Grand Memories Varadero: Nice place

The resort itself has good amenities, but unfortunately, the rooms haven't been maintained very well. And the maids don't actually clean your room while you're out during the day. They come in, make your bed, and then leave. They averaged about 1 minute or less in our room. Otherwise, it's a nice resort, overall. The pools are excellent. The staff are nice (although not as friendly as other places we've stayed). The lobby is wonderful in the evenings. The food was as good as any other Cuban resort we've experienced. The gift shop on sight was nicer and bigger than our last resort. They have cigars, daily toiletry products, snacks, and other nice things. The beach was stunning. As nice a beach as I've ever seen. We always found a spot in the shade, and the water is breathtaking.

Melia Cayo Coco: No shortages here

We went in the first week of May, a short 10-minute bus ride from the airport. It was amazing, great, brown eggs made to your liking, bacon sausage pastries, lots of fruit, watermelon, mangoes, melons, and papaya. Pasta, fish, pork, beef, crab and chicken in the buffet. Pizza is excellent at the pool bar. Lots of renovations have taken place. Entertainment was excellent. It is not a party resort, it is great for a quiet and relaxing vacation. We will return

Melia Cayo Coco: No shortages here

We went in the first week of May, a short 10-minute bus ride from the airport. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great vacation

Beautiful resort. A bit dated but clean. Staff were very engaging and friendly. Pools were great but not a lot of chairs at any of the three pools. Beach was always help clean and lots of chairs. Elevators were iffy. Only one of each set worked however the one that did work sometimes would not show up when the button was pressed. We had to walk the four flight of stairs to our room a lot. The food was terrible. No salt, pepper or ketchup same thing for lunch and supper everyday. We had to go to [... read more] town to get food twice as we were tired of trying to find something to eat. Thankfully we brought snacks with us. Birds were flying all around the food and nibbling on it. This was very gross. This was my first time to Cuba so maybe all resorts are like this with food. This is the only reason I wouldn’t recommend it.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Nice Resort which checked off most of the boxes

I thought the resort was a great value, and the only negative was the beach, which will mature and improve with time. There were no apparent shortages and the staff took pride in their positions. I would return.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Very nice resort

Really like the air conditioning in my room Food was very good and the service at the restaurant was excellent The pool was very clean Improvement: is my fan in my room was not working Need new lamps! And the chairs at the bar are really not comfortable Staffs are very nice ??

Valentin Perla Blanca: Fantastic spot

Great beach , really good accommodations incredible staff, food was quite good , not amazing but very good, biggest disappointment was only 30-40 people there on our week but it did make for a very relaxing quiet week

Playa Costa Verde: Great Resort

It was a nice resort, but a little dated. The service was great with top notch staff that were very friendly and always smiling. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The a’ la cartes were good, but the buffet for breakfast and lunch were always the same. We met people who have come back to this resort several times, because of the great beach and staff. We loved the beach and pool which was well taken care of. I would definitely return again.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort, excellent service

We stayed at Dawa for a week in May. The service was excellent. The resort was beautiful. The grounds are amazing. The beach is beautiful. The pool was lovely. The negatives are there is zero animation, daytime, and nighttime. A couple shows here and there. We had very limited buffet in the morning. Lunch and supper were served in an à la carte restaurant. However, it got very boring at the end of the week. They ran out of white wine every day. There was no vodka most days, but everybody who worked there was lovely. The day we left there were many Cubans coming in for the Mother’s Day weekend, which was supposed to be a huge party. They had lots of vodka and lots of food, etc. available that weekend so that was a little disheartening because it wasn’t offered all week. I would not go back to Dawa only because of the very limited food choices with a resort just down the beach had had quite a few extras from what I’ve seen and heard. But loved loved loved the staff. Our cleaning lady Barbie. The pool bartender Hanny/Jorge. The beach bartender Mary. The beach lifeguard Pablo. They were all so amazing and many many many others were amazing in assisting us with our stay and making it wonderful.

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing Resort

My partner and I visited this resort April 28th to May 5th 2025. We stayed at the Level side; however, enjoyed all aspects of the hotel. Extremely clean resort, stunning lobby area with a beautiful view of the ocean. Beaches are well kept daily, food was delicious and all staff were extremely friendly. Special shout out to Miguey, Claudia, Yani, Geraldo, Ricardo and Yaris. Wonderful cigar bar too! Resonance Blu Varadero: The beach was great but quite far from everything

The rooms were clean and partially updated. They had the buffet closed for Blu so we had to go to Mystique for all meals. It was a 10-15 walk each way. There is a bar before you get to the beach but it doesn’t serve all the drinks and there is no place on the beach to get drinks or snacks. Definitely not for those with mobility issues as the grounds are not easy to navigate and everything is a minimum 10 minute plus walk from the rooms. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

The hotel I was great, the rooms were clean and roomy, staff were amazing and friendly, shout out to Yoseet. At the pool bar, a la carts were yummy, resort beautiful and breach stunning , grounds were very clean and tidy, entertainment in Lobby was great, lots of local talent on the instruments

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Amazing Resort !

This was my first trip to Cuba and I will definitely be back ! So many mixed reviews but my experience was unforgettable. The staff were all so gracious and catered to whatever we asked for and if they could not accomodate , were extremely empathic. The hotel was clean, our room was always stocked with water , and refreshments. Food was great and we could not have asked for better weather. Love this hotel !

Sol Palmeras: Family resort

This resort has a beautiful beach with plenty of palapas and loungers to sit, relax and look out at the stunning turquoise water. With lots of vegetation, it has a jungle feel. Two pools with a central bar facility. No swim up bar, however, so you'll need to get out of the pool to get your drinks. BBQ for lunchtime burgers and sausages, not at the beach but close by. However, be prepared to walk further to access the pools and buffet, as these bungalows are spread out over a large area. There appeared to be a shuttle of some description but it was apparently out of service during my stay. There is one main bar upstairs on the lobby level and a great coffee bar and this makes it a congested area at times. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back. No problems encountered with either mosquitoes or sand fleas, so that is a win, 100%.

Sanctuary White Sands: Plesently Suprised!

An honest review, hotel was clean, staff were very attentive, you could see they were trying a lot to make your experiance memorable! I would go again if the prices for 10 days were in around $1100 CND, with premium service! Beach and ocean were amazing! grounds were well kept pool was clean and refreshing, If I had something negative to say it would be the quality of food and availability of said food! Barcelo Solymar: Very poor, no sanitary measures

This hotel is very large. There were very few canadian tourists when I was there. Lots of Russians and cubans. Several people including myself got food poisoning from the buffet food. When I pointed this out to the assistant manager Christian he blamed me saying I drank too much. And seem to care little. At one point he mention that he had a mild case of diarrhea and it must be something in the air. Idiot.

Playa Costa Verde: Lovely Week

I just recently returned from a perfect week at this gem of a resort. For people looking for a quiet vacation, beautiful gardens, an amazing beach this is g the place for you. The staff seemed happy and the service was exceptional. Food was plentiful and well prepared. This was my third visit to Playa Costa Verde and certainly not my last.

Sanctuary White Sands: Adult Only Resort-Santuary White Sands

1) Upon arrival April 29, 2025 Bedsheets were found very dirty and visibly dirty. 2) Top bed cover was also very dirty. 3) Left 2 x notes for maid to provide new clean ones. 4) The resort design is perfect as many paths to your room, pool, etc. 5) With respect to staff during Buffet for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Too many staff try to offer you water, etc. (5-6 different people) this means too many staff and not organized by section of seating. 6) Staff Meeting required with [... read more] all staff regarding common sense and to pay attention before speaking. Example: I placed food and drink on my table. Then I was told by female waitress - good bye, good night. I then showed her the food at my table. No response from her. This happened 2-3 times a day. 7) All seating at buffet dirty/soiled/greasy. The chair pads need to be washed daily or change the pads to plastic so staff can wipe with soapy cloth at each meal time Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. 8) Hotel Staff at front desk pleasant with a smile each day.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach

I stayed there with my mom for 7 nights. After the initial mixup with getting a room with one king bed instead of 2 beds as requested everything was pretty good. Beach is wonderful. Food was a bit repetitive but a lots of options to choose from. No shortages of food or electricity during our stay.Stuff was helpful and very friendly. All in all very good experience and would definitely recommend and go back.
