Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Okay resort

Perfect location. We enjoyed our stay. The weather was great and the park entrance was so close. Food is subpar. Do not go there for the food. Old building we stayed in, needs to be remodelled. Also, the Royal level and club level much nicer. Be prepared for sales. Service was excellent.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Great well rounded resort!

Had a wonderful time with my friends. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Food was tasty and lots of variety. Only cons would be the difficulty with dinner reservations and the amount of seaweed in the ocean. But the beach was powdery soft! Staff were also attentive and friendly!

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Blue diamond didn’t disappoint

Just returned from a week at this resort. It is a boutique hotel so do your research if it’s for you. Not a party place. Nice entertainment/music while dining only. If you have mobility issues this would be challenging . Here’s the pros and cons Pros - food is outstanding, only two restaurants but there’s a new menu every evening in one and they add daily specials to the other so loads of choices. Also have a snack bar for casual bite by the water. Two beautiful pools with lots of comfy chairs [... read more] and choices . Very large clean comfortable rooms, quick golf cart service if you don’t want to walk to the beach. Top shelf alcohol and great service at bar and restaurant. Staff are exceptional . Lush tropical property to walk through, resort never felt busy except when a wedding came in, Cons - it needs some maintenance and repair, tiles broken, light fixtures need replacing , outlets not working, boards need replacing, These are minor things and no safety issues so don’t let this hold you back from going. It’s not a 5 star for these reasons but it’s definitely 4.5

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Disappointing resort

My experience here was not great. It starts at check-in when another couple experienced an issue with the dates confirmed. They were to check-in the 17th of December, as per the email confimation they had but the hotel had them for the 18th. Surely a clerical error easily rectifiable, but no, the manager was rude and not accommodating in the least. My turn, check-in and there's a tax to be paid. I asked what it was, curious, and the answer I was given, "ma'am its a tax you habe to pay!" as  [... read more]though we had argued it unpleasantly. Get up to our room, ONE bed. No, I wven called the night before to guarantee 2 beds. I did NOT wish to sleep in the same bed as my 15 yr old son (that I only adopted a year ago) and when I asked for a different room and explained why, I was told there was never a guarantee. The room is sold as a double and costs more. No refund, no help. Just a beligerant employee. Room itself smelled like mildew and yes, there was mold in the bathroom. Then off the AC and open both the patio door and the room door for 10m. Make sure everything is stored or it will go flying. The food. OMG and I've been to Cuba in a 3*. The food was not good. You do get one.free a la carte dinner in one of their restaurants. I suggest the steakhouse but don't get your hopes up. Its good but it's not steakhouse good. Lastly, I found 4 syringes on the beach. On to some positive notes. The beach is nice. People go down at sunrise to "reserve" chairs. Get up early. The water is warm, clean, and not so salty it makes you itchy after a swim. We even slept outside one night when the sky was clear The staff that isn't at the front desk is super nice. My chambermaid was amazing. I have zero complaints there I would go back to Cancun. But I would definitely not stay here. For a similar rate, I'd go to a different resort. The RIU next door. I'm not much of a critic. I'm very laid back and almost never leave a negative review but if I can save a nice family from having a bad experience, it's worth it. Read the other not so great reviews before you book.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: Margaritaville never disappoints!

Our second time going to a Margaritaville and they always impress. Every detail is taken care of, and the theming is top notch. Great food, incredible staff, and the place is spotless and smells fantastic! Can't wait to go back!! Other than the beach being destroyed by a hurricane the place is perfect.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Best holiday ever

We had a swim out room. Everything about this resort exceeded our expectations. Food, service, rooms, amenities. Would 100% recommend. View was and location are excellent. Only down side is as the beach right out front could be a little rocky.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing place

This was my bday trip. Moving forward I will only book with trip central! No complaints at all. The food was the only thing questionable but you can buy local restaurants and they are amazing. Overall best bday ever

Riu Palace Baja California: Lovely Resort

The food was excellent, the resort was always clean. The pools are large, and the resort is right on the beach. The rooms are very modern. The coffee bar in the morning was very handy! There was no issues getting into the Restaurants in the evening. - Great Selection

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: I’ll definitely be back

We have travelled all over Mexico, and this was definitely one of our top hotels! Grand Oasis Riviera: Not For Young Couples

The resort staff, cleanliness and the beach were phenomenal. The resort however was not as described. The Sports Bar is not a bar and serves zero alcohol, the bars close at 6pm, except the lobby and theater bar which sometimes closed at 11pm, or 2pm. Their is only 1 pool bar and they dont play music or have any sort of entertainment there. Perfect resort to sit and read a book, not a good resort if you want to have a drink and dance the night away. The snack bar closed at 6pm. The buffet had a 1 [... read more]+ wait some nights. The resort was beautiful but it is definitely more for people above 55+ and who do not like to drink or party. My travel agent was phenomenal and very helpful but the resort is not as advertised.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very nice resort

The resort was very nice. Nice rooms, good food. I wished they changed up the buffet a little more each day but the food was delicious regardless. Pools were nice, We stayed in the adults only portion of the hotel. Beach was nice, a couple days the seaweed had blown in but the grounds keepers were making quick work of getting rid of it. Beach bar was always busy but all the other bars you could just about walk up to without a line. You have to get up fairly early to get a decent chair anywhere.  [... read more]Drinks were delicious. Resort is off the main roads so you need to take a taxi to go to most places. The bellboys will help you with that. Overall a great place to stay. I wish my travel agent gave more details on arrival as there are lots of people wanting to take you to the resort but they are all charging and I had pre paid for airport transfers. It took a little while to find out who I needed to ride with.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Top quality resort, well worth the price!

This is the nicest all inclusive resort we have been to, especially considering the price point. The food quality was top notch, and the service very friendly. The pool was very nice & clean. The water was a touch cold but more than tolerable. Lots of pool chairs & towels. The rooms are large & very nice with all amenities. The resort grounds are not too large and very well taken care of. Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya

we had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Zilara. the room was clean and comfortable beds. We had an ocean view which overlooked the pool and the sea from our balcony. The beach was excellent and we took a walk with Fermin to a Cenote only 15 minutes away. we had really good breakfasts at El Comedor. I would give this place 5 stars it is smaller than some resorts but we prefer that it’s not a big loud resort. everything is close walking distance.

Crown Paradise Club: disappointing

The good: Nice beach Clean rooms The bad: Had to wait in line for breakfast almost every morning. Once for almost an hour. Once we arrived at 10:40am (breakfast closes at 11am.) Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: One of my favourites

I’ve travelled a few times with my young kids and this resort was my favourite. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. There are so many thoughtful details in the set up and execution of everything they do that make it extra special and kid friendly. The resort feels very safe. It’s clean. The variety and quality of entertainment is great. I loved the dinner and show events. The layout makes such a large resort feel very close in how they group buildings together. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort for all ages!

We had a great time with our family at this resort. The food was great, along with the activities and the entertainment. Everyone from my one year old up to my grandmother had a great time. They had something for all ages. I would definitely recommend this Resort!

Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort and Spa: Not like other secrets

We recently stayed at this resort and had a mix of great moments and some disappointing issues. The good: The food overall was very good, and the drinks were consistently well made. Service around the pool and beach was excellent — Guillermo, Anteljo and Elvis, who truly went above and beyond and made our days by the water enjoyable. The rooms were clean and well maintained, which we appreciated. The not so good: The new restaurant reservation policy was a major downside for us. While so [... read more]me may like it, I personally don’t. To me, luxury means being able to eat at the restaurant you’re craving that day without rigid planning. In the past, getting a pager and enjoying a drink while waiting for a table was never an issue. If you’re traveling with a larger group, the app won’t even allow you to book more than 4–6 people depending on the restaurant. This was especially frustrating considering the website states under Unlimited Luxury that there is “limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining options without reservations required,” which didn’t match our experience at all. Unfortunately, a sweater went missing from my room during our stay. Additionally, 4 out of the 7 people in our group got sick. I’m not blaming this on any one thing, and we were careful — we even brushed our teeth with bottled water — but it was still disappointing and affected our trip. The biggest letdown was how a birthday celebration was handled. We traveled specifically for a birthday and communicated with the resort a month in advance to book the teppanyaki restaurant for that night. We confirmed the reservation again on the day we arrived. When we showed up the night of the birthday, the restaurant was closed. Concierge then turned the situation around and implied it was our fault. We had to push just to be accommodated at another restaurant, and on top of that, we were still charged for the teppanyaki. I’ll also note that I’ve never stayed at a Secrets resort where teppanyaki was an extra charge — another reason this resort did not feel truly “luxury” to us. Overall, while there were definitely highlights, the inconsistencies, poor handling of special occasions, and policies that didn’t align with what was advertised made this stay fall short of expectations.

Krystal Grand Cancun: Amazing Beach Reaort

The beach was spectacular. White sand, clear turquoise waters, warm. Chairs and beach umbrellas were great. The hotel was nice, clean, and restaurants and food very good. The altitude building was amazing, the main building a little older and more basic. Pools were a little cold, but very nice. Overall, if you are looking for an amazing beach and nice resort, this is a great choice.
