I just wanted to say the service was exceptional... the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially our waiter Gonzalo.
The resort is very beautiful and the location by the beach stunning. The food was great with a wide variety of choices.
Our flight was delayed several hours and we were allowed to stay and eat and drink as much as we wanted, plus they provided showers in the Spa, which was lovely.

Grand Sunset Princess: Nice clean resort
The trip was real good , trip central lined everything up nicely. A little mix up on the plane seating. The resort was big but clean and beautiful the people were friendly and all the restaurants with exception of the Italian was very good . One big problem was the time share salsman lots of them and they will tell you almost anything to get you to their sales meeting. The pools were good , the beach was good except for the weeds washing up , they were always trying to clean it up though. The su[... read more]nset side was nice and may go back again .

Grand Sunset Princess: Wonderful Resort
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious and the entire resort gleams. The staff are happy and helpful. The pools abound, the drinks are delicious and a good size and the food was fresh. We loved the gym and the clssses it offered. The only downside was the beach. I will definitely frequent a Grand Sunset Princess in the future.

Moon Palace Cancun: Wonderful Vacation!
The Moon Palace is an extremely large resort with three sections (Nizuc, Sunrise and The Grand) with 2,000+ rooms spanning more than 3 kms right on the ocean. As the pool is right at the ocean, it was lovely having the view while lounging around the pool.
We stayed at Nizuc and it was a very beautiful setting. Rooms were very modern and lovely with extremely comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and always willing to assist.
The Awe Spa is amazing and a must for anyone to experience[... read more]! It is exactly that...an experience!!!
We were travelling as two families and while we all really enjoyed our March Break vacation, I personally missed some things that I had had during trips to the Dominican Republic:
* Given the expanse of the property, there was significant walking to all areas including the pool and meals. There were golf carts that could shuttle you and a coach that ran regularly between all three sections but a lot of time was spent getting from one place to another.
* While there were a variety of restaurants, most did not take reservations so we had long waits to get in to eat especially if you went anytime after 7:00 p.m. I would have liked more options at each section of the resort.
* While there were evening shows, the stages were outdoors and we had rain one day so the Fire Show was cancelled as a result. These areas were also quite small in comparison to the resort size and I found the quality to be okay on the ones I saw. I was expecting more for the families to do in the evening after dinner.
* While there were many activities such as aerobics, zumba, volleyball etc., I didn't find that the staff tried to engage you into getting involved to have some fun around the pool. Our last day however there was an awesome St. Patrick's Day party in the pool featuring a live band, dancing, games etc. that was amazing the entire day! Such a wonderful way to end our vacation! I would have enjoyed seeing a little more of this type of fun throughout the week.
* Resort credits are not as easy to spend as one may initially think as you are capped as to how much you can use for any area (i.e. $300 for spa and in the gift store you can only purchase a very small selection of items) and you have to pay 16% on anything you use. That being said we did the Dolphin Experience which was unbelievable...a must for any family and ended up costing us approximately $71 US which was significantly cheaper than the usual $149 US per person for other experiences in other countries as we were able to use credits! I also had a facial at the spa with my daughter which was fabulous!
* Despite the abundance of chairs around the pool, there are not enough and we found we had to get up early and put towels on chairs just to have a spot.
* This year beaches along the Mayan Riviera are having difficulties with tremendous amounts of seaweed washing ashore making swimming in the ocean uninviting.
The Moon Palace is definitely a beautiful resort with amazing grounds and I would recommend it to anyone.

Samba Vallarta: We loved it
A small resort ,close to our room .The resort was very clean gardens beautiful and well kept.We liked the food ,could have had more variety .My husband is a little more picky eater than myself.
The rooms are in a need of an update we did smell & find mildew .
We were pleasantly surprised by the nightly turn down service,
we really enjoyed this resort.
Unico celebrated it's 1 yr anniversary the week before we arrived. Everything is still fresh and new, but the staff has clearly had time to build a great service team. We were super impressed with how helpful and professional everyone was. And absolutely no pressure to tip (although it was always graciously received) like we experienced in Cuba.
The room was very comfortable - King bed, with a couch and large wood table to work at if needed. Well stocked with toiletries, soaps, snacks, beer,[... read more] pop, wine, and coffee. Wonderful balcony with a comfy love-seat and view overlooking the pool and the ocean beyond. All the floors above ground level are strangely equipped with a large Jacuzzi tub - great for exhibitionists - but hard to imagine anyone using it when there's a pool just steps away. The ground floor rooms have hammock and 2 lounge chairs extending into a narrow pool. We found the west-facing balcony perfect for retreating from the sun in the afternoon. The pool design is unique and offers lots of nice places to sit and soak up the sun without feeling crowded at all. During our stay, we didn't even need to reserve a spot - lots of open lounges which was great. The beach had a red flag up the entire week, so no ocean swimming, and the grass would have made it a bit unpleasant anyway.
One main lobby bar, very quiet during the day but always staffed, and a social spot to hang out in the evening. Very classy and comfortable seats and leather couches, with several checkers/backgammon games tables and a Boston pool table. A second "nightclub" has limited hours but does salsa nights which are cool, although we never got our timing right to participate.
We also took advantage of the "inclusion" spa - a massage and facial for both of us, charged at 20% of the list price - which works out to be about what you'd expect to pay at home. Neither masseurs were RMT's, but we both enjoyed the indulgence.
Can't forget to mention the food - lots of choices and overall excellent quality. The steak at the "steak house" was ok (thin and not a prime cut), but the tenderloin and the seafood at the Italian restaurant were superb. Delicious rack of lamb at the Mexican place. My partner opted for lighter fare at all 3 and was also impressed. Great breakfast buffet - made-to-order omelettes, tons of fresh fruit and cheeses, and hot mexican dishes too. A self-serve Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar rounded out the selections. Super fresh-made tacos by the pool-side were also top-notch, with probably the best fish tacos I've had. Tequila and Mescal tasting nights were right up my alley and gave a good intro to guests on these fine local spirits.
Not much negative to say about the place - and nothing major. The cash machine warned of a 32USD service charge, which discouraged drawing extra money for tips (So bring enough USD to cover tips, if you're so inclined.) They should consider offering a lower fee for the benefit of the staff. The cabanas around the pool are prime spots but there's a stiff daily charge - which may be negotiable since they were rarely occupied. As I've read in other reviews, they seem to cater to corporate events and these take over half the pool deck in most evenings - which is already deserted by 6:30 anyway - but they're the only outdoor dances so if you're not there on business, your options are limited to the lobby bar and nightclub, when it's open. I wondered about the drinks as well - let's say I felt better in the morning than I had a right to. I highly recommend the Don Julio Blanco, the Corona (cans) and the house Merlot - no complaint from me on any of those tasty treats.
We'd both be happy going back. None of these negatives took away from a great vacation at Unico Riviera Maya!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful resort but both kids were extremely sick from something they ate/drank
The property was beautiful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were small and bathroom fans - while present - did not work. Pools and beach were clean. No issues finding chairs.
6 out of our party of 8 were violently ill (throwing up for 12-15 hours straight) during our 7 day stay. We travel frequently so nothing but bottled water was consumed - even teeth were brushed using bottled water. The sickness came from the food/drink served on site.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great 2nd Stay at Sian Ka'an
This was our second stay at Sian Ka'an in Riviera Maya. They had a nice set up for our honeymoon once we arrived. Champagne, rose pedals, gift bag and chocolates. The service was stellar. Maria in the lobby bar, Carlos at the Sian Ka'an beach bar were amazing.
One morning, Paula in the lobby asked us for some feedback and one of our friends mentioned that it was disappointing that they no longer were offering real top shelf booze such as Grey Goose. We heard that Don Pablo had died and his dau[... read more]ghters were making a lot of cuts. Paula made sure that our friend had access to top shelf booze for the rest of the trip but we didn't use it. I asked for a real ketchup bottle at breakfast because I hated the little packs, and she brought me one from home the next day! lol. Amazing.
Overall the service is unmatched but after being there twice we feel it's time to move on and explore other resorts or different types of trips.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Great Resort
Rooms are amazing, very large with huge patio or balcony. Service is awesome. I only have one complaint, the very small mosquitoes. You could barely see them, they loved me so I had multiple bites. However, my husband did not have a single one.
This is an amazing 5 star resort where the staff are friendly, kind, helpful and plentiful. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The food is wonderful although we mainly ate at The Grill. The rooms are gorgeous and the housekeeping staff do an excellent job. I enjoyed the turn down service as well. Our swim up room was on the heated pool thankfully since the weather was not very hot. I wish they would heat the pool with the swim up bar. They have daytime and nightly entertainment which I wou[... read more]ld call average. The beach has many palapas to sit under, but is not good to swim in due to an abundance of seaweed. The staff work tirelessly to clear the seaweed from the beach. Overall it is an truly amazing resort!

Excellence Riviera Cancun: THE WORD "EXCELLENCE" DESCRIBES IT ALL!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun and no words can truly describe our experience. This resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The management and staff pay attention to every detail to ensure you are pampered and cared for. It is the people who work at this resort that make it stand out above the rest. Everyone smiles and greets you with a genuine "Hola" to make you feel welcome. The food was incredible, the pools were amazingly clean (we wer[... read more]e fortunate to be near the heated pool), the grounds were cared for to perfection. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a place to unwind, relax and get pampered! My only suggestions would be to perhaps have more heated pools so that guests would be more inclined to swim on cooler days. The pools can be very cold, even the swim up bar. Some days there was no one in the water as they were so cold. Also, we wished we could have a better variety of night time entertainment, perhaps that was more reflective of the culture.

Club Med Ixtapa: great family resort
The resort was great for our large group of families - small enough that we could always find each other but spacious enough to have time to ourselves. There were large connecting family rooms, very good food at the buffet restaurant and a beautiful sandy beach with no rocks or weeds. The grounds were clean and the staff were gracious. Loved the sports programs including trapeze, archery, soccer, beach volleyball, bacci and basketball - the kids used these facilities daily. The only criticis[... read more]m I would give: We would have liked to have a balcony (not aware that this was not the case until arrival) and the rooms are dated. Otherwise great family holiday and perfect weather in March.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Very nice resort
Hotel itself was very nice and very clean with the acception of sewer smell in the bathroom of out room that would only be in the evening. The llocals and personelle that waited on us were very friendly.
The only negative draw back was that we were not informed from Susan Snyder that arranged the reservation , she failed to inform on how far the hotel was from the airport. It took us a 2 hour drive.. had we known beforehand how far out distance i wouldn’t have booked this hotel.
Not mu[... read more]ch night life. Only 1 show a night. And everywhere we went we felt obligated to tip because the personelle would ask for tips.
The beach was nice but had too much smelly seaweed all along the shore . It was not pleasant to look at everyday and smell. The last day we were there they passed a tractor collecting all the seaweed. This should have been done when people were not on the beach.
Not much room to walk on the beach or grounds.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Mixed feelings
There is no better location in Cabo. A two minute walk to town, incredible view of the ocean and marina and a beautiful beach.
The food was good but not up to other Breathless high standards. Limited nightlife at the resort, plenty in town.
It claims to be a singles Mecca, it’s mostly a couples resort with bachelorette and bachelor thrown in.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Love this resort, this was our 3rd visit!
The Royal Decameron Complex is a great place to stay with your family. So colourful and bright. The rooms are clean, lots of options for swimming and eating The staff is exceptionally friendly. The beach goes on for miles. The free WiFi is slow and only available in lounge areas. Totally sufficient to upload pix to Facebook and drive your friends nuts. The best thing about this resort is that it is 20 minutes from the PV airport. It is right beside the town of Bucerias, where there is a m[... read more]arket and lots of local restaruants and shopping. You can also grab a cab and go to Sayulita that is about 40 mins away. We took the local bus at the top of the road. 22 mx pesos for the ride one way trip. A cab ride to the Malacon in PV was 320 pesos.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fantastic Resort!
This is our second visit to this resort and we will return again. We have stayed at many different resorts in many different areas and the Bahia excels in every way! Delicious food with a varied selection, clean facilities, friendly and efficient staff that is always willing to be of assistance. We really enjoyed seeing the wildlife on the grounds ... iguanas sunning themselves, the tejones were fun to see, raccoons (mapaches). The grounds had a jungle feel to them and the wild animals enhan[... read more]ced our experience. It is nice to see that a resort can still allow some habitat for the animals to live.
Really enjoyed Espanol lessons with Erick by the pool ...he was fun, friendly and patient.
We went on a Nature EcoTour which was really informative and proceeds go to help the environment. These can be booked right from the hotel.
Our only problem was with Best Day tours ... they are located in the hotel. We paid more for the tour than the other groups out by the pool were charging as they promised a quality tour. This did not happen ... we arrived at the site of Tulum and did not have a qualified tour guide ... we were looking forward to an informative tour as we saw other groups around us receiving. We were given a very short explanation of what we were seeing and then left on our own. We paid for a complete tour with a qualified guide. When we returned from the tour we explained our problems to Best Day tours and were given a 'run around' that they would rectify the situation. They admitted that we did not have a qualified tour guide, but stalled us till it was time for us to leave. We would recommend to 'stay away' from Best Day Travel Tours which are affiliated with West Jet and book with one of the other tours that are located around the pool. We did book other tours with the other groups and were very pleased.
Other than this one negative experience our vacation at the Bahia was positive!
Booking with Trip Central worked out well for us and our rep Michelle Turco was helpful and efficient.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Fantastic Resort!
The friendliness and cleanliness was above par. The food was outstanding and options were many. The drive to the resort was about an hour from the airport but well worth it for that location. The beach was primarily Iberostars and was kept very clean. There was evening entertainment if you were looking for something to do or you could listen to a band at one of the lounge bars. There was a beautiful scent pumped across the foyer of the resort that was tropical and appealing to all.
