Club Kawama: Great resort!

The location of the resort was the best. It is close to varadero downtown. The food was pretty good. You can always find something for yourself. The beach and water was very clean. Our room wasn't the greatest, however I saw the upgraded rooms which are a little more expensive but they are worth to pay some extra. I was missing a bar in the pool. Also, stuff should be informing people little more about the night disco because it was empty. The price was right for this place.

Los Delfines: Great little resort in the heart of downtown!

I went to Los delfines in March 2014. Had a great time! A group of 4 in our thirties. This resort is a little older and smaller than the new resorts. It's not a party place. It's more for the older crowd, relaxed environment. Lucheano The entertainment guy ROCKS! The food was good, beach was gorgeous. Lots of little restaurants right outside the resort if you want something different. Rooms were clean no bugs. Always had hot water. All in all no complaints!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: A Jewel

I have stayed at several resorts in the Varadero area and without a doubt this spot is one of the best. Resort has great selection of food, nightlife and gorgeous beach. Its location is central to the town . If your a cigar smoker like myself ! Your at home.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Very pleased with our stay!

We purchased our trip on price. We were looking for a nice place and were travelling on a budget. Our stay was very relaxed and comfortable. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Accommodations were neat and clean. We had heard not to expect much from Cuban cuisine however it was just fine with us. Cuba is the cleanest most pleasant country to visit. Both on and of the resort.

Grand Memories Varadero: It was not Nice

Unfortunately we weren't happy with the resort. I don't want to be negative but we had issues with our room not being cleaned and our towels not being changed. In the Second day I fell by the pool was badly bruised and when I went to report to somebody to get that piece fixed they patched it up before I witnessed 2 other people getting hurt. Sorry will not be returning. We flew with Sunwing and we were delayed 24 hrs on our way home. Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great family resort

Great for families - good size kids pool, activities, and (the kids favorite) a video arcade room with some playstations. Rooms are OK, ours was showing some age. Restaurants and buffet are very good by Cuban standards.

Starfish Jibacoa: relaxing trip

we have stayed in Jibacoa many times over the years Quiet and serene, Staff pleasant. food is okay if you like Cuban food. Still no Air conditioner in dining room . Lovely beach ,lots of areas to sit on beach, use of paddle boats and and other water craft great. Rooms are little bungalows spread out over resort. Cleaners very good.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Wonderful !

Dining in public restaurant was just fine. You would find your preferred taste and meal. The reserved restaurants were all full when we tried to make a reservation though! Better to make it before you travel. Rooms are good overall. Ventilation of restrooms are not so great. The mattresses could be better too. The public areas, beach, swimming pools and open bars are gorgeous.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: great vacation

the resort was very nice,beautiful beach.the staff very very good, the room with air transat where very close to the beach.nothing bad to say.for the money it a very good resort to go .i am planing to go back in december

Club Kawama: fair

is just ok, it will be much better once their work is finish, beach side is very very good, I hope people will stop leaving their empty glasses on the site once finish. Not just in Kawama impolite people seem to do it in every hotel.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great resort

Grounds were very clean, huge, and especially the staff, they gave great attention and also the maid for our room was excellent. Staff in the buffet lounge was very attentive to our wishes and it was very clean.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Always a great time

We stay every year, sometimes twice if we are lucky! The service is always top notch they really take care of you. We always stay in o e of the villas but I have heard that the hotel rooms are nice as well. The staff are the best, Daylin and Angie from the entertainment department do an outstanding job. I have never encounter any problem with the food, I have always been able to find something that is to my liking. Melia Marina Varadero: Fantastic resort & staff!!

Reading other reviews of various Cuban resorts made us a bit apprehensive, however the Melina Marina proved that no worries were happening there! The place, the people and the food were all fantastic!! Loved everything from the room to the tours & the pools & the beach! Can't say one negative thing about our 8 day stay except that we had to leave. :)

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful Resort, great beach but food is poor!

Grounds were beautiful,and the beach was awesome. We had a spectacular beach view from our room! The room's decor could stand to be refreshed, but for the most part it was fine The thing we noticed is that seems to be an issue with ground flooding in various areas throughout the resort. Public areas were clean although the public washrooms had toilets that remained out of service the entire week. The food was adequate, my wife became very sick on the 3rd day, and had to seek medical attention, s [... read more]ince we had only eaten on the resort, we felt it was something she ate at the buffet. A side note, make sure you take extra cash as all Dr's visits and medications have to be paid in cash only- no credit cards accepted, so prepare for the unexpected. All in all, we did have a good vacation (sickness aside) but won't return to this resort again . I wouldn't recommend this resort as the variety of foods was limited and after getting sick, you lose confidence in what you are eating.

Palma Real: Dissapointing

This is the first resort out of ten that I didn't find something I could eat. The carrots and veggies from supper would still be there at breakfast..yuk! The main dining area was really small and there were lineups for everything. You even had to wait outside until people left. We did not like any of the restaurants. The food lacked taste and variety. Same thing every single night at the Buffett . We ate in downtown Varadero a lot . Our first room was in the furthest building from the lobby. It  [... read more]took forever to check in. We had to wait for hours on the bar area before they would give us a key. There were no lights in the hallway and we were at the end of the hall. It was very dark even in the day but really dark at night. Our room stunk to high heaven...not just musty but extreme stink. When we went to bed we found out that they didn't put a top sheet that fit on the bed. They put a twin sheet sideways so it looked good with the bed made with the bedspread on. It didn't even come up to our knees and when we went to pull it up it pulled out of the bottom. It would've been funny if we weren't already really regretting our decision to choose the Palma Real. We asked to be moved. I use a Cpap machine for sleep apnea and after one night of that putrid air I had had it. Our next room was in the building across from the Buffett . It was identical to our first room but not smelly! The rooms are old but that wasn't a problem for us. This building was fine. All lights worked. The walk to the beach was fine but I'd never seen one with so much litter on it. Most days it was red flag so we couldn't go in and here were lots of waves. We liked Varadero and that this hotel was in the town. The grounds were small but well kept. We met some nice people and loved our day trip to Havana...not through the resort. Our guide was excellent and our driver too. We booked with another person and split three ways. Affordable and safe.

Playa Caleta: good value for money spent

When we arrived the staff were courteous and helpful. Our room apparently had just been renovated and was great the furniture was good and the balcony was overlooking the canal and was relatively private. The room was clean and no shortage of towels or toilet paper.The elevators were not always working which from the 7th floor was not great as we spent a lot of time waiting for whichever one was working.The pool area was very nice and with 2 pools one was fairly boisterous and one was quiet so w [... read more]hatever your mood you were fine. The beach was ok. There were numerous restaurants and bars. The buffet food was generally cold and skimpy but the snack bar at the pools was good with hot dogs and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. There was also an Italian restaurant where you could have made to order pizza and in the other building (as they were sister resorts) they served hamburgers hotdogs and French fries at lunch time . The ala carte restaurants were fabulous whether it was Chinese International or Italian. The coffee bar in the lobby made good capaccino and the bar service was good at all the bars.Overall I rate this as 4 out of 5 stars and would enjoy going back.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing!!! SO BEAUTIFUL

What we loved most what the beach! It was so beautiful :) lots of chairs for everyone, so stress free if you like to sleep in! The hotel was gorgeous, we had a really nice room with a king size bed. The staff was incredibly nice, never pushy to buy their stuff! Drinks were delish! Food was good, not always amazing but you definitely won't starve!

Blau Varadero: Really nice resort

Overall great trip beach, pools, grounds and location were all really amazing. Rooms and food not so much but still didn't ruin the trip it's was still amazing. The hotel was beautiful in the lobby area especially. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Starfish Jibacoa: Relaxing sun and surf.

As advertized older crowd and no frills. Great beach and snorkeling. Nice pools. Food ok . Good value. Close to Havana. Friendly staff. One hour from airport. Stayed two weeks in april. Lots of jellyfish warnings.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Very nice resort

Large resort at the end of peninsula of Varadero. Lovely garden layouts. Three restaurants to choose from with reservation , nicely decorated, great service and good food. Clean rooms and a really nice pool.
