Very nice Hotel

Found this hotel very compact in size, which we liked. Beds are Hard! Very clean in all areas of resort. Restaurants were very good, however, A/C was too cold. Too few Washrooms on resort & located too far away from restaurants & Bars!!! Planes from airport are noisy!

Great location and friendly staff.

We stayed a week at this Riu which is consistent with their quality and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly with energetic entertainment staff which appeared to have very long days but kept going like an energy bunny. String Bean was certainly a stand out and I honestly don't know how that guy kept going and going and going..... No matter if you want to just sit around or get active, there was something to do at the resort, albeit a little smaller than some that I've been to. We did have access to the other Riu but didn't spend much time there as we enjoyed our location a little more, maybe because there weren't kids running around... lol Jamaica is a good destination and would certainly return to the island. Over all, above average vacation...

Amazing resort!

Above and beyond our expectations. Grounds were kept impeccable each day all staff was so friendly from bar staff to the cleaners to the grounds maintenance. Entertainment staff was friendly and each morning they went around the entire resort to say good morning to everyone. It was a nice touch! Buffet was awesome for every meal. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Good resort

We thought the hotel was very clean, rooms were nice a d clean. Long walks back and forth to room if you weren't on 1st floor.no coffee maker in rooms just booze. Entertainment was very good as was food. Overall not a bad hotel

Great Resort

This was a girlfriend week. Right from the start check in was easy and fast.. We both have trouble walking that is why we chose this hotel. Everything was close restaurants, bars, pool, beach.The entertainment staff are fabulous they worked from morning to night to make sure everyone was happy. All staff are great to many to mention . Wonderful Experience

We had an amazing time. The food was fantastic the entertainment staff was incredible. Everyone so friendly and helpful. We would definitely be back. Loved everything. Our flight was good as well. Was all good

Best vacation ever!

The resort itself is beautiful - the rooms are clean and modern, and I liked that the resort is small so everything is in close proximity. We had a "garden view" room, which was actually just a view of a roof and wall, but as someone who spends as little time in the room as possible, this didn't bother me at all. As a non-smoker, I also liked that there were designated smoking areas and you weren't surrounded by smoke constantly throughout the day. Despite what some reviews have said, we had [... read more] no problems with security or things going missing - I left my phone and money sitting at my lounge chair most of the day while I was in the pool or on the beach and at no point was I worried they would go missing. I also found it safe outside the resort - yes, there are drug dealers standing out there, but they don't bother you or try to force you to buy anything if you tell them you're not interested. The food was really good - always something to find at the buffet, and I enjoyed that they always had a Jamaican section at the buffet - so if you missed out on the amazing jerk chicken on the beach, you could still get something authentic at the buffet. We tried all of the restaurants and enjoyed them all. The nightclub on the Montego Bay side was a lot of fun - we went there a few times when we stayed on the resort at night (other nights were spent at Pier 1 and Margaritaville) … unlike the "disco" at most all-inclusive resorts, this one was actually packed every night with people dancing and having a great time. But all other great things aside, what really makes the resort is the AMAZING staff who work tirelessly to ensure that everyone is having a great time. The entertainment staff come around at 10 a.m. every day to say good morning to every guest, get people involved in playing games, and can always be seen walking around chatting with everyone. In the afternoon they're back for more fun at the pool, and then back again at night to put on an amazing show - they're all incredible performers and I was mesmerized watching them every night. A MASSIVE shout out to T-Rex (thanks for teaching me how to play dominos, and for putting up with our ridiculously horrible horseshoe skills haha), Sonic, Short Boss, Shampoo, Bru, Hollywood, and of course String Bean (first name String, last name Bean! … he has the most infectious smile and his energy is something else!) who kept us entertained all day and all night. The bar staff Vaughns, Crystal and Shaquille who kept the energy up and drinks flowing all day, and Chevoy and Stainton at night - I never had a problem getting a drink, and they always remembered my order and had them ready to go when they saw me coming. I have been to a lot of all-inclusive resorts, and have never experienced a group of people more dedicated to making sure that every single guest is having the best time possible. We had planned to go on some excursions, but were having so much fun on the resort that we didn't want to leave - the staff made the vacation for me and I can't wait to come back to see them all again soon! If you're deciding whether to stay here or not, please do - you will not regret it!!

Enjoyable !

We really loved the beach, the resort was very small and got a little boring but the entertainment staff were awesome. Friendly staff all around, would have loved to see some pool tables in a sports bar like some of the other Riu’s. I won’t be returning to Jamaica due to the high costs of everything, everything was in American dollar and we are Canadian and Jamaicans don’t want Canadian money, got too expensive.

Amazing Resort

I have been to the RIU Reggae three times now. The food is amazing,the beach is great and the resort is very clean. I cannot say enough about how friendly the staff is and how helpful they are. The entertainment staff goes above and beyond... they are extremely talented and really connect with the guests. The gym facilities are also great. Can’t wait to go back.

Loved it!

An overall amazing experience. And I will be visiting again soon. I can’t think of any negative feedback. Service, drinks, people, food...loved everything. Jamaica I love you, and I’ll see you again. Yeah man!

Amazing resort!

This hotel was the best one I’ve stayed at in Jamaica so far. The hotel was kept very clean in all areas including the rooms, public areas and restaurants. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Food at the buffet was great!! Good variety everyday, with lots of flavourful cuisine. The a la cartel restaurants weren’t the best but since the buffet had such good food, there was no need to go to the other restaurants. The jerk hut on the beach was amazing!! Quite disappointed with my stay!

The resort itself is beautiful enjoyed the pool bar, the ENT crew members and my favourite guy Desmond a waiter for dinner at the Ackee. The part that really ruined it for me is the fact that I left the resort one day to bury my great grandmother and came back to my room to realize that I was unable to get back into my safe. When a front desk employee came up to reset it and get it opened I realized that some money that I had in there was missing! while I was gone I had put the Do Not Disturb si [... read more]gn on my door but despite that being there the cleaning lady and the guy to restock my fridge had entered into the room. That was discovered after the manager did a door reading. The disturbing thing was our room was not even cleaned it was actually very messy as if someone was scrimmaging through it. To make matters worst the security that came to do an investigation told me that I had to walk over to the police station myself if I wanted to file a report. After emailing the head office of Riu resorts, Sunwing and Trip central all I got was an apology. My advice to everyone who visits there is to not put anything in the safe and to keep all your money and valuables with you or secure and locked in your suitcase. Besides that horrible experience my friends and I made the best of the rest of the trip and had a blast. Yes I do recommend the resort but I also recommend that you be on your P's and Q's when leaving he resort for the day because at the end of the day your word means nothing to them because they all look out for each other.

I liked everything about this hotel.. If I had any complaints it would be that there isn't a coffee maker in the rooms or a magnifying mirror in the bathroom.Also the club at Riu Montego Bay is very small for dancing. The 2 pools are very clean and the staff at the pool bars are very friendly. My favorite bartender is Sharon. You have to try a Jamaican smile drink.. The lifeguards are such hard workers. These very hard workers get the pool and pool area perfect for us each morning. The also are ready to help us if we are hurt. Or are ready to save your life if needed. Do me a favor. These hard working lifeguards don't get tips. Make their day and hand them a few dollars. The rooms are always so clean by the terrific cleaning staff.The beds are very comfortable. I can go on and on about Riu Reggie.love it there. Will be going back next year.

Amazing resort

I have zero complaints about my trip. It was my first time in Jamaica and would definitely go back. The people at the resort were super friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent, especially the jerk chicken! The rooms were nice. The hotel was nice and modern. Beach was great. Pools were nice, good times at the swim up bars.

Great Resort

Small adults only resort, great rooms ours had a sofa bed that came in handy as we were three adults in one room. The food options were very good as well as the restaurant choices, will definatley go back one day.

Fun trip

Food was good, beach is not Negril but still very nice. Good entertainment and access to the other riu hotels right beside was great as a friend of mine was at riu Montego Bay. Jerk hut is a must for lunch. New and clean. Good mix of couples and singles from all over the world. Checked reviews before booking and people complained about the airport being right beside but honestly was not a problem, so you hear a plane once in a while who cares you’re in Jamaica mon’, no problem.

DEFINITELY RETURNING TO RIU REGGAE

This resort was amazing. The grounds were kept immaculate. The workers there are friendly, welcoming and very professional. The resort has everything for everyone. either it be relaxing, partying, adventure or all of the above. The Entertainment Crew is what really made the resort what it is! More a 4 star than a 5

I have never written a review before although my husband & I travel once or twice a year to all-inclusive resorts. The resort itself was spotless. The food in the buffet was very good. The a-la-carte restaurants were much the same as the buffet. For the most part you were still serving yourself. The wi-fi was great. The resort is very small and really seems more suited to the 18 to 30 year olds. There was a fire alarm at 11:30 PM. We all congregated in the lobby. There didn't appear to be any  [... read more]management around just the desk clerk . He was on the phone the whole time so there was no one to give any directions. Eventually we were told to go back to our rooms where the fire alarm continued for another 30 minutes before they got it turned off. There did not seem to be any protocols in place for a fire or any other type of emergency. It was the first time in our travels that I didn't feel safe in our resort. I did speak to the Manager the next day. Besides apologizing he was not able to reassure me that that actually do have safety protocols. This is not OK.

Riu doesn’t disappoint

The grounds are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bar staff are the best and can literally make anything! The rooms are clean and spacious. Not a huge resort if that’s what you are looking for. Best feature is 7 mins from airport..at your hotel and on the beach in no time!! No 1..1.5 hr bus ride.

Nice resort

The hotel was well managed. The food was excellent with lots of variety at buffet and the restaurants. Staff were friendly and entertainment was very good. They had activities during day as well. Room was nice and clean, comfortable bed..ask for more pillows. Lots of pool loungers and you could walk the beach to the other two resorts. Took one side trip to Dunn falls and lift up mountain.
