Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: I would recommend this resort!

Rooms are clean and the resort is clean and well maintained. You are never hungry. Recommend the Japanese restaurant and the Cuban as well. Super amazing staff always there to help with a big smile! Bar staff was entertaining. Lobby was a great place to join up to meet with a group. Champagne night to light the Christmas tree was fun.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Oceanview room was fantastic!!

It was great resort due to everything was within walking distance including all a-la-cartes dining facilities. Arrived around 1 PM and was greeted with a margarita but was informed our room wasn't ready and we could check our luggage and enjoy the facilities until our room would be ready around 3 PM. The resort and vegetation was well maintained along with our room was cleaned daily. Beer allotments were hit and miss but one call to front desk and beer would be sent to our room pronto. The pool was always crystal clear and clean with many palapas to select from along with perfect weather!! As for the beach, it wasn't unusual for a red flag flying daily but the beach was excellent for walking in either direction for kms. Overall our stay was enjoyable and would return again.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Fantastic resort!

Had a great time! A group of us went to celebrate my brothers birthday. The staff made sure it was a special day for his 50th. The hotel room was exceptional for Cuba. Very clean and modern. The pool was great and the beach was clean. The beach bar was a great meeting place for us. And the bar tender was a lot of fun. The lobby bar was packed every night so you had to make sure you got there early enough to get chairs. Also there wasn’t a huge selection at the buffet but we never left hungry. The Japanese restaurant was the best. The show was great and the food was very good. Don’t get the fish soup though. That was terrible. The restaurant brought out a birthday cake for my brother and it was wonderful! The staff even sang for him. Wonderful time! Do not exchange your Canadian money. The locals will give you par for it. They will charge you extra if you pay in pesos. Not completely sure why this is but that’s the way it’s working now. The locals are hurting extremely badly because of Covid and the lack of diesel. They can’t get supplies as the transport industry isn’t running up to par. They are very appreciative of anything you give them from money to clothes to medicine. All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely go back.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Not a 4.5 star hotel, maybe a 3

This hotel is old. In our room, the safe was not attached to anything, the patio door couldn't open, bedding was stained. This was fixed after we spoke to the front desk. Bathrooms on resort were terrible. Most of the time there was no toilet paper, no soap to wash hands, broken locks on doors, toilets wouldn't flush, no water to wash hands. Grounds looked okay. None of the large water fountains were working and the pool must of had a leak because the water level was down by a foot. At the b [... read more]uffet we were given 4 pieces of toilet paper as napkins. The food was okay, you would not starve. Some days were good. The entertainment was not great except for one night there was a 3 piece band that was good. However after all that, the beach was great and the people that work there are awesome!!....so friendly and helpful and always a smile on their faces. Everyone we spoke to was disappointed. There also was no rye, vodka, gin or any cream drinks(Baileys, Amaretto) Wine seemed watered down.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful Resort

The Iberostar Laguna Azul is a beautiful resort; The beaches and staff are second to none. You will however have to adjust to some deficiencies. Always have toilet paper with you. In public areas, once the roll empties it will stay that way until morning. Bring hand sanitizer as well. There are several hand sanitizer dispensers around the resort but they are all empty and when the soap in the bathrooms empty they too will stay that way until the morning. Make sure you check out the spa on the 5th floor. It's not really advertised but they offer a fabulous massage!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Plenty of shade!

This resort is absolutely the best resort we have ever been to for the availibility of shade. There are plenty of loungers to be found in the shade at the pool and also at the beach. There are also spots between the beach and pool offering plenty of shade for anyone who needs to limit the amount of sun they get. Also plenty of sun spots for the people who love the sun. The food was a little repetitive off the main buffet but was edible none the less with nobody going hungry and if you did it was your own fault. The grounds are well kept with plenty of trees and walkways and all the time you are on the grounds you get a beautiful view of either the mountain or the beach....what more could you ask for! We spent a majority of our time lazing in the shade on the beach enjoying the cold drinks and cool breezes off the water. The beach is nice and sandy with only a bit of seaweed washing up that is quickly picked up. Just a small sidenote.... one of our fav drinks to enjoy is the long island ice tea. Anyone who likes them knows that there is a wide variety of how they are made however we have finally found the right bartender to make them at this resort. Elvis will make you the perfect ice tea that tastes delightful and you will never know it has booze in it hardly. Be careful though as they are packed with booze lol This is a good resort at a good price with lots to enjoy. Many people come on here and complain about resorts not matching the flashy 5 star resorts they have been in other locations but then also paid 3 times the price for them so lets be fair. We have been in the travelling game for awhile now and this resort is on our list of resorts e would return to.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Nice

Very pleased with Coral L. Our first time there. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The tasty food was very enjoyable. The grounds were lovely and well kept. Never did make it to the beach, maybe next time. Spent so much time in the pool and loved it. Felt so spoiled having butler and room service. Looking forward to the next time.

Hotel grounds were massive.Golf carts a little slow., but they were really nice. Japanese best restaurant. Alendro (cust serv)👍. ** Arie, Ray, Mitch, Odalis (entertainment) kept a good vibe. Dancing by pool/beach. Really nice people! Diff activities each day. Foam party, zumba, etc ** Guerro and Haljabie at pool bar made really good drinks. Buffet food was average. The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and trees was amazing. All the staff were fantastic people, got to know a few of them in the short time I was there. The rooms were good, except ran out of toilet paper one day when it was needed. So now for the bad part, cockroaches in our food. They were everywhere in the buffet restaurant. I was eating rice, took one mouth full and was about to have another one when I noticed a dead cooked cockroach in my rice. Disgusted. After that was hearing a [... read more]ll kinds of stories, someone had one cooked right on there fish. They were everywhere on the tables, the floor. It turned us off of eating there. The la crates were ok. It just seeded to be in the buffet restaurant area. Also, I got eaten by sand fleas. I had to go see the Dr. when I got home, the bites were infected and inflamed. He gave me a cream that I use twice a day and two kinds of pills, one I take 4 times a day and the other one once a day. I would really appreciate it if f I could get some kind of discount for the horror of cockroaches. Left my luggage outside when I got home after they might be in there. I left lousy after seeing cockroaches and fleas. Disgusted 🤢 not to happy. Disappointed in trip☹️

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Meh

I can’t say I’d recommend this resort to anyone. I was travelling alone this time so my standards aren’t what they would be if I was with someone important. Food was substandard, I expected this from the country however, this particular resorts selection was less than limited. A la cart was always followed by a trip to the buffet to top up or to forget what you did eat at the restaurants. Rusted fixtures in the bathrooms and water was hit and miss for washing. I didn’t like begging for water in my room either. I never did receive a new towel my entire stay. Getting a towel from the pool cabana was a bit of an ordeal. Checking in was fine however the lack of communication as to where to get anything was left up to the guest to find out. Bed sheets had holes in them and the door to the balcony couldn’t be opened by someone elderly I’m sure. Batteries for the safe in the room were done so that couldn’t be used. Nightly entertainment was “ok”. But again, you had to listen to hear where it was on the resort to find it. I’m not sure how this resort had the rating it did. If this is a 4 star then it’s a one star ANY where else in the Caribbean. I won’t be back. I do understand the hurdles Cuba has to go over in order to get what they do have. This will be my last time visiting the country for a very long time. I would have hated to bring my son or significant other to this place. It would have been embarrassing to be honest.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Relaxing resort

The grounds, pools and rooms were very nicely kept. The service was excellent. The food was terrible but that is out of your control. There wasn't enough activity to keep it lively so very boring especially after sundown. The beach was sensational.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Nice hotel with great amenities!

The AIR CANADA ride from the airport was long1.5 hrs, as we had to make several stops We stayed ocean front which was very nice, the beach is beautiful to walk and no problem getting chairs umbrellas are also available We went to the pool every day, you don’t have to get up at 6am to get a chair! There are lots and all have palapas for shade. Beach bar was ok, Buffet was good, specially restaurants leave a lot to be desired. They serve a large portion of meat with little veggies You do h [... read more]ave to make reservations, but this is easy with concierge bars ok, make a wide variety of drinks for everyone. There are guidelines for dress at specialty restaurants, but no one is turned away.. even those who think shorts and t-shirts are acceptable.. of course this is not the norm…. When did flip flops become evening wear? Pool & Beach! Green Too many men think this is acceptable. This is a great hotel and we would probably return. Iberostar Selection Holguin: This was one one my favourite hotels in Cuba . Been to 8 different resorts this one is best by far .

This resort seem to have everything you needed for a good holiday.. Food was good apart from the odd shortage , but never a real concern. Staff were great and took care of all our needs and never had to wait long any where .

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice stay...

Older hotel with beautiful grounds and beach. Rooms are dated but clean and functional. Food was good at buffet but the a la cartes were very good 👍 pool area was very noisy most of the time but plenty of seating available. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: great staff!

it was nice to see that people have moved on with covid and we were able to enjoy ourselves ,still a few wearing masks wich is fine if that's what they prefer, but at least we had the choice! Excellent service, the staff was very friendly and always smiling ,something that we haven't seen in a while being from Canada I would recommend iberostar and will return in the future

Recently spent 11 days at Iberostar Bella Vista , have not been back to cuba in 6 years so wasn't sure what to expect reading all the reviews on shortages since the pandemic . Staff are fantastic , room was spotless and clean everyday, no beer , pop in mini fridges but 2 bottles of water daily . You can purchase beer at resort or duty free , no tequila at resort which we don't drink it anyway , wine was great red & white . View from oceanview was amazing, we spent 10 days in ocean which is what we went for , however pools were clean and fine also. We brought toilet paper from home and we didn't have too however it's nicer lol . Food was good for cuba , better than 6 years ago forsure however nobody goes to cuba for food . There were many choices and you certainly won't starve, Lobster, shrimp , beef , pork , chicken , burgers , pasta , burnt wings , tuna , we noticed no lettuce and no potatoes, we don't eat desserts but looked like lots there . We would definitely go back to this resort ! Fabulous vacation . 😎

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: The Amazing Iberostar Grand Paraiso

This was my 2nd visit to this resort and it never fails to impress. They really know how to take care of their guests. Rooms are beautifully maintained daily, beds are comfortable, food is top notch from pool side to Buffets to the A la Carte restaurants. Star team puts on spectacular evening shows , lobby bar entertainment and daytime Poolside games and music are so fun. The oceanfront is breathtaking to view and warm to swim and ride the waves. Will definitely return again !

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Great time with lots of sun and sand

Hotel was great, clean and excellent location and beach. Room service was slow, food at restaurants was average. Buffet and pool side food options were great. Language was an issue for English speakers but overall the experience was great and we had an amazing time

This was the 6th time my wife & I were at Iberostar Cozumel .The resort facilities were well maintained, the staff was very friendly & attentive and the food was well prepared. For people looking for a relaxing, somewhat quiet vacation, this is the place to consider.
