Iberostar Selection Varadero: Five Star all the Way

Iberostar Varadero is everything you would expect and more. This was our second time here and we were given a terrific welcome with fruit plate, welcome back T shirts and rum in our room. We requested to be moved to the other side overlooking the garden and the very next day they had a room for us. Building 18, second floor - wonderful peaceful, close to beach. We ate fresh seafood everyday - especially shrimp and mussels for me. Eggs prepared right in front of you however you want them done for breakfast, also pancakes, French toast, hash browns, bacon -you name it. Pizza, pastas and burgers for those who can't get Canadian cuisine out of their sights. Salads, fruits, stews, casseroles, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fresh baked bread at every meal - how much more can you ask for? We usually go to Cuba in late January, but for other reasons had to go in early December. Varadero in general had problems with sand fleas this past winter and I am allergic to most bug bites. Wouldn't you know it, my legs from ankles to knees were red, swollen and blistered. I finally went to the on site doctor and had terrific treatment for a very reasonable price. Exam, shots, skin cleanup, antibiotic cream, antibiotic pills, follow up appointment- all for about $115 CAD! We flew WestJet this time and even though it was not a direct flight from Halifax, it still took much less time than a previous flight with SunWing which was something like 8 hours late leaving Halifax and about 15 or 18 hours late leaving Cuba.

Melia Marina Varadero: finally Five star in Cuba

Go for the VIP level and you won't believe u are in Cuba . Outstanding. Newest hotel in Veradero. Take a private taxi i($80) into Havana for day trip ,faster than sitting on tour bus all day. Good beach

Los Delfines: Super value resort

My husband wanted to stay "downtown varedero" to be able to walk around the streets enjoy the cafés and the old cars. This Cuban resort was right on the beautiful beach,clean rooms, nice pool and wonderful entertainment at night. We are planing to return next year and hope to stay for two weeks.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: unbelievable

Excellant place in every aspect. Loved the accomadations, loved the hostesses, wonderful waters, nice pools, good food, plenty of activities. The pnly downfall was that we only booked one week, not two

Melia Peninsula Varadero: So much fun

The staff are amazingly pleasant and helpful. The accommodations were adequate. The pool is great. The beach is beautiful and clean.The food is tolerable. Breakfast was really good. I can order eggs is Spanish now

Starfish Varadero: not bad but not great

The beach was beautiful ! Room was nice,food was OK, staff was pleasant. Drinks were not great and too many cats around the dinning and bar area. Would go back for the same price as we got a great deal. Would not recommend for first time guest

Resonance Blu Varadero: cuban paradise

I had an amazing time at memories! Cuba has become one of my favorite vacation spots. The people are amazing, the beaches are beautiful and the mojitis delicious. The pool is also a very fun time. Surely will return!

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Little bit pricey but a great time

The resort is fairly new and very friendly. The staff was simply wonderful except for the rude ladies in the a la cart restourants. Trust me it is not worth the wait. The amount of food and the service is lacking. We are very picky with food and we were happily suprized with the selection and the quality. Rooms were clean, good tv channels plenty the space and washroom was lovely. Fridge was restocked every day! The food at the snack bar was the worst don't eat the hotdogs but the ham and cheese was ok. Beach was simply perfect and so was the water. We are not pool Lovers although the pools were a good size and great swim up bar with awesome staff. We own a pool so we look forward to the ocean.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Very Nice

The staff is amazing. Very friendly They where great with my kids We loved the nice clean beach and all the activities. The paddle boat was great fun . Service in the buffet was very good Rooms where clean and comfortable Loved the sport pool , accept for the slide that was closed most of the the time .

Club Kawama: Great resort, especially for the Price

This resort is in a great location. Walking distance from downtown. Varadero. All activities close by, like renting scooters, sports bars, etc. On site, up to date venue. Awesome bars, friendly bartenders. Pool kept clean. Ok food, for the price we paid. 700 $ for one full week. Beautiful beach, could not be happier. Out of date rooms, but cozy and home like. Not your modern day resort, but if you like the vintage feel, go for it. Towels were an issue, not clean or ready on most days we were the [... read more]re. But if you pack your own this resort is a good pick. Entertainment every night including mariachi bands for dinner music.

Hotel Bella Costa: Simply An Amazing Resort

Hello everyone,we traveled to this hotel in the month of june for a week,it was our first time in Varadero. This hotel is a must visit, from the fast checkin to the end of the trip, the hotel n staff never disappointed Us. The grounds of the resort are very well maintained, n looks beautiful,the convenient size of the hotel makes you close to everything, the rooms are spacious and always well kept. Now comes to the best part,The Beach, wow wow wow best I ever seen in my life,the water was super nice n the sand is completely soft. The resort is very close to all the good places and there is scooter at the resort for rent 25cuc for a day which is very reasonable. For conclusion, hands down the best in varadero,you won't be disappointed.

Starfish Jibacoa: Amazing holiday!

My wife and I would go back to Villas Jibacoa, because of the location, the beach and the view from our room, was awesome. Beachfront! We love to swim in the ocean and the water is perfect for that. The people and staff are most friendly and make one feel like they are welcome and want you to come back. As far as food goes, one can always find something fresh and hot. Some work is needed in the lobby and rooms, but who stays in, when the ocean and sun is waiting for you to enjoy.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Okay resort with friendly people

The hotel was nice. The rooms were fairly clean although I would have loved to have a broom as the floors got worse as the week went on. The grounds were nice, there were always workers grooming the gardens. The pools could have used a cleaning there was always stuff floating around. The nightly entertainment could have been better it seemed as though the shows were put together last minute. The people were very friendly and I would have to say that was the best part of the trip. Everyone said the beaches in Cuba are beautiful but I wasn't impressed with sand as it hurt your feet.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Not so great

No hot water, no elevators, did was ok....people awesome and trustworthy...absolutely loved the beach, the beach bar, very clean....alcohol was always draft or Dixie cups no bottles of anything...housekeepers were sweethearts, gave us extra water and clean linen...but over all I would never go back and I would suggest anyone go it was run down and pretty shabby....midnight buffet considered of ham sandwiches only for all 7 days

Barcelo Solymar: Not bad at all

I went to the Barcelo Solymar June 1-8 2014. The staff were incredibly helpful, bar tenders made your drink how you like them and it was always easy to find asstisance. Our room was okay, bathroom didn't really seem like it got cleaned but the rest of our room was tidy. Food was basically not eatable in the buffet. Wasn't expecting much from Cuba but I was shocked at how bad it was. The Italian restaurant was better and we didn't go to any a la cartes. This IS NOT a resort for family OR couples. The age group is very young and it's a total part all day everyday. I loved it as I went with my brother and cousin but I notice a lot of families were unhappy. The beach is absolutely beautiful

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort for families

This resort has nice facilities for the kids( waterslides, pirate boat, snack bar...) Our daughter and her 2 kids really enjoyed it. Food was great at both buffet restaurants and the 2 a la carte (Japanese and Italian) that we visited. Beach was excellent with lots of chairs and umbrellas and so were the grounds and room facilities.The shows for the kids and adults afterwards were also excellent. The safe in the rooms were not properly anchored and could be simply lifted off the wall. Also the b [... read more]anking facility was awful with a very small window with only one attendant who would not give you smaller bills than 10 pesos. The main desk would not give you change either. We had to deal with resort personnel one on one to get change.

Starfish Varadero: good resort

the people was 5 star,food was great molst of grounds were good but the ponds by back entrance could have been cleaner and better internet to get email lol,but would go back maybe in few years,got go other places first not unless super deal lol

Melia Marina Varadero: amazing, beautiful, new resort

Great vacation at a new resort. Very modern, food was exceptional, staff were very friendly.Jennifer at trip central recommended this resort and we're so glad she did. The beach was amazing, clean warm, lots of lounges for everyone. I would love to go back in a year, when all the shops are up and running.

Sol Varadero Beach: Resort is really amazing but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Resort was really amazing but the roomes need a real good makeover as it needed update with the furniture, beds had really old and smelling linen. Wash rooms were old fashioned . The workers are mostly good but the one who came to our room was very greedy and wanted us to give her something everyday we really gave her but she wanted more, sometimes demanding. Over all we had a good vacation. Pls do make updates and i am sure it will be a nice place for vacations..........

Hotel Internacional: LOCATION! location ---location

This hotel is on the beach! One of the oldest in Varadero, it still offers a look at fifties opulence. Marble floors in the lobby etc. Service is great The buffets are adequate but limited choices. Offers an old Vegas style cabaret and has an excellent dining room where you can eat each night Visit if you are looking for visit to the 50s
