Sol Turquesa Beach: spent a great 2 weeks

Resort: very big, clean and grands kept well, lots of steps, needs maintain in many areas. Rooms: our 1st room 4.. balcony door did not lock,shower don't have warm water. Manager change our room after 3th days for another room 3.. in new room not working telephone and fridge, they want to change for another room but we decide stay. Housekeeping was great. Food: was the best we have had in Cuba, only no red wine after few days,they would try to sell you. Pools: kept well, clean and lots of si [... read more]ting Beach: waters very shallow, not good for swimming, for few days there were seaweed but try to clean every days, finally was okay. Staff:very friendly and MAKE THE RESORT GREAT !!! Bring with you insect repellent !!! BIG PROBLEM, Russian tourist which were noise, drunk, unpleasant, walk to women toilet, specially at night were noise and nuking to someone doors, no one take care for this from the resort.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort

I was impressed by the service. All staff were friendly , helpful and hard working. The grounds were well kept. My room was well maintained and clean. The beach was beautiful and clean. The restaurants and food was wonderful. My only disappointment was the lack of tomato juice for the bloody Mary's. I would certainly return.

Playa Pesquero: Something for everyone

This was by far the best resort we have been to in Cuba. Iberostar Review We enjoyed our 2 week stay here, hands down! Front desk check-in and greeting was very friendly, professional and fast. Assigned room was so comfortable and modern with wifi service, charging station, and a spectacular ocean view!  An additional screened patio door made it perfect for us to enjoy the ocean breeze anytime! First beach, close by, shallow and nicely sheltered from surf on windy days. Second beach, clear water and absolutely fabulous for snorkelling and water sports. Electric cart shuttle always available and convienant to take us where we wanted. We enjoyed our 4 km, safe, leisure walks along the public pathway of beautiful Pesquero Beach.   Dining room host Uranemi, polite and helpful with our menu selections and reservations. Food of excellent Cuban fare! The good variety of fresh buffet selections and cooking stations were very appealing and tasty. Yainet ready with our morning coffee and glass of sparkling water. We were pleased with our many al la carte meals especially the delicious Lobster Entrees and Milena’s top notch service. IceCreamBar was close to the beach and the server here made this a cheerful and fun stop. Thanks to Arthur and team. “Campari on the rocks, two sparkling waters on the side” yes, BeachBar bartender Henry always showed a lot of class! Swimming Pool lovely, with many comfortable lounge areas and water levels, plus a juggling bartender, wow! Beverage/bar service manager Robert...right on! GM Diego frequently seen around resort, always approachable with a good sense of humour, staying on top. We will definitely return!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great place to stay at Atlantico Guardalavaca

This is a pretty expansive resort with a great beach. It has hotel rooms, villas, barracks and bungalows, two buffets and two ala cartes that are worth the reservation, and they set it up so everyone can GET two reservations in the week you book. That's fair. They will fill your thermos/container with beer, or whatever and that's nice. Everything is on "Cuban time", but its Cuba, enjoy it. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: An ok resort

I have gone to this resort a few times but this years trip was more of a dull trip. There were many excursions available and the beach is still amazing for snorkeling. The beds in the new part are very comfortable. This year the hotel has gone under new management and there were plenty of problems throughout the day. There was no water each day from around 9am until 5 or 6pm. The buffet did not offer many options and it did not change at all any day. The newer pool is already missing lots of ti [... read more]les. There is quite a walk from the new part of the resort to the main part where all the food and pools are. This is a resort to go to if you are not looking to eat much and just want to snorkel. The staff is very friendly and make your stay as fun as it can be.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great place

Everything was fantastic. The food was the best I’ve ever had in Cuba. My room was very clean and the staff was fantastic. I was only at the pools but they were amazing. I would go back to this resort again and again.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Breathtakingly Beautiful

This is our second time visiting this resort, this time we rented a Villa with an ocean view. Absolutely beautiful. We have travelled many places and always go back to this resort for our winter vacation. The people are friendly and always polite. There have been many upgrades this past year to the resort, many improvements. The beach here is the best we’ve been to. Expect us back next year!!

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort!

The resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds were well kept, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the a-la-carte's were great, the buffet was also good plenty of selection to choice from. The pool was very large and clean, the beach was amazing especially the seeing all the fish. Catarman was awesome! I can't say enough about the staff they were spectacular. The entertainment shows were enjoyable.

Playa Pesquero: Home away from home

This place was amazing. The grounds were amazingly well taken care of. The staff remembered you each time seeing you and cracked jokes every chance they got. Sometimes seeing us not needing to take our order because they “knew” what we wanted from the day before. The hotel room was so inviting... best sleep ever. And never out of supplies. Iberostar Coral Holguin: best in Cuba

This is as close to a 5 star that you will find in Cuba. Service, cleanliness, modern with 3hrs/day/person of free wifi. The food is better tahn most other Cuban resorts, but still not 5 star, shortages, lack of spices still exist, presentation however was great, the skae restaurant does outdo itself, possibly 5 star level. The Coral section, with perks, and adults only is so quiet and peaceful, while the rest of the resort is more family oriented, evryone seemed to enjoy the pools. Brisas Guardalavaca: True Posted Reports

Friendliest, accommodating staff ever. A la cartes were enjoyed thoroughly. Buffet and snack areas probably one of the best, too, we have experienced in Cuba. Chairs were set out, not waiting for a staff member, for the ocean experience and first time for us that the ocean was more popular than the pool! Playa Pesquero: Friendly, well run resort

There are a lot of good things to say about this hotel. It is attractive and very clean. Rooms and all areas were immaculate. We were also impressed by how well it was run. There was never a line up. Staff are always polite, helpful and friendly. Service was excellent. The pool is amazing, large and meandering. The beach is not large and is rocky in places. There are several 24 hour options available including a coffee bar and alcohol bar in the lobby area. Lots of alcohol variety. There is a bus into the market at Guardaleva for 5 pesos. The market is not really worth the visit. The public beach there is worth visiting. We met several people who return to this resort over and over. This is a large resort so possible long walks from your room to amenities. We got used to this. This resort is recommended.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort!

It was another time we spent amazing 7 days from March 1 to March 7 2020. We always stay in Royal service, and can not stop enjoy the vacation there. Everything is perfect, we could not dream more. Manager of Royal Service Lina Cordovez Lorenzo takes care about everybody and everything the best way you can imagine. Unbelievable how she can find so much energy and heart to talk to every guest, make sure everything is good for everybody. Sol Turquesa Beach: Super nice resort...

Everything is subjective but we love this resort with a lot of vegetation. It has some very nice pools (cascading pools on different levels). A downside it could be that is relatively large and if you don't have rooms starting with 4** or 5** you are pretty far from everything. Our maid (Ileana) made a very good job in cleaning the room and changing the towels every day. The beach is very nice, clean and with a lot of shade from mangrove trees, but the water it was a little too shallow (and wi [... read more]th sea-grass ) for my taste. On the beach (free) pedalo, kayaking, wind-surfing and catamaran as activities options. The food was a little repetitive and the chicken was not too much (I never seen chicken breast for example). The stuff was super friendly. I recommend the short (free) trip offered by the hotel at the bat cave (Yunior as animator made a nice job).

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Resort

The grounds are very well kept. The employees from maids to floor washers are absolutely friendly and helpful even though some of their English is quite minimal. A la carte resturants were good. The beaches--three were also great, one main beach area and two smaller ones with access to the the reef for snorkeling without leaving the grounds. The mix of people was families to singles. Many Canadians, french and Englishspeaking, Russian, Italians and Cubans making up the balance. Sol Turquesa Beach: Great employees but resort has issues.

We have mixed remarks about this resort. Good, Bad and Ugly. Most of the shortages locals are blaming on Trump and his blockage of fuel leaving Venezuela for other countries including Cuba. Good: food was great for Cuba but missing common items such as bananas, pineapple for the 1st week, and assord booze.... how do u run out of Rum, Coffee and Cocoa Liquor in Cuba? And Vodka? Great breakfast, lunch and dinner! We went to 3 specialty resturants and nothing very impressive. A few people became sick from the "Seafood" including myself and the common entree seemded to be the "Seafood Casserole", all the rice and veggies were cold! The 1st week there we complained we had no coffee maker and the TV did not work properly.... took till the second week to get those problems fixed. Front door and patio doors did not lock properly, front door was fixed a few times but never fixed the patio door ... there is a room safe tho! There are 4 pools including the swim up bar pool which everyone referred to as the "Pee Pee" pool, Could be because there is no washrooms near the pool area! The 1st week was at 30% capacity but after 120+ Russians came in you had to start playing the "towel" game to save a chair in the pool area. The beach had the hard plastic chairs unless you paid extra for "Diamond Club" (I dragged the nice blue fabric chairs to the beach from the pool area). Lots of steps here so if u have issues with that stay away.... we enjoyed the extra effort to get around. The beach is not the greatest but was ok, not good for snorkeling. The french fries and pizza was good from the beach bar. The ugly about this resort is the "No See Em's".... everyone was getting bites, this is the worst i have ever seen in Cuba in 30 + visits. The price was good at $1130 for a 2 weeks stay otherwise i would not have taken this resort having been here 10 years ago and not impressed then for a higher price. We heard the place is closing for updates, my suggestion would be for added washrooms near the pools and beach, better mattresses, beach showers to wash off salt and sand and a pre-check on the rooms to make sure all is in working order. And get rid of the hard plastic chairs at the beach. With these improvements i would say it is a 4* resort but not at this time only maybe a 3.5* But again have to say the food is a 4* even with the shortages.

Playa Pesquero: Playa Pesquero Cuba

I traveled with my wife and stayed there 9 days. We were in the Premium section of the hotel. We loved it there, the staff was amazing, room gorgeous. The personnel very friendly and helpful. The whole atmosphere was amazing. We cannot wait to go back. Food amazing.
