Melia Costa Rey: Pullman Cayo Coco

This resort was ok. But it needs lots of renovations. The rooms were good. Our cleaner was wonderful, kept our place very clean. Food was ok, as expected being in Cuba. All the Cuban staff were wonderful. They do their very best. Drinks need improvement. The beach was excellent also the pools. The Cuban people are the best. Next time we go to Cuba it won't be during rainy season. So many mosquitoes and flies.

Hotel Playa Coco: Disappointed

Well where do I start? Love the Cuban people they are so deprived and the workers/ gardener's,they ask you to bring them food from buffet.They use to appreciate tips but not this time...we were tipping every one everywhere. We happen to just get off the catermran and gave the guy a great tip and wanted a drink at the beach bar on the way back. And when we didn't give a tip we got yelled at from a worker in black pants and white shirt and female bartender "what no tip?" "No tip?" As we walked awa [... read more]y. The food was not alot of choices and was cold at lunch and dinners. And if it wasn't for the omletes in the morning it would have been horrible. The Cuban restaurant was delicious!!! Now about our room after checking out 5 rooms in search of one without a overwhelming stench of mold and mildew. They all smell don't forget these rooms have been closed up tight for 2 years of covid.We found one least of the smell but on the third floor. We are older and M many stairs to climb daily.Guest at motel are so friendly and like myself is a repeat customer.In which they had a really lovely dinner for us all. The beach is beautiful, so it is at pullman, a much nicer resort with plenty of food and no mold or mildew. I will not likely return to cayo coco but instead spend my money somewhere else. When I go away i want to be pampered, eat good and not be serving the workers...Feeling sorry for the Cuban people is not enough to get me back.

Hotel Mojito: Beautiful Resort

The rooms needs updating, quite a lot of cracks around doors, bugs can enter, otherwise rooms were clean, staff were always nice and friendly,shows were good, but need to start around 9:00 not 9:30, noticed a lot of people were leaving before 9:30

Hotel Camino del Mar: Disappointing resort

We had been in this resort for four to five years before the pandemic. This time the resort was far behind the services we had before. We only could have mainly eggs for our breakfast and fried fishes, pumpkins and eggs for our lunches and dinners. The management was deteriorated much in comparing with four years ago. Last day of our visit, we needed to check out at noon time but our time for leaving to the airport was 1800 hours. We wished to retain one of rooms for late check out to our leavin [... read more]g time. The charge was remarkable high of US$10 per hour, quite disappointing. Besides, I did not have hot water supply to my room and poor air-conditioning to my friend's room. Nevertheless, the cleanliness of the rooms was up to standard as previous years.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fantastic as always and improving

Just returned from our 8th stay since Covid restrictions lifted. We go diamond club which I recommend especially if you have a later flight and enjoy a few extras. We did notice any shortages to speak of this trip. Everyone from reception, lobby bar, buffet, snack bar and diamond club areas were fantastic. We only ate at the buffet twice and no complaints. Diamond club restaurant breakfast and dinner were excellent. Not many changes in the menu but that doesn't bother us at all. We stayed in an [... read more] Al Fresco suite, our favorite with the outdoor shower. Comfortable with lots of room. There is also a new manager since our last visit, Iago, and I will say that he is taking the hotel in the right direction. The changes he's implementing are noticeable and making a difference. We look forward to returning again soon.

Melia Costa Rey: Roaches everywhere!!

Although we enjoyed our family vacation because we can enjoy ourself anywhere when we are together , I wouldn't recommend this resort at all . We picked it because the reviews were all positive and they are baby friendly. Our first night getting there , we got raided with mosquito bites! The stewardess decided not to give us a visa so we had to wait for the whole plane to go through while my 8 month old was being covered with a blanket as to not get him full of bites . We went to the snack bar to get a snack and drink after a long flight and the man working behind the bar did not crack smile nor did he acknowledge our presences. By the second night I felt so uncomfortable to go get a drink because the worker were all miserable and expected a tip for horrible service . Even when you'd give them 5 canadian dollars for pouring a flat beer ,they'd treat you like shit . While we would be eating the servers would come up to the table put the change down ,count it and then ask if you would change it to a bill, one of them even brought a napkin so we could clean our hands . Not to mention they have ROACHES in every restaurant on the resort. I don't 1understand how in no reviews did it mention the roaches , it was absolutely disgusting. I can count on 1 hand who was nice and welcoming from the staff . Overall if you want to be sick from old roaches infested food and treated like dirt then I'd strongly recommend this resort . If not I'd say stick to Varadero ,maybe you'd have better chance of being treated like a paying customer.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

This our second visit to this resort this year. The first time we stayed in a standard room, had no issues what so ever. Last week when we went for the second time we booked a junior suite. Absolutely loved it, room was clean, air conditioner worked great, had tons of hot water and loved the outdoor shower. The soup are for sure worth trying ! When at the resort you must go to Beans & see Yusmilba!! She is amazing , she has such a warm personality & so friendly. Her creations on your coffee are beautiful. The Ice cream is also a must !! The resort has a new general manager Iago Cela & is very welcoming & we seen him several times throughout our stay wanted to make our holiday was going as expected. The staff at the resort were all willing to please. Will for sure be returning again

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Everything I needed and more!

I had an amazing week at this resort in May 2023. Bus ride was 1/2 hour from the airport. Rooms are big and spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is big but well configured and clean. Beach was breathtaking! For having food shortages in the country I had no issues with food! Omelettes, eggs, toast, cheese, pizza, pasta, burgers, fries, rice, fruits. Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great time!

My room was beautiful. I especially loved the swim up room. So worth it! The grounds were very nice and the buildings with the rooms were very pretty. Now this is not the fault of Cuba or the resort, but the weather sucked, rainy and overcast. I made the best of it. I went to the beach which was really nice. No seaweed, no rocks and shallow. Lots of fruit like watermelon, pineapple and mangos. A lot of pork dishes. Their was a lot of buns etc. You definitely won't go hungry. Anyway I enjoyed my time there though I wish it was a little busier and the weather was better

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great hotel

I have been to over 20 hotels in Cuba. By far this was the best. The food was very good. Much above the standard Cuban hotel dining experience. The hotel was about 20 minutes away from the airport. The rooms were bright, clean and big. Everything was working. I would expect that since the hotel is only been open 6 months. I only had two complaints for the vacation. Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Lovely as it's new.

Beautiful rooms.food was OK,. Amenities, shops and everything seemed so far apart. I asked for bottled water and had a difficult time.gettimg drinking water. Beaches are gorgeous, bugs were really. Ad this time of year .

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Average resort

My wife and I are not the type of people that complain, in fact, we are the people that make fun of people that complain. I will start with the good. The beach is world class, fantastic out of this world. The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. At least the room we stayed at in Unit 1 does. I could not even open the balcony door because the door was not working properly. The power went out almost every night for an hour. As someone using a CPAP, this is a big problem. The shower [... read more] had zero pressure. We opted for Diamond Club in hopes of avoiding some of these issues. No such luck. The food was typical Cuban food. Nothing more, nothing less. For those of you that are thinking that you will just have a Hamburger, Hot Dog or Pizza in the event that you don't like the food, Forget it, they had none of those options. We had one of our waiters in the Diamond Club restaurant that brought sugar from his house for the guests because they ran out for the coffees in the morning. The shortages were more apparent with the alcohol. No vodka the entire week, No wine most days except in the dining room, Cristal on tap would often be missing forcing them to use canned beer, no ingredients for signature drinks like Mojitos most days. They have Rum and Whiskey. All of this to say that none of it is the employees fault. The staff was very apologetic and very nice. This would probably have been a pretty good vacation had the shortages not been so bad. We won't be returning to Cuba until they figure their economy out. Too bad because the beach and ocean at this resort was world class.

We enjoyed staying at the resort as all the staff were courteous & professional. There were many issues that need to change to make it worth returning for: 1. No bottled water in room for the first 24 hours. 2. The mosquitoes ate me alive all week in the lobby/bar area, morning, noon, night. I was totally covered by the end of the week. 3. Phone in room did not work all week & had to walk to lobby for any issues or requests…no room service… 4. No consistent hot water in bathroom. 5. very relaxing, good size room with king bed, water delivered daily, great staff.. absolutely no complaints. it is however, rainy season... although rain only during the night for about an hour, the humidity did bring the "mosquitos" . best travel time is definitely in November... Sol Cayo Coco: Nice Resort

A smaller and older hotel than others. It is definitely looking tired and worn, but the location is fabulous. Beautiful beach and a deserted hidden cove make this quiet hotel a relaxing find. Food was restricted in choice, but lots of fish, rice, vegetables. Limited salad items. The staff went out of their way to help and were all very friendly. Nice quiet background music during the day, attentive poolside bar staff, choice of four pools. Only 20 minutes from the airport.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Decent Resort

The resort itself is decent. Almost all the staff are amazing. The “beach” at the resort is pretty nonexistent and you need to either walk down to the right or left for any type of beach area. Pillar Beach down the road is breathtakingly gorgeous! Highly recommend visiting there!! The huge downside to this resort is the food. Some of the food was also recycled so many times that it no longer even resembled what it was supposed to be. There was scrambled eggs on the buffet that were literally dark brown!! Yuck! We met multiple people who got sick while there and it took over a week for my husband’s stomach issues to finally go away. The only saving grace was the hamburger (which is more like chicken?) and fries at the snack bar…this is literally what we ate all week. The drinks were all amazing and I was honestly shocked at how good they were. The infinity pool was a smoggy green color, even though there were maybe only 10-15 people using it daily. The view from our room was amazing (block 8) and we loved sitting out and watching the ocean. We even got the treat of a thunderstorm the one night. We also had small random items go missing from our room including some of my husband’s meds that were in the safe… Due to the many downfalls we experienced, we would not return to this resort. Ps all the landscapers worked so hard and were all amazing men. If you are going and can spare some socks for them, they are in desperate need!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Cheap & Cheerful

The customer service is good. You won't starve. There will be temporary food shortages such as coffee or drinks or bread. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The staff really try to accommodate & give their best. The hotel is run down & not the cleanest. But, the staff & beach make up for it. Diamond Plus package will ensure you get a clean, updated room. This place is worth a visit if you pay max $750 per week. Activities are good, the staff plan well to entertain the guests.

Melia Costa Rey: Pullman Cayo Coco subpar resort

The beach was AMAZING! But the service at Pullman was non-existent, they would not have their servers serve any drinks to the guests in the lobby. You'd always have to get up to the bar and get a drink. Many employees would straight up say no if you asked for a certain drink, or say they no longer have it in stock. But when we'd go to the bar ourselves they'd have that drink in stock. So the service was very poor at this resort, we were not able to get beach towels for the first 3 days of our st [... read more]ay. There were a few days when they turned off the water in the entire resort for a few hours, which was very inconvenient when you don't have working toilets in the hotel room. Food was subpar as well, we didn't starve but I've experienced better food at different Cuba resorts. There are better resorts elsewhere within Cuba, I do not recommend this one.
