Had a great stay. Room was clean and nice. Everything you expect from the photos. Grounds, pool and beach area all excellent. Few minor cons, elevators suck some don’t go to ground floor and long waits to get one. Buffet is too big and you have to walk thru 3 rooms to see all options.

Really good resort

The hotel was in a good condition and very clean. The staff was friendly . All the al a cart restaurants were good . Very good beach .and nice pools . There are lots of activities to do at the resort .the shows at the theatre were really good .

Awesomeness!!!

I recently stayed at your Hotel (10-20 March). Firstly, Thank You so very Much to Osmary my Maid during that time. I just can’t say enough about her. She is Beautiful …she is Beautiful as a Human ..and has a Beautiful Heart. Walking into my Room and seeing her Special touches made me Smile. She kept my room spotless and I was never in need of anything. Every day she gave me a Warm Greeting and asked if there was anything I needed or if I was having a Good day. I Hope Many more Visitors ar [... read more]e able to Experience the Loveliness that is Osmary. Anyone reading this should ask for Her Specifically…I know I will when I book again ! I was also very Impressed with the Lounge Bar Staff (Check in area) …they always had smiles on their faces and remembered what I ordered. The same goes for the Staff at the 24 Hour Restaurant …I apologize if I get this wrong but I especially want to thank (I’m thinking Blanco ..and his Son) they seemed to always be there and were Awesome! It is obvious that all of these wonderful People have a Genuine Like for one another ! The way they Greeted each other coming and going always warmed my Heart. Special shout out to Whitney (Poolside) who was so Lovely. Friendly and Helpful and also the Young men who set up the Umbrellas. When I went to the Buffet I always sat in the section Closest to the Doors ..the Young Man who Served me was always so Awesome and also always Smiling. Another Beautiful Soul is Lisandra (usually carrying a Clipboard) and always Smiling …Your Smile and Your Manner are a Joy ! I was However Puzzled that small babies in diapers were allowed in the Adult Pools. There is a Lovely Children’s Pool that I noticed remained almost empty for the time I was there. If children are wearing diapers….Obviously they are doing whatever “Business” they have to do whenever and wherever, which should NOT be in the Adult Pool. If the Parents do not know any better then Perhaps the Hotel should enforce this. And besides…putting a tiny baby in diapers in a Pool of Chemicals is not the best idea in the World. Also….if your Child is Screaming for no apparent reason and Bothering all of the people around them that have paid for a relaxing Vacation at least if you are at the Children’s Pool with Other People and their children it is more acceptable. To these same Parents … Check your Children’s diapers!! If Poop is falling out on the Tiles of the Walkway it might be time for a Change! In Closing there is a Very Abrasive, Rude and Obnoxious Person Named Desmarelda that works on the Floor below Osmary. She is the Only Person I experienced this from and I feel like she does Not fit in with all of the Other Lovely People you have Employed. I Hope to Never see Her again. All in all I enjoyed my stay and will come Back again ..Thank You to Everyone !

Nice Resort

The hotel is nice. A few hiccups. Not all the elevators work. Requires a little maintenance for a new property. Food was good. Grounds are clean. Rooms are clean. Comfortable beds. Loved the coffee place ( star cafe). Staff are friendly. The beach is gorgeous. Clear water. Had to fight for shade. As there are not a lot of umbrella for the amount of people the resort holds. Pools area is large.

Definitely not a four or four/half star resort.

Rooms were very clean and cleaning staff were very good.Ceramic tile floors in the halls had many broken ones and were patched with cement.Every second light in hallways were not working and the end of the hallways were dark.Very spooky.Some stairwells had no handrails so you had to hang on to the wall.I have a slight mobility issue which made this dangerous.There were Two elevators at the far end of each hall. Of course where I was there was a broken one. The second elevator worked sometime but [... read more] not always forcing you to walk to the other end of hall and wait.Remember there are approximately 940 rooms. Adult floors are on the top floors.I had a room upgrade and as such, was allowed to eat at the eleventh floor dinning room.The young women at the grill was quite pleasant,always smiling and spoke extremely good English which made us feel at ease. I wish I could remember her name.Management should offer staff some English classes to get by. We are your customers.Food at buffets we’re sub-par.and again many many people squeezing in the same buffet.They offered for example spaghetti where the chef would let you choose the sauce and what you wanted in it.Most times a line up of ten to fifteen people would wait a while to be served as he was the only one doing this.They say towels left unattended on lounge chairs could be confiscated and you could be responsible for a replacement($15.) but I didn’t see anyone removing theses.A large hotel with nine hundred rooms should have more than three hundred lounge chairs.so by all means, get up early and put your towel on a lounge chair and claim your space.The upgrade allowed for swimming in the adult pool but people would go in there anyway.No security seen anywhere made me feel unsafe. As I had stayed at four different iberostar resorts, this one was scrapping at the bottom and I will attempt a stay at another resort.Thank you Bella Vista for opening my eyes.

Iberostar was average

Hotel was very nice but there were several lights that did not work in our room, we were on the ground floor and the sliding door to the balcony did not have a lock (no one would fix it until the next day), every single sheet and pillow was stained, we constantly asked for water to be brought to the room because that was the only way to get it but it never showed up. There were not enough pool or beach loungers for everyone so if you did not get up before 7 to claim one you did not get to hang b [... read more]y the pool. Lots of little things that made this trip not worth the $$!

Conflicted Review but Honest

The design of this Hotel is both beautiful and confusingly silly. There is only one bar by the pool that sadly has only a few seats and tables but more designed for swim up purposes rather than two bars for a building this size (1 for swim up and one with an awning allowing chairs and tables below like most hotels). Surprisingly, the rooms have a bathroom with a large window allowing natural light into the bathroom but also completely negates any privacy what so ever. Not a place to go with a [... read more] friend and share a room! The buffet area requires a line to form for freshly made chicken, seafood, omlets and beef. Sadly, the line can only be up to 5 people long before there was over-congestion. This isn't in any way wise when the hotel is even at half capacity and a lunch/dinner rush approaches. the beach is not as "superb" as that of the areas closer to the city. This isn't a bad thing but another detail I personally see as a big selling feature for the higher cost over places such as Be Live Experience down the street. The staff made up for many of the pitfalls of the hotel and this is truly the reason I go to Cuba so often. the people and their genuine personalities. Although some were young and still learning their positions, they did a great job (besides the quarterbacks at the front desk who repeatedly dropped the ball when you report an issue with your room like a toilet not flushing. Expect it to be repaired within a few hours rather than within the hour as I experienced twice and gave up). Pillows smelled of mold. Replacement pillows were not any better. If you love cold showers, this is your dream hotel! With the location being filled as it was in mid-Feb 2019, warm water was available three of the seven days I was there. This was probably the straw that broke the back of my intention of returning to this location. On a big plus... the food was absolutely divine! The saying goes "You don't gop to cuba for the food" and this hotel shattered that quote completely. The dessert table was some of the best I have ever tasted in my life and tip my hat to the staff for that.

Great family resort

The hotel was visually very attractive.Our rooms were spacious with a beautiful ocean view. The large tub was tricky to get into and took some care to manoeuvre a safe entry and exit. Cleaning service was excellent everyday. The kiddie pools were lovely and great for our 2 year old grandson. The Olympic pools were enjoyed also. Now for food.That was a little disappointing. None of the food was labelled. For myself, with lactose and gluten allergies, it was particularly difficult to choose something to eat that would be safe for me. Buffet personnel had no clue what gluten was. There seemed to be no itinerary in sight for the day’s activities.Booking specialty restaurants was really time consuming as one lady was doing all the bookings for that big hotel all by herself.Sometimes people would wait 1 1/2 or more hours to get a booking.Those restaurants were great and worth the wait.Lastly, the elevators did not work properly the whole week.Only one ever worked. Once again, you had to wait 5-10 mins to get it to do down to the ground floor. It was difficult for people with walkers, canes and suitcases. Overall, the weather made the visit worthwhile. Very Nice Resort

We booked Prestige Swim Out and were not disappointed. We were originally in 10037 however the sun did not hit the pool/room until after 2 pm so we asked to be moved to another room. We were moved to room 10028 which was perfect for location and sun. The hotel, our room, the grounds, beach are very clean and well maintained. The people who work there are very welcoming and accommodating. We are already planning next year for 2 weeks. Others did have issues with hot water and flooding which was not in our building. We have to understand that Cuba does not have the resources of our country and under the circumstances they handled these issues very well using the resources that they had. This was the BEST! we have experienced in Cuba.

Amazing time

we loved staying here! the drinks where amazing and the food was good! i have celiac and i always had alot to eat! the workers were very nice! you could buy hr internet cards for 1.45 canadian or 1 Paso. alot of people we spoke to who had been coming to cuba for years said this was the best resort they stayed at. They has salt peper and ketchup (alot of resorts in cuba dont) . we cant wait to go back to this resort! was truly an amazing time! beautiful beach, and you can walk anywhere safely!

Very nice resort

Very nicely appointed and most had good exposure overlooking beach, well kept and well maintained good housekeeping and very polite staff.mini fridge was refilled everyday and room service was welcome feature at the resort.

Not the best

This resort is big and has nice rooms with on and off hot water available for showers. Elevators are hit or miss, either take a long time to arrive or once you’re in, takes about 15 seconds for doors to close. Wifi cards for one hour of internet are available for one peso. Food is ok but has no taste and waiters in the à la carte restaurants do not speak any english. Activities and nightlife are a big zero. You never know when something is going on so you will probably miss it. You have to go [... read more] into to town at night for dancing or bar with music. Staying at the lobby bar is your only hotel option and unless you like watching bartenders make drinks than it’s pretty boring. This is a good hotel for people who want a quiet vacation to sleep eat and take in the sun. Go to the beach before 9am because they all go put towels to reserve their chairs. Pool area is the same. I would never come back here.

Great Resort, Amazing People and Beautiful Beach!

My boyfriend and I just recently stayed at the Iberostar Bella Vista during the second week of January. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the perfect size! The staff are amazing, all of them are so welcoming and try their hardest to ensure your vacation is as relaxing as possible. The beach is beautiful, water is the perfect colour blue and so clear, the sand perfect white. The drink are sooo good! Enjoyed every drink they made for me. Amazing resort. Best in varadero

The hotel is amazing. Clean.best food ever. And i have been to all the resorts in varadero except the new international. It was so good i am going again in 2 weeks with my gf. The staff is so nice. The barman are amazimg. Cleani ng service is superb.

WONDERFUL

The hotel was beautiful. Very clean. Food was good service was great. Everyone was very helpful. It was a wonderful experience for me as a senior single woman. I felt completely safe. Beautiful pools and grounds. Beach was pristine always someone there whenever I got to beach to pull my lounge around.

Great resort

The resort was great. The rooms and the hotel were very clean. Washrooms always clean, in working order and stocked up with paper towels and toilet paper. A lot of drink selections at the bar. The stuff was amazing!! Very helpful and ready to deliver on any request. Food was delicious and great selection- lobster night was our favourite! Improvement requires

The reason we picked this resort because of it is still fairly new but to our surprise it already start to run down. We had to move our room on the second night because of flooding from underneath the bathtub onto the hallway and created a large pool of water. It wasn’t fun to do that at midnight for two hours packing & unpacking. We checked the area & noticed it was repaired before because of the watermarks on the wall, so obviously it wasn’t repaired properly the last time. Theatre h [... read more]ad to shut one night & the show was moved to outside of the lobby due to flooding in the theatre washrooms. There were six stalls in the ladies room on the lobby & restaurants level but four out of six stalls are always locked so can’t be used. Not sure if the resort is trying to save cleaning time or again drainage problems. Pool towels are out by 11:00 am and had to wait until 3:00 pm. and none by 4:30 pm. Really?? The resort is not even at full capacity, can’t imagine what would be like if it is.

Amazing resort

Very beautiful elegant clean resort. Friendly staff amazing food. Pools are clean. Beautiful landscape and the beach is gorgeous. Not overcrowded and excursions were so much fun. Lots of things to do

Just new

Room is good but food so awful . Nothing to eat . We rented car and buying outside food every dinner From airports less than 30min Good location . We come back Varadero but not this resort . Sorry.

Fun Resort

The Bella Vista is a large hotel, but it is well planned. Our room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was large with a roomy shower. We had splurged on a "swim-out" room, which was well worth the extra expense. The lobby and grounds are breezy and lovely and well-kept. The beach is very close and beautiful. Although we weren't travelling with children, their area looked fun, too. We had access to the top floor for dining, and the view was breathtaking.
