Amazing, clean, beautiful

We loved everything about this hotel, people, cleanliness, availability of everything, pools, beach, entertainment . No complaints. Have made some lifelong friends with a few staff. Will definitely return

Great Resort!

This is a great resort, great beach, food was average but still a big variety of beef stirfry, pork, chicken, lamb, fresh eggs every morning, bacon, beans, rice, pasta, fresh fish on the grill, fresh fruits mango, watermelon, papaya, guava, pineapple, ice cream, and of course assortment of cuban deserts. Rooms were clean, water everyday, definitely bring mosquito spray and afterbite!!!! Over all great resort would definitely go back again!!!

Nice Resort for the money

Nice place, still on the newer side. Very clean and well kept, Rooms are nice and clean, comfortable beds. Ice cold AC. Great view from 7109. Great maid service. The staff overall was very friendly. The beach was fantastic. Our trip was at the beginning of the low season so the resort was not full at all. Never an issue with pool loungers or palapas at the beach. We had our own little section it almost felt like our own version the "Club". Spent all day every day at the beach. Free 30min Hobie c [... read more]at sailing (with a "captain") free paddle boats or kayaks. Nice little place to snorkel right off the beach. Lots of little and even some big fish. Great for beginners. The water was never rough and very shallow really far out. Crystal clear water. The food was not fantastic and yes there were some shortages but we always had plenty of choices and plenty to eat. I am not sure I have ever heard of anyone going to for the food. We went into knowing what to expect and everything was fine. Do bring mosquito repellent, and use lots of it. They are like commando mosquitos down there. This was a perfect fit for the price, you couldn't beat it. 7 days on that beach was perfect. Don't plan on doing any extra curricular activities though. the resort is basically in the middle of nowhere. But again we knew that going in. Would we go back, yes, for the price we paid for sure. The beach alone is worth every penny.

We will be back next year!

Hotel was good. Not a lot of water pressure in the shower and strange shower set up and we asked for a remote for theTV twice and never did get one all week. Also, a flat sheet on bed would be nice. Other than that, pretty good

Great resort awesome staff. Best stay in Cuba in 7 trips

Everything was great. Go with a positive attitude and appreciate the awesome beach, staff. Did not notice any shortages in food etc that we saw on other posts. Looking to go back next year. Special thanks to Daniel and Amy at the resort. Thank You to Karol our Trip Central advisor who was also awesome!!!

One of the best in Cuba

Fairly new, excellent service. Good beach. Food is ok , transportation is good, on time, gym is brand new pools is good, very close to the beach. Nothing else to talk.good gggggggghghhhbhhbhhhhhbhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhjjjjjhnnnnnnbbbvvvbbbbbbbbbbbb

Loved the hotel!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Comfy beds, good size new rooms, huge shower and great service. Lots of pool options with day beds as well and the beach is gorgeous, but careful of the coral reefs. The staff were very friendly and did their best to go above and beyond. The food is what is to be expected in Cuba, but we never went hungry. We had no real shortages, lots of towels and toilet paper.

Beautiful resort

Grand Aston is a 2 yr old resort on Cayo Paredon. The buildings are beautiful and kept very clean ; lobby, rooms etc. The staff do an excellent job looking after the facility. The pools are clean and refreshing, the beach is groomed every day and the water / swimming is excellent.

Nice Quiet Resort

This resort is one of three in the area. No locals around. Quiet area if you are looking for a very relaxing place. Pools are clean and maintained. Beautiful white sand beach. Clean and well maintaned buildings. Entertainment and food is the only thing lacking in my opinion. There is plenty of food it’s just not that enjoyable, but most Cuban food is like that for me personally. Totally would go back. For me it’s all about relaxing, sun and the beach

Fantastic if you like big hotels

New hotel, spotless clean, excellent service, good food, beautiful beach - almost everything you want in a vacation spot. For us, it was too big, we prefer smaller hotels. As in all new hotels, the garden is not fully grown, therefore there is a lot of areas that do not have enough shade.Otherwise perfect.

The Good and the Bad!

The grounds, rooms, pool and beach were immaculately kept. It’s a fairly new resort so all areas are up to date. Hot water was hit and miss in our room. Multiple days with cold military showers. Water bottles in the room were also hit and miss. Some days 1 small bottle, other days none. The 4th day we were there they left us a big jug which was great. The staff were lovely and so helpful for the most part. The lobby bar was beautiful with lots of seating and live music. They had Frappuccino, ic [... read more]e coffee and pretty good alcoholic drinks in the lobby bar also. The family pool washrooms by the end of the day started to smell and ran out of toilet paper. The wifi is sporadic at best! The food was hit and miss in the buffet. They had no hot pasta being cooked after day 4, they ran out of cheese for omelettes and some mornings no bread for toast. The lineups for the snack bars were long. We waited 1.5 hours at the beach bar for pizza and about 20-30 minutes at the family pool for fries. If you have picky eaters I would choose another country to vacation in or take lots of snacks and things like packaged oatmeal or Mr. Noodles. The staff will gladly get hot water for you. Peanut butter and Nutella saved us a couple times as our son is picky. Overall great resort if you can overcome the food shortages.

Excellent hotel, very windy beach all the time, very, very bad a la carte restaurants

clean, new resort, NOT enough beach chairs on the beach and around the pool. NO eggs for breakfast ! Good food only at the opening of the lunch and dinner hours . After 1 hours the real food disappear.

Terrific Vacation

Our trip to Cayo Coco, Cuba. The resort was beautiful, rooms were big, everything was extremely clean, staff was friendly, weather was great, couldn’t ask for better. The beach was unreal! We all were shocked by the sand and how powdery it was. Snorkeling right off the beach at the north end was phenomenal. Such a huge variety of fish to see. Had no issues with getting loungers at the beach but around the pool was a bit of a challenge. Food was plentiful for all meals. Thought it a bit  [... read more]strange that they had no breakfast in the steamers… lol I would suggest they learn how to deal with feeding 1500 people a little faster. Long waits for the snack bars so just stuck to the buffet. They don't seem to have the concept figured out on precooking food at the snack bars. As for the A la Cartes: The Mexican restaurant was our biggest complaint. They didn't serve you enough food at the meal so you need to go to the buffet after...haha. As for drinks; it was expected that they would have mostly Rum, but did find some Tequila, Vodka, and Whiskey. Coke and sprite were sporadic, so stick to the juices. We were very fortunate to have no real issues with anything. Had to fight a bit to get the crib and a second room key which I thought to be rather annoying. The entertainment was canceled a few times and I did find it to be very disorganized like most things, but overall can not complain. We did not starve, water was slow at times but the trip by far was enjoyable.

Nice Resort

We went there as six people. The grounds and the hotel itself are amazing. The staff works so hard and it is so clean at all times. Me and my husband had requested a king size bed with an adjoining room for our granddaughters. When we got there, my husband and I had two double beds instead of one king, and someone else had been booked in between us and the granddaughters. It wasn’t some thing that ruined our vacation as the people they had booked in between us was the other couple we had travell [... read more]ed with, even though the hotel did not know that. Aside from those mistakes, we had an amazing time at this resort. The biggest problem was the other guests and the reserving of chairs both at the beach and at the pool. I was told by another guest that you had to be up at 4 AM to get a chair at the beach. That doesn’t seem right when you are on vacation. There needs to be a better system put in place.

Nice place

The workers are great. Still lacking varieties of food options and decent entertainment . The beach is nice and the place is clean. It's far from any attractions if you are looking for excursions or a close by town to visit.

Beautiful resort and amazing beach

April 2024 Resort is very nice, clean and well maintained. Staff are pleasant and always available and eager to help. Beautiful pools for all ages. A la carte restaurant are really good especially the Italian and Brazilian. The buffet was well set up and fresh fish, chicken and steak is available made in front of you. Breakfast was great, fresh egg and omelette stations as well as fresh smoothie station. We had a great time and would recommend this resort.

Wonderful time

The resort was clean and full of amazing people ready to make your trip memorable. The shows were entertaining & full of talented artists! The pools were gorgeous and the drinks always flowing. We would return for sure!

Great beach! Hotel nice but the rest no bueno!

We stayed March 22-29. Hotel rooms looked 5 star as rated, however without tipping and return to front desk for water and towels we would not have had any of the basic necessities . 3 people in our room but only two bath towels for days. Our shower never had warm or hot water nor did our shower head work or water drain. Long line ups always for food and lack of fresh veggies and fruit. You would have to arrive early for any fresh food. Not always milk for cereal and same basic hot dogs served [... read more] each day . We were aware of the supply crisis in Cuba and planned ahead. We are not high maintenance but days when bread ran out. I felt I spent half my vacation waiting in line. I had to wake up at 5:00 am to be able to have a chair and cover on the beach or pool. People would have places saved but not even be there all day. Our first day I woke up at 6:45 to place our towels as we would normally do especially since we’re there spring break but there were no chairs avail. The hotel staff met me know I had to be there as early as 5:00 am. There were pool tables to enjoy but only one broken cue stick for two tables so no one was able to play. We felt we would not get any help from staff unless we tipped first ; normally a tip is earned not expected. I only ever had water and since it unable to drink from the tap the bars and restaurant were the only place I could get some but I felt I should not have had to tip each time.

Amazing resort, poor food

The resort is very good, the accommodation is superb. Several lovely swimming pools, gorgeous beach. Staff is friendly and pleasant. Now about the food: we all know that Cuba is facing shortages in every way so we didn't expect gourmet dining, however it was even worse than we expected. There wasn't much to choose from the first two days. No fruit at all, mostly cabbage, rice and dry pasta with a couple of spoons of watered down tomato paste. As far as alholic drinks, there was no wine in the  [... read more]entire resort, only beer and rum. The situation improved the 3rd day of our stay as they must have received new shipment of food. There were omelets in the morning and fried fish and chicken later in the day. However the lines to get this food were very very long. There was even wine in the evening but you had beg to get your glass refilled. There was no tea the entire week. Having said this, aside from the food, we still had a good time and enjoyed our stay.

Overall great experience! Great people, beautiful beach and new amenities.

My first time visiting Grand Aston Cayo Paredón and overall I had a great experience. Yes the food shortages are noticeable but you can tell the staff makes every effort to make the most with what they have. I decided to upgrade to the Club and was the best choice! My goal was to have a relaxing and peaceful vacation and doing the upgrade allowed me to be in a more secluded section with a beautiful pool facing the ocean! This also included a private restaurant, bar and lounge area where Carlo [... read more]s and team made every attempt to ensure everyone was taken care off. The only feedback I would have is for management to really invest into creating more options to allow for better flow in the buffet as I felt bad for the people who couldn't upgrade to the club option and had to wait so long for an omelette or some pasta. Yes you don't travel to Cuba for the food experience, but you also don't go on vacation to wait for an hour to have breakfast or lunch. For the A la carte restaurants I would recommend management invests in some training to enhance the taste of the dishes. I would rather have less options to pick from but ensure it tastes the best than have a chicken parmigiana that is not exactly a chicken parmigiana. Considering how much effort the staff puts into their work I just feel like there could be more done from the top management to make things easier for everyone. The evening entertainment had some great shows, would have preferred if the location where most of the shows were held wasn't setup on beach sand and that it offered more seating as some nights people had to stand in order to watch. I would definitely return just for the overall experience!
