Riu Flamingos: Excellent resort!

From the stunning courtyard, fabulous food, clean rooms, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful pools, and uncrowded / breathtaking beach, I will recommend this resort over and over as well as visit again myself. Never have I had reception call (with perfect English) the room to make sure everything is to my liking, and again to follow up on a delivery request to confirm it arrived and was to my liking. 5 stars +++. Well done, Jalisco!

Villablanca Huatulco: A Great Stay!

This was our second year visiting Huatulco and by far a better hotel stay. We chose the package with a mini suite and the buffet breakfast. As far as rooms go, our son had a regular room and that would have been better for us if they had not been sold out. The mini suite has a bedroom loft with a set of steep wooden stairs. A bit tricky to navigate in the dark after a couple of Margaritas, not to mention quite noisy too. Otherwise, we really liked the place. I was pleasantly surprised at how little the poolside meals cost when we got our itemized bill at checkout. Most of the guests were Western Canadians and there was always someone to chat to and compare restaurants and beaches. We found Huatulco to be too hot at this time of year but if we were to return in January or so, we would rebook Villablanca for sure.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great resort

Beautiful resort with a large beautiful beach (but ugly ocean with lots of seaweed), beautiful pools, and friendly staff. In the past I have traveled south in the off season and noticed this time around that service is more hit and miss during peak season (we stayed march 19-26th) and there is more coveting of pool loungers and bali beds in the high season. The hotel has a no reserving policy for beach/pool chairs but do only enforce the rule sporadically (towels were removed by hotel staff at o [... read more]ur favorite pool only 1 of 7 days). This caused frustrations for everyone - those who had reserved chairs to find their stuff moved on only one day as well as those of us who would like to see the rules enforced.... Food is excellent here. I have visited this resort 3 times in the past 3 years and would happily come back again in the future.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Resort

Very well maintained clean resort. Food good. Service excellent. Beach well equipped for sunbathing but previous storm had eroded the sand along waters edge making entrance to swim difficult. Only difficulty was the flight home which was cancelled after several delays. Delays and cancellations are unavoidable but getting information on tha status of the flight was almost impossible. Not knowing what's going on is very irritating.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Perfect resort!

The resort is smaller than we have previously stayed in but was perfect for us. One of our party has difficulty walking long distances but this resort is well laid out and distances to the beach and restaurants were just right. Food at the buffet and the specialty restaurants was very good and the service excellent. The beach accumulated seaweed in the first few days (not the resorts fault) but the staff worked diligently and soon had it under control. Secrets The Vine Cancun: exceeded expectations

Secrets, The Vine, Cancun lived up to their claim of "unlimited Luxury". This resort and trip was first class all the way. Our hotel transfer from the airport was seamless and did not take long. They were very organized at the airport and we were connected with the transfer company quickly. The drive was direct to our hotel and took only about 20 minutes. The bell hop took our bags and on the way to the elevator, we met a representative for V.I.P services (beware). The rep tells you he wants to explain the room credit ($200.00 USD) you received for staying there, which he does, but then proceeds to tell you of a further $400.00 USD you can receive and how it can be used. In the cryptic explanation we discovered that to earn this extra credit we had to endure a breakfast meeting with a rep who would explain the "packages" that they offer for long term commitment to their brand. We declined to persistent, but very polite attempts to get us to meet. Anyway, that is a part of their deal so we were persistent in declining as we didn't really have any interest in that, so don't know if its a good deal or not. We went to our room which was quiet nice in its appointments but was simply a king bed suite. Basic, but quite nice and all we needed. This was the "room of the day, run of the house" deal that saved us over $1000 overall. In speaking with guests who stayed in the preferred levels, they didn't seem to have benefits over and above ours that we felt would have been worth the extra money, although we could have upgraded if we wanted to. The resort is spotless, the staff are excellent, and we developed fun relationships with bartenders and servers in both restaurants and bar service areas, like the pool area, and various bars and lounges inside the resort There were may options and different types of food available. The resort is dedicated to make it a resort where you can relax, enjoy fun times, but it is definitely NOT a party resort and if anyone gets a bit loud or boisterous, staff are quick to address it. They also follow some reasonable guidelines where they can restrict a patrons alcohol intake if it seems that they are getting drunk and out of control. We liked this and felt comfortable knowing that staff watched for this. Security at the resort from what we saw, is second to none. There are staff at the entrance to the front gate, and at the stairway to the beat who take your name and room number, and check it against the master list they are given. It is unlikely that people who don't belong there can get in to the grounds easily. Security also monitors the halls, making sure doors are not left open. We didn't realize that the door handle required and extra action to ensure it closed, and security came to our door to explain that they had found our door unlocked, which was good, but we hadn't been told about this when the bell hop brought us to the room. There are plenty of good lounge chairs, and an abundance of pool towels so you don't ever run out. Great vacation and we loved it.

Grand Oasis Palm: Great family resort

Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Good service. There are several pools and kids are welcome in all of them. Nice, sandy, sheltered beach which means little to no waves. Lots of beach chairs and umbrellas. Great location. Right beside the ferry to Isla Mejures and some pirate ships! Food is good but not great. Lots of options in the buffet but if you have specific dietary needs, you might be less than thrilled. Staff were not very helpful when I asked about gluten-free options.  [... read more] My kids didn't like the kids club. They thought it was too scheduled and not very fun. Their only other kids club experience was on a cruise and they loved that one. I'd stay here again. We all had a good time.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Pretty Good

- great for families with kids under 8 - very remote -there is not much to do at night -we had cockroaches in our room -saw snakes and other critters -great food -there is very little entertainment during the day compared to other Dreams properties -There are photographers CONSTANTLY taking your pictures. It made us very uncomfortable and we had to repeatedly say no to them. - If you have allergies; they will take great care of you. -

Cozumel Hotel and Resort: Excellent staff

The staff did an excellent job keeping the grounds, pool and public areas spotless. The restaurants were also spotless and the food was plentiful with a wide variety to choose from. Rooms were also cleaned thoroughly. Staff super friendly and very accommodating.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Hard Rock is LEGENDARY

From start to finish the whole week we spent at hard rock was absolutely amazing. Food was spectacular, pools were clean we never had a problem finding a towel or someone to get us a drink. We enjoyed the daily activities that were throughout the resort. Kids club provided tons of fun for our eight-year-old. Rooms are nice clean and have everything you need. Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort

Grand Oasis Cancun: Worst Resort I have EVER stayed in, in my entire life

I will start by saying the beach and ocean was stunning and beautiful and the pool area was standard. I have NEVER in my life received worse service. My biggest issue was not being able to have water. I have never called down to a front desk to have them tell us they were bringing water up and just blatantly never came multiple times. We fought the whole 7 days for drinking water which is completely unacceptable! The room was also the worst I have ever stayed in. Filthy when we arrived. It serio [... read more]usly looked like the place got robbed as there was no furniture minus a broken table, metal chair and the bed. The walls are paper thin and connected to the next room with no proper door or lock. My partner and I could hear everything going on in the room next to us. The service at the restaurants was generally poor and the food was lower-medium quality. I felt like most staff was rude or stand off-ish and we tipped well so this was a big disappointment. You can only really get drinks in the pool and it was busy at all times, so getting drinks was sometimes tough. Their website gives false information RE: the upgrade to the black wristband. My boyfriend and I made the best of our trip but I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Super staff!

The food was excellent. The concierge was more than helpful when my husband got sick. The beach was beautiful and we had sunshine everyday. All the staff were happy to work there and it showed. They were amazing. I would highly recommend this resort.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: royal decameron section 5

I all nice resort but some areas were very noise and lots of people. section 5 and 6 seemed the nicest. Lots of Canadian from British Columbia which was nice as they seemed very friendly. Would have liked better arrangement for reservations at restaurants than meeting at 8:00am in the morning.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Wonderful hotel

The hotel was beautiful. We loved the service we received. The food was amazing, the other hotels were also beautiful. The beach was lovely we enjoyed it very much. Our initial room overlooked some area that had trash in it from the workers work station but they moved us when I asked to another room.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Very clean, relaxing vacation

All of the staff would acknowledge with a pleasant Ola and there was always some cleaning of windows, floors, bathrooms in common areas, pool area. The rooms were generous in size and the turndown service at night was always a pleasant refresh of the room. We would return again. All 3 pool choices had something to offer every day. Temptation Resort & Spa: Nice Resort

Grounds were impeccable in great shape and well kept at all times very picturesque. The food was very good the issue would be that during the day after lunch and between dinner there was nothing readily available to eat unless you went to your room and ordered room service. Suggestion would be to set up a BBQ hut off the pool area to offset all of the alcohol being consumed it may make for a better atmosphere. I told them I was in Jamaica and the pool was the most active party area during the day and the pool was warm and made it very comfortable for everyone to enjoy rather than have everyone sitting to the side of the pool trying to stay involved in the activities but staying out of the frigid water. The rooms were small but nice and up to date very clean and kept that way our entire stay. The views are lacking to say the least but clean and well kept just the same. The time share people are relentless and being sales for 23 years I understand their responsibility to the resort and the task at hand for them but No should mean No. The approach they took with us was, " Give us one hour of your time and by the time you have finished your breakfast you can tell us yes or no and at minimum you will receive a $500 credit for a one day pass for two to Desire. " We in fact sat for over four hours and politely told them on 9 different occasions that the program was not for us. Regardless we sat for the entire presentation only to learn that if you sit long enough the price comes down 500% but with all our patience we never did get our pass for Desire so very upsetting. The entertainment was good but only lasted an hour and so at 11pm if you are not prepared to simply dance like you are at a high school dance there is nothing left to do, very disappointing based on it being a resort of this nature

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Good Resort

Overall this is a good resort. large buffet, lots of al a cartes, lots of pool areas, it has a fantastic lazy river. The shuttles around are non-existent but the hotel is currently working on fixing that - so it should improve. Beach is not the best but the snorkling is excellent. Conceirge and front desk help is one of the best I've had at any resort. Rooms are great. Any problems and there right on top of it to fix. entertainment was great. Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Great resort!

I thought its a great resort for all the amenities offered in the price. However I thought it was not fair for me to have to pay for spa services that I booked but could not attend due to falling sick. Even after complaining to Front Desk and the Spa itself, they did nothing to rectify the situation and forced me to pay for those services even though i called in advance to try and cancel my reservation.

El Dorado Royale: Perfect vacation!

Amazing resort with superb service! we were welcomed anywhere we visited in the resort. It is a relatively big resort but it's easy to go around with the great shuttle service they have. Their great food quality and variety was definitely the highlight of our trip!
