My husband and I had a lovely time. Staff are friendly. The resort is spacious with a number of activities to do: tennis, yoga, snorkeling, diving, hiking, walking, and much more . We'll be back!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Wonderful vacation

Enjoyed our visit, rooms clean and everything working as it should. We were in premium building 2 ocean view. Always found something good to eat . Breakfast and often lunch in the premium restaurant was always good, also enjoyed tacos on the beach as well as premium grill. Beach beautiful but eroding on right hand side where premium area, left side more level. Need water shoes to get past shells and rocks as you enter water but after that just sand. Grand Memories Varadero: Rooms at resort are in bad shape

The pool area, beach were amazing. Coffee was garbage, snack bar coffee machine never worked the whole time we were there. Lobby bar was serving coffee in plastic cups. No butter and other supplies at the resort. Towels only on some days.

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely place still after many years

Great week at Memories Jibacoa. The food is very nice with thoughtful presentation. I had the best sleeps in a long time during my stay there. Quiet and comfortable room. There were a few indications of the current difficult situation in Cuba...less live entertainment, bring your own shampoo as it is not supplied. I was travelling with just carry on so neglected to bring that. I would return in a heartbeat. Great staff, great location and great memories. What more could you hope for?

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort Pristine Beaches - Hola! Cuba

We had a great time at the resort. Amazing price we got from trip Central and then it was followed up by a perfectly planned and executed trip. Thanks to trip Central sunwing and Nexus stores and a bigger thanks to Robin, our trip Central rep who helped us to book this vacation package at the last moment. The whole experience from booking right after checking in and checking out was smooth and we were kept well informed by all the travel partners.

Memories Jibacoa: Calm relaxed vacay

The room I had was very quiet, suitable for relaxation, and there was no lack of hot water.. The food is good in the buffet, and the cuisine in 2 of the 3 "reserved restaurants is delicious. There are a good selection of drinks at the bars. All the staff of the resort are very helpful. The weatjer was not good during my stay because of FOUR(!) Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories Varadero did not leave me with good memories

I booked this vacation to travel with my toddler to Varadero mid November 2025. In general, I go to Cuba with realistic expectations given the circumstances surrounding Cuba.I don’t go to Cuba for the hotel or food but for the people and the beautiful beaches. However, I was disappointed overall with this trip for numerous reasons due to my experience and the hotel. Hotel - overall the hotel was nice, the hotel rooms/buildings, beaches and pool area were decently laid out and pretty. The beach [... read more] was beautiful with soft sand and enough beach chairs for everyone. Same goes for the pool area. The hotel itself is run down and needs maintenance and upgrades. Cleanliness - the hotel is dirty and grimy, cleanliness doesn’t seem to be a high priority for the management or employees. From the main common areas to the rooms, there was a certain level of dirtiness that I was not expecting. Our housekeeper did not really clean our room on a daily basis, not sure what she was doing in our room given the floors still seemed unswept, except for taking a small blanket and turning it into a swan. The room was dusty, had cockroaches (which fair I know is a tropical country), and the tables/floors /surfaces were sticky. Staff - I met some friendly and nice staff, however, I was approached by many female employees asking for kids clothing and even my stroller since they could see I was a mom travelling on her own with her toddler girl. I felt uncomfortable being asked for things on a daily basis. I realize the circumstances are different and there’s a level of need by the people of Cuba, but to be asked for my daughters things multiple times a day by multiple people started to become exhausting. Especially our housekeeper who acted like the was entitled to my belongings. She was aggressive and pushy and kept asking for my stroller. At one point I complained about the hot water in our room and she stood by my door while I was coming up the stairs, grabbed my key card and asked multiple times if I’m changing rooms. She went into my room and turned on the sink and bath tub water to prove the water is hot and kept demanding if I’ll change rooms, and went as far as to say you shouldn’t have a problem with the room water since I see you in the pool which is colder. It was just an odd and uncomfortable experience having this person as our room housekeeper. Another couple in the same building complained that this housekeeper and another one who were going through their things and demanded their stuff like their daughters clothes and beach toys, etc. They wouldn’t leave and the hotel guest felt obliged to give them each $20 for them to leave. I did give away some of my things to some nice staff I met but this shouldn’t be expected or requested by the staff. Hygiene - I saw many female staff members going into the washroom and not washing their hands. This was just gross to see, especially for the staff who work in the kitchen and handle our food and cutlery. Overall service - two things to note about overall service of hotel. The first night that we got to the hotel, I got no help. It was midnight, I had an exhausted toddler on my hands and luggage. There was no porter or guest services to help, except for the one for Sanctuary (adults only side) who herded his guests and left. I had to move my child and luggage’s to the check in on my own. Once I checked if, I waited 20 minutes to get assistance with luggage once I requested it. The worse part is that they put me in a room on the third floor. Why would you put someone with a toddler and stroller in room with multiple stairs? We made do since they had no other rooms but my booking was clear I was a single mom with a toddler and would have expected some common sense when assigning rooms. They also put my friend on the third floor who also had toddler. My only saving grace was the last day, as I was lugging my stuff and kid to the front desk, a kind porter from the Sanctuary side saw me and grabbed everything and helped without saying a thing. Gave that kind gentleman a big fat tip because he could see I was struggling and this was a service I was hoping for and expecting throughout the trip. Again, I want to reiterate I don’t expect the first class service or food or new hotels when I go to Cuba. But I do expect cleanliness, decent service and feeling comfortable and I didn’t get much of that on this trip. I’m also not a cheap guest, I leave a decent tip to the housekeeper and tip everyone that get service from, but by the end of the trip was I felt like I was some cash cow for them and couldn’t wait to leave.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Good Value, but Not for Quiet Seekers and Beach Lovers

I stayed here for one week in mid–late November. Personally, this isn’t a resort I would return to, but I can see it suiting many people depending on what you’re looking for. I was hoping for a very quiet, adults-only experience in the Sanctuary area, but the lines between the Sanctuary and the main resort are quite blurred. It is less noisy, but you can still hear the main-side party music, and kids do use what’s technically the Sanctuary portion of the beach. Rooms: Overall, the rooms were [... read more] good quality. I tried two different rooms because I requested a quieter location, and the staff accommodated that. Both rooms had working AC, though it didn’t feel very adjustable in either. The main differences were water and air quality: the ground-floor room had plentiful hot water, while the top-floor room had almost none. The top-floor room also had slightly musty air and a small mold spot in the bathroom. Other than that, both rooms were clean and generally well-maintained. There were no screens on the sliding doors (though upgraded rooms might have them). Bugs were present, especially at night, so depending on how well your AC works, not being able to open the door might matter to you. Food: The food was acceptable. Eggs were always available, and the cooking stations were reliable — tacos, pasta, meat, yogurt, crepes, etc. Fruits and vegetables were in shorter supply, but meat and starches were plentiful. Coffee was good, and the bars seemed to have all the usual staples. Beach and Pools: The beach was on the dirtier/rockier side, with some seaweed and sargassum. Still swimmable, but I was glad I brought water shoes. For Cuba, I’d consider it on the lower end, though you can still enjoy lounging in the sun. The pools appeared clean and well kept. Staff: The staff were mostly very kind and did make an effort to accommodate my request for a quieter room. The new area would have likely been quieter under normal circumstances, but there happened to be construction nearby during my stay. I chose not to move rooms again even though they did offer this to me (the process isn’t quick), so I spent more time at the beach and made the best of it. Entertainment: There wasn’t much in terms of live Cuban music or shows. It was mostly recorded music played through the sound system with people dancing. Wildlife: There is a large presence of wild cats on the property. I counted around 20, often in groups, including at the buffet where they meow for food (and many guests feed them). They also sit on chairs in the lobby and dining areas. Some people love this; others, especially those with allergies like me, may not. Overall: If you’re looking for a more affordable Cuban getaway, want sun, drinks, and a livelier atmosphere — and you don’t mind a noisier environment with lots of cats — you’ll probably be fine here. If you’re seeking more tranquility, a better beach, and some Cuban music in the evenings, I’d recommend looking elsewhere and just spending a bit more. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Worst Resort Ever- Not as Advertised - Bad Management

Do Not pay for upgrade to Premium Service. It's the same as a regular customer You received nothing special. Save your money Room showers are installed at 5 feet high so you have to bend to take a shower. No hot water. Shower holder has one screw in it so when water is turned on it sprays everywhere, Beach towels are not exchanged unless you leave them in the room and go to the beach with no towel, come back later and maybe get exchanged towels. At least 3 dogs that belong to staff roam the property. Remained on property after viciously attacking a guest during our stay. Management allows animals around the property. Cats (3) in the buffet dining room area daily. Birds in the dining room pooping on tabled and eating peoples food all week. Soliciting of tips by entertainment staff after every show, walking around with hats soliciting gratuities for middle school caliber shows. Also no actual entertainment show every night. Management not willing to adhere to the basic standards Staff seemed unhappy and disgruntled, lack of smiles and basic politeness. Staff more attentive to their cellphones and co-workers than guests. On a positive note the grounds were nicely kept except when it rained the walkways and other areas were flooded leaving no option but to wade through the dirty water to or from your room

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: quiet homey resort

The staff were amazing. The food was good. Room service great. BUT, there was no hot water for the week that we were there, but we managed and did not find this upsetting. The resort is quiet, and mostly for older people or those wishing to be left alone or be in quiet. The beach is the BEST!!!, anyone who wishes to swim or is afraid of water, should come to Memories Caribe. Caribe has good tennis and basketball courts, it does not have racquets for tennis or pickleball. Bingo would be a good game to offer the vacationers. Memories Flamenco has more life and vibrance, but the entry into the water because the first 5 feet into the sea at Memories Flamenco has lots of broken shells, otherwise the beach and water is perfect (people with lower body disability may just need a few extra seconds to cautiously step over this area. I wish the people of Cuba a quick recovery in the recovery following Hurricane Melissa. The staff at the resorts will appreciate everything that you donate to them, including your dollars.

Grounds were clean Beach was amazing and my room was top of the line. Great view and close to all ammenities. Am already planning my trip back for in December with the rest of the family as well

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Friendly Staff Made the Trip — Just Needs a Little Refresh

We recently stayed at the Sanctuary and had a really nice short getaway. The staff were great — some went out of their way to be extra helpful and friendly, which made a big difference. We happened to visit during a quiet time, which we enjoyed. The food was good, and overall the team was attentive and pleasant throughout our stay. It was a short trip for us, but just the right amount of time to relax and recharge. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Nice escape

The sanctuary is a nice quite spot .the rooms are very poor for an upgraded area. The food was good . The staff are good and vibe is chill. The beach and beach walks are beautiful. The sanctuary was a great price for November . But goes 800 more in high season and isn't worth that .

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This was our second time staying at Caribe and again it met all of our expectations. The problem we had was with Trip Central itself. As we booked thru Trip Central with knowing about the merger between Sunwing and Westjet we did not think that we would have encountered the problems that did. Unable to prebook our seats was an issue and the Trip Central Susan Snider was not at all helpful with us being able to do this. She was notified upfront when speaking to her and emailing her to [... read more] our preference in seating due to some disabilities that I have. She did not follow up with any emails I sent with regards to this as well as the follow up phone calls my husband made to her. Cannot remember what the date was but I was in the online portal for Sunwing and discovered that the seats were finally available to purchase, so I did this on my own. Other than not receiving follow up help from the Susan Snider our vacation was great.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful Grounds

Beautiful Grounds and beach. Facilities could use updating. Food was average for Cuba. Workers are resort were fantastic. We were there late October, the resort was half empty - no line up's anywhere. Misqkitoes were heavy in the evenings.

Memories Jibacoa: Breathtaking Views!

My husband and I needed a break from our hectic lives and some much-needed quiet time together, and this resort was exactly what we needed. The mountain views were absolutely breathtaking, whether we were sitting on our balcony, swimming in the beautiful ocean, or relaxing by the pool with music, the scenery never disappointed. The resort itself was peaceful, and there was entertainment every night. As most people know, you don’t go to Cuba for the food, but it was perfectly fine. The only minor downsides were no fries (very disappointing, lol) and no 24-hour snack bar. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Terrible

Unfortunately the room at Sanctuary Grand Memories was one of the worst I’ve stayed at. The room has a musty smell and the whole room was always damp. One wall was so wet, it kept forming puddles on the floor. Floor was always damp and slippery and always seem to have a greasy film on it making it always slippery. Pool was closed a few days because of some biting insects in the pool, and, unless the employees got up at the break of dawn to clean the pool in the premium section, I never witnessed anyone cleaning the pools

HOTEL IS NEW, FOOD REALLY GOOD FOR CUBA. CORRIDORS, WAlKWAYS SLIPPERY. BEACH IS NICE. WATER WARM IN OCTOBER. WATER IS NOT TO CLEAR, ROCKS IN WATER. SWIMMING POOLS ARE GREAT. STAFF IS GREAT ESPECIALLY MELISSA.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort

Beautiful Beach, grounds, huge pool, helpful staff, buildings in good repair and every amenity close by, the perfect location for some R&R. Very good food selection, excellent service; I really couldn't have asked for anything more or better. I spent most of my stay right here at Sanctuary, but all of Grand Memories was available to me. Only about a five minute walk, but the shuttle was nice.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Bug Off

Awesome time at Memories Caribe well established resort with mature palm trees on the grounds and beach front. Trip was mid October and we only really had one rainy overcast day. But the standing water after the rain and the water features around the resort made a perfect mosquito / no see um breeding ground which made bug spray our friend. Food at the resort I thought was good for Cuba comparison but all the staff and workers are what make this place shine. Oh and the beach front if you like sandy shoreline water you can walkout 300-400 meters out in the water and walkable sand shores you will fall in love with this resort. After a week I had to come home as my tan was making me look like a local. Cuba isn't for everyone but if you like Cuba you should enjoy Caribe. Cheers!
