Catalonia Yucatan: Decent

Pools were excellent ,, that's where a lot of the action was at. Staff was excellent and volleyball ball was located such that it was never hard to find players there wasa beautiful little Beach area with snorkeling and calmer waters only complaints were that we had a leaky roof (but they upgraded or room) and that the main Beach area was rocky and not super functional

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: amazing resort

Is was an amazing journey for me and my fiance and I would go back with no hesitation. The staff was good and helpful. The food was different everyday we loved it. My fiance decited he will come back for sure .

Grand Riviera Princess: Very Clean Resort

We stayed here over the Christmas Holidays, so it was busy! Cleanliness: Excellent, one of the best I have stayed at for cleanliness Resort activities: I travelled with 2 teenagers. They enjoyed the sports bar, but besides that there wasn't a lot to do for them. If travelling with small children more activities for them. They did have a fabulous New Years Party!!!!!! Resort: Very large, but there are regular shuttles to move you around. I stayed platinum suite and it is a short walk to beach,  [... read more]but about a 10 min walk to restaurants. I found for the the most part staff were pleasant, let's face it you can get a grumpy person anywhere yu go! Beach: Nice sand, but in water it is rocky, like most of the coast here. Platinum section of beach, not enough chairs or staff for this section. Drink service poor at this area. Dining: Meals were average to good when yu got seated. We made reservations the first day we got there for most of the week. It seemed chaotic when yu checked in with hostess for dinner, and not always did they get your reservation, so make sure you have the slip of paper that they give you with your reservation time with you. Restaurants are not well labelled outside, so it might take you a while to get the right one. Rooms: Clean. Accurate pictures and descriptions online. Platinum worth extra $.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Magnificent!

All i can say is that my husband and i take one to three trips per year and we never go back to the same resort but i can guarantee everyone that we will most definitely being going back to the Royal Hideaway Playacar. It is one the most best five star resort we've ever been to. Excellent food, drinks, rooms and beach.

Grand Riviera Princess: Horrible resort

Service is terrible as well as the food. Over priced resort not worth the value. Lobby service was rude and ignorant. Rooms were basic and not cleaned until late in the afternoon. I highly do not recommend this resort to anyone wishing to travel to mexico.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Amazing family vacation

Our family visited this resort in march 2014. We all had an amazing time. The children's pool was our favorite spot! The food was fabulous and our room was gorgeous!! Wish we could go back My children aged 4 and 7 had the time of their lives and ask daily if we can return to mexico

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Great vacation

The hotel is well located . The transfer from airport to hotel was fast. It is à short taxi ride to playa del Carmen . The grounds of the hotel were amazing. We had an océan front room which was Worth the up grade. The beach is well maintained. staff are very friendly. Food was ok.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing resort

Grounds are clean, awesome food. Beach is beautiful , there is busy section of the beach and quite one also. Something for everybody. I like night shows and disco, I'm in my late 40 and love to dance. There is also a church for your soul. I love this resort and looking forward to come back

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Relaxing vacation

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff was friendly, the food was great, and the beach was beautiful. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway at an adults only resort, this is a good place. There is a lot of vegetation which adds to the ambiance of the resort. Although, due to all of the vegetation, you will not find a room that has a perfectly clear oceanview.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

The resort was well worth the price with a nice accomodation, quite spacious, and several good dining facilities. The a la carte French restaurant was my fav. The property is very large and spread out with a trolly train to serve between parts of it. Stay in a facility near the beach ( block # 5 was closest to the pool.) It was a bit crowded in March but typical of resorts at that time of year. Beach water a bit weedy in places but nice beach to walk.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Perfect Vacation!

My husband and I had an amazing vacation here. The food was awesome and there was a great variety of restaurants...we didn't even get to them all. We were always able to find a seat at the pools and beach. There were always activities to take part in if you wanted something different to do. We won 2 bottles of tequila! We got a tour of t [... read more]he area, breakfast, and enough spa dollars to buy 2 hour long massages. Totally worth the time and they weren't pushy at all. The resort is huge and very well taken care of. The only hiccup we had was on the last day, the staff said they would pick up our bags and bring them to the bus...we had to ask and check on them 3 times before they just made it to the bus on time. Other than that small stressful moment, everything ran smoothly and service was great. We even got a bottle of champagne in our room. I would definitely recommend this resort!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Fantastic Resort

This resort is part of a 5 hotel complex and has a "train" you can take from one to the other. However, I feel that the Colonial is THE BEST. Rooms are very clean, pool is terrific(has a kids park) as is the beach and food and special restaurants are wonderful. It would be VERY hard to find a better place.

Grand Riviera Princess: great resort

Overall well kept and great resort.There are many choices for eating with great variety.The food and service was excellent and it is a large resort but never felt crowded at buffet,pools and entertainment.Most staff were helpful and friendly. It is not a good choice if someone has mobility problems.There is a shuttle service every 15 minutes but more like every 30 and often full.Even with the shuttle there is a LOT of walking to get around. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: You won't be bored

The hotel itself is very pretty. Everything is very clean. The food was amazing with to many choices. We wish we would have stayed for 2 weeks I stead of one. We didn't know you could go to the other buffets at the other hotels either. Our only complaint. We had a 1 year old that needed bottles kept cold in the room. When we approached staff saying our fridge was broken we received a lot of attitude! We also requested an ocean view room...it is NOT that kind of hotel. Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful resort

My wife and I thought the resort was just amazing. The rooms were clean, nice big bathroom we loved the shower and tub. The food was great, so much to chose from, the fruit and vegetables were so fresh. We would go back in a heart beat. The service was top notch, the staff were friendly and kind. When we go back we would like to stay longer next time.

Catalonia Yucatan: Enjoyable stay

Overall, we had a wonderful time. People were friendly, lots of Europeans, and staff were very helpful. Grounds were kept wonderfully, and food was good. A few issues with some rooms as this resort could use some major renovations. It is a tired building that could use some pick me up. Beach was great.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Best relaxing resort

I found this resort very swanky to discribe it best!!! 100% must book. The restaurants had some of the most high end food, far surpassing any of my expectations. Service was 2nd to none. It is true that it is not on a beach. however there is a shuttle service that only takes 4 min to get to the other resorts with your own private beach.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Fabulous 5* adults resort

My husband and I have traveled to many 5* adults only resorts. Secrets Morama is in the top 3 to date. Also we have been to 3 Secrets locations. Secrets Maroma is laid out to capitalize on all it has to offer. Everything is only a short walk to the venue. Grounds are well kept and very clean. There is not the tropical lushness that you might see at other resorts but the beach makes up for location. Unfortunately when we were there it rained daily and the concern was that no one slipped. They wer [... read more]e very attentive to that safety issue. We had a swim up suite that was not used as much as we liked due to the weather. We did have our room location moved as the swim up suite was always in the shade so they easily accommodated us to the opposite side of the complex and it was appreciated. When we walked into our suite we had an arrangement of tropical flowers in the room, with a bottle of champagne and a platter of fresh fruit. Nice touch. There are no reservations required for dinner to any of the restaurants with the exception of the Japanese cooking table. We enjoyed all of our dining experiences from the menu to the restaurant atmosphere. There was always music playing even at breakfast which is a buffet. A buffet for lunch also, snack bar area, grill etc. Dress code was adhered to for dinner and we applaud that. It adds to the ambiance of the evening when you see that people have taken the time to add to the romance of the evening. We also enjoyed the drinks and music in the lobby bar. We always had great service in a beautiful lobby. We did catch some of the entertainment which was good-typical of that standard of resort. Better chairs to sit in making it more luxurious like going to a theatre. What stood out for this resort was the overall service. They new our names even though a larger resort than Secrets Capri. When you approached the main pool you had unlimited towels-no towel cards!!!! no wrist bands!!!!. Usually by the time I had approached my wooden lounger with a chair pad towels were waiting for me. Early morning someone was always walking around with cold water bottles. Pool side service was great. They had lots of activities to participate in during the day if you wanted to. They even had a tropical golf mini putt close to the activity bar. Ping pong tables were set up in the shallow foot pools so you were always cool and the ball didn't go far from the table. A nice feature at this hotel is the coffee bar-My husband loved his specialty coffee in the morning-by the second day they new what he wanted. Everything served with a smile. Another feature that my husband enjoyed was the gym. He liked to work our earlier than the times posted. He wished they had added free weights to their inventory of equipment. As a side note-I wish that more people would post gym facility ratings at the hotel as it is important to many on holidays. ) They always had great air conditioning, plenty of towels and water. The equipment was in great shape. We really enjoyed this resort and it will remain a favorite for us. The one issue we saw was for the visitors of this resort. Great service should be rewarded-tip. Although not expected it was always appreciated. All inclusive to me does not include the tipping.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort

This resort was beautiful. People were great and the food was amazing! I was very pleased with the gluten free and dairy free options. My only complaint would be the pool chairs that got reserved by towels. People would have chairs " reserved" all day and not even be at the pool. Overall we had a great experience !

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great resort

Everything was amazing from the food to the rooms, service was second to none! The employees were always helpful, courteous, and happy. The pools were immaculate and you could always get a towel even without an exchange if you forgot yours in the room. The trolley rides were a great way to get around and meet people :)
