Brisas Del Caribe: Decent resort. Good for Familes.

Older areas need some repair work. Some leaking roofs in the corridors. Friendly staff. Bicycles need fixing. Like most Cuban resorts, there needs to be no smoking. I'd like to see more varied entertainment in the evenings.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Cuban resort!

The resort was new. The rooms were very modern, clean and well layed out. The staff was fantastic! The beach, pool and spa were all beautiful. Our travel rep helped us arrange great excursions to Havana and the countryside. I'd go again for sure!

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: not great

run down, food not good, very dirty, It says all inclusive ...but you can't get a drink within 10mins + if you don't tip t least $1 or 2 per drink. The bank at resort wont give change $5 bills is the smallest amount of change they will provide. crazy!!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: amazing resort

We had a great memorable time together with another couple, last year in February. the rooms was clean, we had fresh towels every day. food was not bad, it was a repetition of the same, but we didn't mind at all, after all they won't keep you hungry. very nice and friendly environment.

Paradisus Varadero: older structre, beautiful grounds/beach

Nicest beach in that area. Other nearby resorts are separated from the beach by a strip of vegetation (wood) therefore blocking the view to the beach. Great view from Paradisus even from inside lobby.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Gorgeous Hotel

Excellent food at all times, lots of choice, friendly staff, no loud mouthed Americans, lovely beach and no crowding around pools. Awesome coffee too! We loved the pool area and the beach was great too, although we are more users of the pool area. Would definitely go back. Loved the piano bar.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Excellent couples resort. A bit dated.

Excellent service, incredible beach, and food was top notch for Cuba. Night time entertainment shows were great, but the overall night life was pretty dull. Definitely a couples resort. I found the rooms to be very dated and a bit dirty. Also they decided to do a gigantic renovation of the main lobby and bar, which we were not aware of until we arrived.

Palma Real: GOOD TIME

THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO SAY NEGATIVE ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS THE FOOD AND THAT GOES WITH ALL CUBAN RESORTS. BRING SPICES LOTS OF THEM. SERVICE WAS GREAT. WEATHER WAS UNREAL FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY..RAINED ONE DAY..TAKE THE SAILBOAT EXCURSION..MADE THE TRIP....

Melia Marina Varadero: excellent, staff was so accomodating

Grounds were really clean, beach was great, food was excellent at buffet al a carte restaurant was not as good, we would reccomend this resort, and we plan to attend this resort again, We stayed in the marina apartments, but they were too far from pool and buffet

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great Memories at the Memories

I recently spent a weeks vacation with one of my sons at the Memories Varadero. Excellent experience! The staff customer service was fantastic. Beach was beautiful. Rooms were comfortable. Food was excellent. Entertainment was top notch. Excursions were fun. I purchased the Diamond Club option. Well worth it. Because I was with my 16 year old son, we decided to do 2 tours. The catamaran and the jeep safari. Had a fantastic time at both. The snorkeling was a little disappointing on the catamaran trip but the we made up for it on the jeep safari tour. The catamaran trip took us to the dolphin compound in the ocean. We were able to get in the water and pet the dolphins. We stayed after and took a special ride on the dolphins. All you need is a decent tip! Go for it! We were taken to a beautiful beach where we snorkeled for some time and then had an excellent lobster lunch. The boat ride was tons of fun. Open bar and plenty of friendly tourists. The jeep safari tour was the best. We toured through the wilderness to see some of the "real" Cuba. Quite an eye-opener. We went snorkeling. Beautiful coral and plenty of fish. Our guide in the water looked like Anderson Silva :) Drove to the caverns. The caverns were small but beautiful. We were able to swim and take some pictures and relax with a couple of beers. Onto the plantation where we toured through the capital of the province. We were able to taste some real bananas, honey, sugar cane, nuts, coconuts and more. We were then given a true Cuban lunch with some soup, veggies, fruit, rice and beans with a beverage. We took some time to take a quick ride on the horses and a paddleboat ride. Onto the river cruise. We decided to take advantage of the lobster dinner ($10 CUC). Well worth it. Back into the jeeps for a fun ride back. The beach is absolutely beautiful. We walked up and down the beach and visited a few of the other resorts to take a look at what they had to offer. Excellent swimming. On windy days, there were a few kite surfers as well. I spoke to a couple of them and they told me that it is an excellent place to come to when the wind is up. Memories always had lots of entertainment by the activity pool and the beach. The shows were fantastic. Talented Cuban performers! There is also a sports bar for anyone who would like to enjoy the latter part of the evenings. There is also a quiet pool if you aren't into the busy pool life. Food was better than I expected. I have been to Cuba 6 times and I was very impressed. Loads of choice. Excellent quality whether you are a big meat eater or vegan. I must thank the chefs and servers. Always smiling. Always ready to give you what you want. I enjoyed the omelets the most. I'm sorry that I can't remember her name, but, she always remembered me and was always very friendly and courteous. The same goes for the servers in the diamond club room. Gracias amigas!! Don't forget to show your appreciation with a few tips. It goes a long way. We weren't able to take in some of the historical tours, but, a few of the other tourists highly recommended the trip to Havana and the overnight tour that included the falls. As well, some of the other tourists said that it was fun to take the double-decker bus and tour the town. Loads of shopping at the Plaza Americana. Lots of bars to frequent as well! Memories has much to offer for any kind of vacationer. Family, young & older couples, young adults and friends. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Grand Memories Varadero: Excellent resort

A very clean well maintained resort We found the food to be very good and the rooms to be well stocked night time entertainment was great people were very friendly bar tenders were very helpful and the resort was five star in my books we plan to go back this winter

Melia Marina Varadero: Relaxing holiday

We recently stayed at the Melia Marina Varadero. The hotel is still fairly new (less than a year old) so it was quite nice. It had a nautical theme through out. Our room was located on the 4th floor and overlooked the marina....which was nice. I also thought the view from the pool side was very nice. The rooms were clean and spacious and had a very large separate shower! Because the hotel was new, the grounds weren't quite as lush as most places we have visited...but they were working on them. I [... read more]'m sure in a couple of years the vegetation will have grown quite a bit. The pool was very large with a kiddie (shallow) area at one end and the swim up bar on the other side. We actually stayed at the beach most of the day. The beach was absolutely stunning!! Loved the calm, crystal clear warm water. We always found a palapa to sit under...but the hotel was not full to capacity during our stay. I have to say the food was my biggest negative....and at the buffet it was never hot. We did try a couple of a la carte restaurants which were definitely better than the buffet. Overall I thought the hotel was nice and would probably recommend it to people if they improved on the food.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: a great time

the hotel was great .amazing big and not crazy busy for most of the trip .weather was great beach was great .and the service amazing. we were tended to every 10 minutes max.the rooms were clean and see inviting . my favorite part was free coconuts in the morning .

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Amazing time

We had a great time. The people were amazing and it was a beautiful resort. Can't wait to go back. The snack bar was great and the beach was absolutely fabulous. It was never too loud and the rooms were very clean

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort

Where our rooms were we too far from everything, a lot of walking. We were right at the back of the resort. Memories has a shuttle that picks you up and takes you where you want to go if it's too far to walk. Food was excellent, a lot of variety. When we checked out early in the morning we had called for room service, three times. Finally we just LUGGED our own luggage. When I got to the front desk I asked what happened and the girl said there was only one guy on duty and he was helping a large  [... read more]party. That is ridiculous!! At that hour of the morning , everyone is leaving, and they only have one bellboy on service!!!!!!

Starfish Varadero: Fantastic spot

Hotel is getting older. Toilet paper still a premium. Bungalow was clean and everything worked. Front desk is less challenging than in past visits. We arrived late bell hops were not available. Rain soaked all our luggage while looking for our room. Morning Sun brightened our outlook, food ran from palatable to not bad. Our room was well cleaned, beds "Good" (could not believe it). The beach was fantastic, pools were very good and clean. Overall our trip was stress free and can not wait to come back.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Beautiful but not worth it

I have to say the resort was beautiful but I had MAJOR issues with the toilet, a few times having NO toilet at all for the day in our room.. and had to have the toilet fixed daily, even urine would clog toilet lol. Other then that not too bad..

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great resort

Being a very fussy traveller myself, I always thoroughly research resorts and hotels before booking and just hope for the best. Well I can safely say I was hugely impressed with the Iberostar Varadero. Rooms were always air conditioned, spacious and beds were large and comfortable. The resort staff were friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. We relaxed and had the most amazing time and I would recommend this to any fussy traveller with high standards!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories Varadero only average

I think the rating needs to be reviewed-this is not a 4 star hotel-but could be with some TLC. Electrical wires were sticking out where fixtures should have been-toilet needed work-pool had area with rust stains. Althought, staff was excellent & very friendly - had excellent activities - even offered Spanish Classes(very few english speaking staff) the food was displayed beautifully but was very bland- Pina Coloda's were very good. If I returned to Cuba - would try another spot.

Club Kawama: Good for the money

Room was clean, Food So So (plenty of good and reasonably priced restaurants with in walking distance even Chinese :) Staff were pleasant and helpful always working around the resort. Location close to town and beachfront property is amazing :)
