Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Very good resort

This resort was wonderful with good food, great beach and great service. The only issue we had was the smell of sewage time to time which I hope will be rectified soon as this place has such potential to be one of the best resorts on this strip of Varadero beach.

Club Kawama: a very dated resort but right on the beach

the grounds were very clean, the hotel loby was very dirty! the staff not that friendly the food was Cuban food and canadien and as always was very good, this was my second time to kawama, the second time I must say was better than the first time.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great Stay!

We stayed at this resort March Break Break 2013. This was our first trip to Cuba and we were pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. The rooms were clean and spacious but in need of some updating and are in the process of doing so as we were told. Although people complain about the food in Cuba, we food everything to be decent. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the selection of fresh fruit. The beach was absolutely beautiful... The shows at night we found to be not quite what they should be, but there was good music and entertainment in the main lobby area that made up for it. Overall I would recommend this resort to anyone and would go back.

Grand Memories Varadero: Nice resort

We stayed at this resort in March 2014, upon arriving we were enjoying the quiet, great beaches, good food, and after 2 days, all he'll broke lose. Over 400 students from Notre Dame University arrived. We continued to stay for another couple days hoping the crowd would settle in. Well it got worse, they took over the swim up pool area, were urinating everywhere, getting sick in the bushes, and showing rude behaviour. Thankfully we got moved to another hotel on the Wednesday. Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful adults only resort

We really liked Breezes Jibacoa. It is likely the best snorkelling in Cuba from the beach. A large reef is off shore a short distance; it provides snorkellers wonderful marine life without having to take a snorkelling excursion. The staff are excellent at the hotel. we enjoyed the food, especially the Italian a la carte restaurant. Being only 50 minutes from Havana is another real plus. One suggestion we have for the hotel is allowing guests to stay in their room until 3:00 p.m. on check-out day [... read more] when they have an evening flight from Varadero. We had to pay 30 CUC to stay until 3:30 p.m. in our room on our last day. Paying this allowed us to snorkel in the morning and stay in our room until 3:30 p.m.. We would like to see this feature included in the price of the package. This was our second trip to Breezes Jibacoa and we plan to return next year.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great escape

The hotel rooms were large and very accommodating. The hotels grounds were layed out well with the Lobby Bar and pools central to everything. It was a bit of a walk to the beach, but once there there was no reason to leave since there was a bar, grill and washrooms right there.

Starfish Jibacoa: Quiet Paradise

A Small resort in farm country. Very quiet and relaxing. Not for those looking for the night life and party. Very Lush and tropical grounds with beautiful flora. Great snorkeling and scuba diving on coral reef. Amazing staff!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great choice for Cuba

Best food I've had in Cuba. Also the coffee bar was fantastic (like a Starbucks). Piano bar was so much fun. Staff was great. Rooms are good but def can hear noise of other guests Beach is long and beautiful and more then enough lounge chairs and palapas to go around no matter what time u hit the beach

Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful Cuban resort

Was very pleasantly surprised by Breezes Jibacoa. Gorgeous beach, lovely grounds, good food, super friendly staff. The rooms were a bit basic, but comfy, reasonably clean and had everything we needed. Excellent facilities and programmes with great music. The sea was a bit too rough while we were there so could not take advantage of all the great watersport equipment there. Close enough to Havana for an easy day trip. Would definitely go again.

Starfish Varadero: Good for the Price

Our family had a great time, we stayed at the Bungalow and it was very nice..very spacious...our maid was always there on time to clean as well. It does need a little updating....but we were there for the beach which again was very clean...lots of chairs around as well, easy to get around as its not too much walking, compared to Memories Varadero...we would go back ! Lovely Staff as well!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: amazing resort and staff

The overall surrounding of the hotel is very clean, the kitchen staff were really nice and friendly. Good food!!! The shows at night are very enjoyable, and the beach is spectacular. Way to go Melia Peninsula

Sol Varadero Beach: Beautiful Resort and wonderful people

Rooms were great/ dining was good /love the beach and all the assistance we received there...everything was awesome , there was always a surprise in our room upon return. Made alot of friends and saw some old ones .It's like going home when we get there.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Loved it!

We went for our 25th anniversary, and we had the best time. The staff was great, food was great. We loved the attention to detail. There were some minor repairs happening while we were there, but they did not detract from our stay. We will definitely be returning to see the improvements they were working on.

Brisas Del Caribe: So..so resort

Staff are GREAT ....food not much choice. Run down surroundings, no light at night , hallways too dark and rooms. Swimming pool dirty , security is great, cleaning ladies are very helpful . Snack bar staff are awesome .

Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointment

Food was horrible and was the same thing the entire week Out of our group of 6, 3 ended up violently ill and ended up needing medical attention. Doctors said it was from either salmonella poisoning or rotten food. At the meat cooking stations they touched the raw meat before giving you your cooked meet with the same utensils. A la carts were worth than the buffet and we were only allowed 2 for the entire week. Beach was ok, no excitement Overall, very dissapointed. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Relaxing Getaway!

We had a wonderful week at the Royal Hicacas Resort. We are happy to say that nothing was missing during our one week stay. We were pre-warned that we should bring certain items that the resort would not supply but chose not to weigh down our suitcase and we were pleasantly surprised....they had it all!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Resort for all ages

hotel room is clean. all the staff is very helpful. we could let our 3 yr old kid stayed at the kid's club and enjoy our drinks at the pool area. the hotel has 5 pools so that the pool is not crowded up.

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: We had wonderful time

Our room was clean and very quiet with balcon just what we liked it. Intertaitmrnt everyday very nicly done and food was also good. However we did have problem with the magnetic cads to open door to our room. Thay replaised magnetic card several times but we vere still having problems. Repairmen had to come and repairer the lock. Other then that we had a good time.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Pretty much what you expect in Cuba

Resort was pretty much standard Cuban experience. A bit dated but we don't go for the rooms. The main frustrating thing for me was having a hot shower...hit and miss no matter what time you tried. Beach is very large and lots of chairs so you don't have to be reserving which was nice. Food was fine - Cuban cuisine 101...you won't go hungry but don't expect a 4 or 5 star meal. It really is too bad that management would not address some of the infrastructure things at the hotel (hot water for exam [... read more]ple, towel availability) as this place has the potential to be more. Having said all of this, we go for the sun and there was plenty so all is well.

Blau Varadero: Excellent Resort for a great Vacation

My husband and I have vacationed at the Blau Varadero for the last 6 to 7 years. we are often joint by family and friends as well.The resort is clean and beautiful, and nicely laid out. The staff is just superlative and very friendly. The food is always good with a variety for many tastes.We'll certainlly will be back and can recommend it to others. Valerie Holst
