Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: A bit rough, but everything you need for a week in the sun

Good value for your money resort. Rooms are clean, food is good if you stick to the options at the buffet you like. A la cartes not worth the time lining up. Some sprucing up is definitely need though. Lobby bar entertainment was usually better than theater shows. Overall would go back for a cheap week away in the sun.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Nice resort!

Well-maintained resort- nice beach, bars, great cappuccinos, lively and varied entertainment in lobby area as well as events in theatre. Good room services-- stocked fridges etc. Great Asian and Italian restaurants-- very good food/ white wine. Good wifi (1hr/adult/week free). Great customer service dept. Amazing staff/ great service in general. The week we went they were out of some items- like no shrimp/ ketchup was hard to find-- due to embargo. Best to bring hot sauce, ketchup, Nutella, pea [... read more]nut butter If you love that stuff. We always found stuff to eat- some days more variety than others. The buffet had enough stuff to eat but was repetitive at times during lunch and dinner. I would have liked more veggie options-- but again - embargo-related. The pasta station /stir fry station on few days didn't have too many ingredients but had them on other days. Had good desserts, breads, break fast items/drinks/ red wine/beer etc. Great fish on the grill. Again- this is Cuba and is all related to the embargo and expected when going to Cuba. The snack bar did run out of things on some days.. no pizza for most of the time. But food was good here liked the items on offer at the beach snack bar/pool snack bar. The beach had paddle boats/ catamarans/ kayaks etc.. easy to walk all the way past other resorts, great for snorkelling, abundance of sea shells for those beach combers, saw many starfish, fish, cormorants - had a blast on the beach. Can easily visit nearby markets. Good place for people with families/ as well as no kids. Had a great trip- great resort. There is a lot to do in nearby towns-- the restaurants in caibarian had great seafood- lobster/shrimp/ fish. Just keep in mind it is Cuba and go with an open mind.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Worst vacation ever.

Had to get a second room. No Kleenex. No coffee in rooms even though there was a coffee pot. Room cleaning was poor. Even with tips and gifts. One can of beer one bottle of water and one tiny bottle of cola in the fridge fir two occupants. Drinks and food were a one star. No spoons, tea, cheese, bacon, salads or dressing. Not enough tongs to handle the food. With the corona virus outbreak it was disgusting to see the guests use their hands to get their food. On our last day all po [... read more]wer was out. We couldn’t shower or flush the toilets. We felt sorry for the workers. The beach was beautiful.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort

The rooms are cleaned every day... The resort is maintain quite good... The pools are amazing, the beach is great... The service at the buffet is poor... Servers are very slow, some don't speak English... The restaurants a la carte are much better ....

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: 1 good thing - beach

This hotel is in dire need of repair and care. Railings are falling apart. Bathrooms aren’t working. Roaches are in the bathrooms and food areas. Linens need replacing. Locks need fixing. Beds need replacing and attitudes need adjusting. The only thing I wouldn’t change is the beach and sun. Sunwing needs to send undercover representatives to this location to get a true testament of the conditions.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Absolutely Amazing Resort

I would rate Every Employee 10 plus out of 10 The BEST customer experience I have ever encountered The Cuban hospitality was amazing, their smiles, friendliness was out of this world. I loved my massages by Luis. Will I go back - ABSOLUTELY

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort

Grand Memories was a very enjoyable resort to stay at. The proximity to all areas was the best feature for me since walking long distances was an issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were decent. Lots of variety at the buffet area. My room was large and kept very clean each day by Rosa our housekeeper for the week.The balcony faced the pool area which was steps away. I enjoyed the layout of the pool area suitable for kids and adults. Although I did not swim in the ocean [... read more] I walked on the sand and was amazed at the beautiful colour of the water. It was nice to be able to use the facilities at the resort next to Grand Memories also. The nightly entertainment was so amazing at the theatre. Always went early to get a good seat. This was my best trip of the three times going to Cuba and would go back again to Grand Memories. Before leaving I had the opportunity to speak with the manager Ricardo who was very interested in hearing about our stay. 9/10 !!!!!

Memories Paraiso: Amazing resort Memries Paraiso

Resort have built after 2001 and has good dеsign, architecture and equipment. White soft sand is on the beach. Evening events were so enjoyable. Food and service was amazing.I definitely recommend it for every one.

Memories Paraiso: Resort has gone to crap

This was my family’s 3rd time coming to memories paraiso and will be our last. This place has taken a turn for the worse completely in every single aspect, the staff has changed and lots are very rude and rather talk amongst themselves then actually work. Walking into our room some of the lights didn’t work and the toilet seat wasn’t secured to the toilet, the maid wouldnt change the bed sheets, they wouldn’t bring a pillow case for the extra bed. The worst part is they are just not maintaining this part of the resort like they are the grand and sanctuary and it just takes a quick 5 min walk around to see the difference in quality.

My wife and i spent our honeymoon here 16 years ago. We remember the resort being in better shape than it was. The staff are awesome, they try very hard to be helpful. We had a water leak in our room, the mattress we slept on was terrible, the resort ran out of rum, tia marie, chocolate liquoir, baileys and coke by midweek!! lucky we were not heavy drinkers, and the resort is getting to a point of needing a little TLC. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: First Cuban Vacation

This was a very clean,fairly new hotel.The staff was very friendly and were always there to help or assist customers, there are only two issues that I had ..1)the food was repetitive and the hotel was located at least one hour minimum from a village or town..however where the food is concerned I believe Cuba can only make do with what they have...so I give them a B+ For trying...location is location...nothing u can do about that..my vacation was great..relaxing..both guests and staff were frien [... read more]dly..I'll definitely go back🙂🙂

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Lovely resort!

This was a lovely place for a winter get-away. Spectacular grounds, beautiful buildings, comfortable and well appointed bedrooms. The infinity pool was great, although could have been a bit deeper. Lovely beaches, one large, white sand. The other more private, smaller, a delight for anybody who looks for and finds this hide-away. The food was just fine, plain but just fine. Not a lot of excitement if that is what you are looking for this is not your place, but if you looking for quiet and relaxation this is it. Last but not least the Cubans at this resort were lovely people, helpful, pleasant, friendly. It is helpful if you have a few words and phrases of Spanish as not all of them speak a lot of English. I recommend this resort highly.

The beds are terrible. Some new mattresses would be great. A week on those beds is a killer. Pools and beach are beautiful. Food is typical Cuba. Always find something to eat but don't expect gourmet food.

The hotel was very nice,the food was quite good and the service was very good. The beach is excellent,but there was limited number of shelters,which is always the case at any resort. I am not a pool person, so I did not spend any time at the pool, but they looked good. I think one had slides for kids. The room was clean and nice. The fridge was restocked daily. I recommend snorkeling by the point. There happened to be lots of fish and star fish.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: LOVELY RESORT!

We just returned from a week at the Iberostar in Cayo Santa Maria. It is a large, spread out resort which is very well kept, beautiful gardens, large clean pools. We had a room on the ground floor in building 21 which is fairly close to the reception/ lobby/ buffet etc. We had a large room, with a large balcony, a king size bed, flat screen Tv , stocked refrigerator. If you really enjoy tennis bring your own equipment. We really enjoyed the food at the buffet and a la cartes. The beaches are simply beautiful. The closest Megano beach has a two great bars and a simple but delicious lunch BBQ. The staff is super friendly and helpful and any issues are dealt with promptly.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Disappointing!

At first glance, the hotel looks amazing. The room was adequate. we upgraded to "privilege" at extra cost a got a room without a shower - just a hand-held shower wand. The buffet was horrible. Minutes after the buffet opened, the food was already cold. The food in Cuba is never good but this was absolutely disgusting. We lived on bread, butter and bland pasta for the week. The a la carte restaurants were hugely disappointing - nowhere near the "asian" or "italian" they claimed to be. The "privil [... read more]ege" lounge was never opened, the privilege area of the pool was never monitored nor had enough chairs. There was no real entertainment - the bank closed when the teller felt like he wanted a break. The hotel store had enough room for one customer at at time and had little merchandise. As privilege customers, we were entitled to premium drinks but were never offered any - the bars had no coke to make drinks . The pools were missing tiles. The one redeeming feature of the hotel is Alberto our privilege host. This young man is the most accommodating pleasant helpful and genuine person. The hotel needs to make sure to keep him!!!!!!

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Excellent Resort

The hotel is modern and clean. The grounds were well kept with colourful flowers, shrubs and trees. The pool area had plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The rooms were spacious and fitted with modern fixtures. There are two beaches. One beach is very big and great for swimming. The second beach is smaller and tranquil. Both have plenty of palapa's and both are great for snorkelling. The food was good with only the odd shortage of certain items. There was always a wide variety. The st [... read more]aff were excellent. They were always pleasant and eager to assist. Entertainment consisted of some musical acts in the lobby bar. Nothing extravagant but the hotel appears to be meant for quiet relaxation. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive from the mainland and about 1 1/2 hours from the airport. Overall a great resort.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Clean, friendly resort

The resort is very clean and the rooms well laid out. Was very quiet during our visit as a couple of the wings were not being used. Staff are friendly. The beach is beautiful. Very nice pool area too with a swim up bar. Alejandro and Mikey are fantastic dancers and kept us well entertained. Food is ok but not 5 star.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: great vacation!

Great , beautiful , long beach , especially for those who like to walk. Wonderful food, extremely friendly staff, although hotel by itself needs renovation. Overall greatly recommended place to relax.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Ver nice New facility

Brand new hotel clean modern great rooms bars restaurants and pools. Lovely private beach entertainment was great. The staff where very friendly helpful and plentiful.the food was a little repetitive but good and plentiful considering the embargo. Bar was always stocked including Prosecco and espresso type coffees. If you have children they have their own play ground and pool. We would definitely go back.
