Public washrooms were frequently without toilet paper. -staff has Limited English -Francisco supervisor on Aquamarine resort was very supportive -baby monkeys on neck leashes on beach for tourists to pay for photo was difficult to see. Please don’t support this inhumane act - amazing beach

Looking tired…

Resort tired looking especially the rooms, needs renovating. Pool area looking good as is the Foyer. Food over all not the greatest, especially the Steak House. Buffet was probably the best food. Customer service not as good as it was 4/5 years ago.

Nice resort

We loved that it was Adjlts only. Clean resort. Lots of Al a carte restaurants. They were good and ok. The restaurants were beautiful but the food didn’t coincide Some people really liked the food but it was ok for us. Service was great. Rooms were very clean but dated. They could have used more staff serving around the pool as we always had to get our own drinks at the bar. The bathrooms at the pool only had two stalls in the ladies room for tons of people. Great resort!

We love this resort and will visit again. The flights were great and everything went smoothly in both airports. The rooms are spacious and clean, service is excellent and so is the food. We had a wonderful time.

Excellent resort!

Once again, another wonderful trip! I can’t say enough about the resort, the staff, the food and accommodations. Second time visiting, not to be disappointed, leaving me very much wanting to go back! I have a special diet, which they very much are accommodated with no problem at all. It will now always be my go to place being it gives you everything you could possibly want in a vacation.

Excellent resort

We stayed at the resort from 11/15/23 to 11/22/23, We travel as a family for birthday of our sister. We absolutely loved this resort. The service was excellent, all the staff we dealt with were amazing and accommodating. We ate at number of a la carte restaurants, Italian Portofino, Maiko Japanese, ElOlivo Mediterranean. Entertainment team was excellent, they do their hardest to always make us feel special. Different entertainment every night, enjoyed it very much. Resort very well maintain, grounds kept meticulous. Rooms specious and very well kept by the cleaning staff, fridge always well stocked. Overall we loved the resort & would recommend any time.

Amazin resort! Loved it a lot

An absolute paradise! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and exceptional hospitality, Albenis at the front desk was very helpful. The resort's breathtaking beachfront location made our stay unforgettable. The rooms were immaculate, clean and spacious, offering a Jacuzzi, and stunning views and utmost comfort. The variety of activities and entertainment options catered to every taste, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Everyday there was something to do, or some kind of event like the foam party, karaoke, acrobatics performances, all white party etc. We had the most exceptional service at El Olivo Gourmet Restaurant. At the main buffet Acuario, Fernando made us feel at home and provided unmatched service. The staff were very friendly, polite, and made us feel welcomed. We left feeling rejuvenated and already planning our return. A truly remarkable destination for a dream vacation!

Great time at the resort!

My girlfriend and I spent just about a week at the Bahia Principe Aquamarine along with her parents and I must say that we were quite pleased with our overall experience at the resort. The pool is set-up quite nicely where you can find areas where you can relax a little more, but also you can find a spot near the Pool Bar where things get a little more animated (in a fun way!). Speaking of Pool, the Entertainment was a fun time! The Bar Staff for the most part are not the friendliest I will say. I would often find myself thinking if I said something wrong or if I am being annoying somehow? Perhaps I could have tipped them more so I can get better responses? The Lobby Bar is beautiful and a great hangout spot in the evening if you want to stay close to your hotel room and still want to be entertained. Sports Bar is definitely a fun highlight of our trip. It can get pretty rowdy in the evening which was unexpected! Great pub food, and just a great late night spot to have a few extra drinks before bed. Aquamarine's location makes it a 10 min walk to the beach which is super manageable and accessible. The beach is stunning. I would recommend a morning start at the Beach and then cool off by the pool in the afternoon. The buffet was surprisingly really good! We booked many A la Carte restaurants throughout the week, but we'd often find ourselves going back to the buffet as the service is so quick and the food was delicious! Do not underestimate the buffer. 9/10 recommend to anyone!

It's "okay" .. needs some improvement

It was okay for the most part .. the pool is beautiful and the beach is gorgeous but that's about it. The food at the specialty restaurants was very poor qualify. We ended up cancelling most of our reservations after the first two and ate at the buffet for meals instead. The staff, while friendly, tend to be pretty unprofessional (yelling across restaurants, taking shots with guests at the pool) The rooms are acceptable although they do need quite a bit of work once you look closer. Mold on the [... read more] walls around the AC vent, Our fridge never really got cold and they only had beer, no liquor like in Mexico. We had no cold water the entire time .. hot water only to shower and brush our teeth. Our door lock was broken the entire 10days and would lock us out of our room every single day. We called maintenance, managers, concierge and absolutely no one would help us, they kept saying to come to the lobby to get new cards (the battery in the door handle was weak) ... The pushy vendors and the Privilege Club reps were awful! Very aggressive both on the beach and with the P.C reps constantly hassling you while on holiday. They called our room at 8:05am the 2nd morning we were there, waking us up than again the next morning at the same time .. that time when I said no, they said they'll send someone to our room at 11am. They just won't take no for an answer. The pool DJ would sometimes play easy Caribbean style music which was very nice, but than would play very loud rave music and hwled constantly be yelling in the microphone over the music ... Very difficult to just relax by the pool. We'd go back to the Dominican forsure, but very likely not to this resort. We've been to Grand Bahia resorts before and Mexico is far far better than Punta Cana for food, service, resort and value.

Great value

This was our 3rd stay at the Aquamarine, this trip 11 nights. Resort continues to be well maintained, grounds lovely, room clean , air conditioner works well, shower water a bit on the hot side but managed. The pool is getting a bit tiried, tiles missing, handrails a bit wobbly. Half of the pool chairs were brand new and the other half well used and dirty ( black mold looking ? ) and really should no longer be used. Pool guests and staff got very rowdy in the afternoons it was like a college  [... read more]spring break, some of the activities with the staff and guests were questionable , ie: extreme twerking! During our stay the main pool got closed twice for the day due to guests throwing up in the pool. For this reason only we will re consider staying again at the Aquamarine , I felt bad for the senior guests whom likely only stay at the pool, it was not relaxing .Beach is fabulous, tram and/or walking to the resort gets to be a nuisance. No area close to beach for breakfast . No premium alcohol at any bars any longer, no bathrobes or slippers. The app is great for booking dinners. Restaurants were great , breakfast buffet same each day , could have some variety from day to day as this is the only option for breakfast. No yogurt at the buffet and didn’t care for shared jam and Peanut butter jars! Overall great value for amount paid. Perhaps the time of year will dictate the age group of the guests.

Great Experience

I spent a week with my husband at Aquamarine and we loved our experience! I’ve met many friendly and amazing staff, especially Luciana and Juan! They are the most adorable people ever. The resort is clean, there is always people working so I’ve never felt without assistance in any second. A point to get better is to let guests from the other divisions to get drinks in any bar at Bahía Principe - I had the opportunity to spend some time at the Âmbar pool, but was advised that we couldn’t  [... read more]get any drinks near the pool, unfortunately. To get more drinks we would have to walk to the beach bar or come back to the Aquamarine ( what would take a long time for each or). Also, there was a bit of confusion on where the events were happening at night due to the rain that happened on a couple of days. But is understandable. On the other side, the food was great! The buffet and a la carte were amazing - except for the il olive / Mediterranean restaurante, all other restaurants, including Portofino (Italian), MEAT (amazing crab pie!!), the Japanese restaurant and the Brazilian rodízio… we had a great experience in all of them. Our room was always cleaned and restocked with water, coffee and pop. Thank you for this amazing service and we will be back to the Bahia Principe, For sure!

A GREAT PLACE TO BE

Me and my fiance booked our trip at this resort and for our first time it couldn't have been any better we absolutely loved the drinks the food the hotel was beautiful the room was absolutely amazing and always clean bar fridge was always stalked no complaints at all we highly recommend this beautiful resort we would definitely do this again.

Huge resort with lots to do!

The hotel itself was really nice and in proximity to all you need to enjoy a nice vacation, no matter if it's to party, relax or just taking advantage of the weather. By staying in one of the Bahia Principe resort, you have access to all the other ones as well so there's a loooooot to do: theater, shows, dance clubs, karaoke, sports bars, different restaurants, cocktails and, of course the amazing oceanside beach - all included for you to go through and test it all out. Luxury resort

This was our second visit. It was a group of 15 people. Kevin was very helpful by keeping us all together. He was accessible anytime of the day to address all of my concerns. He is my agent for all future trips. This time the service was 100% better. We had free valet park and fly. There was a visible Air Canada agent in the airport. The service at the resort improved too. The only problem was the wifi was poor unless you were in your room. Aquamarine is a total Adult resort but yo [... read more]u have access to the other resorts, for shows and restaurant. If you don't want to be around kids then you stay in Aquamarine for everything. They provide entertainment all day and till 11pm in the night. There is also a separate section on the beach for Aquamarine. The sports bar was amazing. You can keep up with the games. Food was amazing. Lots of variety. If someone is not happy about the selection, they are the problem! There is something for everyone at the buffet. Staff is very helpful. I would recommend they update the television quality..very grainy, difficult to see anything.

Great visit to Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine

Left Moncton, NB Canada and flew with Air Transat - well actually Smartlynx Airlines - booked with TripCentral about 6 weeks before the trip - great customer service with TripCentral - two hour delay taking off but all good - flight crew very attentive and some good food options offered for $$$ - nothing complimentary other than standard drinks - arrived March 10, 2023 - 4 hours and 15 minute flight - same time zone as Moncton so no need to change your watches - wheelchair ramps are rolled up to [... read more] the plane, very easy to disembark - we had a bout a 100 yard walk from the tarmac to the arrival gate lineups - quite a lineup at the Punta Cana airport right out to the opening doors - got thru the long lineup, took us about an hour to get to our bus with our luggage - about a half hour waiting for all clients to get to the bus - cold drinks offered at $$$ - short drive to the resort (so hard to see all the garbage on the way) maybe a half hour - Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine - Adult Only - was dropped at the Amba/Aquamarine combined lobby then transferred quickly to our room in building 80 - room 204 - this room is further down the large building really close to the Aquamarine lobby and buffet - if you like short walks everywhere, pick building 80 - if you want a really good pool view and a half decent short walk everywhere pick building 81 or 82 poolside levels 2 and 3 - there will be some music and partying going on across from you but that usually was done by 11pm each evening - Sand was too sandy, Water was too salty, Food was too good, Too many food options, Too many A La Carte Options, Pool was too refreshing, Lounging options were too plenty Drinks were too good, Bartenders were too helpful !!! You guys get the drift now !!!! Only negative of the trip was the loud room cleaning crews in the morning in the hallways - we were always up before they were around but noticed they were a bit noisy and any guests that liked to sleep in, their sleep was likely interrupted. On a positive note, the rooms were cleaned daily, crews were very friendly, bar fridge was stocked daily, extra towels and facecloths provided as requested. AC worked as it should - I had the ceiling fan on all the time on high to circulate the air - keep your deck door closed and closed at all times to keep the AC on when you are in the room. You need to put your room key in the holder when you are in the room for lights and AC to work - I think the AC still works when you are absent as the room was a good temperature whenever we returned. Bathroom had two sinks and jacuzzi tub - we did not use the tub - no need. Plenty of hot water, toilet paper, shampoo and soap. Standup walk-in shower was great with a rain head shower. Left on March 17, 2023 - bus was right on time at the combined Ambar/Aquamarine Lobby - about a half hour drive to the airport - lineup at the airport leaving was very quick - we had to show our boarding passes and passports at least 5 times going thru the airport - grabbed some food before we boarded our plane, lots of options in the airport as well as duty free - be aware there are no flight announcements so be at your boarding gate one hour ahead of time - wheelchair ramps were rolled up to the plane, very easy to get on - we had a bout a 200 yard walk from the departure gate to the wheelchair ramps into the plane - the plane was boarded from both ends of the plane - two sets of ramps - flight took off on time. - 4 hour and 25 minute flight. Only issue was they separated myself and my wife - we just talked to the rep at the boarding gate and then they put up back together. During the first check in the computers went down for a short time, this may have been the issue. All in all it was easy to fix.

What you see ( in the ad.pictures, ) what you get. Nice, clean, quite, Good food, good bars, good beaches, good entertainment. Perfect for younger generation. Surge for best season watch for rainy months .

Good resort but no polite stuff at all.

pools always full, impossible to sit in the pool because the chairs are marked every day, the drinks are bad and made with porr quality , difficult to communicate with the staff because they don't speak any english, they did not fill the minibar, I spent 3 days without water to drink in the room and Etc.....

Bahia Principe Aquamarine

This is our second time. Resort was even better then in 2019. No Covid virtue signalling or theatrics. The specialty dinning was amazing. Lots of evening activities. A great vacation. Beach was excellent, very minimal seaweed end of March. Service was excellent.

Great Vacation

Awesome resort. Will definitely visit again. Loved the pools. Lots of room Really enjoyed the adults only Aquamarine location. Food could have had enter gluten free options. Loved my vacation there.

Nice resort

The pool was nice. You have to get a spot early though. By 9am all the pool chairs were taken. The beach is a far walk..10 mins. The beach is broken down by hotels (Bahia has 5 resorts on the property) lots of algae and the loungers were up on a slope from the sand. It was a strange set up and would be difficult for someone with mobility issues. there were lots of a la carte options. Some were good and others were average. The rooms were nice and the staff very attentive. Large resort so lots of [... read more] walking. Good for those who want to eat lots and walk it off! We did the gym a few times and it was very nice. My husband loved the sports bar. Had great snacks and good entertainment
