Melia Peninsula Varadero: Lovely reasort

Melia Peninsula Varadero is a great resort to spent a 2-week vacation. Location is great, the layout of the resort is very friendly and the food amazing. The service and entertainment shows were the things that I really liked the most.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Awesome resort!!!

This resort was everything we had wished for and much more. The friendly staff went above and beyond to make this trip perfect. Rooms were always clean and food was always available and delicious. The only thing I feel could be improved upon was the washrooms. We realized early on to carry toilet paper with us as they were usually out. We are already getting a group together to go back again next year!!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: well combined package of service

Professional service makes you feel like home. Composition of professionalism and politeness looks like close friendship. Meantime, management structure is in need to be modified; in same issues more power should be delegated to low structures.

Club Kawama: A Beautiful Spot in a Beautiful Country

Club Kawama is simply gorgeous! It is one of the oldest resorts in the Varadero region, and has a good mix of historical flavour and modern amenities. Situated on a pristine white sand beach stretching for over 25 km along a peninsula, the resort is in the perfect spot for those who want to embark on daily excursions as well as those who just want to bask in the sun. Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Planning day-trips from Kawama is a breeze, with on-site staff to help every step of the way. Havana is less than a two-hour drive away, and is accessible by several modes of transport at good prices. I will always remember the colour of the sand and the water in this true tropical paradise!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: exceptional resort

Service, food and grounds are amazing. Second time at the resort and everything was a good as the first. Can't wait to go again this year. Took the parents last time with my boyfriend. May go back to get married. Looking forward to it.

Barcelo Solymar: Beautiful beaches! Beautiful people!

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, food was better than most cuba resorts. Lots to do! I suggest staying on the other side or in a cabana for a more peaceful nights sleep. Staying in the main building got a little loud at night from all the party goers coming home late. The entertainment staff did a fantastic job making everyone feel welcome. I would stay here again!

Hotel Tuxpan: Perfect vacation

Was pleased with the Tuxpan, probably going back this year. It was just the perfect size, not too overwhelming. Got to know some really nice people and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Also, never know who you are going to meet on the beach.......my granddaughter is still seeing the cute guy from Ottawa (you know who you are).

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Excellent resort

This was our first time to Cuba. We heard a lot of mixed opinions of Cuba and the food. We stated at Ocean Varadero and we had a great time. Relaxing and fun. The food was good nothing to complain about. The Cuban people are fantastic and friendly. No issues at all . The rooms were clean and room device / maid service was excellent. Gran Caribe Playa Caleta: Wonderful Memories from Playa Caleta!

My family and I have been vacationing at this hotel (Playa Caleta) for almost ten years now and we love it - I am worried we will not be able to stay there in Jauary 2015 as I believe hotel is closed for renovations - we are holding off making our vacation plans in hopes it will be reopen in time. We think the hotel is great value for your dollar!

Brisas Del Caribe: In need of major renovations

Well, we knew it was not a 5 stars resort, but giviing it a 2 stars would have been generous. The rooms are run-down. We had to change rooms due to the condition of our first room. I guess they put everyone in the worse rooms they have on the first day, agree to change you the next day making that second room look good. But it really is not a good room, just better then the first one. It seems to be the norm. They overbook and everyone plays the musical room game. The maid cleans your room based [... read more] on the gift you leave her that morning. We had fun testing her service based on the gift we gave her. We are very tidy people, made our own bed in the morning and only requested towels every second day. The only day that we asked to have our sheets changed. She gave us twin bed sheets that she put sideways on a king size bed. The food was bad. We didn't care about the selection, it was the quality of it was far from good. It's time for Cuba to spend some of tourist cuban pesos on culinary school for their chefs. If you are going to tip or give some gifts to the resort staff. Give it to the ground keepers, the activity staff or the secuity guy as you enter the beech. They do not benefit from all the tiping or gifts that the other resort staff get. That's exactly what we did and we stopped gifting our moody maid. I even found out that the gift you leave them, such toiletory or clothing. They turn around and sell it to the the staff you should be tipping. Don't drink the water from the large Getorade plastic containers by the outdoor bars. My wife did that and guess what, she didn't have the best of nights. Cuban people are great, friendly and no matter where you go or what time it is. You will always be safe. The beech was great. Are they the best in the Carabeen's, well I think that depends who you speek too. I have have been to Europe, to the Dominicain Republic, Mexico and Florida. It's all a matter of taste. The Lifeguards at this resort are totally usaless. Their only concirn are that you don,t go over the allocated time for the free water sports rentals. But besides thaht you will find them picking up all the single girls onthe beech or trying to sell you some cuban cigars or one of their friend tour package. Don't run into trouble in the water, cause they will be no where to be found, usless you happen to be the nice looking girl on ther beech. I'm spanish and had no problem with the language. It was my first time in Cuba and my last. It's not worth the savings.

Melia Las Antillas: Nice relaxing vacation

Our trip was the end of May 2014. We hadn't been to Cuba in many years because of the food, but we got such a great deal and heard good things we tried this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised and would return again. Although the resort was a little dated, it was clean and the beach was beautiful and I had not problem getting more than enough to eat without any problems. We did miss not having an in water pool bar.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing Vacation

We stayed at the Memories Veradero in April 2014 for 4 nights. The grounds for this resort resort are absolutely beautiful. The resort caters to all ages, you can party on 1 side of the resort or relax on the other side at the quiet pool. I went with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The entertainment is by far the best I have seen yet compared to previous resorts that I went to. The club was always packed at night with good music and the entertainment shows were great as well. Fo [... read more]od on the other hand was not the greatest. It tasted very bland so bring your own spices. The rooms were nice, we had a central location being in building 38 which was in between both pools (albeit a bit closer to the party pool). We stayed on the 3rd floor so we did not have any issues with bugs or noise. If you don't care about food I highly recommend this resort! you can always pack some snacks which make up for the lack of taste in the food.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: great resort

Overall I would give the resort 4.5***s. I recommend that you book the privilege section where you have your own breakfast lounge and a private bar until 10:30pm where the service was outstanding. I would go back again.

Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome Staff

Unfortunately half of the resort was closed when we were there at the end of May. What was open, was kept clean and the staff was always very atentive. One thing that did bother us was the wheel chair access bathroom by the pool area. We complained that the door was locked and we required access, however it was never fixed for the entire week we were there. Access to the International restaurant was not wheel chair accessable either. These things would have made it much easier for us.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great location,excellent service and food.

We were in the VIP section, Cayo Libertad, rooms are big, very clean, large terrace, quiet. Food at the VIP section was very fresh, good and the service efficient and friendly. The management always helpful . It is our third stay at this resort and we will return next year. In our opinion the best resort in Varadero and one of the best in Cuba.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradise!

This was my 4th trip to Cuba but my boyfriends first and we both loved the resort and location! we upgraded to Royal Service which we reommend, food great , people great. all around fantastic holiday!

Hotel Villa Cuba: Very clean

Good place to stay for vacation with familly, the only thing is , mosquitos are all over the place at night, spray for it wil help.Stay away from dark places, ware bright colors, never dark, and enjoy the hotel. Nice workers and very frendly too.

Palma Real: Meets Expectations

Many of the complaints here are not really valid, for a hotel that is considerably cheaper than others. For what we paid we had a great time. Location-wise the hotel is amazing, with loads of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. The beach is a short walk away, and it is undeniably beautiful. The hotel itself wasn't very busy, and the bulk of the guests were Cubans on the weekend days. The staff were rather nice and at times a little too tip hungry. While the food was probably t [... read more]he worst I've come across, we got by still and would go out for dinner in town when we needed a change ($10 lobster!!). My only major complaint was that the water level in the main pool was low, about 6 inches below the filter intakes... which meant, well... it wasn't getting filtered at all. Kind of gross! Clearly this is not a 5 star hotel, so there really isn't a point in complaining about all the 5 star elements that are lacking. The staff that was there seemed to be trying hard, and at the end of the day we had a blast either way. We chose to stay at a cheaper resort and use our money for deep sea fishing instead, and we have no regrets!
