Paradisus Varadero: Worth every penny

The beach was fantastic. Beautiful rooms, restaurants and lobby. The staff were welcoming and efficient. I love this place and would go back. The food was adequate and there was a decent variety. If you couldn’t find something to eat you were too fussy.

Melia Las Americas: Very,very good

It was our first time in Melia Las Americas, but not the first time in Cuba. Hotel and staff are amazing. You can not ask for anything better. We scertainly hope we will be able to return to Las Americas next year again

Paradisus Varadero: Nice resort but does not meeting star rating

Overall, I think the Paradisus Resort is a good resort for Cuba but it is starting to be run down especially at the The Reserve. I do not think the The Reserve is worth the additional money. The up keep of the rooms is poor. Both shower heads - tub and shower were leaking a lot. The landscaping around the room especially the swim out suites was poor. It looks old and dated and not well kept up. We had no real extras. The bar was only filled with 2 beers. They did provide water every day but in t [... read more]he 11 days there, there was cola only available on 2 days for the room and not other choices. At the bars and buffet at the The Reserve, choices for drinks and food was limited compared to the main bar and buffet a the Paradisus. Food choice at the buffet was very limited and very repetitive and I am not sure if this is a reflection of the state of things in Cuba or just this resort. I would return to this hotel as the location was nice and the beach beautiful. Staff were very nice but it is over priced. As for COVID precautions, there were none other than hand sanitizing at all the food areas and bars. No masks were worn

Sol Cayo Coco: Did Not Disappoint

Love the location, the beach, the rooms, the staff. The food can always be more interesting but definitely OK. There was a real problem with hot water when we were there - never really hot, sometimes warm. Also, a problem with the room safes not working. Apparently only one fellow really knew how to fix them and he did. Very pleased with airline OWG although we were not familiar with it. Reccomend.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Perfect vacation

When we arrived at hotel 1030 pm we were checked right into our rooms, we were driven to room by hotel staff . Room was clean, we had drinks water towels toilet paper etc. We did not have to wait for drinks at pool beach or lobby bar, wide variety of foods for breakfast lunch dinner. Fresh beach towels daily. Amazing staff always pleasant . Resort grounds were clean and well taken care of.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Amazing

Just came back from a 5 day vacation at Melia. Had a great time and kids had a blast. It is a clean resort with the majority of the facilities working except for some of the hand dryers were not working in some of the common area toilets. Some of the toilets run out of tissue. Room was clean but dated, air-conditioning was cold. The food was the same everyday, but you will never go hungry. Pleasant staff. Overall, it is an amazing resort for what Cuba has to offer. Melia Internacional: Disappointing

Beautiful property, many things didn’t work in our room, horrible food, no communication, no vodka or tequila or gin or white wine. Sunwing because of ANOTHER “mechanical” breakdown cost us 1 day of our vacation (flight delayed by a day) and again, NO communication from Sunwing either. Last time we book with any of these entities.

Melia Las Antillas: Snakes crawl at night!

Grounds-well kept by Gardeners in the early morning. Public areas well kept and clean especially washrooms.ypu may find some plastic cups on the beach. Rooms well kept by maids but they lack upgraded and maintenance.example One evening we found a snake in our room which we believe came in patio door as maid may have left open.our room was ground floor next to woods. Also same evening we heard a crash and Ceiling let go above tub with large amounts of water coming down. Tried to call front  [... read more]desk but phone did not work. Food-we managed to find food to eat but remember they are going through a food shortage. So no oj,no bacon,no cola lite,no jams, Very little beef but good hamburgers but no condiments.no cheese.same desserts done in different shapes. Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort

This is a smaller resort which has advantages and it is also a little bit older resort but they keep it in terrific shape. It is an adult only resort and is a great place to go if you want to have a peaceful getaway where you can just relax and unwind meet interesting people and make new friends. Like the rest of the world and here at home they are suffering cutbacks and limitations at the bar and the restaurant but what they do have to offer is still plenty and still tastes very good. The rooms were clean and well maintained, the pool and the beach were awesome and the staff very friendly. For those who may be more actively inclined they have a nice workout center and a sports building with tennis courts ping pong and archery. I want to give a special shout out to Pedro who runs the sports building. He is trained and very knowledgeable in multiple sports, makes a great opponent on the tennis court and on the ping pong table and for myself I enjoyed the boxing and Krav Maga lessons I got from him. Super big thank you to Pedro. We also would like to thank the management staff and all the support staff maintenance people who made us feel welcome and kept the resort running smoothly and kept the grounds clean. One last thank you to Kevin Dupuis from trip Central for helping put this trip together for us always answering our questions helping us with all these new government forms and just basically making this thing run seamlessly I hope to deal with you soon for next year's vacation which will be back to this beautiful resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Resort

Well i was sceptical of going to Cuba this is my 3rd time and it was the best by far! Hotel grounds and landscaping has lots of character mature trees and very cozy , Very well laid out resort Beach was Beautiful but had rocky sections hard to get in and out of water But there is a section were it is just sand to enter Rooms are large and very clean excellent showers and bathroom Cant really complain about anything at all other than a bit dated but very nice Food was decent for Cuba l [... read more]ots of choices ala cart restaurants were good 4 choices Japanese was the Best !! Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Cuba is hurting! And so are the resorts

Our total honest opinion. Cuba is hurting and so are the resorts. I think they are doing the best at what they can do with what they have! We booked Royal service as well. We just feel for what we paid. We could have had much more elsewhere and we do travel a lot Food was very repetitive with pork chick rice cabbage buns salami and cheese! No pasta that we seen when we were there even at the Italian el la carte! No French fries only seen the once! They will bring it to you every morning which is great but if that particular morning you wanna sleep in it’s not so convenient! Service was great they couldn’t do enough for you the people were incredible Wifi you get 10 hrs at a time I found we didn’t get what we spent and it’s because they are limited! I think at 1 time this was a high end resort but it’s getting tired looking. If they can’t afford food and drinks for theirs guests. Mail tan r isn’t going to be a high priority

Melia Jardines del Rey: Lovely resort

This resort was well kept. Considering the damage after a hurricane and the economy going for a dive from Covid the place was really fixed up good. Our room was clean, but towels and face clothes not plentiful. If you use faceclothes bring your own. We also brought our own beach towels. They run out quickly. Water and beer was restocked in the room each day. We asked for two water bottles daily and we got it. The people are very friendly and eager to help with everything you may need. In spite of shortages etc we had a great time. If your priority is sun and beach this place is wonderful.

Good value considering the inflated costs this year. Food is good and plentiful, buffet is very repetitive as in most resorts. Staff are very friendly. Grounds are clean and easy to get around. Pool cleanliness needs a bit of work, a good scrub would help it a lot. Most of the beach is rocky and not swimmeable but there is a small section which is sand bottoom. Rooms are cleaned daily, fresh bedding and towels every day. Rooms do smell a bit musty due to high humidity, same as all the caribean r [... read more]esorts we have visited. Our package said 4 a la cartes per week but that has changed to 3. Website also says coffee machines in rooms but that is wrong also. Over all we would give this resort a 4 at best although they think it's 4.5 Had a really good time. No regrets as long as you are not expecting luxury. We picked this resort quickly as plan B after Sunwing bailed on us with under 2 weeks notice. Having taken more time selecting we probably would not have been here but that OK.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fabulous Resort. Wonderful Staff

This hotel is the nicest I have ever stayed at in Cuba. The food was excellent despite a few shortages here & there which is always expected in Cuba so not an issue for me. The staff are caring & friendly & always make you feel welcome.

When we 1st arrived our impression was good we soon found out they had no pasta no lettuce no real fruit juice no beef limited chicken and bacon. no Vodka no Whiskey no fruit drinks The pool walls had black mold scum I'm the grout. A lot of things broken and unrepaired through out the resort The staff did the best with what they had.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Much Lower than my Expectation

I picked this hotel because I prefer the resort style, I read a lot and have already decreased my expectations but the truth is much worse, the hotel is very old, the door is not functioning well, and sometimes I need to swipe over the card 20 times to open it, they never change the towels until you have to require every time, but some other things will be recommended, such as the beautiful beach, I really suggest the future visitors never go out but just spend time on the beach that will keep y [... read more]our good memories in Cuba, and the Royal Service Room. Melia Jardines del Rey: Lack lustre and food not great!

The grounds are beautiful but beware of the beach! Bring water shoes for sure as there are sharp rocks, coral and shells that protrude the shoreline. The accommodations are simple and clean but the resort buildings as a whole need attention as they are a bit run down. The food at the buffet was not very good and the variety was lacking. The pools are large but again run down and lots of broken pool tiles so wear water shoes! The alcoholic drinks lack variety. At other Caribbean resorts/destinations you can order lots of neat blended drinks like margaritas, daiquiris and chunky monkeys but definitely not at this resort. If you are coming here just to relax and have a cheap getaway and are not picky about food then I would recommend.

Melia Las Americas: Beautiful Resort

It was very clean, the rooms were great, the beach was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the golf course was great to play, they can certainly use more newer golf carts, the service in the buffet and specialty restaurants were great but the food was just so so.

Melia Las Americas: Very nice

Excellent resort. The building show no sign of aging and we’re Very clean. Beach well what can I say a 10. We were 4 guys on a golf trip so we were upgraded to a multi room 2.5 bath hacienda. It was a 5 star accommodations so a very nice treat. Food was ok and maybe better than other resorts. Very repetitive though. Missing a lot of condiments like ketchup,onions. Staff are all amazing and in general Cubans are amazing and very appreciative.
