Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: great resort!
The resort and service was excellent. The beach bar restaurant and beach was amazing. The rooms were roomy and clean. The night shows were well done particularly the Micheal Jackson tribute. Great vacation.
Roc Arenas Doradas: Great beach!
Amazing grounds and beach. Rooms are fine but mattresses were horrible. Food is nothing special. Drinks were mediocre, pinacolada was the only nice done cocktail. Bring your tumblers with you as cups in the bar a very small. Would not recommend to go their for more then $750 a week.
Roc Arenas Doradas: Mheh…get what you pay for
Rated as a 4star but the price gives the true rating. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing particularly good. The room and grounds were clean, just an older resort. Beach was great, if you're just looking to chill on the beach for a week at a lower rate this might be a good option. Sand fleas were pretty bad the week we were there, and mosquitoes in the lobby at night…bring bug spray and after bite.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Beach
Resort was undergoing construction & our room was quite near the mess, but it should be finished by now. Lovely beach, good food, good entertainment, nice pools and activities - we enjoyed our stay very much, despite construction noise.
Melia Marina Varadero: Best Resort in Cuba
The resort was very beautiful, large, bright, fresh flowers and very clean. The grounds were well kept, the pool was good size and the hot tub. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food at the buffet had a great selection and was very tasteful.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing resort
We had a great vacation during our entire stay. The staff was very kind and professional, the food was well above Cuban average, rooms spacious and clean and, last but not least, fantastic beach with paradise water.
Memories Jibacoa: Great Food...Great Snorkelling...Very relaxing
The grounds were impeccable and the staff were very friendly and always ready to answer any questions. Our room was very clean and we loved our location which was half way between the beach and the pool. This trip was our 20th (yes 20) to Cuba. We have been to various properties and I would say this is one of the best. Now if you are looking for a beach that has a sandy bottom in the water that goes on forever, then this might not be the place for you. It is definitely a beach for snorkeling. Yo [... read more]
Hotel Tuxpan: Great Small Resort
Loved the small intimate atmosphere. We were in a short walking distance of everything. Short line ups during peak times for food or drinks and the people were outstanding. There many not have been as many activities for kids or in general that you would see at the larger resorts, but they do a very good job for the resort size. Some rooms were dated (but it is Cuba) but was always clean. I expected the food to be less than great, but i have to say i was happily surprised. When we wanted a chan [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: Awful resort
The food was absolutely desgusting (but its again Cuban food). Very often we saw left over. Every time we took a shower, the bathroom flooded. We paid for premium room and got none of that. This was my first visit to Cuba but also the last.
Resonance Blu Varadero: a nice and cozy resort
my wife, myself , my sister and brother in law, really enjoyed the resort, we were happy by the welcoming and smiling staff attitude, the food was nice, the open bar as well, the evening events were ok, but the really nice thing is the beach and the streches of beach and sand; i liked it it was great value for money.
Melia Las Antillas: Beautiful resort, not so good food
My boyfriend and I stayed at melia las antillas from May 13-20. The resort itself and beach were beautiful, and we upgraded our room which was very nice. However, we felt pressured by the staff to tip in order to be served and the food caused my boyfriend to be sick for 3 days :( Overall I would not return to this resort because food is a very important aspect of a vacation for me.
Memories Jibacoa: Awe inspiring facility
A well oiled machine, this was, everything was done to sched, food wareat as were desserts. The grounds  were prun and spotlessrs Sponotless and the rooms were well looked after.I would recomend this ressort anytime to friends.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Can't complain!!
FOOD: the made-to-order stuff was great (omelettes, crepes, steak/ribs/beef/chicken/pork, fish) but prepared foods were hit or miss. Seasonings and spices were scant. I enjoyed the Cuban chips. BEACH/POOLS: always cabanas available, beach was gorgeous (best part!), pools/grounds well kept and staff kept us entertained. ROOMS: first room we were given was musty and awful, so we requested another (closer to gym and beach) and it was fantastic. Big roomy shower, robes, sitting area, veranda. It w [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Very excited to go back to Cuba
This year we were returning to Cuba after 5 years of exploring elsewhere but we returned for our fourth time. As usual, the beaches are fabulous and the sea to die four. This resort was clean and very well kept. All the pools are clean and inviting. We were there with friends this time and would go back again. The only negative thing to say really is the beds were a little hard. But everything else was great even the food was good. No complaints! I would recommend this hotel.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Fantastic Experience!
The grounds of the resort were immaculate! Staff took much pride in keeping this slice of paradise beautiful. The staff were attentive and service was always with a smile. We took the tour to Havana and experienced the Tropicana....I recommend this tour if you like to immerse yourself in the culture and history of places travelled. One day wasn't enough. Next time we would love to participate in a travel duo and split out vacation between two resorts in Cuba. We would return to the Melia Peninsu [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: great time
had an amazing time there. The staff as always were personable and pleasant and I will come back again and again. I have been here 3 times and have recommended the Melia Las Antilles to friends and co-workers.
Palma Real: about my trip
It was ok! What do you want me to say, stupid? It was just ok and that is all I can tell you. If you want me to say more and that would be pretty much all negative stuffs. Ok is a good credit for this hotel. You don't want me to say POOR!!
Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Only if it's really cheap!
Passable is the best I can say. The staff was very nice, nobody freaked when I took hotel food across the road to share with my local friends. But mu room flooded every time there was a good rain storm (I was not offered another room) it got cleaned up no problems but still. Only some rooms had fridges, was very clean though. Elevators are ancient and slightly scarey, one stopped on me for a nerve racked minute or two, phone in elevator did not work. Food pretty average for Cuba, the bars eh! If [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Terrific resort
New resort so it was not totally completed which didn't bother me or any of the people I travelled with. It will be amazing once it has been completed. Entertainment was mediocre. Resort was really nice.....staff were very friendly....decorated nicely
Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Allegro Varadero
nice hotel, appeal looks like 3 stars. but the beach is awesome! better than the one in Mexico that i have been. drinks are awesome as well, and i enjoyed the night show. food is good, every day is kinda different. good place to skip from the winter. and the first day i was there, a lady from NS said " i have been Cuba for 7 times and this is my fourth time to stay in this resort." sounds not bad right?
