Cayo Levantado Resort: When I win a Million!

When I win a million I will take my whole extended family to Levantado.! They would have so much fun, and be relaxed at the same time. We had rain, lots of it, very little sun but still had lots of fun. Where do I start. The staff are great, starting with our butler Leiny, who surprised us with a bubble bath, flowers and candles after a long sunny day at the beach. The f [... read more]ood was fantastic, the Don Pablo restaurant was beautiful, meal fantastic, service 4 star. The pools were great, a quiet pool and another one accessed by stairs or an elevator at the beach, everything impeccable.. Activities all day long if you wanted it. The biggest cheers we heard was the Boce ball game players and winners.. they had a hoot. This resort had something for everyone. Oh I slept like a log every night.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Very nice resort

Great resort, clean rooms and lobbies. Buffet food could have different selections daily and could be hotter, good overall tastes. Al a cart restaurants had good to amazing food. Gourmet restaurant had amazing steak, cooked to melt in your mouth perfection. Wifi was off and on. Power went out 2 to 3 times per day. Quiet pool had noisey nearby deisel engine running daily.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: 2nd Time Here, Will be a Third!

This is my second trip to the Esmeralda with my son. A great resort if you are traveling solo, with older offspring, and now it looks like it will be for the younger ones also. I can't say enough about this resort other than, if you do not enjoy this place, I do not know where you will go to find nicer staff, great food, incredible beach, and beautiful surroundings at such a reasonable price. Special thanks goes to Rosa and Pedro would made my breakfasts special. Nothing like a smile and a hug to start your day. And Enrique at the pool bar, who was so happy to see us the second time! He actually remembered us. Wow. Can't wait to go back!. .

Paradise Playa Dorada: Great Resort

Just back from a week's vacation at this resort. Stayed from April 15-22/17. Great spot. Although we had rain most of the week, we were still able to find something to do. There was entertainment each night. The shows were awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and always happy, even on the rainy days. Our maid was amazing. Would definitely go back again.

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Justifies the 5 star rating

this resort opened only some 10 months ago but seemed mature both the grounds and buildings as well as the staff. The food was plentiful and nicely presented. The staff was very friendly and helpful..Our room was large with an additional sitting area inside and 5 separate sitting areas on the veranda which surrounded 22 sides of our room separated from the room by glass. Although our building was adult only we were surprised to see many families accompanied by children who had full access to the [... read more] facilities including visiting at the pool bar and ordering virgin cocktails. They did not diminish our experience but guests need to be aware that there may be a good number of children present Pools and ocean are immediately adjacent to the other facilities and minimal walking is required and for someone with a disability rides are available. We thought that communication between management and guests could be improved

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great place!

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this resort and this time I stayed for 2 weeks. The main beach is great for swimming but was rough for several days so on those days I stayed near the pool. There are 3 bars at the ocean side and 3 restaurants and 3 pools. The view from the new bar beside the Jacuzzis is a great place to enjoy the view of the ocean and Puerto Plata in the distance. There are some activities within the resort like the standard pool-side shows, snorkeling, scuba and kaya [... read more]ks. You can walk out the resort right into the town of Sosua to enjoy the nightlife of bars and a discos. There are also the shops along the public Sosua beach. This resort is 15 minutes from Cabarete beach, 15 minutes from Puerto Plata and there are number of other activities like Sea World, zip-lining and horseback riding as well. I met several people from Canada, US and Germany while I stayed there. It was a lot of fun and I intend to go back.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great Resort

Very clean resort, Liked the service and food. The beach was also kept well, cleaned daily from the wash ups. The pool area could use more chairs. Would definitely return to this resort. Overall this is a good resort for the value.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Very nice resort!

We had an excellent week at this resort(no thanks to the weather)...the food was amazing, grounds were beautiful, pools were clean, rooms are a little dated(no big deal), service was top notch. BUT TOO MANY STAIRS!!

Riu Merengue: Excellent holiday

Holiday started great. Room was always very clean, fresh towels daily, they would stock bar fridge every 2nd day. Never had a bug in our room the entire time. Excellent water pressure and always hot water whether morning or night. Food was remarkably good. Breakfast omellettes were fantastic, fresh pastries, coffee pot brought to your table. Smoothie bar. Lunches were okay but if you get a chance to have the special lunch made by the pool at noon, that was a nice surprise (cooked chicken,  [... read more]paella, Mexican pasta and all with a special punch drink). Dinners were very good at buffet. They tried to add different foods nightly, Saturday was the best w a Mexican night. Only went to Steakhouse restaurant because Italian was closed at the Village in mid April. Steakhouse was nice (definitely not Cnd Steak) but no complaints. Wifi was best early morning in lobby and two devices only. Lots of people rely on phones etc so lobby can get busy. Bars were all well stocked, most staff spoke pretty good English. They had different drink specials. The slush machines are okay but as soon as you add the booze they are not as slushy. Beer is Presidente but very good. Saw three shows and you can watch at either resort Merengue or Bachata, they seem to alternate days. (Michael Jackson, African and Magic Show.). All excellent. Unfortunately little to do as far as activities for kids but that could have been because we were in April. Spent most of the time on beach, ping pong, volleyball, and basketball. Village pool is the quietest all pools very clean and you can get fresh towels whenever you want. We didn't have to get up early to reserve a chair at pool. Village tons of chairs and same at beach. Garden area or bachata the chairs under the huts went first. Overall for the price we paid for a family of four we had an excellent time and no real complaints. I would give this resort a solid 3.5/4 star

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Good - 4 star

This is our fourth visit to a Bahia Principe Don Pablo resort in the last year. The Resort is what you would expect from Bahia Principe Don Pablo. We stayed April 15-22 and stayed in building 53. A few positives: - meals at the Brazilian and Don Pablo a la carte restaurants were amazing - rib eye and tenderloin (Brazilian) and duck (Don Pablo) were some of the best we've had anywhere - it is nice they have three pool areas - the quiet pool, the party pool and Jacuzzi pool right beside th [... read more]e beach - the grounds and rooms are really well maintained and clean - lots of lounges at the beach and pools and lots of shade protection A few negatives: - checkin was 1.5 hours late and they didn't seem to have the staff to handle room turnovers to make the 3 PM checkin time - Some staff are excellent but others are almost non communicative - they do run out of certain brands or liquors as well as mixes e.g. we could get cosmopolitans day 1 and 2 and then they ran out of cranberry juice and never had it re-stocked for the balance of our trip - Internet, although free, is 'iffy'. Download speed is only .7 Mbps and up is 25 Mbps - I would not recommend the seafood a la carte restaurant. The seafood is better at the buffet - Booking a la cartes was difficult when we visited. I'd recommend jumping on the wifi when you arrive and book the restaurants using the Bahia app - Power outages happen many times daily and only for about 60 seconds each time. The diesel generator is located near the quiet pool and ran for two pf the three days of our visit - it is loud and the fumes are unpleasant - public washroom toilets are sometimes plugged but that is because guests try to flush tissue rather and put it in the garage - the beach and ocean are fine but not the what you'd find in Punta Cana - just a heads up if you're a beach lover Overall, another positive Don Pablo experience with a few hiccups. I would return.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Not too bad ...

I traveled with my friend and her mom the last week of March. Our flight was delayed so we only arrived at hotel around 11pm. They had upgraded my friends but left me on the opposite end of the resort in a room by myself.. after much discussion and involvement of our sunwing rep Santo, they finally moved us close to one another. The front desk staff are not very obliging or accommodating as a rule... money talks I guess. The food was good as were the rooms. We played the towel game for chairs with security and had great loungers every day. The vendors in the beach as well as the picture with my monkey were a pain in the butt!! they were only allowed up so far and then at 5 they turned into drug dealers. not so fun. Beach was great as was the water.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Tropical Paradise

This is our THIRD visit to this resort. (2 weeks of sun ) Since the last time (it was the Be Live Grand Punta Cana) the resort has gotten larger. There are now 16 villas to accommodate tourists. The whole resort is VERY BUSY..........it is the most booked resort on the beach of Cabeza de Toro. Food is VERY GOOD with many a la carte spots as well as Windows buffet. Staff could not be better with the rooms very well cleaned. We stayed in building 11 and had a room overlooking the Marina on the [... read more] third floor..............well worth the extra price to have the patio looking at the beach. There is a two tier system now with the all inclusive you buy and then the VIP upgrade ............PLEASE check this out carefully $$$$$ We go for some quality down time, THE BEACH for walking, good food.............not a go go go vacation. Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Very pretty

The grounds very very nice,but the buffet was terrible to me the food was doring and not good except for breakfast food,the room we stayed in was terrible ,they need a big renovation in the section we were staying in. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Another beautiful trip!!!

This is our fourth time at this resort (Grand Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar Blue) and as in other years our vacation was fantastic. The rooms at the Ambar Blue are older and definitely show some wear, but they are still very nice, comfortable and clean rooms. We stayed probably in the middle area of this resort which we requested earlier via an email to the resort as we knew there was construction on the one side and we didn't want to be affected by that. The staff are very friendly (they call us family), the food was great, the grounds including the beach are breath taking and we were very happy with our trip.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Beautiful experiance and resort!

Not many bad things to say about this resort. The staff is very friendly the grounds are beyond beautiful, the food is amazing! (Seafood restaurant may not be the freshest) The one thing this resort needs is more beach chairs!!! Otherwise a fantastic trip.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great Low budget resort

This is a 3 star resort. The rooms are in need of a upgrade but they were clean. The pool area was great. Always lots of activity going on. Even though the buffet was on the smaller size, the food was good every night. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The beach was OK. Lots of under tow and the waves are high.

Riu Merengue: Awesome and amazing resort

The resort was a beautiful, no complaints what so ever. The flight with Sunwing was perfect and on time. Anyone who does not like the resort don't know what they are talking about because they are wrong. Staff are more than friendly and would help in any way they can. Food at buffets and ala cartes was excellent. Very very clean rooms. Beaches were beautiful. I would definitely visit this resort again in a heartbeat. I can't say enough good about it. Staff at the resort work very very hard to keep it clean and fun for everyone. It is a five star for us.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resort

This was our second time at this resort. We love the Bahia Principe chain and even though this is an older resort it is a wonderful place to spend a week. The resort is very clean and they are constantly cleaning to keep it that way. The food is great and the gourmet restaurant is one of the best. The biggest thing that sticks out is the staff. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: exceptional resort

the grounds were clean well maintained.loved the resort the staff at the pool,our butler jose took very good care of us,i highly recommend this resort the elegance club is the way to go. one negative the staff at the see&sea rest.not too freindly at times always a wait for water. the food was great,lobster every night if you want,the beach always clean of sea weed in the morning.you must check out the front lobby wow its spectacular.always different entertainment,at night.

Excellence El Carmen: Excellent resort in every way

I have to tell you that this is by far the best resort I have visited to date. The gardens are beautiful, the lawns fresh and green and the beach is sandy and clean with lots of lounge chairs with shade. Clean towels were rolled and ready all day in stands all over the resort . Every building had their own pool plus there was a swim up bar pool close to the beach . The rooms were amazing. The balcony had a double cushioned lounger, private jetted tub and anot her outside shaded bed with pillows. We are early risers so every morning we'd watch the ground and pool crews come out and quietly go to work . Lots of joggers doing laps as there are good secure areas available . The dining was amazing . We did not have one bad meal the entire time we were there. There are a variety of restaurants with different themes so something for all palates. Wonderful presentation . The morning buffet had a great variety also with all breakfast menus covered. There were bars open scattered throughout the resort plus the main lobby area had a great martini bar, sports bar and more. Entertainment was provided in the form of morning exercise routines at the beach area, pool tables in the main lobby area plus spectacular theatre entertainment every evening . But none of this can compare to the royal treatment you got from each and every member of the staff . Always smiling and ready to go that extra for you . From getting that perfect omelet in the morning, serving you drinks at the beach and all the pools, asking about food allergies, remembering how full you like your coffee cup and even going to get your favorite drink from another bar because they ran out, WOW. The restaurant staff, the 24 hour room service, the maid service and even the grounds workers, all remarkable .
