Krystal Grand Cancun: Great value; gorgeous stretch of beach; fabulous care
We loved our time here (the 2nd week of January).
We were taken care of really well by the generous staff, and felt at ease in the space. It’s a smaller resort, which we appreciated — well laid out with lots of places to be, in or out of the sun. Two different pools, with two different energies! :)
Food was quite good. Zero complaints.
We appreciated the local families who were also enjoying the resort, and people from many other countries.
You can walk for miles on this beach, [... read more]and the little corner of the Reflect’s was peaceful and more swimmable for timid ocean folk than the rest. We had fun playing volleyball in and out of the pool, and enjoyed the simple evening entertainment.
We were sad to leave and will return.

Paradisus Cancun: Another great stay at Paradisus Cancun!
Just returned from a one week stay, Feb 2-9th and were not disappointed. This our 3rd stay and the first time for our friends who we travelled with. They loved it and were impressed with how clean the resort is kept, the amazing staff, the beautiful lobby, location and the hotel in general. Everyone works so hard to make a favorable impression and it truly shows. A big shout out to some extra special people, David and Victor at the swim up pool bar who always took the time to chat and made sure[... read more] we had what we needed. Also Augustin who got people involved in the daily activities..even Finger Painting! 😠The only thing we would like to see is a great Italian ala carte restaurant / wooden oven pizza. Maybe next time... 😉

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Beautiful resort
Beach, and resort were beautiful, staff always helpful and friendly. Loved the beach bar service. The buffet food was full of variety and very good ,lots of seafood choices. We were disappointed in the speciality restaurants that we tried Roma and Japanese nothing special however steak house was good.
We would go back again ,even though my hubby got sick ,tested positive for salmonella...but that could happen anywhere in tropics. Just really slowed us down ,glad we brought lots of Imodium, store[... read more] on resort was very expensive.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Lovely ocean view from all rooms
Lovely beach and lots of cabanas. Excellent food selection. Very good security. Staff very helpful and friendly, eg front desk, waiters, lifeguards, room maintenance staff, gardeners. Family friendly but also a few sections reserved for adults, eg French a la carte restaurant and adult section in main restaurant.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Best Resort Ever
This resort was a 7 star!!! Excellent beach. The sand is like powder and you can walk for miles. Food was excellent and I loved that you did not have to make reservations for any restaurants. Room was large and had its own bar.
Only downsides: don't think our floor was washed or swept when we checked it. Bed was a little hard. Air conditioning in main bar was turned up too high - not comfortable to stay for long.

Atelier Playa Mujeres: Amazing
This place was amazing. The food was phenomenal at every restaurant and buffet. There were lots of options and the quality of food was like no other I have eaten at an all-inclusive. I am a vegetarian and was quite pleased with all the options. They even have a vegan menu at every restaurant, even the steakhouse. The the room was really nice and comfortable with a large balcony. We had a junior king suite ocean view room. They stock the fridge and drawers with drinks and food in your room every [... read more]day at no charge. They provide a lot of extras around the hotel no matter where you are, free of charge. Beach was really nice the sand was like white powder. The water was a beautiful blue green with white sand, so it was easy to walk in and swim or wade. The staff was really polite and they were not aggressive in any way. They were never looking for tips or anything they just went out of their way to make our stay comfortable without it being obnoxious. They have a cafe there that serves all types of coffees and lattes and teas, and the ice cream and sorbet there is phenomenal. If you like to work out there's a fitness facility there that is really good. Across from it is a juice bar where you can get smoothies and fresh pressed juices and snacks. The grounds around the hotel are very well kept and you can go for nice little walks. We were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of our stay there is nothing that we would give a low rating for. Highly recommended if you get the opportunity. If you're looking to go into Cancun it will cost you probably about $30 for transportation one way. These new resorts in Playa Mujeres are a little isolated because they're so new and they're still developing the area, however our driver told us that in the next 5 to 10 years they'll probably 1be 12 more resorts along with a bunch of amenities like shopping and restaurants and convenience stores.

Occidental Tucancun: A lot of work required
Hotel itself was fine, clean and easily accessible, although there are a lot of stairs. Food was terrible (lack of variety and always cold). Beach and pools were fun. There are no palapas on the beach, so very hard if you want some shade.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort!
This is a beautiful resort. Well laid out and accessible for all, so if that's on your list of needs, this is the place for you. Check in was quick and painless and our room was ready right away. The room was excellent. We were just in a standard junior suite and it was perfect for the two of us. The open concept washroom is odd, but wasn't an issue. Staff is the best we have ever experienced. So fast, friendly, accommodating and good at what they do. Food was also excellent. Great variety and [... read more]hot and fresh. Beach and pools were clean and tons of chairs available. There was no seaweed the week we were there.

Here's the good, the bad and the ugly:
The Good - pleasant and (sometimes) helpful staff. Can't say much about the front desk staff though. Very clean hotel but disappointed there are no in-room coffee makers for our morning coffee. Drinks were ok. Only 2 specialty restaraunts open - the Steak house served a great hamburger but their steak and chicken were absolutely horrible - dried out tasteless steak and under-done chicken that was like chewing rubber. The Pizza place by the beach served awe[... read more]some pizza. The Mexican place was also open but we'd heard bad things from other patrons so didn't go. Needless to say we are sick of hamburgers and pizza. The beach and pools were beautiful and clean - no seaweed. Wait service on the beach was sometimes there and when it was it was good.
The Bad - the food was horrible. Buffet consisted mostly of fish (we're not big fans). The beef and chicken at the buffet were consistently dried out and very blah tasting. Often there would be empty trays at the buffet that never seemed to be refilled (who knows what they were). We are not late diners and the buffet was open for 1-1.5 hours after we left so why trays weren't refilled is anyone's guess. Lunch was always the same boring stuff and often consisted of leftovers from the buffet dinner the night before.
The Ugly - Our room was on the 3rd floor near the only set of elevators in that wing. On a nightly basis there was entertainment in the main lobby which was open to all wings right to the ceiling. The music was SO loud that we couldn't even hear our TV in our room with the volume cranked to 25. In addition, there was a beach party with booming music hitting us from the opposite direction as well as tour ships that would cruise about 1/2 mile off the beach and absolutely blast their entertainment. Most nights things would quiet down to a reasonable level around midnite but then there's always the drunk stragglers whooping it up in the hallways until 3 or 4 am. Needless to say - don't count on getting much in the way of rest during your stay. Upon complaining we were offered another room on the first floor and only a few feet further from the lobby. Sorry but I did not see the value in packing up and moving just to be a few feet further away - we needed to be higher and in a different wing altogether but they wouldn't accomodate. Can't say that I'd return or even recommend this resort - very disappointed.

Riu Cancun: Not a 4 Star
The hotel is definitely not a 4 Start as claimed. No room service! No coffee machines in the rooms. Food needs improvement! Different named restaurants yet have access to only one buffet! Poor management. Our door was kicked down during our stay at 3AM. We had to move to another room because the door frame was completely broken and the room door could not be shut!! We were advised by security the management would be in touch with us the next day. No concern for us at all. Very poor management!!!

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Beautiful resort!
Beautiful , new hotel. However, they should have an adults only section. Children were even allowed in the swim up pool bars. The food was good especially at the buffet. We were not impressed with the other restaurants because of the lack of choices and some were not opened every day. The best part of this place was the excellent beach which you could walk for miles. It's an upcoming area with lots of new resorts being built. I would not go back here unless I took my grandchildren.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: So proud to love this Canadian resort!
We would go back in a minute! Perhaps it’s best to first introduce the reviewer. We are in our 70's, a Canadian couple who did wilderness canoeing and camping for years- and then sought out southern sun and surf in Cuba. For me, this was my first real trip to Mexico- and I insisted that we try TripCentral.ca for booking. What a joy- intelligent and consistent follow-up, a variety of travel packages to choose from, and extra help in every aspect of the trip.
The Royalton chain, we were happy[... read more] to learn, is part of the Sunwing family company- and attempt to provide extra luxury at a worthwhile price. The Cancan Suites are barely a year old- but the expertise of staff and excellence of design make the place feel well established. We did not use the Diamond Club extras except for one day- but being without that upgrade does not reduce the courtesy and attentiveness of the staff. Our junior suite on the 12th floor overlooked the ocean, had a balcony for sunset drinks and wet scuba equipment, an enormous shower with two different spray systems, a separate toilet area, two sinks, and amazing comforts throughout. (The only extra I avoided was the weight scale under the counter)
And the excellent food services made weight gain the last thing on my mind. The buffet area that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner is exceptional. There's a kids' corner with their favourites, always a fresh juice and smoothie bar, a fish area with ceviche of all kinds, two hot grills with meats and fish or shellfish, a proudly Mexican section, and even a gluten-free area. The crepe-maker (who also handles gelatos and pastries) was my favourite, especially when my husband had them fill mine with chocolate and warm peanut butter. The specialty restaurants are all good as well- Agave the sophisticated Central American foods, the steak house, and the Jade Asian fusion place (no one tossing shrimps into the air and dousing them with soy sauce) Fruits, myriad salads- all fresh, scrupulously clean, and safe to eat.
The hotel is a high-rise with 1 rooftop pool and deluxe bar area. To be honest- the available pool arras on the ground levels are a little small- as is the availability of beach chairs in high season. However, beach towels are big, warm, and plentiful- with no tickets or threats for returning. The beach itself is sugary, clean, and free of seaweed - no problems setting up a towel, building a sand pillow below it, and enjoying the sunshine.
And I can vouch for the attentiveness of the lifeguards, Carelessly, this old lady got caught up in some deep ocean current and needed to be brought into shore by a smiling, calm lifeguard delivered by jet ski. I will be forever grateful- for the rescue and the kindness of the staff at every level.
The bartenders were generous, the service double what I have experienced in personpower and courtesy-- and even the little shops in the lobby well stocked with attractive and well-priced items. My husband found the location ideal for his scuba trips- especially when the entry concierges made sure this taxi prices were understood and shared- and I found plenty to do with books and the free internet all over the property. I recommend a morning espresso from the coffee bar and a gelato on the patio every morning.
I have a 75th birthday coming up. Already thinking of returning to celebrate with staff that became friends.

Temptation Resort & Spa: Third time here!
Recently returned from our third visit here in as many years which is a testament to the resort itself. Few changes this year from our previous visits. We were disappointed that our favourite breakfast restaurant Sea Flirt is now Premier members only for breakfast. Amores is the other Premier members only restaurant. No signage to indicate this and we only found out once seated. Management should consider posting signage to this effect so other guests do not have to be embarrassed by staff [... read more]when asked to leave. No other complaints. Food is always good. Our room was a trendy garden view. Small but king bed was very comfortable and housekeeping did a great job cleaning and restocking the fridge. Entertainment was also good. Play Makers keep things lively at the sexy pool! Definitely recommend a visit to Temptations!

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Family Vacation at Panama Jack Cancun
My family and I, along with friends of ours spent a week at Panama Jack Cancun. The service was top notch. Every single employee was friendly and went above and beyond. We have done a lot of travelling and it did not take long for us to feel right at home. I would like to give a shout out to Enrri who greeted us with a smile and asked how our stay was going every single day. Gabriela at the concierge was also very kind and professional.
Here is a quick summary of our thoughts on the resort.
[... read more]Pros:
- Fun and energetic animation team. They made our days so much fun and we could not imagine out stay without them. Thank you to Lucy and her team; Tania, Iris, Mario, Jonathan, Raquel, Roger.
- Camp Jack. hands down the best kids club we have ever experienced on a resort. Diana and all the girls were so wonderful to our children.
-Viaggio ( Italian A La Carte ) Delicious with very professional and fantastic servers. We had dinner there 3 times. Gualberto & Filiberto are both the absolute best.
- Buffets were average/ decent
- Resort was clean
- Beach was beautiful
- All the night time shows were great. We enjoyed all of them. Popcorn and drinks are provided before all the shows start which we found to be a nice touch.
Cons:
-Room was a little tiny and there was nowhere to really store anything aside from the closet.
- Housekeeping came late in the afternoon/ early evening which sometimes was around the time we would want to get ready for dinner.
- Balcony furniture is dated
- No swim up bar on resort
- Two pools that are on the smaller side
We would to return one day and would highly recommend this resort for families

This is George Kiriakidis from Mike Rowland’s group.
Please note that after checking my Visa statement, I have been charged multiple times for the golf carts.
I was staying in room 7218 with Mr Ed Doyle. Our total bill should have been $410 US and it was split in two between us.
Ed got charged $210 which is correct
I got charged $210 two times ( incorrect )
