Barcelo Solymar: Great Resort with 2 in 1 Experience

We booked our 5 day stay at the Barcelo Solymar Arenas Blancas and were really pleaesd with the entire experience. There are 2 sides to the resort therefore you can use all amenities in both including the pools, gym, and restaurants. the food selection was great with several restaurant choices and the staff was also great. We booked an excursion through the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach access was also amazing. There are plenty of lounge chairs and activities going on. Memories Jibacoa: Resort that will not dissapoint you

Very clean resort, friendly staff, good food choices, enough entertainment and options to make your stay enjoyable, tailored for people without kids. Beautiful beach, swimming pool with 2 Jacuzzi. If you are looking for a quite resort, or to be close to Havana for daily visits, look no further.

Melia Marina Varadero: Special resort

We stayed here shortly after it opened in dec2013 ... Resort is beautiful, very modern , lots of shops, friendly staff, great food, nightly entertainment and beach is so amazing overall can not wait to go back

Roc Arenas Doradas: good for the money

The hotel was very clean and the staff wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. We went in late March and the misquotes were horrible. Alot of people were badly biten. Spraying would help. The food was good and service was excellent.

Hotel Los Cactus: Very well maintained, peacefull

Beautiful grounds, excellent staff,perfect size of resort, beautiful beach,excellent location, very nice garden suites,enough lounges ,and shade,lot of bars, nice beach bar and barbecue, nice entertainment.

Resonance Blu Varadero: enjoyable vacation

I have been to many resorts in cuba. This is by far a very good one. The weather was fantastic, the employees were great. The beach was the best beach I have been to with plenty of space for everyone, plus you can walk for miles. The food was good- lots of choices on the buffet which doesnt happen very often at a cuban resort. There was many excursions to go on plus many things to do at the resort. We stayed close to the beach which was great but to get to the buffet was a hike. Also in Varadero if you leave the resort expect to be bugged a bit more then before on tipping everywhere you go. But the people are very friendly and it is a very safe place to travel. Overall I highly recommand this resort- Memories did a fabulous job to make our vaction worth while.

Roc Barlovento: great hotel

We have been to the Roc Barlovento 5 times in the past 3 years. We have enjoyed every stay and are going back in October with friends. We truly loved where it is located, close to the market places and cafes, so you can walk there in minutes. The staff there is very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They have been doing a lot of renovations to the rooms and other areas and has only increased the service and comfort of your stay. We have also meet numerous people there who have become good friends and we meet there at least once a year. The beach and pool areas are well maintained and very clean. The food is very good and plenty of it. Katia who is in charge of Customer's Relations is very friendly and goes out of her way to make sure that everyone has an enjoyable vacation without any mishaps to mess things up. I would truly recommend this as a Holiday you will never forget.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort.....but too big for Cuba!

The grounds were very well kept, people were fabulous, rooms were very nice, beach was very nice, the guy who sold fresh piña colodas on the beach was amazing....and the pool was one of the nicest I have been to!! The problem was that they kept running out of things....like Vodka..?...and Ice for drinks...?.....and food...?..... I don't think Cuba is capable of running a resort of this size.....especially in Veradero.....this is the second time this has happened to us in Veradero.....so, we pro [... read more]bably won't return to Veradero again.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories Varadero

The hotel grounds were lovely and the staff fantastic. We had nothing but troubles with our room however, night 1 no bed for my 11 year old daughter until 2 am, no air in master bedroom, night 2 door key would not work, it took nearly 2 hours to get into out room by the time help showed up, no air in master worker arrived at 2 am (after we were all asleep) but could not get the ac working, night 3 could not leave the room as the door would not lock, another hour wasted. workers once again arrive [... read more] in the middle of the night to repair the ac, we still have not had a good night sleep since we arrived. I travel to relax and like to enjoy a nice quiet cigar and drink in the evenings and there was no place on this resort were that was possible. The constant hum of noise and that feeling of hurry up and wait because the resort was so large was horrible. It was quieter walking the streets of Varadero than on the resort. I have taken over 20 trips south and several to Cuba, this resort was by far the worst vacation experience that we have ever had.

Barcelo Solymar: amazing hotel

The hotel is very clean and neat. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Its close to downtown and beach. They have activities for kids and adult every day. I pretty much enjoy my vacation in this hotel.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Resort

Great Hotel very relaxing staff very nice and very helpful. Beaches are nice and the entertainment shows at night are excellent. You can go for a walk or literally just dance the nice away. You will definately enjoy your stay.

Sol Varadero Beach: Not so amazing resort

:This was our first trip to Cuba and we weren't quite sure what to expect. The food was better than adequate comparing to the Domincan.....bar drinks were quite good.....the whole resort was very dated and in need of MUCH repair....rooms were in poor shape and the washrooms were laughable....I decided to pretend we were in shabby sheik for the stay....no point in getting too worked up, as this side of the resort was at least lively....if we had complained they put you in the other side which see [... read more]med like a retirement villa!! LOL We travelled with our Daughter, Son in Law , adult son ( who shared our room on a cot!! He however moved it out on to our balcony and had an amazing alfresco room for the week!) and 2 small grandchildren. The service on the resort was hit and miss...basically ignored until a large tip was put on the bar (that was for ice!!) All in all it was a terrific holiday....car rentals directly across from the resort....Havana an hour trip .....a very interesting hour trip away!! Sand flees were ATTROCIOS.....Beach closed most of the week due to waves...pools were clean....large parts of the resort were actually abandoned or closed up......

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very Nice Resort

We stayed at Ocean Varadero El Patriarca in April. The resort is 2 years old, very nice. Our rooms were amazing, the food was good, the restaurants were excellent, the resort was very clean, Doctor services amazing and the staff were very friendly. The beach was nice, very high waves that we enjoyed splashing around in. The only issue I had was the sand fleas. I went with a group of 14 and i was the only one impacted. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Fabulous new resort in Varadero

Ocean Varadero El Patriarca was a destination for our anniversary and though we were very disappointed in our last trip to Cuba seven years ago (in Cayo Coco), we decided to try the island again, but at another location. What a pleasant surprise!! This resort was fabulous, with spacious, modern and well-appointed guest rooms, and architectural detail and high end finishes in the common areas. The resort is well laid out out, and all dining locations and a la carte restaurants have above average  [... read more]menu selections, including steak and seafood. It opened one year ago, and Management and security are very involved and very visable every day, to ensure that this upscale resort is well run. The staff is outstanding and very accomodating, and you can do as little or as much as you chose. The night life offers something for everyone, including a fabulous piano bar each night with live entertainment, a disco, a quiet lounge for a coffee and cognac and of course the nightly cabaret shows. Tours and excurions are easy to arrange and not expensive. There are three a la carte restaurants on site, with no restrictions, but reservations are definitely required. We plan to return next year!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great place for a group

Went with a group of 6 people. Great time all around. Lot's of food variety which is great when travelling in groups. The swim up bars are a little small but the pool is great. Highly recommend the ocean views

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort for families and singles.

Riu Varadero was a great resort. The grounds are maintained beautifully, the resort is clean, the entertainment is exceptional, the beach is great with areas of sun and shade and the pools are perfect for everyone young and old. I did experience some issues with the air conditioner and plumbing in my room but the staff's response was prompt and courteous. After a quick look by a mechanic, they determined they could not fix the problem and quickly changed our room. I was travelling with my 1 year [... read more] old and they provided porters to help us move into the new room (which included having to move the crib that they provided for my son). The food was your typical Cuban food. With the exception of the gourmet a la carte, I would recommend staying at the buffet. Overall I was happy with the resort and I think it provided good value for money. It's also a huge resort which means they have options for families, singles, young and old.

Sol Varadero Beach: Sol Sirenas

I am a student. For the price and experience it was great. The beaches were fantastic compared to surrounding resorts. However, the food was awful. You hear about Cuba's food being terrible and think "I can manage for a week..." Well at the Sol Sirenas trust me you can not. It was horrible. The rooms were not the best however clean. Memories Jibacoa: Better than we expected!

This was the first time my husband had ever gone to Cuba and my 5th time, but both our first time at this hotel. Everyone was telling him how terrible the food was going to be and how Cuba was not a great place to go. To our surprise, the food was better than we expected. There was always a variety of foods and different themes every night. Don't miss out on lobster night on Wednesdays! Since we enjoyed the buffet, we never bothered to go to any of the a la cartes. Everynight at the buffet, ther [... read more]e was always a live band or musician playing while you eat. The room was average and a bit outdated. What was odd was that we had to lock the door from the outside and inside with our key. There was a lock vault in our room to put our valuables. Our t.v. was the big tube type but other rooms had flat screens. The room smelled a little musty but the air conditioner worked very well and at times, we had to turn it off because the room got too cold! The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. On the 2nd night we had a problem with our iron and they came and replaced it right away. The only thing that was disappointing was their gym equipment. It was right beside the dive shop and obvious that the sea air had taken a toll on them and most of them were quite rusted. The beach had white sands but the ocean was a bit rocky. This is ideal if you like to snorkel but not for the average beach-goer. I did a lot of scuba diving and we started from the shore and dove the rest of the way into the ocean. There was also a tennis court and a basketball court. Every day there was a hiking tour and our Sunwing rep was really informative and very good. The entertainment was pretty good. I'm not normally one to watch a magic show but before I knew it....I ended up being entertained and watched the entire show!

Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort for families with young kids!

This was a great resort for families with young children. Some parts of the hotel exterior were a little worn looking, but that didn't affect our stay at all. The beach was clean and the water was clear!

Resonance Blu Varadero: A wonderful family resort!

We travelled to this resort and we arrived late at night, my first impression of the staff were rude and very unprofessional and treated us like a heard of cattle. Things definately got better the next day, the resort was lovely and the staff in the resturants were great, even the gardners we very friendly and sweet, the food was pretty good for "Cuba". My family would definately go to this resort again as we know what to expect now.
