a little boring, but their snorkeling Excursion is amazing! I would definitely recommend the catamaran snorkeling Excursion. Is its only $50 and is so much fun and 3 hours long! Definitely worth it. We saw a couple sea turtles, but the crew ahead of us saw a hammerhead shark! So there is lots to see! Another perk I liked about this resort was that Grey Goose was not a top-shelf liquor that you had to pay for. We didn't figure this out until our 5th day so I thought I would mention it on here! Take advantage! All the drinks were amazing! They don't cheap out on anything at this place! I hope this review was helpful. Also, there is construction going on for new resort on the other side of building 1 so I would recommend if you are there to ask to be facing the pool so you don't have to look at it. Although it might be nice to look at the ocean every morning ❤. The swim outs facing the ocean (building 1), and in building two or three are the best ones! We were in building 1 facing the pool and they were a little cold as they didn't get much sun during the day. But I still loved it! So amazing to be able to wake up and go on your patio and dive in! Another bonus is that you are only 10 minutes from the airport!

Great Resort

First time at a 5 star for us. Enjoyed all the amenities. It was busy as it was the US March break so lots of kids on the Royalton side. We spent our days in the Hideway area but enjoyed most of the restaurants. Was difficult to get into the Japanese restaurant. Like the idea of the door 'key' on your bracelet. No worries about carrying around a door key. As per previous reviews, it is a strange way to clean off the weeds from the beach. They use a bobcat. You would think tha [... read more]t the first pass in the morning, they would use some type of rake. We had an ocenview room which faced also the Hideway pool with balcony Jacuzzi. The hot water for the Jacuzzi was very slow. Also no instructions on how to plug the drain. After a while, found a lever behind a panel on the Jacuzzi. Trip back home which was via Sunwing was delayed 1 hour.

Fabulous resort

Fabulous resort. We were well received at the hotel no problems. The only thing that was negative is trying to find the right line to catch the plane. Not organized at the airport or signs and people from sunwing were not available. My ride to the airport was 45 min late because we were waiting for one more couple that finally never showed up in the end leaving us 2 min to spare before hoping on the plane then they changed the gate to upstairs instead of down so we ran and made it at the last mi [... read more]n. FANTASTIC RESORT

Grounds were beautiful, Entertainment awesome, choice for food restaurants was amazing, although very busy and long waits for tables. Priority given to the Diamond Club. Many people not in that club were not happy . Beach was OK not wonderful, seaweed along shoreline. water was a bit murky and rough Rooms were amazingly modern , clean and well equipped. Excellent Resort

We were very happy with this resort. Lots of entertainment and lots of restaurant choices. It was nice to be able to have breakfast and lunch in the restaurants if you didn't feel like the buffet. We loved that on the most part reservations were not required at most of the a la cartes....it was first come first serve and we did not have to wait long at all. They did clean it daily but lots of seaweed was still floating in the water (out of their control). Overall this was a fantastic vacation with great service, food and drinks. Great resort - Royalton fit program gets an A+

This resort delivers on all levels, accessiblility, greening and mostly non smoking with the accept ion of designated areas. Very friendly service oriented staff - that just want to please - restaurants that I tried were Zen (Asian) Hunter (steak) Agave (Mexican) all very good! Moreover the Royalton fit program was an added bonus and the reason we chose this resort - wanting to maintain our routines we really wanted a well rounded fitness experience, boot camp classes, kickboxing, and spin clas [... read more]ses were my go too along with the sunrise yoga - which is worth the 7:00 am wake up! They also have cross fit and cardio an classes for those who are interested. Trainers Isis, Ariel and Francesco deserve s shot out - they push with a smile! Our room was comfortable and modern - shout out to Margarita who took good care of us and our room - I will definitely return - For those who walk the beach note - there is a lot of sea grass on the beach which hinders walking during high tide time - best walks are between 10 and 2

Overall ok but....!

Basics of food, entertainment, service, and room were pretty good. Beach is covered in seaweed and staff could not come close to keeping up its removal. Water is churned and brown ....we did not enter the sea....we just walked the seaweed beach. Giant resort being built next door...at the concrete pouring stage. Royalton owns and promotes a "diamond club". It is sort of a timeshare and there is sales pressure throughout the resort. We went to nexus to book an excursion and there was a roy [... read more]alton rep right outside offering the same excurrsion for $100 less...if we went on a timeshare promotion. Another employee told me the house wine "tasted like shit" when trying to sell a wine upgrade package. Could not get a glass of wine on room service. You must carry your own up in a cup from a bar. Booking a dinner reservation at the Japanese restaurant was a joke. Must be same day starting at 3 pm. It was lined up and full by 3:06. Complete waste of time. Butlers are salespersons and cant help with reservations or much else. Clearly, these were annoyances to me but we still had a good time and ate well

Our 2nd Stay

Resort is still excellent 2 years after our last visit. We had a very noisy room on the 3rd floor which had a lot of late night traffic, drunks,carts,etc. We asked the Diamond Club if we could pay to change room and there were no available options. Our Butler Everisto was the best we have had. Food options were first class.

Great vacation

It is a beautiful resort. We appreciated the adult only setting. Would have liked to have more adult only restaurants. Service in restaurants and at the pool was excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Great Vacation!

The Royalton Hideaway Cancun was great! The adults only section was great and you could get everything you need without mixing with all the families on the other side of the resort. The room, the restaurants, the shows and the STAFF were awesome. I don't think I got up for a drink once! The ONLY downside to this resort is the beach. Although long and had beautiful white sand, there was a ton of seaweed and the first 10-20 feet into the water it was very murky. Overall Good Stay

We enjoyed our week stay. 1. Very nice employees . 2. When reaching out with concerns we always received a follow up call to the room. 3. Food was very good , plentiful and well presented 4. Beach front was a 7/10. 5. We would say a 4.5 / 5 stars 6. Resort is starting to show age.

Hideaway at Christmas 2nd time around!

This is for sure one of our most favourite resorts to go to! You are treated so kind and the staff and everyone go out of their way to make you feel like you are home! We had a bit of a hiccup on last day but they rectified that situation within a half hour and we were well on our way to enjoying our last day and night there with a few extra perks. The entertainment was a bit different than last year but just as great!. The food all was wonderful with the exception of one disappointment at [... read more] an ala carte but in reality wasn't the food but delay with service but not bad enough to ruin trip by no means. We felt bad as we always tip and didn't that particular night. Last year that had been one of our favourites. Sure it will be again. Christmas eve dinner was very nice at the Dorado. Want to give a shoutout to Mauricio and Lilianne who took very good care of us at the pool . We always had towels and a great spot we happened to like at the pool. At the buffet some of our favourites was Ivan, and Alberto and Sergio. Some our favourite bartenders and bar staff was Joel, Henry, Gwendy and of course George. They all were great ! Just need to start writing down all the names so can make sure each one gets recognized. Even on arrival I think Adrien or Adriana checked us in and was very helpful and gave us a wonderful room and our friends who accompanied us and it was there 1st time. Cant wait to go back again....maybe next Christmas and we have a few more to maybe take next time. Love it there at the Hideaway!!

BEST EVER!

By Far best service we have ever had. Great entertainment, great food, super comfortable beds, great friendly staff! We stayed at the Hideaway and can't wait to go back ! Pools everywhere you turn and bars everywhere as well, top shelf brands of alcohol too... Love this place :)

Had a great time

Amenities, food and drink selection, and cleanliness was great. Staff was welcoming. However, daily room up keep or room service was lacking or very slow. Would visit again easily, one word of advice the beach was not the best for swimming.

Loved the atmosphere and people - Not Celiac friendly.

Overall we really liked the resort! They have extremely friendly staff, Eric and Ximena were very accommodating. If we had any issues with the rooms, they were eager to help us immediately. The resort had a good gym with a great schedule (for those who like to stay active). I took tennis lessons with Christian and they were AMAZING - he was an incredible coach. The service on the pool deck was prompt and very friendly. For the entire NINE days that we were there, we never felt like we needed [... read more] to leave the resort - there were tons of things to do. We upgraded our room from the lagoon view (it was stinky and gross) to the ocean view (which is facing the pool, not the ocean) - we loved the rooms here - they did not feel dirty and they were very modern. The spa was beautiful - it was over-priced, but we really enjoyed our massages and the whole experience. BUT there is one reason why we won't return... 1.) I am a celiac and we chose this resort based on the high reviews for the food. They ask if you have allergies at every restaurant, but as soon as you say yes, you see their face drop...I was very limited on options because the staff hadn't been educated on Gluten/Gluten-Free options. One night we had a romantic 5-course lobster dinner on the beach, 3/5 of the courses the server put in front of me had gluten. I had to ask multiple times for them to check and the server assured me it was gluten-free... then the chef came out and was appalled that I had a puff pastry in front of me. Needless to say, I was sick the whole trip :(

Great resort

stayed in HIdeaway. Good service good drinks and good food. Entertainment was excellent during day by pool and at night with great shows. Nice room although construction is next door the doors kept out the noise. Room service a bit slow but then it is a big resort. Premium drinks never ran out unlike many resorts where they are limited. Best Service I have EVER had!

I booked The Royalton - Adults Section for a quick 4 day vacation. I wish it was longer! We booked the terrace jacuzzi suite - recommend for a couples vacation. It was a quiet secluded area. If your looking to people watch from your balcony perhaps do not pick the terrace jacuzzi suites. Regardless the room was beautiful! Comfortable beds, pillows etc. Towels always replaced, turn down service. We ordered room service one night after a day trip - excellent. Breakfast buffet was my fav! Also atte [... read more]nded the steakhouse a la carte and Tex Mex a la carte. Antonio was simply delightful! Persuaded me to order what ever I wanted because I couldn't make up my mind. I must admit I have NEVER been asked every 10 minutes laying poolside if I wanted a drink or snacks. Top notch service (Adult area). Towels were removed from loungers that were not being used. Which was nice leaving chairs available for others. I would 100% go back to this resort. If you are a "beach" person, I would not recommend. That area of Mayan has very sea weedy beaches. Again, having said that - I would still go back in a heart beat. Recommendation to the hotel: Map of the resort add hours of restaurants AND what food is served at the a la cartes (place brackets with Steak house or Mexican) rather than just the name of the restaurant. Wish I stayed for a week!
