Great resort !

We had an amazing time at Royalton. Clean, spacious, friendly staff, great service. Beach area is all you need, no rocks in the water. Food 5 stars. Great restaurants and activities on cite. Will be coming back !

Fantastic resort and staff

A Huge thank you to Susan Snider for helping us book our trip to Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana. This was our first trip to DR as we usually go to Cuba. This Resort was so beautiful. We felt like royalty the entire trip and absolutely loved everything about it. We booked the swim up rooms and loved them. The staff were excellent and we couldn’t have imagined a better trip. Disappointing

After staying at the Royalton in Mexico last year, we were looking for a similar experience this year in Punta Cana. We elected to take the Diamond Club option which provided some extra advantages which were good. The butler service was very disappointing. Food for the most part was good. A la Carte restaurants were good, but service was very slow. The house wines were dreadful. Premium liquors were advertised as included, but was not entirely the case. Many staff did not understand English very [... read more] well, so communicating was often difficult. Grounds were nicely kept, but simple little things ignored. There is a nice 9 hole mini-golf course, but the water(it rained 4 out of seven days), and stones were never cleaned off. The lazy river was nice for the kids. Beautiful beaches, lots of chairs both on the beach and by the pools. Staff often didn't seem friendly, and were not as engaging as last year for group activities.

Very clean, bright and urban feel resort

Rooms are very clean and bright, restaurants are top notch, service is excellent, either at the bars or lobby. The only point that was disappointing is the choice of music everywhere, there is no local music anywhere to be found.

Great Resort

The hotel was spotless, room was great awesome rain showers, pools were clean, the food was fantastic...especially the Brazilian restaurant, the beach is beautiful with crystal clear blue water. The only downfall was the service at the pool areas it seemed on a daily basis that there was not enough staff to effectively service the amount of people.

Beautiful

Family of 4 (2 teenagers), 2 adjoining rooms. The grounds, the pools, the bathrooms were meticulously maintained. The staff always eager to help. All worthy of a 5 star. Overall great stay ... however a few things needs adjusting: 1.our room had a humidity/sewer smell for most of the week... the hotel put a dehumidifier and sprayed lemon but the smell remained throughout the week in one of the rooms (we were in building 12) 2. there should be a better way to go to the restaurants and not be  [... read more]disappointed because they close at 10PM... we arrived at the restaurant at 7h30 (yes a little late, but hey were on vacation and it was our last night)- we would have really wanted to finish our week at the steak house (the best of the a la carte), but there was a 2 hour wait and the restaurant closed at 10h .so they didn't take our reservation. The lighting in the restaurant could also be improved... except for the steakhouse and Yin (the japanese), they were all ‘way’ too bright. Lastly, the beach however beautiful it is (sand, clear water) is very crowded in front of the resort. Took long walks to get away from the crowd, and also very much enjoyed our day at Saona island... beautiful, way less people, saw starfish, great day!

First-Class Resort

Royalton Bavaro was absolutely fantastic resort. Grounds, buildings, rooms were impeccable. The beach and water was spectacular. Pools were great though could be a tad warmer. The food in all restaurants was good but not great. The large majority of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Liquor drinks were weak and house wine was poor. Overall this is a fantastic resort for a family trip. Exceptional if you have kids.

Beautiful Resort but DC not worth it

We booked a Deluxe Junior Suite with Ocean View Diamond Club, but we did not get placed in the Diamond Club building nor did we have an Ocean view. We didn't find the Diamond Club was worth it for just the extra pool, buffet and butler service that was true butler service. We waited almost two hours to get our meals at some of the a la cartes. The resort itself was beautiful and rooms were very nice.

Lovely resort

Beautiful resort, rooms newly renovated. Even though it was a larger resort everything was never to far away. Food was good, for most part staff were friendly. Lazy river was almost to big and more for kids as you get splashed a lot, but that’s probably the who it was made for. Beach was also very nice. I would go back.

Child friendly resort

The resort was lovely, well laid out for children. Resort staff was friendly and helpful. Service was immediate for any requests or necessities. My main con's for this resort are that there were not any coffee stations close to the beach unless you are diamond club(the walk to the front of the resort was a bit of a distance). There was a coffee maker in the rooms and yes, room service was excellent but does not help the walk for a "good" coffee during the day and service at the pool for drink [... read more]s seemed to only apply to men...I could sit for hours without a drink but when son was beside me service was good and he was approached right away. I recommend a Royalton over other hotels, you are guaranteed good food and service.

I'd go again, for the right price

The beach was excellent. The one bedroom layout was fantastic, it was the easiest room our family of four has shared. Resort infrastructure is geared to families with kids. I would have given it 5 stars except for the awful check in. It took 3 hours 3PM to 6PM to get into a room that was NOT in the diamond club area we paid for (remember availability is subject to change). Other little diamond club inclusions were delay or never provided. I requested perhaps a alternative could be offed such as [... read more] other hotel services they said they would try..for says then never produced anything. I was very surprised. I believe diamond club was over sold. Still the food was better than or other previous 5 Punta Cana resort experiences and the service in restaurants and bar was excellent.

Amazing Resort

We very much liked the physical layout. Rooms were all at the back and the entertainment area at the front of the hotel. It was very quiet at night; couldn't hear anything. Although the hotel was full, one never had to feeling of being crowded, unlike some other establishments. Being a new hotel, it looks and feels like some considerable thought has been given to maximizing space, at least in all areas there were spaces to sit and the beach was never over-populated. You could always find a  [... read more]spot. The food was very good, especially the Hunter Steak House, the Grazie Italian and the Zen. Service in all the restaurants was also very god, staff very friendly. We stayed in the Diamond Club and we especially want to thank our butler Michael. He was superb. He checked in with us on-site 3 or 4 times a day to make sure we had everything we needed. He arranged our dinner reservations and changed times on our whim. We have been to Punta Cana many times and stayed in most of the hotels along Bavaro Beach and this was by far our best experience! Primarily the service we received and the physical infrastructure we enjoyed in the Diamond Club. We had a great time and we will return.

The Royalton Bavaro Resort is Excelente

We stayed at the Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa from February 6th to 13th, 2020. This was our 6th trip to Punta Cana and our very first stay at the Royalton Bavaro Resorts and must say this was our favorite of all the resorts that we have stayed at . We were greeted by friendly front desk staff and recognized right away that this was a well clean well managed resort. We had a great week had many staff that made our stay special and apologize that we don't remember some of their names,  [... read more] Thank you to Elaine Rodriguez from guest services who assisted with our questions before our arrival and also to Nikey, Erinson,Carlos, Marlene, Oscar and all those we missed mentioning. We tried all the restaurants other than the Zen/Asian cuisine and found them all to be very good with our favorite being the Italian Grazie , even the Buffet food spots were plenty good with lots of selections. Java spot was excellent. Rooms are very nice and were cleaned daily and the linen when requested and the beds are mega comfortable. The bars fridges could have been maybe been more pre-stocked with beer but there are bars everywhere with lots of friendly pool staff to get you a cold beverage. The Lazy River was awesome and lots fun stuff for the kids to enjoy. The entertainment was reasonably good and we really liked the local bands they had playing nightly next to the Martini Mix Bar. We are happy to write this review and feel we have been to enough resorts recognize a quality resort and the Royalton Bavaro is one We look forward to returning again on our next vacation. Royalton Bavaro, Dominican Republic

Had a problem with check-in. Was supposed to check in at 3 p.m. Room wasn't ready until 4 p.m. Offered me late checkout but I was leaving after breakfast for a pickup back to Toronto. Service at Steakhouse first night was terrible. My order was taken but never say the waiter again after waiting 45 minutes and then asked to speak to Manager. My table was avoided as I was a single female. Also, at the bars, if it was between a male or female customer, the bartender would take order from male [... read more] first. Service was terrible. Good was good. Activites terrible. Would never go back to Royalton.

Good resort for families

The hotel was ok, I would upgrade next time I stayed for more space with two kids. I was happy to have block 19 which was close to the pools and the beach. However it was far from the lobby. Food was ok, nothing too amazing. I have been home for two days and the first day home I got sick. Not sure if it was the food I ate or something I picked up from the airport. Over all I would rebook at this resort but upgrade my room.

Top Family Friendly resort

Absolutely stunning resort. Staff were all wonderful and trustworthy and somehow remembered everyone’s names. The kids were so impressed. So much to do. So much variety. Food at the buffet was so good that we never felt the need to do the a la carte. We did end up trying Hunters - we ended up waiting 1.5 hrs to accommodate 16 ppl. That was a big downer for us since we had 8 hungry and tired children. Food was mediocre. Score bar food was meh. We also tried Zen which was great but we’ve been [... read more] to better tepanyaki places. No fire shows. Food was decent. Gym is the best gym I’ve been to in a AI. Enough free activities by the beach. Beach was superb. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing Resort!

Recently stayed at the Royalton with a group of 12 people at the end of January. We loved this resort! Rooms were clean and nice, always had hot water and fridges were stocked everyday. The beach was beautiful, though it was hard to find chairs unless you put your towel down early in the morning. Pools were clean, lots of chairs regardless of the time of day. Food was great, we loved the Brazilian steakhouse and the Asian a la cartes. We also loved having the food truck right by the  [... read more]pool, most of our lunches were from there. Sports bar was a riot at night when the karaoke was on, they also had live bands at the martini bar every night which was great. Only complaint was that with such a big group it was hard to get into the a la cartes at night, but did not break our trip. Service was good, some bars were better than others. Lots of stuff to do, lazy river, wave runner etc, especially for families, next time we are bringing the kids. Will definitely be returning to Royalton Bavaro!

Beautiful new resort

Beautiful, modern, family friendly resort. I’m a foodie and even I was impressed by the resorts food. Favourites were Rio and Hunter. Never a dull moment lots to do at the resort really enjoyed the lazy river and flow rider. Unfortunately our swim out was not heated but still enjoyable to lounge around while the baby was napping. Beach was well kept and the softest sand I have ever felt. Ocean however was very wavy difficult to swim in. Great Family Resort

We just returned from 2 weeks at the Royalton Bavaro and had an incredible time. We traveled with a group of 9 people ranging from age 2 to 95. This resort literally had something for everyone and we covered the age spectrum. Wonderful beach, best food I've had at a resort, amazing activities. Probably wouldn't recommend it to couples but definitely great for families.

Wonderful vacation for 2

just returned from a one week stay, stayed ocean front in building 20, with fabulous view and sounds of the waves from our balcony. Resort was very clean and well kept, lots of activities and endless dining options to suit your carvings, from food trucks of convenience, and the fabulous smelling grill near the lazy river, lunches at the beachfront restaurant and the fine dining experiences of the a la carte options in the evenings. Lots of nightly entertainment and great atmosphere in the evenings, tons of seating for people watching or enjoying the lobby singer/entertainers. Many bars to serve your needs as well throughout the resort, as its a big resort. They loved shaking the margaritas up! We have traveled south over a dozen times and this resort would rate as one of the best, loved the no towel card and the room key wrist bands, there was lots of seating around the pools, no towel reserving chair game, however I do think this happened with beach seats. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles, with the warm breeze and hot sun, clean beach and waters. We loved the closeness/proximity of the pool and the beach so you could easily switch up from one to the other to cool off or split up your day, The lazy river was also a beloved option, Jhonny the bartender at this river pool bar was always smiling and happy to see you. Waiter service at the beach and pool was regular enough, restaurant service could have been a little quicker in some places but we didn't mind as we were on vacation time and no where else to be, just have another drink while you wait. It is a heavily populated resort for families, we knew this when we booked, it didn't hinder our trip by any means, but with the multitude of available pools , my only suggestion would be an "adults only" designated one, it is hard to nap poolside or chill in the water with kids jumping in and diving or screaming lol, not a deal breaker by any means but it may be a welcome change for the adults, such as us whom are travelling without our children. Overall I would, and already have recommended this resort to others!
