Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Amazing trip BUT...BED BUGS!!!

Our family was having an amazing vacation until we were talking to others at the resort that kept waking up covered in unexplained bites. Asked the Air Transat rep and he confirmed the resort has a bed bugs problem and advised to sleep with bug spray on. We were terrified that we could bring something home in our luggage so we stopped to have our bags checked by a bed bug sniffing dog (Patches from Winnipegdog.ca) and found out there was something in one of our bags. Had to throw out the suitcas [... read more]e but it could’ve been a whole lot worse. The resort itself was great but having bed bugs is completely unacceptable for a 5 star resort! Stay away!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Great time!!

We had an amazing trip. Alot of rest and relaxation. Food was excellent. Drinks where good, good selection. Connoisseur was wonderful by our room, very informative. The only disappointment was that the beach was not great. Lots of seaweed on the beach because of the weather. They tried their best to clean it up each day.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Home from home

Just returned from our 9th time to GBP Coba, fantastic 2 weeks as always. Staff, service, resort, A La Carte dinners top notch. We shall be going back 22nd December-5th January. Carol Webber was great to deal with @ Trip Central, we shall be booking with her again.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: A fantastic overall experience.

Super resort for children. Friendly staff and fantastic food. Only complaint is speed of check in is very lengthy and service at bars was slow. The pools were well maintained and there was lots of activities to keep busy.

Occidental Cozumel: Want to go back!

Great beach, super easy snorkel spot, comfy beautiful rooms (Royal club), entertainment above and beyond big resorts, small population - friendlier crowd!, Albertos next door - party time! Snorkeling expeditions need less swimming, more looking. Good service - but the hotel timeshare hounds got to become more scarce - annoying. Food was good quality, maybe needed more variety in the buffets - NO TAMALES!!! Boo. Wanted more varieties of fish - not just one mushy one. Wanted more deep/local Mexica [... read more]n dishes.Coffee and wine were good. Olive restaurant - needs to make a better looking steak - Seafood restaurant at night - terrible.... Best food quality and service was at the Royal restaurant. LOVE scootering around the island. Super safe.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Great Week of Sun and Fun!

We spent 7 days in Paradise at the Occidental Costa Cancun from February 24th to March 3rd. The flight with Transat was smooth and we arrived with no issues. Transfer was a bit confusing but it all got figured out quickly. Staff at the resort was wonderful and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was good and drinks even better. It is a smaller resort and not in an area of Cancun that is close to downtown or the hotel zone. We were going for R&R and just fun and that's what we got. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort

Hotel and staff were amazing. Food and restaurants selections were amazing. The beach is a thing of beauty, with no vendors trying to sell you things, which is a blessing. Dealing with Carol Webber booking this trip was a pleasure. Thank you, Adrian Sims

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Birthday Visit

We stayed from Feb 24 to March 3. We were four couples of which two of us were celebrating milestone birthdays... I had e-mailed Corinna Weisker in PR two weeks before arrival to request our room be in building 3 if possible and to advise two of us would be celebrating birthdays.. We were given room 3002, which to me was perfect. Close to everything and on the quiet side of the resort. We have been to 5 other Myan Riviera resorts over the years (Excellence and Palace resorts) and were blown away with the experience we had in Akumal Bay Beach resort. The rooms in 3 and 4 blocks have fantastic beach views and short of an indoor bathtub are more then adequate for our stay. I have to say the service in the four specialty restaurants was exceptional and the food was great. Each meal lasted over two hours and we felt like Royalty when done. Unfortunately the seaweed was overwhelming the beach, as fast as they cleaned it off a new batch came in next day. Our group did go snorkeling down near the edge of the property near the next hotel and were able to see many fish but not lucky to see turtles. Lots of shelters and chairs on the beach and someone came around often with drinks. Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great resort

Beautiful resort, fantastic food, great service but disappointing preferred club extras. One big draw to the resort was that there was international beverages but they ran out every morning after two drinks! Also, we were unable to use a cabana for the whole trip as they were always taken (people payed staff to reserve them even though they said it wasn’t allowed) Chairs were hard to come by at the preferred pool too. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: great family resort

great family resort. lots of choices for food and entertainment. nice to have an adult section very clean. staff excellent. great location - walking distance to bucerias. well maintained - beautiful grounds

Canto Del Sol: Awesome vacation

Great place for a vacation. Close to marina if going on a boat trip. Beach access, 2 pool areas, friendly staff, really enjoyed our stay here. Only negative is the smoking area on the beach which if you want to go to the beach you cant avoid the second hand smoke.

Catalonia Yucatan: A good time.

This was our first experience at this resort and it was very memorable, it's kept very clean and the staff are amazing. The food was very delicious and the entertainment was outstanding. It has a beautiful beach that is protected but can be susceptible to see kelp. The main beach did become unusable toward the end of our trip due to the kelp but this seems to be a problem for all the resorts along this coast. I would like to see them change their policy with regards to liquor perhaps, when your [... read more] at an all inclusive and paying good money to be there, all there brands of liquor on the shelves should be available to whom ever stays at this resort as an all inclusive.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: 3rd time is a Charm

We continue to go back to the Del Mar because they have always provided us with great service and food. Lilly and Fanni the concierge staff greeted us even before we were checked in to make sure they could provide assistance which these ladies went out of there way to help. Jacito in the breakfast area by the pool always made every morning an entertaining and fun start to the day. Roger at the beach bar and Javier at the lobby bar were also great to keeping everybody looked after for refreshment [... read more]s. They seem to have made small improvements throughout the areas, ( likely only noticeable to return guests). The entertainment staff, Alex, Luis, Ruby, Lilyhan,Stephanie and Giovanni almost became family with all their energy, enthusiasm and open hearts. They kept us smiling and laughing all week along with the fun fun pool games.The attitude at the resort is laid back and happy. I was impressed to see that none of the staff were heads down on their cell phones while on work time. They were always attentive to any guests requests. A small casino has recently been added for entertainment. The bird wildlife is always a pleasure to see. The beach waitress Petra was always so cheerful and helpful everyday. Will plan for another return visit because we have not been let down so far on the service and the smiles.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Secrets The Vine was an excellent resort

The hotel was beautiful as was the service, staff and entertainment. We felt like royalty and no pressure to stick to schedules. There was plenty to do on the resort and meals were amazing. The only disappointment was the extended wait to get a table at the steak place. No reservations taken, first come first serve with no guarantee of a seating for dinner. The wait was in excess of two hours and our meal was served at 11:00 p.m.. The buffets and Sea Salt restaurants were our favourites. Shouts  [... read more]go out to many staff i.e. the Chef in buffet area who came out to greet us as well as Alonzo, Luis in the entertainment area around the pool, and Sergio our drink server around the pool. Everyone we encountered was incredibly helpful. We would definitely recommend the place to friends and family and return for a second visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had an amazing time!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Resort

The hotel was amazing, staff so polite and very helpful. Food was great. Wish the restrooms were closer and not so much walking as my partner had difficulty to they provided a special golf cart. They were very accommodating. The scenery was breathtaking.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: If you are looking for a family resort.....

This is it! Azul Fives is a beautiful resort ,full of families with small children. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is not it! It is however an amazing resort with lots of pools to enjoy and a wide variety of restaurants to suit everybody’s palette. They offer a variety of room styles ,from rooftop terraces,to swim up units, multiple room suites . Something for everyone! The proximity to Playa del Carmen is a quick cab ride away....very convenient and very fun! Staff at th [... read more]e resort are very nice, with the exception of the recruiters for their Prestige Club...our experience was less than positive. Certainly not worth giving up any vacation time to speak with them! Overall, great resort, great staff....great family resort!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great vacation

We'll start with the weather. 14 days of warmth and sunshine - never had that before during many previous trips to other destinations. The size of Las Brisas was a little overwhelming at the beginning but we got used to that quite quickly. A lot of steps and ramps ! After a day or two of adjusting to that, our legs felt good and we actually enjoyed the exercise. The quality and variety of the food was very good. Our room was quite nice, a comfortable bed, fridge stocked with our favorite sorft drink, and cleaned promtly and properly every morning. The shows at the theater were entertaining, as were the musical groups at the main bar. All in all, a very pleasant two weeks and we would surely go there again.

Grand Sunset Princess: pools pools and more pools

just returned from the mayan Riviera..stayed at the grand sunset princess..you cant go wrong with princess resorts..pools are all over the resort..we never felt crowded and they are very clean..staff are the best in the restuarants and around the pools..i would recommend this hotel for the value

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: LOVE, LOVE LOVE!!!

My husband & I were there for a week with our dear friends. The food was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful. Loved staying in the hills. Lots of good walking, to try to ward off those extra calories from the delicious poolside cocktails. With a shuttle to take us off to the beach multiple times during the day for our ocean fix worked well for us. We were in building 5, 4th floor, with an amazing view of the ocean. We were close to the adult pool, which had a coffee machine opened at 7 am for more coffee. Each morning I would see the staff cleaning the pools and organizing the deck. Jose was very friendly and helpful. Leo, our concierge was very accommodating and friendly. There are constant shuttles to take you to your reservation if you happen to stay by the pool a little longer, and need to make your reservation. The bands by the main pool each evening were wonderful to listen to. There is also a band at the beach, was also fantastic. At the moment, there are no showers to rinse off at the beach - they are working on that. There is food, bar and this is a part of the all inclusive. We took a taxi (cheap)into Sayulita one day,wonderful seaside town, great shopping, and Bucerius great shopping as well, and Puerto Vallarta, we had lunch at PiPi's, a few blocks back from the water, but delicious authentic Mexican food, the margaritas are so good and huge!!

Grand Sunset Princess: Still very good

I have been here 4 times so that speaks volumes. I still like it very much as overall it is good value. Buffets are very good while a LA Carter hit and miss. Rooms very nice and clean. Grounds beautiful. Amenities are superior with a great gym. Beach is large but rocky in the 1st 10 feet but seaweed issues too. Pools are fantastic as there are 3 pool bars very rare. Service is where I felt it got a little worse overall. Resort was not up to capacity and I found it slower than I remembered and I  [... read more]booked Sunset side and got Riviera,side despite it being the same hotel it was,a,bit inconvenient for departure. I did remind them about being there 4 times in the last 8 years and received nothing so that is why I will not return, but it is a,good resort. I give it a,4.25 star overall.
