Riu Tequila: brilliant hotel

really enjoyed my stay hotel was very very clean staff were brilliant rooms very clean and the food was very good well worth the money a 5 min walk to the beach or you could get the mini bus but was better walking down a private entry shaded so it was cooler

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Great adult only resort!

We had a wonderful time at this lovely resort. Most of all the service at the entire place was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone was so helpful, cheerful and the goal was to please. The food was great - and so many choices - to keep us happy. There was an abundance of choices for entertainment nightly. The flight with Air Transat was problem free and organized. We would definitely recommend this adult resort to others. Nancy

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Decent but will not return

We stayed 7 days Feb 27-March 6th. As soon as we all got to the resort we went to the bar to try and find a table then when we finally did.. we had to clean and wipe down the table then waited for service and waited. Which did not come. We squeezed up at the bar and got some cocktails. Sadly the hard alcohol at the resort is aweful. Beer and basic teqiilla were fine and the wine . The pool cafe was delicious and everything made to order. The fries were yummy and the quesadilla were the best. Pool chairs were hard to come by and got taken up by 9am. Towels that were placed to hold were removed by staff after about 35 min which is good thing otherwise no one would have a good place to lay. The pools are average and we lost the best pool for a day as someone pooped in the pool. The beach was small and tons of the seaweed floating in and out of the water. Lots of rocks so bring water shoes. Not enough beach chairs for sure. Our first room overlooked a mug pile and stunk of sewage so the changed our room with a better view but the balcony had a high cement wall so we could not enjoy it. Rooms were average. Nice shower. The AC was poor and motion operated so when you left and came back after hours in the beating sun the room temp was 24-25 and took way to long to go down to 21.5 which was the lowest it would go. Buffet breaky was good but long lineups to get in. Good service in most of the restaurants. We loved Willain in the Italian restaurant. He went over and above and excellent at his job. My sister only had hot hot water for one day then the last day they had no water at all. They were also doing maintenance work below our room at 315am! Loud banging as they were removing floor tile. Basic service was fine. Food was fine. Alcohol was Meh. Had floral taste in the gin and vodka so make sure you go ask for a specific brand. Great latte snack bar open 24 hrs. Get the latter with Baileys. yummy. iced or hot. All in all we all agree we would not return to this resort. However if you have nothing to compare it to you will be fine. Our group of 6 have been to mexico many times and had experienced better resorts.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: A bit of Paradise!

The Catalonia Royal Tulum is a beautiful resort carved out of the jungle and situated on one of the most beautiful beaches, Xpu-Ha, pure white sand and crystal clear water. We were attracted to this resort for several reasons, the location, it's size and the fact that it is adults only. The grounds, buildings and facilities are immaculate. The beach and the pool area are pristine, with plenty of loungers, services and activities. Guests love the bar in the Palapa and swim up bar. The lobby is a great place to chill in the evening often with entertainment and another great bar Margaritas. It was hard to leave this piece of paradise, we will definitely return.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Comfortable

The resort on first approuch was excellent, front end staffing was top end along with all services to our villa. Resturants were clean,friendly and had good value for a all inclusive. Buffet was well staffed however at best in 10 days table service was less than desired and hot food was at best warm unless you waited for fresh turns. staffing in this area need more training to reduce running back and forth for item such as coffeemate as in Mexico cream seem to be unavailable. Room was comfortabl [... read more]e ,clean with great maid service however needs to be update as far as furnishing go to provide better comfort exspecially to linen blankets and towels. enjoyed our trip even through it was a little expensive to what we recieved.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Love this resort

We were here for 10 nights and everything was amazing. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. Love the layouts of the resorts, with all the pools across the back and separated by a pathway from the beach. The food at the buffets was great and the a-la-cartes were fabulous. Even the pickiest of eaters should be able to find something. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous time and would definitely go back.

El Dorado Royale: Great Week at Eldorado Royale Resort

My wife and I just had a great week at the Royale. The food was exceptional, some of the best food we have had at an all-inclusive resort. The Royale had many pools, so lots of options to find a great spot to find your day. The beach is rocky so ocean swimming is challenging, but we knew this well in advance. The rooms are a bit dated, but extremely functional - very clean, fridge well stocked, bed very comfortable, and AC worked very well. Overall, we have a fantastic week and we would definitely return.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Royal Hideaway

The hotel is beautiful. The concierge assigned to our building was super helpful. The main lobby staff is incompetent and unprofessional. More training is needed there. The dinner restaurants have very small portions and must be booked every night. No buffet. For the price, not worth it. Riu chain is far better. I would not stay here again and would NOT recommend it to my friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Bahiz Principe Luxury Akumal Wedding Experience

The property is stunning. Entering through an avenue of beautiful foliage, to an impressive entry and spacious lobby, check-in was efficient and friendly. The room was clean, attractive and well-serviced. The villa area was quiet and beautifully landscaped, with lots of birds and wildlife.Buffet and réassurants were excellent, with good variety and quality of meals offered. Entertainment was excellent, if rather loud. The beach areas were clean, with plentiful shade areas. The beaches the [... read more]mselves tend to be rocky, requiring water shoes, but one particular lagoon had spectacular snorkelling. There could be more towel stations, as I was only aware of one. Pools are beautiful and refreshing, i enjoyed the quiet pool and Adult area. Staff were consistently friendly, pleasant and efficient. Room service was excellent, although food sélection and quality were only moderate. The wedding was beautiful and appeared perfect (I was not involved in the planning) The resort is huge, requiring .a lot of transport on small trolleys, which were comfortable and frequent. Even so, there is considerable walking Activities and the staff were excellent, with a wide variety, and great animators. In all, and excellent property, and I look forward to my next visit!

Mahekal Beach Resort: Cannot beat this location

A literal jungle oasis in the middle of a city. If you're tired of the ultra modern, super minimalist, trendy super resorts - this is the spot for you. It's not advertised as an eco resort, but it is. As an example, they washed the multi use plastic cups given to us at the pool! Well treed, lovely gardens, they even supply bug spray because of how natural everything is. Beach was better than I expected, we never ever had to fight for beach or pool loungers. Cocktails were phenomenal and beers we [... read more]re name brand (Sol, Tecate, XX). Complaints: housekeeping was terrible. Not sure if that's due to 'eco resort' nature. And they removed our all-inclusive privileges at noon on our last day, even though we weren't scheduled to leave until 4pm. If that has been made clear I maybe wouldn't have been so upset. But you can literally out the front doors to a plethora of dining and shopping options. 100% would stay here again due to the location right in town + the amenities and food were 5 star.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Okay resort

The hotel was ok, a lot bigger than I anticipated. Lack of lounge chairs at both pools Food was decent and no issues with booking a la cartes Didn’t get to experience beach as well as the red flag was up the entire time and we were not allowed to go in.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful Resort

The pool, restaurant, buffet, lobby, front desk staff were accommodating and friendly. The pools and water features clean and being so close to the spectacular beach was a bonus. Really like that we were able to access the other resorts. Felt very safe and secure on the resort.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Excellent resort for relaxing

This was my second time at a Catalonia chain resort and this one didn't disappoint. The service provided by everyone (and I mean everyone) was impeccable. The resort grounds were very clean and there was a variety of activities at the main pool all day (make sure to be up early to save your chair or you will lose out!!). The buffet was good with lots of variety. The a-la-cartes were very easy to book (despite previous reviews) and most you could book a couple days in advance, except the tepp [... read more]anyaki. I recommend upgrading to the Privilege Premium Deluxe room. It was a very modern, clean room with all the bells and whistles. We were in room 418, so if you face the back like we did, it can be a bit noisy as it's a route for the service trucks. You also get to go to the B-Loved restaurant (and that was delicious) and have the use of Pure chill out bar, which is a mere 10 steps from the edge of the pool. Burgers restaurant is also a must try, as is the juice bar, Maloo!! Wi-Fi was very good throughout the hotel. If you are looking for a beach, this resort is not for you – there is a very small beach for Privilege guests that isn't rocky (the other side is very rocky) and the larger beach area is at the sister resort next door. It's very safe as it's in a gated community and we walked 10 minutes down the road to the marina to check out the shops and cafes/restaurant. Or you can rent a golf cart from Paul who is out front of the hotel daily. There is a golf course close by, but seriously overpriced. Check out Nauti Burro and Munchys down by the marina – both make an amazing margaritas.

Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All Inclusive: Wonderful weeks at Hilton Tulum

Just spent a week at the Hilton Tulum, this resort is great everyone was very friendly staff and other guests. Being a family resort I thought it might be overrun with kids, it was not there where some mainly younger children, it was not an issue the adult area’s and the play area’s are far apart. I took the enclave package, other then being in Casa #1 close to the main building I don’t think it was worth the price. With eight pools they where never crowded only two had music and events. The  [... read more]rooms where new and clean, they where serviced daily and restocked, the bathroom area is open so privacy was a little bit of an issue as I was travelling with my daughter. The food was great with lots of options the menu’s in the six restaurants did seem a bit similar but all were good. I have read reviews about the beach not being great, it isn’t large but they kept it clear of seaweed and the sand is nice. The water is beautiful with great snorkelling right there with rays, lobsters and plenty of colourful fish, it is a bit rocky so water shoes are a must. Evening entertainment was mixed with a couple good shows and a few not so great. All in all I would highly recommend this resort and would return again.

Riu Tequila: Amazing week at Riu Tequila

We spent a wonderful time at Riu Tequila between February 24 and March 3rd . Flight with Sunwing from Toronto was ok. All was perfect : room is renovated and very nice, resort is big and well maintained, Mickael Jackson show was amazing too. Ocean water was not very shallow upon entry, and this is something that affected me since i cannot swim, but the beach is outstanding, with lots of palm trees for shade. Thank you What a

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great experience again

Second time in just under a year. We had another great trip for 10 days. Food, service, drinks, room and Grounds were just as before. There was a small amount of construction but the impact was kept to a minimum.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great resort for kids

Different then what we are used to. The grounds are gorgeous - you re in the jungle. Pros: food, service, grounds, activities/entertainment, water park. Cons: rocky beach, pool, rooms and restaurant have limited day light, mosquitos

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Not a happy place

Many, many negative things but also some good. Overall staff morale is sad - especially bartenders who didn't even smile when tipped. It took almost 40 minutes from the time we reached the checkin desk until we had our key. Dirty kleenex in washroom when we arrived - housekeeping mediocre - beds straightened - towels replaced - nothing else done in room until last day - probably because it was tip day. We managed to snag a 4pm and an 8 pm meal because of a cancellation - the Italian restaurant was awesome - the Japenese not so much. Beach chairs impossible - tried to get there 6 am - chairs already spoken for !!!! Pools and pool activities excellent. Buffet meals - 5 outta 10 - no flavors - never hot - a lot of the food actually cold and inedible although chicken excellent Beach rocky All excursions very expensive - sunset catamaran tour nice but way too many people and not enough seating. Double decker bus service excellent in the resort. Resort general information non-existent - us old people like an information guide in the room Transat rep gave excellent presentation but not thorough. Common areas were very clean and the grounds immaculate. Overall I would not recommend this resort if you are looking for great customer service.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Spacious Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Bahía Principe Grand Coba. The staff handled our problems with broken fridge promptly. The central buffet was wonderful. We travelled to other Bahía Principe Akumul and Tulum which were close by. The small golf style buses made getting around the expansive properties easy. We did however encounter some challenges getting our transfer transportation to the resort on arrival. We recommend you look for Nexus personnel in orange when you arrive and tell the [... read more]m where you are going. They will take you to the correct area to wait for your bus. tripcentral.ca were very easy to interact with and provided tour information prior to our departure.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Huge resort

We loved the resort. They keep it extremely clean, very friendly staff. The food is great. Best I've had in a all inclusive. With that blend said I don't think I'll return due to language barriers? We had what we were under the impression is the adults only and fairly quiet room overlooking the pool. WRONG lol. Our first day there we attempted a small nap in afternoon due to health issues. And all of a sudden the music and loud speaker around pool literally rattled the patio doors. When asked to [... read more] move rooms to mangrove side away from pool they agreed and moved us to same side 1 floor exactly ABOVE old room so I assume the noise magically don't reach 4th floor like 3rd? We tried for 4 days to have a coffee mug that fit the in room coffee machine they just kept giving us new big mugs. Finally the final night there we wanted to have room service for a romantic night in so we never ate at restaurants, and pre-booked R/S for 9PM. 9:20 came and no food so tried calling rs and it would hang up whenever I tried so called front desk asked them to call and was assured they would. Nothing we were all prepared for bed so we never ended up getting dinner that night. Only other bothersome.e thing in a otherwise amazing resort was the spa staff!! ? the hound you endlessly to purchase spa treatments! Don't matter where you are repeatedly pestering. We counted 6 times in a 3 hour time frame by same 2 people!
