Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time.

Stayed from Jan. 12 to 19. My wife and I enjoyed the beach and the food was above average( for cuba) Would definitly return to cayo coco memories caribe. A solid 4 star. Service was great, rooms beautiful and always something going on with the entertainment team

Resonance Blu Varadero: best resort yet

We stayed at Memories Varadero and have had amazing time. Here is my and my families experience with this resort for the week that we stayed in Jan.2020. Resort: Overall it is a bit older resort, but everything in it was functional and good and clean. If you are expecting a 5 star Hollywood royalty kind of resort, then you shouldn’t come to Cuba, as they are not that rich. They do the best that they can with little that they have. Rooms: As I mentioned above, it is an older resort, and it is humid climate, so the rooms are a bit older, but very comfortable and the housekeeping staff does amazing job at keeping it clean. Our housekeeper Sandra was absolutely priceless. She cleaned our room daily, and had changed our towels and always left something fun made out of towels or covers as a surprise for our 7 year old son. Food: The food was amazing. You had every meat and fish imaginable. Had over 15 different types of deserts. Ala Cart was super delicious. People say that it lacks taste and seasoning. Well, you always have additional salt and pepper on the table so have at it. If you are a picky eater at home you will for sure be picky here too. My compliments to the chef’s at this resort as they sure do out do them self every day and every meal. My family and I enjoyed the food very much. Staff: There is no words just how amazing the staff at this resort are. Starting with the check in counter. The ladies there are amazing and are willing to, and have for my family as well as other guests, go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable one. Then the Sunwing ladies Martha and Evelyn. You have a friend in my son Aidin for life. Then the buffet staff especially Rani and Juan Carlos. You two have made our family feel special, and like a million bucks. You are by far the best wait staff I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. Then the housekeepers. Sandra you are our queen of cleaning and towel puppets. Then the massage therapy guys, Andres and his staff. You guys have no idea how magical your hands are. Best massage I have ever had in my life, and I am speaking for my husband and his mum too. Then the grounds keepers. You guys work so hard every day no matter the temperature outside to make the resort look amazing. They made a cricket out of palm leaf and gave it to my son who couldn’t wait to get it home to show off at his class show and tell. And all the other staff that are for entertainment, and snack bar and kids club, and so many more. You guys and ladies are true customer service professionals. I can’t thank you enough for making our family vacation the best one yet.

Grand Memories Varadero: We had a good time!

Second time at Grand Memories. The hotel was good. The grounds are well kept, which helps set a great atmosphere, it gives that laid back and relaxed feeling. Note: grounds staff deserve a special mention on the great job! The Staff; the room cleaners did a great job too! The kitchen staff were prompt to serve and very courteous. The main ba [... read more]r: good atmosphere but seemed the bar staff was only motivated by $$$. I did tip as much as possible but it never seemed enough with them. (Travel hint: bring extra $$$ if you like faster service or once in my case.... service at all). The beach; fantastic, get there early to get a good spot. Note: The beach server was really good at helping everyone with setting up the beds. He deserves special mention too! The entertainment staff were energetic and enthusiastic! I loved how they created the feeling of inclusion. Really improved how how I felt through the fun interaction with them. The pools; there were enough pools to cater to different needs: a quiet pool, a party pool and a kids pool.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful Beach

Resort as a whole very nice but Sanctuary in need of sprucing up. Dining area outdoor patios blocked off and outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. Room doors have large gaps, noisy at night, locks don’t work properly, phone never worked. No fault of the people who work there who are trying their best but the owners should do something.

beautiful grounds... terrific gardens everywhere! lots of good food choices, beautiful beaches. all staff was consistently cheerful, efficient, and anxious to be of service, especially our butler, isabel. i would gladly return there. the only complaint i have is communication ... when i called several times ahead of time with a question, the phone was never answered. also when i sent an email to the contact person shown on their website, there was no response. it would be good if some gluten-fre [... read more]e bread was available, as lots of people have a gluten allergy/intolerance.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing!

This resort was by far one of the best I have stayed at so far in Cuba. I have been to Cuba three times and this resort was hands down my favourite. The staff were exceptional and very attentive at every meal. The pools and surrounding areas were well maintained and the cleaning staff were very wonderful, they gave us extra towels and changed the sheets upon request. I would definitely recommend this resort. I stayed at the Grand memories as there are three attached (Memories Paraiso, Grand Memo [... read more]ries and Sanctuary). Something I would say was that we could not locate one of the restaurants.

Memories Paraiso: Amazing beaches and staff

The beach was white fine sand and correl and so beautiful. The beach is better than Veradero. We had some issues with the rooms, but they were dealt with by such caring staff. If you go, find a porter named Liban, he will make your trip the best.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Fun time with family!

Great time loved the pool beach! The pizza and bbq food areas were delicious! Good shows and entertainment, little extras! Staff was lovely and very kind- the service all around was great. Loved the little pop up stands with cherrios and cotton candy!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Fun family resort

I took my wife and 5 year old away for our first all inclusive family week long vacation. The main reason was their free kids promotion and it was very affordable. I’ve been to Cuba before so knew what to expect and I was mostly happy with the trip. Room was ok, resort was very nice and the staff was fantastic. I would consider going back again next year.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Not for handicapped

There was no bars in tub so I couldn't shower for three days. However I was given a mat for the tub which helped the provider for this trip said it was good for handicapped people. They would provide a new room at the resort but it was not nearly as nice

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

Check in went smooth. Welcome drink upon arrival. Room clean and spacious. Food good and plentiful. Coffee and tea good and hot at Bars and Beans Cafe. Great ice cream Beach nice and sandy and shallow 24 hour bar had good pizza's. One day we did have warm shower water Staff and grounds great

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wonderful for Families

Hotel was great for families. Pool: was clean and lots of chairs. Kids club: was always open and kids enjoyed it. Food: We are not picky eaters and thought the food was great. We heard it was a lot better than other Cuban resorts from talking with people at the airport at the end of the week. They had an unlimited lobster dinner one night and turkey dinner another. Always had fruit, salad bar and rice or mashed potatoes that were so good and creamy. A station cooking steak, fish or  [... read more]pork chops each night to order. A pasta station and stir fry station as well. Lunch we usually had shredded beef and rice, hotdogs, hamburgers or chicken sandwiches by the pool but the buffet was very similar to dinner. Breakfast they had Omelette bar bacon, hash browns and fruit, plus a toaster to toast bread. Beach: the most beautiful white sand and turquoise water ever. Not very crowded, and a special “diamond club” adults only section if you want to get away from the kids. Rooms: older bed that was a touch on the firm side but the showers had super strong water pressure, the room had ice cold A/C, a mini fridge and balcony overlooking pool side or beach side. Entertainment was very good as well. Kids show at 8-8:30 daily and adults show from 9:30-10:30. Hotel in general: it is a very large hotel and if your building is on the outer edge you will do a lot of walking. At night the paths aren’t lit up very well, but never felt unsafe or got lost. Hotel borders on a market that has restaurants, craft tables, clothing, jewelry, ice cream, popcorn, and other touristy Knick-knacks for sale. Only downside was that we got lots of mosquito bites on the first night Bc we weren’t wearing bug spray. You couldn’t ever see or hear the bugs, but they def got us while watching the entertainment and walking around at night. Wore bug spray on lower legs after that at night, and never got any more bites.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Punta Canada !

We stayed at the Grand Memories Splash with upgraded Black Diamond wrist bands which allowed access to the beautiful Royalton Resort next door. The resort was very clean and the grounds are beautiful with live peacocks roaming around. The splash park was great, the slides are awesome for older kids/teens. The beach is Gorgeous, and we rented cabanas by the pool which came with cold Coronas and a fruit plate. The restaurants were OK. But all the food is sourced locally which supports their econom [... read more]y so it's good you feel good eating. The entertainment was great ! They had a modanna tribute our 5 year thought was pure magic. The only downfall of the resort is the travel smart personnel will call relentless to persuade you into attending a pseudo "time share" presentation. Do not believe them when they say it's 30 minutes....it's 3 hours. But all together a beautiful resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Mid-range, at best

Grounds were well laid out, and common areas were lovely. Rooms were ok, but bathroom, namely toilet, was terrible ( afraid to use toilet seat-not good!). Gave the impression that cleanup after hurricane was rushed? Public toilets were horrific. Buffet was way too small for the number of seats in dining room, and having staff to slice deli meat, cheese and fruit to order was a pointless waste of time- more staff for omelettes, pancakes, ala carte meat/fish etc would have made more sense. Resonance Blu Varadero: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

If you're read other reviews, you've noticed that they range from one end of the spectrum to the other. Everything from terrible to fantastic. Here's what our thoughts were on Memories Varadero Beach. If you go there with the mindset that you're going to have a great time, enjoy the sun, the people, the drinks, the entertainment, then you'll definitely have a good time! If you go there looking for all the little things that are lacking, then you'll have no trouble finding them. We'd heard  [... read more]and seen that some of the rooms are atrocious -- dirty, moldy, in disrepair. We lucked out and had a decent room, very clean, no issues, but we met others who had to request a different room because of issues. Once moved, they were satisfied. Most of the staff we very friendly, the entertainment was quite good (especially the Michael Jackson show and the Aqua-Dance)! Food was typical for Cuba -- it was good, but you got tired of it after a week. We never experienced any shortages of food, dishes or utensils, etc., and didn't need to use the extra condiments we brought with us. As you've likely read elsewhere, bring toilet paper with you, both for your room and with you when using the public washrooms. We were ok in our room, but needed our own TP occasionally when by the pools or buffet. Other thoughts: - the beach is FANTASTIC! Huge, clean, good activities. - tourists are almost evenly split between Canadians and Russians. No issues, everyone gets along and it's neat to meet people from your home country as well as halfway around the world. - landscaping and grounds were nice! Finally, bring gifts and tips for everyone. Cuba is a very poor country (just take a tour to Havana or any other town/city, and you'll see just HOW poor!), so anything you can bring them helps! It's also customary in Cuba, so don't break custom. Enjoy! We did!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Beautiful Resort

This resort is huge. The grounds are beautiful & the beach & pool are amazing. Staff very friendly for the most part. Front desk staff could work on being a little more friendly & smile more. Food in buffet was just okay. Melisa, Alianet & Arlenys, thanks for the amazing lobby service & warm smiles. You made our vacation so nice. Our room was nice & our room maid was amazing. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Wonderful resort!

We stayed at the Sanctuary for a week on Jan 3rd and would book again. Grounds were well maintained. The beach was awesome and we could walk for miles. Couldn't ask more of the staff, they were outstanding from the maids to restaurant staff to butler! Food was okay; we've had worse.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Never again

Memories was so much different then 5 years ago. The staff was rude and we had upgraded to Diamond club and paid the extra $ Our bed sheets smelled like mould. We Couldn’t even book à la cart for the first few days the diamond club restaurant was awful. The diamond club beach Loungers were broken. They ran out of food they ran out of ketchup, they ran out of french fries they ran out of hotdogs. The only good thing I can say about this hotel was where it was situated on the ocean. Everyone we spoke to was very disappointed with the hotel staff and the hotel amenities and the overall hotel Atmosphere. It’s unfortunate that the stop was overworked and they all seemed like the head of their life. Nobody was helpful and no one made us feel like our well earned money was put to good use

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good memories

The resort was a good experience! The entertainment and the accessibility of the cays help make up for any thing that may seem off! Enjoy the beach and make sure to befriend plenty of staff. Don’t go for the food or you’ll find yourself eating mashed potatoes and bread for 7 days. Tip 1: walk on the beach not on the sidewalks-take the bus! Tip 2: mosquitoes aren’t the only thing biting so remember to bring deet spray and after-bite! All in all, we had a good time!
