Grand Oasis Riviera: Perfect for families

Every staff person was wonderfully friendly and hard-working. Our room was spotless and the grounds were exceedingly well kept. The buffet restaurants and others all offered an abundance of delicious Mexican and alternative food. We found the beach a little tough on the feet (traveling with an infant) so we spent most of our swimming time at the pools, which have many activities and great infrastructure for children.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Good family resort

Good family resort. Lots of pools, beach has a lot of seaweed wouldn’t go here for the beach. Very nice grounds. Lots of activities on site. Food was decent, steak house was the best. Rooms were nice nothing special, very humid and musty at times as AC doesn’t stay running when you leave the room. Bartenders were friendly and made night life fun. Would go back with family.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great relaxing vavation

Beautiful spot to relax and have fun. The Tulum section of the resort is very close to the beach - and the Tulum section of the beach is currently the best part of the Grand Bahia Príncipe Riviera Maya beach. Once the door to our room was fixed (you had to really push firmly to latch it), our room was lovely. He grounds wer beautiful. We preferred the smaller buffet restaurant, Tequila, over the larger buffet restaurant, Yucatan. Waiter Gabriel was lots of fun, and had some extra-special tequil [... read more]a to share. We also preferred the smaller pool near Tequila. The pool bar La Cangrejo, was our favourite, and bartender Antonio was excellent. We booked meals at three a la carte restaurants - Cozumel (Mexican), La Gran Tortuga (Brazilian),and Le Gourmet (French), which were all lovely. We also managed to get a fourth reservation, by popping into the reservation office in the afternoon, and pre-paying for two bottles of wine (not a problem for a group of 6) - we had a great meal at Don Pablo. If you want dancing and live music, there is a fun spot set up each night outside of the Coba lobby.

Tropicana Hotel: Great location and service!

On my recommendation, my friend is staying at the Tropicana next month and we are planning on returning next year with our friends. Great location in the romantic zone of Puerto Vallarta. Perfect for shopping, theater and dining. Thanks Tropicana!

Allegro Playacar: GOOD VALUE

The resort was kept very clean, the rooms could do with a bit of repair. Our room for the first 4 nights had weak Air Conditioning and wouldn't go below 24 degrees, after 2 days of the resort telling us it was going to be fixed, they finally moved us. Room #2 was very well Air Conditioned but had water issues, the shower stall leaked(not a big deal it had tiled floors). But after it rained the floor in the living room had puddles from the roof leaking. The food was adequate, the reservations f [... read more]or the Ala carte Restaurants were not very accommodating(had to be booked no more then day before). Didn't have any meals this way. All the waiting staff and cleaners were very helpful and friendly. We requested a late check out because of a late flight time and were told there were no vacancies and that we were welcome to wait in the lobby for 6 hours , but were welcome to use the facilties. It rained so we sat in the lobby for 6 hours, waiting to go to the airport. Over all good value for what we paid. Would try a different place next time..

Dreams Huatulco: Excellent resort.

The hotel is very nice. It is very clean and well staffed. The food is very good and lots of choices. Great service on the beach and pool areas. The room are lovely and very clean. Also room service is great and lots of choices 24 hours a day.

Dreams Huatulco: Nice resort

The hotel and grounds were kept very nice. The beach and drink service on the beach were fantastic. No having to book restaurants or having to wear wrist bands was also a plus. Only down falls for us where ; we had booked a king size bed and got to doubles. Also the deck off the lobby was under renovation, which would have been a great place at night. Deck was opening same day we were checking out.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Very nice resort!

Great hotel and amenities, service and restaurants are top quality! The beach leaves a little to be desired particularly in view of the seaweed problems experienced this year. The entire area looks like a construction site most of the time! That is the one thing which would drive us away from this entire area!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: was an ok resort

I was very disappointed by the beach. a lots of corals and tons of seaweeds. they are trying to keep up with it but the nature is stronger... to hear their little tractor all the time is not very relaxing. On my last day, Feb. 24 2018 room 1801. I left my Iphone charger on the table. The maid replace it with his old one,which was broken and left with mine. couldn't charge my phone for my trip back. Not too impressed

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Truly a five star !

What a gorgeous resort - quiet restful and well-appointed. Food was gourmet and service fabulous ! A little older crowd and no partying ! Wonderful vacation ! Would highly recommend it - worth the extra money !

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Great Getaway!

Crown Paradise Club Cancun delivered! Sun, sand, what else can you ask for. We were pleased to get what we expected. Our room faced the ocean (I believe they all do...a bonus!!!)Although very much a "Family Resort", we were very satisfied with the suite we paid extra for. Our room was one of the quietest I have been in. My husband and I were in suite 2701 which was at the end of the hall which was away from the elevators which we requested. We appreciated having breakfast in the "adult only" lou [... read more]nge on the 8th floor and were happy to end our day there for a drink and some hors d'oeuvres in a quiet atmosphere which suited us fine. Also, don't miss the adult only section in the buffet and the adult only pool. If you can't afford an "adult only" hotel, this will do the trick. We had to wait a bit for our check in but sitting on the beach made the time pass....The ocean is a bit rough, just be forewarned but we still went in it. The specialty restaurants are great but the only negative was when they cancelled our reservation at the french restaurant with only a few hours notice....they did book us somewhere else. I was dissapointed but quickly got over it. Book these as soon as you arrive or the next morning with the Concierge in the breakfast lounge. We went on the Snorkel and Tulum excursion. Both are recommended. Don't forget to put your name for the "Lagoon Cruise" on Tuesdays, with the main Concierge on the first floor. It is free and the Tequilla will be flowing freely. You will be served an amazing sit down lunch on the boat as well. A good few hours was had by all!!!! For a quick, cheap outing, go accross the street to the El Rey Zona Arqueologica....you will see ruins and lots of Iguanas. Great photo ops and a quiet tour at your own pace for only $3.50 American. The jet tub facing the ocean....what can I say! We flew with West Jet and quite enjoy our flight. Book the "Plus" service (only 12 seats per plane) You will get free booze, meal, hot towel and free tablet (which was much appreciated on our flight since the West Jet connect app was not available on the return flight but we still got to view some films to pass the time. Oh, and much more leg room! Very clean hotel and the staff is very friendly and ready to answer your questions. I had read some reviews that mentioned how the mattresses were hard, but for someone with back pain, I can honestly say that the mattresses were awesome. The pillows, not so much but it is what it is. I survived. If you purchase things in American money at the hotel they will give you Pesos back but if you go to the mall a short bus ride down the street they will give you American change (bus is $1 American and comes every few minutes- R1 or R2 will get you to the mall in front of the Westin Hotel) Just flag the bus down, they will stop. You can walk to the famous "CANCUN" sign overlooking the ocean at the public beach but be ready to wait in line as you are not the only one who wants that picture. We were told going early in the morning is best. A 7 minute walk from hotel at the most....All I can say is when can we go back?

Holiday Inn Ixtapa: Amazing resort

This was a great place. The beds were comfortable, resort was nice and clean. The beach was clean and beautiful. The staff were great, and the area felt very safe. I wish there was Guacamole there, but other than that, it was really good. Also, the bar doesn't open unitl 11, should be 10 am.

Barcelo Karmina: Nice Resort March 1st - March 8th 2018

I have been to this hotel a few times and sad to say in my opinion it has dropped down to a 4 star at most.Staff were friendly,food ok. I believe my star ratings below are fair. One example i can give you is if your not into doing the stairs try to get a room down low, elevators have been unreliable and i mean unreliable.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort

This resort was clean and well kept. The food was delicious and there was a good variety of restaurants. They have a coffee shop for your morning latte and an ice cream shop too. We could easily get a chair with shelter at the pool, but it was tough to get a shelter at the beach, they were usually taken, so go early. The water was great for swimming, but there is seaweed on the beach. The hotel tries to clean the beach everyday, but the seaweed just keeps coming! I learned how to make sushi, did Zumba and yoga on the beach, saw some good shows, went bowling, played pool volleyball, and everyday they had activities and competitions in the pool area. Service was good, rooms were clean. There is lots of walking on the resort because it is built perpendicular to the ocean, which is nice when you spend the week eating and drinking by the pool!!! They are very stingy with the beach towels...you only get one and you have to exchange it for a clean one, everyday and return it at the end of your stay to get a card back for check out or they charge you $100. It would be better if you could get a couple of towels, one to sit on, one to dry off, one for the beach etc. but we managed.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Beautiful Resort!

This is a large resort, with the grounds spread out, so be prepared to walk off your delicious meals, as the guest carts are few and far between. That being said, the grounds are beautiful!! When wearing the appropriate shoes, the walking was not a chore, but a pleasure! The staff was amazing, the rooms clean and the bar and wait staff accommodating and always going the extra mile to please! We really enjoyed our time and will be back!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great Family Resort!

With the help of Debbie Maguire, we chose this resort specifically with our autistic 19 year old grandson in mind as he loves to swim and especially wave pools. It is a beautiful resort and did not disappoint. However, for the amount of money we paid, I thought that the service could have been better and I'm generally not picky about service. Sometimes it was very good and other times, not good at all. I would say, that just as a couple, I would not choose to go there as we prefer smaller resorts, but all in all, a great place for families!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Sensimar Seaside Suites was another perfect Karisma vacation!

We had 10 days of perfect weather, amazing food & drinks, wonderful massage & aqua therapy & had our every whim looked after by Arturo, Anna & Ivan! We could not ask for more & highly recommend every Karisma resort we have been to!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Grand Bahia Principe Greta Resort

This was our 4th visit to this resort, so we knew what to expect. The food is always good to very good in the buffet and even better in most (not all) ala carte restaurants. The house wine is sub par so if you want something good order a bottle off the wine list. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had very low shower pressure in our room and hit and miss hot water on a couple of days, but it wasnt too big a deal. My only disappointment this trip was the beach.  [... read more]It is all mother nature and out of the resorts control. The sea has eroded quite a bit of the sand in the Coba Akumel areas. We were in Tulum and there was a ton of seaweed. The resort works every day to remove it, but some times its a losing battle. All in all a great place to visit

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Great Resort

The Sunscape Dorado Pacifico all inclusive resort is one I would recommend to anyone visiting the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area. The staff in all areas are very friendly and helpful. They make you feel welcome and safe. All areas of the resort are very clean. The resort is compact but not cramped. You can get anywhere without walking very far. The main pool is a good size so it's never crowded. It's also great that flotation devices are permitted to make the pool experience an even more enjoyable one. [... read more] The staff even blow them up for you which is an added bonus. The meals in all the restaurants are average and lacking in variety from day to day. The spa is very clean but pricey. Check in and check out is exceptionally friendly and quick. The staff at the reception desk are extremely helpful with any question you may have or any service you may need including ordering a taxi or making a reservation. All in all I'm very happy with the experience and would definitely return to this resort.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Awesome!

Everything was amazing. Out of the 10 or so resorts I’ve stayed at over the years, this one blows them out of the water! I’d highly recommend this to anyone. The only downside is there is a lot of stairs and no elevators!
