Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Not quite as enthused as I once was.

We have been going to Club Amigo for quite a few years and I'm afraid as a senior couple with mobility issues we may not return.We found the resort is just to big for us.I exhausted myself getting around this year. I felt sorry for the dining room staff as I'm sure they were doing the best they could with what they had but there were were shortages. No potatoes or fresh orange juice, no buns at the snack bar for hamburgers. The food was even more bland than usual. Also it was very evident that t [... read more]he resort is catering more to locals. The street parties they hold on Guardalavaca Boulevard are very loud. The entertainment was really good this year and they had a couple of great bands. The biggest thing though is the flight times from Halifax which are very poor.You don't get to the resort until around 11:30 at night if you are lucky and returning you don't arrive at Halifax until 4:00 in the morning.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Fair resort

We arrived to the older and dated rooms but upgraded to the newer section which were much quieter and worth the few extra dollars.Food left alot to be desired in the main dining areas but this is Cuba. Grounds were pleasant.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: We would go back to this resort!!

This resort was great. The food was great at Benny More restaurant. We ate a sit down breakfast and lunch there every day. The wait staff there was amazing!! The rooms were neat and clean with a great ocean view (Villa). We really enjoyed the 24 Hour Pool Bar. Always had hot snacks available. Beaches are beautiful!! Chairs were always easy to find. The only complaints we have are: 1) people reserve beach chairs first thing in the morning, then don't come to use them until [... read more] 3PM or later 2) money was taken from 2 sets of luggage in one of our rooms 3) front desk refused to send a golf cart when we were checking out early in the morning (our Villa was the furthest one from the lobby) 4) a lot of local Cuban people use this resort (most of them were friendly). 5) safes are not included with the room charge (Varadero rooms give you a safe to use for free)

resort is in deep declining for several years, in everything - but prices which are rising... only people that have been there before will know what I am talking about? + my "Antique" BOX TV was stolen from some museum and did not have a remote :-) + LA NINA Bar at the Lobby, according to their own admition, has only 4 glasses & 9 porcelain cups (for Cappuccino) - so PLASTIC is the King :-) + "24 hours" Snack Bar does NOT have the food 24 hours + in one wing of the hotel, noise from outside is  [... read more]unbearable - always almost till midnight + Show Programs are not every night, but nothing is advertised and you don't know about it + LaPinta AQUA Bar (lost the name) does NOT have beer, nor the other one in the pool at Bungalows + you CAN NOT go on internet (like before) if you didn't bring your device (cell phone is NOT a proper thing to use for that - I need a COMPUTER, and that service is shut down... list is tooo long... BUT, some things are VERY GOOD and it is difficult to spoil them: BEACH is 11 starz, and PEOPLE are GREAT !!!

Playa Costa Verde: Great resort with amazing beach

Staff were great. Food was allright. Beach was amazing nice clear blue water with a reef making it great for snorkeling I was busy for hours. The rooms are very outdated and shower/tub is hard to get in and out of.

Playa Costa Verde: Lovely resort and staff!

From the time we arrived to the time we left our experience at this resort was great. Rooms were very clean, lots of variety at the buffet, beach was fantastic (bring water shoes....a little rocky in some places) and the staff were awesome. Wifi was a little hit and miss but I didn't travel there to stay "connected" for long periods. Reception seating could use some updating but for the amount of time it was needed, it was fine. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort, great staff.

Great resort and fantastic staff.Lots of activities on the beach with the sailing kayaking...etc. Be careful as you enter the water on the beach lots of rocky spots that one can get bruised,scraped or cut easily. I suggest you wear a beach insert on the feet. Food is good drinks are even better. Make sure you make reservations for the a la carte restaurants. We were told we don't need them but after a few days in we were told that we had to have one .

Playa Pesquero: Amazing resort!!

The only criticism I have is to work on the service at the Mediterranean a lactate restaurant. The pool bar was amazing and the service at the beach was surprisingly fast and the guys that setup the sail boats and peddle boats were great.

Playa Pesquero: a very bright, friendly and welcoming resort

I enjoyed my stay here very much; all staff members were very friendly and helpful and made you feel welcomed & our housekeeping lady was an absolute doll (& all airline staff were wonderful too); the resort was very lovely and the grounds were well kept & the pool & beach was a great place to relax; the food was good but because there was such a huge selection I found it a little overwhelming and the line-ups long & slow but other than that I had a great time & hopefully will be able to visit  [... read more]again & Thank you

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Fantastic Vacation

We just returned from Club Amigo and I must say, Cuba is in a very bad spot these days but despite all that, we had amazing service. We had A/C in our room for sleeping, we had cold drinks and we had sun! What more could we ask for! The food is very rationed but they did their best to accommodate everyone, we certainly didn’t starve and the à la Carte restaurants were definitely worth booking. We don’t go to Cuba for the amenities and because of that, we had a wonderful week.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great as always

Seventh time back to Brisas. The grounds are kept clean and the selection of restaurants and bars is more than you ask for. The staff is polite and will make sure they make your stay very pleasant. The beach is clean with lots of shade if you don't want to be burned all the time. There are places to snorkel and locals to facilitate that for a small fee. Horseback riding just outside of the hotel if you wish to go for a ride along the beach. The market is just walks away if you want to buy some l [... read more]ocal souvenirs. All in all fantastic place. Will recommend and will return next year.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Fantastic stay!

Coral level is well worth it! Private a la carte restaurant with good variety of food, pool (pool bar), and outdoor bar all in very close proximity but also access to all resort amenities (main resort is a bit of a walk but I think resort is completely accessible with many ramps on site). Coral is away from the rowdiness of main pool area and very quiet and serene. Service by all staff at Coral was exceptional. You are assigned "butlers" who help with anything that may be problematic. They went  [... read more]above and beyond when needed. Stunning beach at man made Bay for all resort guests. Ideal for wading or if traveling with children as is shallow. Snorkeling opportunities on site. 10 minute walk or drive (drivers available on resort) to larger beach with water activities, windsurfing, kayaking etc. Food was plentiful and fresh, chicken, beef, seafood, fish, cheese all available. Fresh fruit and vegetables available but limited (our visit was late Feb). Some meals exceeded expectations. No real complaints. Keep expectations re: food low and you won't be disappointed. This IS a country where food is rationed for its residents. I am very sensitive to changes in water and food when I travel and I did not get sick at all. I highly recommend a visit to this resort if you are looking for some R & R and time in the sun.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice Cuban Resort

Amazing Staff and Service, it look like a former 5* hôtel getting old but very acceptable. Room was OK and clean. Beach was nice little sea weeds et somes rocks but very acceptable. Breakfast and desert was awesome lunch and diner was acceptable. Excellent choice for the price, very satisfied. Thank you Bill !

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Nice resort

Loved our room we had a wheelchair accessible room it was in a great location close to the buffet. There was a few things I was not happy about I had to pay 100 Canadian to rent a wheelchair because they only had 1 and it was out. All the walkways are all very rough I had a cast on so I had to literally hold my leg up because the bumping hurt my foot. The food was great, the staff was very friendly and could understand and speak English very well. If you love the beach the water in front is all coral so you need water shoes or walk down the beach a piece to swim. Great snorkeling at this beach Unfortunately I didn’t get to. There ladders into the pool are into the water like the start of the Ladder is not on dry cement one was missing completely. It was a nice resort. It is on a cliff the view was beautiful

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Iberostar Holguin Coral Level

This resort is beautiful as it is not even 2 years old yet. Pool area and service was wonderful If you are looking for rest relaxation and pretty much nothing to do this is the place Everyone over 40 and mostly couples but I went to do nothing You are 1.5 hours from Holguin and 30 minutes from Guardelavacca

To start off our sunwing rep was not responsive to our phone calls or messages. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The beach was nice, and the pool was well maintained. However the noise was unbearable to the level that it sounded like the band was playing in our room, sometimes till 3am... the food was bland and repetitive. Don Lino Hotel: Always nice place and people to see there

Relaxing place to visit and will go again. Always new adventures and local areas to visit. Quaint friendly people both on and off the resort. Villages in the area are easy to get to and explore how the real Cubans live.

Playa Pesquero: Good resort

We visited the resort last year, liked it, came again, and just returned home. Beautiful beaches and Cuban people like we are used to seeing. The hotel was never five stars, but it is good. Food has deteriorated in diversity and quality from last year. Was the hotel worth the price? I cannot tell. I guess the best benefit you get by paying more is the absence of annoying loud drunk Canadian and sometimes Cuban tourists who do not go there because it is expensive.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort

This resort was truly beautiful. We had an ocean view bungalow with an out door shower which was so unique and totally cool. The ocean was great for snorkeling, saw a lot of pretty fish. The staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. The food was really good with lots of options at the buffet. The entertainment staff were always on the go with games and dance lessons, always a lot to do. The really amazing thing was there was always beach and or pool chairs available and any given time of [... read more] the day. Lots of friendly people to hang out with over a drink and a chat. The shows at night were also very entertaining. Would we go back to this resort...in a minute.
