My wife and our three girls (23,19 & 19) really enjoyed Sunscape. The best quality about this resort is the service, top notch. Antonio, Uli and Carlos were simply amazing! Thanks guys! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and they stocked your fridge every day. The food was very good, we always found something we liked on the menu/buffet. The Italian al la carte was excellent. They also have a snack truck which was great for lunch items. The pool was designed perfectly. The pool b[... read more]ar on one side of the bridge, then a large section for those who like to chill on the other side and then another section where the water slides are. There was lots of seating around the pool except it was disappointing as all the good spots are taken by those who get up at 5 in the morning and they stay down there until the towels are distributed at 7:00 am. Very territorial as we called it. There is not a lot of seating on the beach as its mainly for Sun Club people and if there was seating, its muskoka chairs. We actually rented a palapye bed on the beach for 30US which included a bottle of white wine and it was fantastic. Very comfortable and private. We have stayed at many other resorts in Ixtapa and I can honestly say that the Sunscape so far has been the best resort and we highly recommend it. Thanks so much Tracy for booking this trip for us!!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort
My husband and I visited for 9 days for his 60th birthday. We usually travel South a couple of times each winter but this year we were only able to go once so we decided on 9 days and picked the Royalton Riviera Cancun. We got the diamond club with a swim out room. The place is amazing, its huge and yet u don't need a shuttle to get around. There are alot of ramps and escalators and even elevators. The pools are all beautiful and large with plenty of loungers. In the diamond club there is a pool[... read more] person who gets u a spot, if you don't get your own and he comes around with extra towels. We had a butler who visited us several times a day to make sure all our needs were met and checked on our maid service and also made our dinner reservations as we requested, again these guys were fabulous, very attentive and helpful. The food is great in all restaurants, we were never disappointed with any of it, even the buffet was great. I would like to add its the biggest buffet i have ever seen in all my travels, plenty of variety indeed. There are several spots to eat, breakfast if you prefer not to do the buffet which is a nice change also. We even used the room service for his birthday breakfast and the service again was awesome. All the entertainment, day or night was very good and made our trip interesting and fun. We went to relax and chill out so we didn't take any tours etc but there are plenty of tour options if that's what you desire. We prefer to stick around the resort and its so pleasant with enough going on that we never once got bored. All the staff we encountered were constantly smiling and very pleasant made, this made our stay even more welcoming. The only negative i would have to say is the beach area, for swimming was not great as there is alot of seaweed at this time of year and for us it didn't make getting into the ocean appealing. But to take a walk or sit on loungers, have some lunch and hit the beach bar it was fine. We have always said it would be nice to find our "spot" for winter vacation and just go back every year and know we will not be disappointed. So YES we have now found the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and both my husband and I cant wait to return again. I just loved this place!

Canto Del Sol: A Great Time!
Second time at resort. Service was great. Food was great. Could use a bigger drink menu. Evening entertainment was ok. Could use more entertainers and bigger variety of acts. Hated fact that all pool and beach chairs were reserved so early despite having “No Reservation†signs everywhere. Didn’t think it should be necessary to get up at 7 am to reserve a chair. People should be MORE CONSIDERATE!!!

Temptation Resort & Spa: We had an AMAZING time!!!
We stayed from Feb. 22nd to March 1st, 2018. We had the most amazing time!! This was our first visit to this resort and we are definitely going back! The resort has to be the cleanest resort we have ever been to....there is always people cleaning! You could eat off the floors.
The food was amazing. We ate at all but the seafood and Mexican restaurants. The tapenyaki show and food was so so good. The menu at the SHE was superb and the restaurant's concept of sensuality was romantic and we[... read more] loved every minute of it. Miguel at the SHE was awesome. Flame is a great steakhouse and did not disappoint. Francisco served us great steaks and did an amazing flame dessert for us. Our other Francisco served us breakfast every morning at the Flame buffet. He looked after us so well. The coffee shop made awesome chai tea lattes!
Then there's the "playmakers" the entertainment team. Mini Cooper, Laura, Shelby, Lollipop, Pedro were awesome and kept us entertained at the pool all day with their games. They were Awesome! At night, love Julio....He made us feel so welcome! The theme nights and entertainment were so much fun. Now that I know what to expect on theme nights I will be packing a bit differently**wink! This resort is definitely not for everyone. 80% of the women are topless during the day and depending on the theme night don't wear much more. We loved it!! We are a bit of a larger couple so was a little apprehensive but discovered no one judged and no one cared how you looked or what you wore. It was so refreshing and freeing. I always felt safe, relaxed and well, sexually charged but...no means No is one of the rules and strictly enforced!!
The staff was amazing, although we did not like all the pressure sales to get us to look into the Premier Club. We made it very clear we weren't interested and don't pay the $20 to hold the appointment.
The rooms are very updated as it was renovated last year. Our room was near the quiet pool and had no trouble sleeping. The Tower could very much hear the party until 2am. That's too noisy when trying to sleep! The pool is large but the beach is very small with marinas on both sides but you could still go for a good walk or run.
We have nothing negative to say about this resort and will be returning for many years to come. This place promotes sensuality and sexuality and it was just what we needed to just reconnect with each other⤠We can't wait to return!

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Great time!
We had a great time, hotel was clean and the food was good. It’s close to everything, so super easy to get to all the places for day trips. The only issues we had was the walls in the hotel are paper thin. We switched rooms once and it didn’t help, it was almost as if our neighbors were right in the room with us...hotel staff was more then willing to move us again or give the neighbors a warning tho. Also, the beach area wasn’t that big.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Family friendly fun
Family of four just returned from a one week stay at Coba.
Pros: great Waterpark, few slides a bit dangerously fast for little ones. Buffet had great selection. Shuttles came often to go to the beach or other hotels on site. Kid club was good but only attended one day. Great Disney show.
Cons: beach on Tulum side was hard to get chairs in shade when busy too much seaweed but staff were working super hard to clean it. Wait staff at buffet took a while to come at times. Rooms and beds are sma[... read more]ll.
Overall we had great time. If going now beware of seaweed. Akumal beach has less. Times for shows not very clear. Long distance from airport.

Grand Sunset Princess: In a word - outstanding!
A well maintained and very clean resort. Service/staff were terrific. Beaches were pristine. Pool games were a delight.
The only issue I had was the shopping excursion that included both a trip to a silver jewelry maker and tequila factory which did not allow for much shopping time within the village area off the resort. We had no idea we would be visiting the jeweler and tequila factory and felt pressured by staff at the jeweler to purchase something.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Friendly
The resort was very clean and safe. Staff were very helpful.no problem getting around as most people were able to communicate in English and understand my poor Spanish.my only dislike was the saving of beach chairs by using towels or floaties, and the chairs being unused for the majority of the day.

The resort was fantastic and the staff did what they could to ensure that our vacation was enjoyable and memorable. We were able to use the facilities of all 4 member resorts. Catalonia Playa Maroma: Good value fo the dollar,
We had a very relaxing week, updated rooms and restaurants since we were here years ago. Beautiful grounds with lots of outdoor furniture to play games, eat, drink, whatever. lots of sun lounges on the beach.
Food quite good but hot food cold or warm at best in the buffet.
Beach good but loads of seaweed right now so you have to walk through it to get into the ocean. Didn’t stop us from swimming every day.

Riu Dunamar: Lovely new resort.
Rooms were great. I think all rooms had a partial view of the water. AC was a noisy hum. Grounds are well kept. Still developing. Very clean; always someone around sweeping; mopping; wiping. A la cartes were at most a 40 minute wait depending on the night. They also seemed to be hit and miss on the food quality. We went to the steak place twice and the first night the steak and ribs were tender and tasty. A few nights later, they were dry and tough. We walked out and went to the buffet. [... read more] Jose in the lobby bar always had a smile on his face and was very friendly. Evening entertainment in the lobby was nice. ie: sax player Evening entertainment at the theatre was not very good. One night was "Mr. Riu" and other "Couples Night" so you know when they do that, they do not have entertainers and are just making up a show with some guests in it. The only evening that I enjoyed was the Circus show; it was excellente!
Our first night there, the fire alarm went off about 4:20 in the morning. Scared the bejeebers out of me as I had been in a deep sleep. We left our room and went down four flights of stairs to the lobby. There were no staff around the hotel except one person in the lobby to advise us on the situation. It was finally determined to be a faulty sensor at pool#4. Our last night there (wee hours of march 01st), the alarm went off three times. It was a false alarm each time and at least this time the staff was quicker about advising us. Whatever is setting off the alarm; it needs to be looked after. Resort is 45 min north of the airport so a bit remote especially as there is currently no bus service. Cab ride is $30 one way. I would return to this resort if they fixed the fire alarm sensor and had a shuttle or bus service. Also need to improve their evening shows.

Paradisus Cancun: Amazing resort!!
This resort is 20 minutes from the airport....you arrive in no time... Check in was slow but there was an employee there serving you drinks while you waited for your room key. Check in took about an hour...that is my only complaint. The grounds, beach, ocean, food, drinks, service were all above par. We got in to every restaurant we wanted with no issues. Food was excellent. Service was excellent . We never waited long before a waiter came to ask us if we were ready for a drink at the poo[... read more]l. Everyone was very friendly......Especially Michael Lara, a pool employee. He made us feel comfortable and welcoming at the pool. They have a coffee station that you were welcome to use when it was open for free coffee and very fresh donuts. I loved the cappacinos! Also had an icecream bar open during the day with candy and syrup toppings to use. The room was large with very comfortable beds and a large shower in the bathroom. I would definitely book this hotel again. I miss it already!

Crown Paradise Club: good Resort
Nice rooms.Grounds always clean and staff constantly working on them. The only thing sadly lacking to me was the food . There was a wide variety but always the same. Quality was below average. Ate only at the buffet in the morning and a couple of nights went out to eat mostly. Staff were all very good and hospitable. Beach is excellent and spent a lot of time there. This was my third time to stay at this hotel and enjoyed my stay every time but found the food lacking every time and if this was[... read more] improved this would be the four stars it is rated.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great Resort, but a terrible front desk
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Puerto Vallarta on February 17-24th in the Imperial Club Master Junior Suite in building 4. The Direct Transfer from Airport to resort turned out to be a milk run stopping at multiple hotels, even though we paid for Direct Transfer. The Air Transat lady at Airport was arguing with the shuttle people to get us a direct transfer and he wouldn't do it. He finally compromised after 5 minutes or arguing, the milk run bus stopped at our hotel first. We arrived at 1 p[... read more]m and they told us the room will be ready at 3 pm on the second floor. We came back at 3 pm at it still wasn't ready and to come back at 3:10, then 3:20, then 3:40, then 3:50 and finally at 4 pm we were given a room on the 1st floor, which we declined as we requested the 2nd or higher. When we asked for the room we were promised, the supervisor told us that nobody had promised the room, but the young man was right beside her. We finally got our room at 6 pm. I asked if that is how you treat your imperial club guests? She didn't reply. After check-in, we received a Check-out slip in Spanish. Why? We went to the Air Transat agent the next day and he was very apologetic for the problems and would get to us later that day. He asked us to come back at 3 pm and he would find out what happened. We went back at 3 pm and all we got from him was excuses, such as a 5 hour check-in was normal. What nonsense was this? We stayed at this Grand Palladium hotel because we had stayed at the Mayan Rivera hotel prior with Imperial Club and it was excellent. Imperial Club at this resort means absolutely nothing. You get nothing for the extra money that you paid! The maid service was excellent and the room, when we eventually got it was excellent in building 4. The staff that work the bars and buffets make up for the useless check-in counter staff. The staff at the Steakhouse were terrible. The cowboy steak I had the first night was RAW! I sent it back and it came back so tough that it was inedible. My wife's steak was supposed to be well done and came back medium. Back it went and came back half well-done and the rest medium well. The rude lady at the Italian restaurant turned us off that restaurant, so after 2 bad experiences, we went to the buffets for all of our meals that for the most part were excellent. A big shout out to the Carlos and staff at the Secrets bar, especially the warm smile you got everyday from Melissa. All of the beach bar staff are EXCELLENT, especially Antonio, Omar and Ezekel and a lovely woman that I didn't write he name down. We sat in the main buffet section and were served by the lovely Judith! We were treated like family every day. We missed seeing her on her day off. The gang at Hemingway's were excellent and very entertaining, as we went there every night. We had great breakfasts and lunch's at the Punta Mita buffet by building 5. The resort was very beautiful and we loved walking around the resort. No need for a gym as there are a lot of steps. The beach was awesome and we spent most of our time there. In all, the restaurant, maid and bar Staff are excellent, except for Steakhouse and Italian restaurants. Would I go back? Never! Even though sitting on the beach, watching whales breach in the bay was awesome, we were let down the Steakhouse and Italian restaurants. The check-in process was the worst I've had in 30 years of travelling in the Caribbean. At the Mayan Riviera hotel, Imperial Club meant something, but that doesn't seem to be the case at this hotel.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Almost on the highway, very noisy
Main problem is the location. It is 20 meters from the main highway of Los Cabos and in half of the room the noise from the highway will prevent you to sleep, literally. The first room we had had some mildew everywhere around the bath, the second one had its door in the highway so too noisy. The third room was OK and quiet but we had to fight with hotel first and then with Sunwing. We asked to be relocated in another resort and they refuse stating that we would have a penalty equivalent to three[... read more] nights, very unpleasant experience. If I exclude this major problem the staff of the hotel is very professional and accommodating. This hotel is not a five star, do not go there.

Occidental Tucancun: Fabulous service
This was our first time in Cancún as we usually go to the riviera maya. We loved it.
There are a lot of stairs so might not be a good choice for people with mobility issues. The hotel is on the upper level with the three pools staggered down the stairs to the huge beach area at the bottom. We were there for the last week of February and regardless of the pool or beach we could always find a lounge chair. That was a nice change.
There was often a line at the family pool bar but the other two[... read more] pool bars were rarely busy. Pablo did a good job running around the resort keeping everyone hydrated.
The rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. The room was well stocked and comfortable. We were travelling with another couple and the desk was very accommodating and ensured that our rooms were beside each other. This never happens!
The food was very good and considering it is a smaller resort than we are used to the variety and themes in the small buffet kept dinners from being too repetitive. The two a la carte restaurants did a great job and offered a good menu. My daughter did not travel with us but she is vegetarian and I often looked at the food choices to see if there were options for her. I don’t think that she would have fared well. Mexico likes their meat and seafood.
The biggest treat for us was the friendly service. Omar and Fabian and Nancy and Tomas and Karyme and Antonio just to name a few made this trip extra special.
The location is great. The hotel is on this wide expanse of beach but when you walk out of the hotel you are across the street from a huge shopping mall and steps away from the local bus that goes by every other minute to take you into town. If you want to grab a meal off the resort there are many nearby options.
