Amazing interior and exterior design of grounds , buildings and rooms. The white Birds nesting on the edge of the grounds is a huge highlight. Must experience the beautiful birds.
Beach sand was always littered with Garbage and cigarette butts. Hot tub on the adult side wasn't working which was a huge disapointment. No where near enough shade or sheltar so sunburn and rain soak is inevitable unless you stay indoors.
Don't pay extra for the Adults Only because children are still everywhere do[... read more]ing whatever they want. Perfect size resort to get around. Kid's swim amenities looked amazing. Food is served cold which for some dishes, borders on revolting. Restaurants proved to be a complicated 2 to 3 hour wait for equally unappetizing food. We were hungry most of the time. Staff range from cool and removed to completely irritated to have guests. Never heard so many blunt " No"s .The party staff at the adult pool were aggressive past the line of appropriate. They were actually physically pulling, pushing and shoving drinking people into things they don't want to do.. that looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
The drinks were mysterious recipies of what seemed like left over cheap liqour. Never had a margarita, martini etc
made out of whatever odd ingredients were laying around and never tasted the same twice.
Beds were very comfy and the huge showers are very luxurious at the end of the day. Check in and out were smooth and orderly.
There are no extras, no welcome drinks or greetings, no smiling service, nothing friendly and nothing to add any special feel or interest.

Beautiful resort
This resort is spotless. Rooms are huge. The grounds and the pools are immaculate. Unfortunately there was little shade around the pools.
The food was a little disappointing. It became rather repetitive after a week and was barely lukewarm.

Nice clean resort
Food variety and quality was excellent Grounds and pools all clean Nice having a kids side and a adult side that was much quieter. There was really no evening entertainment. Beach was rocky but there’s a nice area on one side of the resort that has a nice ocean swimming area. Bar in the front lobby made the best drinks. 30c every day and full sun.

It was ok
We purchased an adult only privilege holiday for 2 weeks.
Pros: great animation team, nice rooms, comfortable beds, lots of activities available throughout the day to take part in, Mike's coffee was amazingly good, and a daily visit was our favorite daytime activity.
Privilege restaurant, (when open), was great! Pools where wonderful and chairs were available. Outdoor dinning was available at most restaurants.
Con's: Too large of a resort, and the trolley doesn't circulate very often and[... read more] is very inconsistent when it does. Restaurant availability for booking was poor (and being privilege, doesn't give you any benefits) . Only was able to book once at Steakhouse, once at Blue moon, and they ran out of steaks while we were at steak restaurant. Beach was just ok, so we didn't go too often. (Twice during stay),
Music around the pool was geared to the 20 year olds and was played so loud that you couldn't talk to someone sitting next to you, and not enough umbrellas considering it's in full sun most days. Also, the sound would bounce off the buildings and get an echo. The buffet had very little meat options, compared to other resorts, and was not a lot of variety. Breakfast main buffet was good, but couldn't get bacon at any time.
We wouldn't recommend the privilege as we were the farthest room away from the beach where all privilege restaurants were. There was no privilege bar or lounge, just 2 restaurants that rotated being opened..the availability was also were difficult to get into, unless you wanted to eat very early or very very late. They seamed understaffed, yet they said they were 90% full. Most staff were great, but seemed like they were understaffed all the time, so waiting was a big part of a meal. We tipped very well, at every meal, almost with every drink. The pool staff were great and an extra shout out to Luie and adult pool bar staff.

Needs improvements
First impression of resort was good. Service needs improvement. Grounds and pool seemed well looked after. Our private rooftop patio was our saviour for making our trip until a drone was flown above it and violating our privacy. So upset that I made a formal complaint. Not that I believe it’ll go anywhere. Most food was lukewarm at best. Few servers were very attentive. Some hostesses were rude. Few understood English.
No other guests that we talked to were happy with their experience, one ac[... read more]tually thinking of a class action lawsuit.

Ocean el faro
Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly. Our room was very close to the beach. Only issue was trying to book one of the restaurants only managed to book one rest of the time we had to go to the buffet. Overall the food and coffee shop was good.
Rooms are big and spacious. I must say our booking rep at Trip Central Kevin Dupuis was exceptional from our confirmation to every bit of information you would require

Great resort - walkers beware it's a big one
Ocean El Faro has everything you need. We upgraded to Priviledge which unlocked a few more dining options, better alcohol, better wifi etc I would say it was worth it but the cost wasn't that different than the general room so we decided to do it.
Food wasn't amazing overall but my family enjoyed it! The beach was okay very rocky and not sandy white but it was still not 3 ft of snow. Pools were great, entertainment was great. Servers constantly walking around if you need anything (the better[... read more] you tip the faster they come by). Room overall was nice, some details they could improve on but it was quite modern!

Amazing resort
I was quite happy with the resort. The grounds were clean. The beach was beautiful. We had plenty of chairs and we had drinks served on the beach which was great. The rooms were very clean, staff was amazing. All the staff at that resort were amazing to us. Loved all the restaurants, so much food to choose from. Super covid safe. We will be going back to that resort where they treated us so good.

Great Vacation at El Beso
Had a great time at El Beso in November 2021. We were a group of 6 and all had different styles of rooms. We had a swim out, one couple had a regular room and the las couple had toilet issues and were upgraded to the roof top terrace. All the rooms are very similar in decor, just a big size difference with the roof top. The swim out we had was in building 17, sun all morning, it was perfect. The food was as expected, always something to eat. The only crappy part is that you cannot prebook your a[... read more] la carte restaurants. For Japanese you must get up at and be up there to book at 7am, all the others you have to wait in line at for 6pm. It’s a bit of a pain but we figured it out and ate at restaurants every night. The other option is to eat at the adults only restaurant at the beach. We did breakfast there everyday and they also had theme nights for dinner at 6:30pm or 8pm. It was great. A very nice feature is the lazy river. It is on the family side but a short walk from the adult pool. We brought our own tubes, good thing as they were very hard to find throughout the day. Overall the resort is well maintained and the staff are very friendly, we did not have any issues with service, we knew what we were getting into with Covid. Mikes Coffee was dynamite, a must visit place with lots of room to sit inside or outside. The airport leaving DR though was a gong show, make sure you also complete your departure declaration before you get in line, many people didn’t and they just shoved us to the back of the line. Finally made it through customs and made it on the plane 20 min prior to departure and did not get a chance to do some duty free shopping. I would definitely visit El Beso again.

Great Resort!
This is second time for one couple at this resort, and is still amazing. Other couple really enjoyed too. This time in adult side El Beso, really enjoy the quietness, less crowds here. There is still snacks bar, restaurant, buffet for breakfast, pools on this side. We still went to restaurants, pool, and favorite lazy river on Ocean El Faro side. The grounds are well kept, everything is still in great shape, gleaming floors in lobby.
For covid there was plastic gloves for people to wear. All s[... read more]taff were wearing masks. People wore masks in restaurants until eating or drinking. Mostly masks not used outside. They had masks if forgot yours. The no reservations at restaurants is good, but found it hard a few times to get in, was line ups with wait times of 2 hours later. Didn't open all restaurant 2 closed a night. PCR testing at resort was good but wait times to
pre- register for appointment were long. Cost $90 Us.
Entertainment was outside in patio area in evenings instead of theater, because of covid was great, especially Micheal Jackson show.
Something here at resort for everyone.

Good time
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The food was very good. The service was very slow… booking process for a la carte restaurants was frustrating… beware of the holiday sales people… waste of time and very pushy. The beach needs a lot of work… if you are looking for real Punta Cana white sand this is not the place… sat at the pool most of the time. Air Canada airport transfer sucked… waited along in a bus with masks on with no A/C for an hour… no one came to see us… after I[... read more] got off the bus to make sure we were on the right bus and no one could tell us what was going on… after a half hour more two more groups showed up…. Had we had been told that we would have taken a cab to the hotel. Over all 7 out of 10.

Good Vacation
The resort was absolutely beautiful. The a la carte restaurants were very good. Loved that we didn't have to make reservations for all of them, only for the Japanese and it was easy. The food at the buffet was never hot nor was the food at the snack bar which was disappointing. Mike's coffee cafe was great as was the ice cream place. Pools were amazing.
Beach was ok. Drinks were good, Calvin at the sports bar was fantastic. Shows were ok. Never much happening at the disco. Rooms were [... read more]very nice and lots of space. We had an issue with our door when we arrived which took them over an hour to fix and it still didn't close properly unless you slammed it so everytime our room was made up the door was left unlocked and they wouldn't let us switch rooms even though there was no one in the rooms on either side of us. Had to call a couple of times to have towels brought or water.
