Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: this was an amazing resort

everything was extremely delightful. This was probably the best resort for frirndliness and cleanliness that we have stayed at so far. I would recommend this resort to my friends and have done so already

Palma Real: exit stage left

The entrance was dirty, there are 2 bars ( you wait forever), and the food poor quality and cold, i have traveled lots with my husband and we are not picky people but this place you couldn't pay me to go back too.

Grand Memories Varadero: Fantastic Resort

The hotel was fantastic. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very pleasant and there were no complaints there. There were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. We did do day tours to Havana and Matanzas. I preferred the tour to Matanzas. The tour guide, Sergio, was fantastic - Good sense of humour and very knowledgeable. Spoke Russian, Spanish and English. Overall, our stay was great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to Varadero.

Barcelo Solymar: Good Resort

Well kept, clean, lots of partying. A little loud so its great if you are on a higher floor. Maids are a little shaddy always asked if I wanted to give her my clothes, food is gross but drinks and beach are amazing.

Hotel Bella Costa: Beautiful beach resort!

Beach is amazing, resort was clean and staff were friendly. Food was very good and well prepared (remeber to make reservations though), it was still cuba though.......but never went hungry. Almost an hour to the airport.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Fifth time back...but...

Clean,gorgeous beach ,friendly staff, treated well...BUT recently the management has chosen to engage with an Italian Tour company, and offer them exclusive areas of the beach, use of one of the a la cartes each evening, their own animation show before the general show, and their own dedicated staff. We have been returning to this resort because it is relatively small, and easy to get around, and it has met our expectations...improving each year. However, because the resort is fairly small, and  [... read more]there are not a lot of public areas, trying to accommodate a separate group doesn't work. In general, I don't feel that the rest of the staff appreciate the Italians being there....many are quite rude, and I never saw any one of them, offer a tip, or even a thank you. Disappointing, but we won't be returning...a shame after having been there 5 times in the past 5 years. Time to try something new...One more thing...not sure if this is a cultural thing in Cuba (we have only been to this one Cuban resort), but there is an unwillingness to "deal with" the idiot twentysomething Canadians (yes Canadians)...those self-absorbed, entitled morons whose parents have allowed them to "mature" into disgusting ambassadors for our country.....we're not young and we like to party as much as the next folks....but honestly...grow up....

Starfish Varadero: It was fun and better than I expected!

The room was upgraded when we arrived, that was fantastic and unexpected! The ocean and beach is beautiful. The hotel needs some tlc but overall it was clean and provided everything we needed. The food was good.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing Rsort

All was Amazing. I continue to tell my friends about this resort and will return.I took my brother and his wife ,this was their first time outside of Canada,and they also will be returning. Staff was great. Meet some very nice people. I had only heard bad things about the food in Cuba, but i have NO complaints.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Just OK

Stayed at the resort for one week. It was a large resort, with carts available to drive you around. I found the buffet options limited, and far away from our room near the beach. The food options at the buffet were very limited, and not a lot of new choices throughout our stay. The rooms were not the best, and seemed to have some damage in the bathrooms. Best place to eat was the Japenese Al'la carte, which was really good. The entertainment was good.

Memories Jibacoa: Great trip

Our 10th visit,it is like coming home.The people at the resort are great,rooms clean,food good,weather was fantastic,drinks were good,we will be going back. Has a great trip to Havana, we enjoy the Ernest Hemingway Hotel.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: great resort

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) Hotel was amazing... 5* for sure.. can't believe it was in cuba.. so modern and new.. with such great service and entertainment.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: So, so, Blau Marina

We stayed in block 7 on the third (walk- up) floor, which was about as central in the large spread out resort as you can get without having a lot of surrounding noise, even though doors were slamming regularly due to wind suction pressure. The rooms were basic and sufficiently clean, the view was not great (ocean view room) but that was due to the lack of grounds upkeep or lack of watering the flora. The staff were all very nice and attentive. The food was just okay, be careful of the open air r [... read more]estaurants as fruit flies, and birds have free access to the salad bars. Speaking of bugs, perhaps it was the time of our visit (March, 2014) but the sand fleas and mosquito's were unreal, take lots of Off Spray, there were people that had allergic reactions that had to have shots just to survive. Another bit of advice is in regards to tipping the front desk often does not have the peso coins but you can easily get what ever change you need from bar tenders or other staff members.

Starfish Varadero: terriable resort

the resort had 6 possiable places to get in water and only one was in working order at the time, rooms were great, maids were great, food was the worst i have ever had and I am not a complainer, 2 star makes me happy we moved day 2.

Hotel Bella Costa: Had a great time!!

I stayed at this resort with my husband and 2 kids and we really enjoyed it!! The staff was amazing! The resort was very clean!! There was a lot of variety when I tame to food so we always found something to eat! I loved their pizza!! The food is as good as it gets for Cuba. I would definitely recommend it and would probably go back!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Surpassed expectations of well travelled couple

Well taken care of from arrival to departure, by friendly, attentive staff. Beautifully kept rooms, pool and grounds. Loved the beach and drinks. Enjoyed professional caliber entertainment and spirited animation. First class food. Definitely ready to return.

Melia Las Antillas: Very much Satisfied..!

It was our first ever Vacation to Cuba. We were celebrating 21st wedding anniversary & was completely satsfied with Melia as our choice. The Hotel, Pool & Beach were clean, pool was very good, enough space for every one. other tourist were nice. We had issues regarding our room initially and were resolved to our satisfaction. Room Service some what slow but ok. Nice staff all over. Not very much gridy for tips. Food was very good, we being vegeterian had limited choice though. Punta Peninsula Varadero: Spacious and enjoyable resort

Wonderful, large beach with great swimming, generous selection of food, friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms and relaxing atmosphere. Only negative was the lobby and dining area bathroom, frequently had out of order/unclean conditions.

Hotel Los Cactus: Fantastic Resotr

The resort was very clean and the grounds were well taken care of.The rooms were very spacious .The staff were very friendly.The beach was gorgeous.The food was pretty good.The italian restaurant was my favourite.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good value

The beach is really lovely, the staff super friendly. This is the second year we have been there and although is it still quite a nice hotel we noticed little things which indicated a little more wear and tear in the rooms. The food is ok but there was a lack of variety.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Loved it!

Best stay in Cuba! Resort is beautiful as it was a Sandals. The beach is wonderful and everything is walking distance because the resort isn't massive. Rooms are very nice Nd the balcony was wonderful. The food was really good - food is definitely getting better. We were there for New Year's Eve and it was a real treat! Party favors amazing entertainment - a fun time!
