Great resort for those looking to get away for some sun & relaxation. Hotel staff are rarer to please and ensure you have a pleasant experience. We’ve been here before and will definitely come again soon.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: beautiful property with lots of walking

Beautiful property but beware of travel documentation. waited 4 hours for room confirmation. good bed with lousy bathroom and if you lose your bracelet there is s $200 charge. Poor room service. beware, of what you pay for.

Please be careful. We got to resort only to wait 4 hours for them to find confirmation on booking. Beautiful place with not so good service. Bathroom drain leaked. No replenished fridge and if you loose your bracelet they charge $200.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not so good

Pros: nice and clean room, good food, many restaurants; Cons: small beach with dark sand, best spots reserved for VIPs/Lifestyle Vacation Club Members; better service, food and even coffee like espresso available for VIPs only, free internet only one hour/ day and very slow, if you want internet for one week you have to pay 45 USD( cheaper to buy local SIM card with data); a lot of stairs, definitely not for tourists with mobility problem; They lure vacationers to buy membership, sort of share [... read more]s- be careful !!!

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Casa marina reef resort

Overall not a bad vacation - Select side rooms were renovated and clean. Food was above average, staff were friendly and polite. Only negative was beach - closed 5 of the 7 days we were there due to high waves. Had to walk to other beaches nearby to swim in the ocean. Close to town and restaurants nearby.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Okay

The beach is fine. No problem finding seating. Watch small children because they can quickly be in water over their heads. We had several red flag days, which I have found is typical with winter and Atlantic-facing beaches. The standard room was well, standard. Both pools are smallish for a resort of this size. Our room unfortunately faced the pool and its courtyard, the scene of a lot of evening entertainment. We could hear the nightly shows whether we wanted to or not. Fortunately, they [... read more] stopped between 2200 and 2230. Buffet food was well, buffet. Lots of hits and misses. Any time I could have an item freshly-prepared, I went for it. Buffet dining room wait staff had to often be asked for refills on water or coffee. Perhaps there aren't enough of them. Drink quality depended very much on bartender. Of the three a la carte restaurants you could sample during a week stay, Octopus was the best both for food and service. I had a look at an Iberostar nearby, and compared prices for the time of our stay. Similar accommodation at the Iberostar would have cost us another $239 per person. It looked as if it might have been worth it based on grounds and pool alone. I would only recommend Gran Ventana to someone looking for a low-budget stay.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: 2nd time visiting and will return!

This is by far my favorite resort of all I have been to! The staff are amazing, the food is always good, the location is perfect! I don't want to say too many good things as I don't want to see the resort get too popular!!!!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Resort

The resort is very well maintained, the beach is stunning,rooms are clean and large. People are very friendly and the food was great along with the alecarts. We stayed here from 19th of Dec to 26th. You do get vendors on the beach but you say no and they leave. We have traveled to all different places and found the food way better then cuba while paying the same amount to go here. This was our 1st time in Peurta Plata and loved it here as mostly Canadians. We would definitely go back. No wrist b [... read more]ands and you just show up at the alecarts which was great for us. If you had to wait an hour to get in we just sat and had a couple of drinks. You are on vacation so what is the hurry. I can't believe some people are not giving this resort a 4 or 5. You can't compare apples and oranges.if you compare it to Mexico then pay the 2500 a week to go there, This resort was a great price , has amazing staff, beautiful beach, good food, and full of Canadians. Thank you for the great Holiday. We will be back.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort.

We had a wonderful stay and we would recommend this hotel and will definitely return. The food, staff and hotel grounds were amazing. There were tons of loungers at the pool and at the beach with plenty of shade. One thing that needs to be addressed is labelling food at the buffet and beach restaurants. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what the food is. Rooms need to be updated and they are showing their age.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Lost our reservation.

This hotel is an older property, so everything reflected that. Our room had some challenges. The door was tough to push open, hot water was iffy, and the water pressure was terrible. The most unfortunate part was that they weren’t expecting us, and when we showed them our confirmation, instead of upgrading us for our inconvenience, I think they shoved us in 2 of their forgotten spaces. Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Love this resort

Everything is great about this resort except that the food was better when I went in September 2022, this time the food was good but not as good, the rooms are very clean, the staff is really nice and they have good entertainment shows, overall it is my favorite place!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very good hotel and nice people

Special thanks goes out to Glen the fitness instructor who gave exceptional classes and coaching as well as our housekeeper, Narin. Thanks to Bernie the Sunwing rep for all the tips. Will definitely go back. One small comment, it would be nice if all the wonderful fruit juices were labelled. Our travel agent Lisa Selig was exceptional and extremely helpful!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Resort

The hotel had very well maintained grounds. We loved that there was food available 24 hours. The pizza shop, ice cream, sports bar and coffee shop all great. Buffet food was plentiful and delicious and the entertainment was really good most nights. Hardly any mosquitos. The beach had strong waves and a lot of rocks do bring water shoes. Overall definitely recommend and would go there again.

Great large pool with rooms surrounding it. Both beaches were closed due to abnormal waves which was a disappointment to us however we went by taxi to Cabarete Beach and loved it. The dining room greeters were amazing, very friendly and personable. The rooms were clean and well air conditioned. All hand sanitizers were empty though and there were a few guests who were not feeling well with flu like symptoms. They seem to have a problem with wasps in the outdoor bar area and in pool. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Good value

The hotel has seen better days but it was clean, service was good. There was no special covid procedures as nine are needed any longer really. You can order ivermectin to bring home at the customer service desk and a pharmacy will deliver it.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort with very knowledgeable and very friendly personnel

Would highly recommend to anybody and definitely will go back again. Great beach with a lot of mature trees providing natural shadows. Everything is so close - hotel surrounds the pools on three sides leaving one side open toward the beach

We visited the resort as a family of 4. The resort is comparatively small, but very clean & staff members are generally friendly & want to help. Food is very good, lot of options for buffet. A la carte restaurants were good as well, we tried all 3. Entertainment could be improved.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Wonderful Resort!!!

the pool areas are very well kept.. lots of loungers to sit on, the Christmas lights were great, so pretty at night,, the food was good,,, we went to 2 of the restaurants, the Italian and the Argentina,, both were great,, the Asia was too busy, but heard it was good.. the pizza over e big pool was GREAT.. should be open more then it was,, Chicken Wings the best and should have them more often.. We stayed in Sunclub adult section which was great, the bartender super, all day snacks. and the drin [... read more]k were good. Pool is small but very nice. and we went over to the family sunclub for breakfast, which was good nice and cozy.. We also had room service for lunch , chicken club house delicious.. a few went to the disco and had a great time. beach is so nice. the Castaway down by the beach has a bar, but it should be serving food during the day for lunch for the people who want to spend more time on the beach. All in All we enjoyed every minute of Sunscape and would go back in a second.. The staff, well all i can say it TopNotch,, all smiles and so very nice.

Very good location staff very friendly.Food was excellent.Room not very fancy but comfortable and clean.A lots of fun for the children. Entertainment was ok every evening was different show also entertaining for the children too. Ji

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Price was right

The resort itself was nice the beaches were not very clean there was lots of garbage on the beach, I would rate it 3.0 star, the “ocean view” rooms seemed run down and out dated, the food was not the greatest, the Mexican la cart was the best all week, the staff was super nice, it did get quite busy on the weekends as they let the local residents come and use the facilities and seemed like the vacationers got pushed to the side, I would not recommend this resort
