Melia Las Antillas: Ok trip with my family

I went to Milia Antillas for 4 days and as soon as I enter lobby I had a feeling it was not going to be good. The room was dated and everything looks dirty. They don't provide wrist bands so when I went to the beach and back I was stopped by security as he thought I wasn't from the resort for some reason, lucky I had a paper towel card that said the resort name on it. It rained one day the entire place was flooded and everywhere in the lobby and restaurant was leaking they placed buckets to catc [... read more]h the water. The staff was really wonderful, I would not go back to the this resort if I ever go back it would be for the restaurant staff. I will like to take back some gifts for them, I feel really sorry for them as they work for $20! a month really sad. This resort is no 4.5 star.

Melia Marina Varadero: melia marina

Very beautiful. Great service. Food was ok. If you wanted to go to the local cities, it would be around 10-20 pesos. Also, when you change canadian currency to pesos you get less then what you exchanged for.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Great little hotel!

The beach was beautiful, the staff friendly and attentive, and the local musicians who played during the dinner hour were great. We liked the fact that the resort consisted of numerous small buildings with mature gardens and trees. The rooms were always clean and close to everything. The food was good but visitors must remember this is Cuba and they are still under embargo so they do not have access to everything other countries have.

Club Kawama: Not a good time

The staff was rude unless you spoke Spanish . The resort was so big it took ten minute just to walk to your room , no transportation provided. Air conditioner broke down called to have it fixed each day they said the would send someone and no one every came . Very small selection of food choices . I don't recommend this resort , on te plus side the beach was amazing and cuba is a beautify place to visit just the resort was a disappointment . 4 different couple during are week stay moved to other [... read more] resorts . Resonance Blu Varadero: Great Resort!!

Very large resort with all the amenities. Great walking beach, nice grounds, clean rooms and friendly staff. Lively resort with something to do for everyone. Food at the buffet was very good with a vast variety of foods. I would recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good Resort but not the best Iberostar

Awesome grounds, a la cartes, staff, pools & entertainment. The rooms were only average, at best. Breakfast choices were the exact same EVERY DAY, not enough variation. Buffet was poor overall. The pool bar staff were outstanding!!!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Amazing resort

Barcelo Solymar: Trip of a lifetime

The pool setting was beautiful, having the beach at our door step was perfect. The food was very tasty, The people that work in the resort were wonderful and just so friendly! Trip central was perfect!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: A very relaxing, enjoyable stay.

This was our second time at the Paradisus Princess Del Mar. Our junior suite was located on the ground floor, and we enjoyed sitting on our patio drinking cuba libras. The room was spacious, and the shower was large enough for the two of us. It was perfect. The young woman who kept our room tidy was pleasant, and always ready to provide extra towels, glasses, etc. For a fee we could keep our room past the check-out time and enjoy the beach on that last day. This is also an adult resort, so there weren't any children . Food in at the buffet was abundant. My favorite was the ice cream, and home made bread. The best cappuccinos were made in the lobby bar, and the Rock House. The Rock house is open 24/7 and served pizza, club sandwiches as well as eggs in the morning. The staff were friendly and happy to serve us. The Club House was a 24/7 restaurant the last time we stayed at the Paradisus. now they serve Tapas,coffee and drinks. A nice place to sit and be served. The French a la carte restaurant served the best beef we had ever eaten in Cuba. We did take an excursion to the Bay of Pigs. We drove across Cuba and saw places we had not seen before. This included a tour of a crocodile farm. Lunch was included, and was excellent.

Hotel Los Cactus: The people were amazing

The grounds were lovely, the pool area was the best with plenty of new lounge chairs The beach is beautiful, white sand, turquoise. waters , and a lot of places for shade although we had to get up fairly early to find lounges in decent condition. The rooms were large but could use updating ,we had a few plumbing issues. The units closest to the beach were the best. There was plenty of food ,while limited in cereals that we would eat. Hotel Los Cactus: Great resort for quiet vacation.

This resort is more for the quiet set! We had a great vacation; until a single father from Montreal showed up with his 11 year old & 14 year old sons. They played loud music that was to their liking and disturbing to those of us that wanted quiet. They did not respect the ground or the people around them; letting their garbage dance down the beach in the breeze, getting sick in the ocean, spitting whenever and wherever they liked. I would return to this resort only if I was guaranteed that this type of behavior and favouritism would not exist.

Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing Resort and Amazing People

We stayed at Breezes Bella Costa for one week including my wife my 18th months old son and myself (29th May to 5th June 2014). I am really glad that we chose this resort. It's a perfect family resort. My 18th son loved the resort and he really really enjoyed. Him being happy really made our stay beautiful. People and service were amazing. The beach was breathtaking. I loved the hobycat and snorkeling. The pools were clean and nice. The food (buffet) was good. Breakfast was the best. A la carte dinner at the Cuban restaurant was wonderful. Italian restaurant was good too. Japanese restaurant was disappointing though. Bars were very good as well. We really loved the restaurant by the beach. I would gladly recommend it friends.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Pleasant and relaxing

Very nice grounds. Plants, birds and ponds made great. Place is a bit old, but in a comfortable way. We purchased the VIP package. It was well worth the price if you take advantage of everthing. The lobster it provided at the seafood dinner was worth it alone. Like everywhere else in the Dom. Rep., it was the staff, the beach and the weather that really made it great.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort, awesome beach

Booked 2 Queen beds, got 1 Queen & 1 cot. Could have switched to what I booked after 2 days! Already settled in so my room mate opted to stay in same room on cot! Nice beach, too bad about booking with tripcentral and not getting room I booked. Shouldn't have to spend 1/2 of 1 week vacation trying to fix what should have been right in the first place!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great way to spend 5 years with my girlfriend!

The hotel, grounds, rooms, restaurants and other amenities were absolutely spectacular. Had SO much fun. Rooms were constantly made up for us and fridge re-stocked with drinks. Bars were great - pool was great. Swim up bar was great. Staff were very friendly and two in particular became our favourites. The maid who took care of our rooms and the waitress who saved a table for us every day at the buffet. We had an absolute blast. The buffet varied slightly from meal to meal, but the breakfast buffet was our favourite BY FAR. We woke up every day for breakfast because it was so delicious. The beach was great and very close to the resort. Mike's Coffee was a great little place for drinks. The shows each night were very fun as well - we saw as many as we could. We had a great time.

Club Kawama: Classic Cuban Resort

The original part of Club Kawama was built in 1930 so there's lots of history there. The beach was beautiful and Fernando at the beach bar made mojitos with mint he bought fresh from the market each morning. The buffet & restaurants were good and the live music was excellent; a 6 piece band at the buffet and a female trio at the Italian restaurant.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautifully relaxing getaway!

rooms: had a beach front room with direct access to the beach which was beautiful to wake up to. Air conditioning was not too much, slight bit of mold around the vents as a result however. Bed was two twins pushed together but done in a way you could not tell - fairly comfy!The fridge however smelt like cheese so we didn't use it. overall, safe, clean and quiet space. Bring a reusable cup as the drinks are served in small plastic cups - means getting up less and better for environment Staff: friendly! and very accommodating, activities everyday but they were respectful and not pushy if you just wanted to relax location: resort being backed by a mountain provided great scenery and privacy. Rustic and laid back feel perfect for recharging your batteries all while being close to hotspots like Havana. music playing in the distance on the beach was nice. A little rocky in spots but beautiful water none the less. Great place to get into snorkeling.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wouldn't return

We stayed at the melia peninsula Feb'14 but we would not return. Don't get a room on the ground floor unless you are ok with the smell of mold. The place was out dated and the food was less then satisfying . Staff was great and the beach was awesome. They did send us to the melia marina for the last 2 nights which was fantastic. Club Kawama: nice pool ! decent food good location

the pool is nice ,to bad they didn't offer some newer loungers by the ocean! overall the place is okay , make sure you spend the extra for the upgraded rooms!!!! that's a must ! location is great no fear of leaving the but the mosquitoes are a nightmare ( BRING SPRAY ) and dont open your windows , food on the resort is actually pretty good but you have lots of choice near by that very inexpensive.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

Always enjoying Cuba.....First time to Varadero. Our usual destination is in Cayos. While down at the beach I immediately noticed the difference in the beach sand. The beach sand in the Cayos is like fine white pepper. Varadero is a little more coarse. If you can transport this "Resort" onto one of the beaches in the Cayos. You would have found paradise.
