Great beach/friendly staff

The overall resort was nice but a little TLC and repairs are needed. Chipped tiles in the pool, peeling paint (normal wear and tear items). The food was good - we were always able to find something to eat and the staff were so kind. The beach was the best we’ve been to in Cuba - soft white sand, clean and calm crystal water. Our room was well cared for and cleaned daily, we requested a king bed (as a married couple) but received 2 doubles - not ideal. Great big shower in bathroom. The only negative was that some areas/bars/food were advertised as 24 hrs but it was not and staff didn’t seem to care (despite it being listed on all of their paperwork). Not a lot of children (we had a baby with us) which was ok for us and not a place for young adults to party. More of a relaxing vacation spot.

Good experience!

An overall good experience. The resort staff is amazing. The plus wad the internet available in the room( 7 hours included) Make internet included! But I recommend for the resort management to take bold action toward maintenance. For now is good( the room are for example excellent) but without maintenance in two years this hotel could became two star hotel. The food was very good( but repetitive 80%)

Great vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. Amazing beach, good pool, friendly staff and fantastic coffee. We loved being able to eat at the al a cartes every night because it kept the buffet from getting too repetitive.

Good value, fabulous beach

The beach is nice, 2km of fine sand and ocean bottom is clean compact sand, no seaweed, no rocks. We had no problem finding lounge chairs each day at various times. The room is not 4 star but a/c worked superbly to the exact 22degC we wanted, the shower stall is spacious with strong hot water perfect for a clean up after an ocean swim. Leidy was great serving us espresso or cappuccino at breakfast time. There are meat grill station, pasta station and stir fry station. Mike’s Cafe has the best variety of coffee. We had cappuccino, cappuccino frozen, strawberry smoothie, etc each day. Joel provided excellent service, sending us off with a large bottle of cold water and running back with plastic cups! Lobby bar downstairs is popular with goog selection of drinks. The ping pong table is about to fall apart with tattered net, but we managed to enjoy playing beside the lobby bar one hour twice a day. It is not under the hot sun and wind was seldom a factor. Osvany, a good player played with us everyday. He would surely miss our level of play using our real ping pong bats with real rubber, unlike the bare bats and 1star ball. Ala carte restaurants which we went 5 times are substandard by Cuban standards, no buns, minimal selection. My best choice was spicy goat in Compay Cuban restaurant.

Awesome Resort!

Everything in the Hotel is excellent and superb. No brown outs,water shortages etc. Everything is just managed very well and supervised.As compared to one hotel there in that area,people were complaining because of brown outs and water shortages and the cleanliness but Ocean CASA is just Awesome!

Great Vacation

I went to Cuba with my 17 & 19 year old and stayed at Casa del Mar. We thought it was a great resort. Rooms were nice. Pools were great and the food was good. The service was incredible. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort and be going back again

Good resort

The resort was very nice and the rooms were quite nice. We had a bit of trouble with keys not working and it was around 30-40 mins to get that fixed. Beaches are incredible and the food was alright. Service was good depending on which snack bar you went to.

Great resort

Hotel was beautiful and everything on the resort was, the beach was beautiful and the pools were a fun time. The people were great helped every time I had a problem and the restaurant was awesome and great service. I definitely would come back.

Oceans casa delmar

Hmmm what to say

I should start and say that this isn’t my first time to Cuba, this was our fourth time we’ve stayed in many resorts ranging from three stars to five stars. The resort it’s self was beautiful the people were mostly friendly but there was just certain things that I was not impressed with for one sitting down at the buffet having dinner and staff filling plates of food and sitting at tables not far from us eating well we’re trying to eat supper, was not impressed with the À la carts we we [... read more]nt to the seafood one and was very disappointed our waitress I found to be very rude and when I ordered my meal brought up the wrong meal mistakes happen but when we told her it was the wrong meal proceeded to roll her eyes and walked away, I found a lot that Staff was always on the phones. The best part was the beach the beach bar and the beach grill was the best food, actually was probably the best food we had the entire time there. Rooms were clean but the beds were hard. Pools were Beautiful, The resort to me was a four-star but the food was a three star I know you don’t go to Cuba for the food but it could have been better. I would return to Cuba in a heartbeat but I would not stay at this resort , If you’re someone who likes to go out and look around and do lotta stuff it’s very limited on what you can do you do you have your day trips and excursions but you’re driving further distances to get to them

Excellent Service

This resort had by far the best service I have encountered in Cuba. The buffet was excellent, always had a great assortment of food and the workers bent over backwards to ensure you were happy. A-La-Cartes were all great as well. Rooms were clean and well serviced as well, beach was fantastic. The night band featuring a fiddle player and guitar player was awesome, have never seen this in 10 trips to Cuba. Perfect week!

Just returned from ocean casa Del mar. Travelled with my husband and 15 year old daughter. We had a room close to the pool and close to the walkway to the beach. Staff was wonderful the whole stay. Buffett was good lots of selection out and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely go back!

We ended up staying at the Valentin Perla Blanca and it wasn't as good as last year

All of the public washrooms on the resort including the a la carte restaurants were disgusting and they only had 1 buffet opened and there were always line ups. The food was a hit and miss and they were running out of some food items. No security to be found when drunken ignorant Quebecers wanted to fight the tourist and harass young girls. Did not feel safe at this resort at night in the main lobby. They had a non smoking section but it was taken over by the smokers. The management/staff n [... read more]eed to enforce it as the non smokers have their rights too. We stayed at this resort last year and it was sooooo much better. Apparently they changed management so that explains why this resort is going downhill. We've met other people that went to this resort last year and said the same thing that they were disappointed this year and definitely we all will not be returning back to the Valentin Perla Blanca. We've stayed at various hotels in Cayo Santa Maria, and this was the worse that we've had at a resort. We will definitely be going back to Negril Jamaica or the Mayan Riveria or the Dominican and pay the extra money to go there as it is so worth it.

Very Nice Resort

The hotel is beautiful, nice and clean, and well kept. The staff is very nice especially Roberto and Rafael in the East snack Bar, they are always there with a smile and quick to get you another drink :) Say hi to these amazing guys, they will def take good care of you. The pools and swim up bars are def a good place to relax and also party if your into a good party with the entertainment staff. The beach is somewhat private to the resort which is nice and there is a market a short walk to the e [... read more]ast. lots of chairs and cabanas for people to lounge under. The rooms are very modern with a nice bathroom with full rainfall shower. We had a minor issue with our door cards not working a few times throughout the week but that could happen anywhere so def not anyone’s fault and the front desk staff were quick and happy to help. Overall a very nice resort, this was our second time going and we will def be going back. Well done Ocean team!!!

The best week ever!

My family and i had an amazing week at Ocean Casa Del Mar in Cayo Santa Maria! The hotel was beautiful clean and close to the breathtaking Ocean! The staff were friendly and so helpful! My Family and well definatly return again !

Amazing place, great beach,staff are very nice

Our location was nice as it was close to everything. Our room is facing the ocean, which is a nice view to wake up to. The buffet and bar were easily accessible. Large variety of food. Our first time, dccording to some tourist that we met, Ocean Casa had a luxury place and a great beach to stay. We had a great time.

Nice relaxing week

Grounds well taken care of. Some little things in need of repair such as loose handrails, slow shower drain, our balcony door wouldn’t lock (but we were on third floor). First few days of our week food selection was slim but by the third full day the food got better. Staff were quite friendly and spoke English very well. Beach was absolutely breathtaking.

Ut was decent depending on your luck

The hotel was looked nice. But the rooms were either a hit or a miss. I got lucky. Some guests didnt have a shower or even wifi. The food tasted alright. Some food were cold and the people working the grills dont clean off the grill. The people working the front were useless and Don't trust the young cadeca. He steals a bit for himself. So always ask for a receipt. The servers and bartenders were very nice, playful and fun to chat and joke with.
