Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing Beautiful Resort

We loved this resort, specially the staff. The food was good. One day I asked the chef why there is no fresh onions at salad bars "I love a slice or 2 with my food". .... LOL the next day they had the fresh onion there, which was unbelievable. The nightly shows oh my God specially the show at the swimming poll was wonderful. We mostly go for a week this time we went for 10 days, 10 days went like almost 3 days. The only thing we were not happy was the swimming pools which were not so clean. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Excellent relaxing vacation

the resort was clean including all activities. the staff was very attentative and the food was very good for the most part. The beach was outstanding and it was a very relaxing vacation. resort had everything but was small enough to get everywhere quickly

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Lovely Resort

My Mother and I stayed for our BIG birthdays in February. We had a lovely time and both found the resort to be very clean and well looked after. The staff were amazing! We loved everyone and they treated us very well. The food was not very good but I don't think the food is ever very good in Cuba. The a la carte restaurants were not to our taste so we ate at the buffet which had a lot of variety. It was my Mom's birthday while we were there and the staff made her feel really special. Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointment

We had such high hopes for the Melia Marina Varadero. It was the first return trip to Cuba after several disappointing vacations. We were so excited to get away after a very difficult winter. We arrived late in the evening so we didn't check into our rooms until around 11 pm. We were very hungry. The only place to get food was at the outdoor pool restaurant. We had difficulty finding our way to our room, as the resort staff at that time of night, didn't seem to understand English. Our first room was in the basement, we requested a change the following day. The room was the same but we had a view of pool area. The hotel was very accommodating to the request. The resort was recently built so the grounds and gardens were still a work in progress. Pool area was very nice although it lacked shade. The covered cabana areas around the pool area were extra so they were empty most of the time. Guess you had to pay for shade. The beach was beautiful and we did not have any problem finding seats and shade. Water was amazing turquoise, warm and refreshing...loved it. Transportation to beach was a problem as we had wait 1 hr. until trolley came by. We have difficulty walking so trolley was the only way for us to go. There was only one trolley in operation at that time. I did report this to staff. The lobby bar and outdoor balcony was very nice and we spent most evenings there, although floor service seemed for a select few. Many times we were passed by and had to get our own drinks. We had 2 a la carte restaurants available to us. The Japanese and French. Both were excellent, unfortunately the buffet which we had to eat, at every meal was terrible. The hot food on tables was cold, the cold food was warm. We were concerned with safety issues. If they could cook such amazing meals at the restaurants; why couldn't the buffet be at least edible? The beach bar had a menu, but rarely had anything available. We and others were interviewed, in the buffet area by a hotel representative We expressed our concerns with the food and resort. The insect bites, from the first night we arrived, became quite severe and painful as the week progressed.The bites lasted several weeks after we got home and I have scars from them. I talked to the hotel staff and was told it would cost $150 for a Benadryl shot. I did report the disappearance of my Guess watch, but nothing came of that ... We did have great Waitresses in the dining room. They were always friendly and reliable. We will not return to Cuba after our last vacation to the Melia Marina Varadero that had a 5 star rating. There are many other places to visit, with excellent quality food, accommodations and service. Thank you

Roc Barlovento: nice resort

nice rooms ,great food, very nice people,would prefer beer at beach bar. nice beach nice all around set up The outdoor snack bar is great if you are at the beach you can eat at the snack bar great food and seating areas. Great shows at night all around very nice resort I recommend it to my friends all the time surely will be back .

Brisas Del Caribe: Average

The hotel itself was very old and definitely hasn't been upkept in a while. They had overbooked at the time that we had booked. Our room had a strange smell and the air conditioner constantly made a very loud noise which made it hard to fall asleep. The buffet was not big enough to accommodate all the people that they had booked. We ended up having to wait in a long lineup just to get into the buffet some nights. One major thing that was a nuisance about the beach was that they didn't have a bar. You had to walk back to the pool area or beach grill. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone.

Melia Varadero: Our trip to Cuba was interesting

The hotel Melia Veradero was very nice & very clean The grounds were well kept The people are very hard workers We plan to visit this hotel on our next vacation We have friends wanting to visit this hotel

Melia Marina Varadero: Excellent Vacation Destination

Melia Las Antillas: Best Resort in veradro

Have stayed 7 times a this resort, cannot say enough good things, staff very accomodating, food is awesome, bartenders alway"s remember us, Beach is the best in the world, housekeeping staff very efficient, love, love love the guy|s and girls in the buffett.

Grand Memories Varadero: The resort, over all was really good.

The over view was excellent. The location good security, the land scape was very was amazing. Really enjoyed the second pool where it is designed like it is among rocky cliffs with a nice setting and very good service Bar.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: W

We visited the Sol Melia Peninsula Varadero in March of 2014. One of the first great things about this hotel is the short distance from the airport. Then when you arrive on the grounds the gardens are beautiful. We were greeted by friendly staff and were checked into our room quickly. Our room was clean and the mini fridge was well stocked! As we toured the grounds the staff seemed friendly and eager to please. The pools were all very clean and quiet during the day. A great place to read a book  [... read more]and just relax. The beach was awesome with plenty of chairs to accommodate everyone. This is where the fun is happening! Music, dancing , volleyball...it's all here. The buffets were good. We especially loved the omelet station and the pasta bar. The A la Carte restaurants were easy to book and the food tasted amazing. We would recommend the Japanese restaurant for sure. Great experience and even better food! The entertainment was good. The bar service in the front lobby area was great. The staff was all very attentive and helpful. My only recommendation is that you exchange your money at the airport or in town at the bank. The line up to exchange your money was sometimes long and the exchange was a bit higher. What an awesome resort... can't wait to come back to Cuba!!

Grand Memories Varadero: Great time !

The staff were amazing. There was always something to find to eat. The pool bar was so much fun and the adult section is very relaxing. The beach was like no other!!!! We met life long friends from all over Canada as well :)

Beach is quite a walk from the room. This resort is quieter. Ud hear music only whn theres beach aerobics.or pool aerobics. I say this is perfect for a more mature crowd. No drunks or rowdy crowds. Nothing grandeur. The extra tours are a must . Unless ur content staying in the hotel with your partner all day just eating n sitting by pool or inside bedroòm. This hotel is almost at the end of strip so ud be first to be pick up n last drop off. The GYM . They basically have everything. U can work out and feel less guilty eating. Its a pleasant stay overall. If u like younger party crowd. Ud find this place tooo quiet .if u like peaceful 7 days . you're in the right place

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Amazing resort

Great resort. Beautiful, layout is very well thought out. Rooms modern and clean. Food, well it's Cuba, don't expect much. Beach is really nice. Polls are good. Entertainment is great on nights. Make sure to go to Michael Jackson show. We stayed with large group of 30 people and everyone loved it. Drinks are good. Try the Mikes Café.

Melia Marina Varadero: Best place to stay in Cuba!

Went here for a girls trip and we had an amazing time! Everyone at the resort was very kind and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we neeed. The beach is gorgeous and you can walk forever along it. It's also very easy and safe to go into Varadero.

Oasis Islazul: Quiet, pretty older resort

Grounds well kept and lovely, beach beautiful Garbage on beach could have done with being cleaned regularly. Rooms clean and spacious. Dining room unimaginative, patio lovely. Much nicer when tablecloths put on tables (only happened once)

Hotel Internacional: Good resort but some problems

The staff were very nice and the beach is beautiful but there were a few things that you should consider before booking here. When you book a room, ask for one that doesnt have a connecting door because you can hear people talking in the next room like they were in your own. You should also not stay on the third floor if you want any water pressure at all, also the shower was usually cold. Now this was my first time in Cuba so I dont know how to compare food with other resorts but this food was  [... read more]VERY bland and my stomach just barely tolerated it. You should also consider bringing a mug of your own because the cups they use for everything are about 5oz. Saying that, I would go back with those few conciderations kept in mind. It was nice that there was a place to rent scooters and horse drawn carriages at the hotel that was next door.

Playa Caleta: Great time, great staff!

A solid 3 star, friendly and helpful staff, beach was nice and never too busy. It's an older resort and has it quirks (elevator and some leaks) but staff is doing their best. We were there for 2 weeks in March and enjoyed our time there. Buffet is decent but with the usual repetition, recommend omelette bar and grilled meat station. Best a la carte was the Asian.

Los Delfines: great for the money!!!

Went there last March with my friend. The first room was so small we had to move. But the next morning they moved us to another one. It was a gret room over the pool and looking onto the ocean. The rooms are very clean and the staff great. The idea was to stay downtown so we could visit it whenever we felt like it but we ended up spending all of our time on the beach. My friend stayed there before and she agreed the food wasn't that great. Same thing over and over. Alot of fish which I'm not a b [... read more]ig fan. Little entertainment! Although I loved the location, I think I will go somewhere else. Varadara has the most beautful beaches. It's still my favorite vacation spot.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great beach and pools!!

The beach in front of the resort is great compared to surrounding resorts. The quiet pool was really nice. The lobby bar was the best. When the mojito lady was at the beach bar, her mojitos were amazing, but she was only there a couple days. The iced coffee was delicious! Teppanyaki restaurant was by far the best a la carte but we only got a reservation because we booked 2 weeks in advance by email. Biggest disapointments were the room and internet ( non existent). The curtains in the room were  [... read more]moldy due to the extreme humidity. It was so humid that we needed to keep the AC cranked up or else i felt like i couldnt breathe. It was really unpleasant. I realize jts the caribbean but i've been to a ton of places where this was not an issue. For the internet, we were told their were no cards with pin codes available every day of our trip. If they didn't advertise as having internet this wouldn't be a problem but they don't even have a warning about this. Unaware this would ne a problem, we told our family to contact us by email if needed and we would try to check a few times. My data cost me 200$ for those 2 times i checked my emails. Had i known before, i would have purchased a data plan. Thankfully my wireless provider reduced it for me. So overall, i would reccomend this resort for a first all inclusive or for students.
