Melia Las Antillas: Disappointing

I was very disappointed in this hotel. It was not clean, my bed smelt like mould, our room door didn't lock even after having it fixed twice, food was awful(but it is Cuba and to be expected). They wanted to charge is $50 for leaving a towel by the pool that they said was lost but told me they had found three others that were left behind the night before. I would not return to this hotel and would never recommend it to my friends.

Resonance Blu Varadero: truly amazing resort

I loved this resort I had a wonderful time the people were so friendly and the grounds are beautiful. First time to Cuba and it was great. The ocean as a sight to see so crystal clear. Me and my best friend went swimming with the dolphins and had an experience of a lifetime. Definitely recommend this resort I miss Cuba.

Melia Las Antillas: Great Value

The resort is well maintained and the staff we're very friendly. The beach was beautiful and one of the best we've been to. Our room had a wonderful view and was very clean. We really enjoyed our trip into town on the open air bus.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Holiday

Hotel was very nice. Original room we were given was awful but we were put in a newer section after speaking with staff and that room was lovely. This was our first time to Cuba. The beach was amazing staff friendly and food was fine for us. We would go back again.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: “Great resort with a few suggestions to improve”

We Stayed here the second week in April , Weather was great , We booked via sunwing from yyz with no issues there or back.Arriving at the airport you are greeted by the hotel staff and shipped off to the resort direct on a smaller bus which was a nice change rather than having several stops along the way.At the airport you are given your room number already and they tag your luggage to your room number which is another nice touch so when you get off the bus its a simple matter of checking in whi [... read more]ch was quick and easy.Once we got to our room we there was two beds put together with no bedding on it so we asked to be switched as we requested a king bed not two put together.Problem was taken care of very quickly and we switched rooms on the ground level.This resort is mid size not a mass people resort.We did have a problem getting a chair on the beach two times as the resort was full.Recommend to get there before 9am to get a chair and keep your towel on it for the entire day that's the only way.The beach was very nice but a bit of a distance from the palpas to the water(Wide beach).I was interested in the free scuba lessons however i opted out when i saw 5 people sharing the same regulator to learn from as i didn't want to give my girlfriend a gift that keeps on giving.Its a nice touch to include this however health concerns need to be addressed in someway for nobody to get sick as that is just wrong and people thought nothing of this. The main pool was great.Service in all aspects of this resort was top notch ,entertainment was good.Drinks very good choices.Food was good however the food at the heating stations was cold at several meal times (mainly breakfast) this needs to be fixed and checked by management.Rooms are nice and quiet with balconies that are private.Internet only in the lobby with purchase of a wifi card which was good.There was some construction going on and cleaning up at the time.I used the gym twice and managed to bang out two basic workouts but the gym needs to be updated as a lot of equipment was not possible to use mainly weights .Big changes for this resort coming as we saw on the lobby tv. Overall i rate this resort a 4 1/2 star.Would i return yes i would as we did have a good time this hotel

Hotel Tuxpan: Beautiful property, nice stay overall

Very nice natural setting, we enjoyed the vegetation and the shade, the beach, the new alleys and the architecture and the terraces. Our room was not one of the renovated ones, so it was just OK. A/C in good working order and a must to compensate for humidity inside. Corner units must be fabulous. Very good entertainment. Hotel was not noisy. Food not that great in terms of variety and quantity, although we liked the soups. Walking on the beach to Varadero a plus. Playa Caleta: Best resort on this side of the 4star and under

Well we spent hours researching reviews on where to stay for cheap- obviously a five star would b great but we didn't want to spend that much $$$ After reading many many reviews we agreed on this hotel and when we got there and saw the others we were looking at online we were soooooop happy Honestly the best one on that side of the beach We kept saying how lucky we were to pick this hotel and a lot of the others were dumps or they looked ok and were wayyyy too quiet Spent a lot of time by the po [... read more]ol bar And the beach bar(which served the best pizzas) The buffet was good- but it is Cuba so don't expect anything too spectacular there The room was good- nothing overly wonderful but great for the price you are paying - and we weren't in the room much anyways I Definately Recommend to anyone :)

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Definitly not any more than a two star resort.

1. The resort was on the lowest part of the peninsula, so the mosquitos and no-see-ums were terrible. 2. When we arrived they put our luggage in a hallway and said it would be safe there, when we came back to collect it our comfort kits, given to us by Canjet, were gone. 3. We waited 20 minutes in a lineup for breakfast one morning, then another 15 minutes for dishes, and the food was always cold because the plates weren't heated. 4. They kept running out of towels for the pool. 5. Half of the w [... read more]ashrooms in the public areas didn't have toilet seats or had no tissue. 6. The drinks weren't uniform from one bar to the next and they kept running out of ice and straws. 7. Dirty dishes were left on the second floor of our unit for a week, we watched a worker sweep around them, they were removed after I showed a picture of them to the front desk. 8.Only two of the stage shows were worth watching, the one in the pool you couldn't see because of the lighting. The best part of our trip was Canjet airlines, we paid extra for VIP treatment as we always do, and it was the best we've had. The trips into Havana and Varadaro were also excellent. The workers at the resort always did their best to accommodate us considering their limited resources, so we blame management for any problems we encountered.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort

Interesting week at Melia. Both my boyfriend and I got sick. Not sure of what cant blame the resort. Everyone was so friendly! Beach was nice so were the pools! Food was okay. We took the trip to Havana it was amazing. Probably shouldnt eat pork. Might of got sick because of it. But overall clean and nice resort!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Good resort

Resort was good, but just good. We arrived in the morning around 11, but we couldn't get the room until 3pm, the staffs there were friendly enough to keep our luggage in a locked room so we can be off doing whatever. There are 24 hr drinks bars in the resort's lobby, but it's not smoke free area, and during the day it's packed with people. For nonsmokers like myself it's more than enough to turn me away from there. The room was clean and nicely ACed, but my "oceanview" room, gets barely a sidewa [... read more]ys glimpse of the ocean. I think you gotta pay for the Diamond suits to get the full on view. Otherwise don't bother. There's a good selection of buffet food there, but most of them are bland and tasteless. At least I didn't get sick from them.

Blau Varadero: pretty good time

room service was excellent, food was pretty good, resort itself was very nice. employee's were very helpful and went out of their way to help with our needs. good of used more activities like the archery and darts.

Paradisus Varadero: Great Resort Great Time

Very well kept resort,quiet, lots to do,perfect location, great staff very welcoming and helpful!Will recomend to friends and family. Would go back again anytime. Also great service from Sunwing Airlines and their staff!

Sol Varadero Beach: Excellent resort

I have been to this hotel 3 times and will return again. The hotel is ideally situated on a section of beautiful beach, although not a new hotel, the rooms are quite nice and offer everything you need. Service is great and food is good.

Hotel Bella Costa: Good resort!

Friendly staff,good variety of food,room as expected.Small problems fixed immediately.Beautiful beach with lots of good snorkelling.We enjoyed many hours under the trees by the ocean reading which was very relaxing.We had an excellent time.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great resort!

Very clean, safe, friendly atmosphere. The lay out of the resort made it very easy to get around and the grounds were very well maintained. Very easy to access local transit and many excursions. Can't wait to go back next year.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very nice family resort

There was Friendly staff who were very good with children. The rooms were kept very clean and were modern. The resort had great service. Unlike some places in Cuba the food was very good. I would go back - especially with family.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: To me it did not qualify as a 5 star Resort

The rooms were fine, the staff very friendly and helpful, the grounds well taken care of, but the toilets in the ladies facilities in at least 3 different places had no toilet seats. To me that is disgusting. Even after I complained about it, nothing was done. The men's washrooms were all fine, according to my husband. I personally would not ever go there again, and I would not recommended it to any one. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Excellent vacation at Paradisus Princesa Del Mar !

We had an amazing vacation at the Paradisus Princesa Del Mar. The service was impeccable, we were treated like gold by everyone especially Pablo and Juan. We initially went with lower expectations of food based on what friends who had visited other resorts in Cuba had told us, but this resort completely exceeded our expectations !!!! The food was amazing, especially the black and white night it was truly 5 star food !!! The Japanese restaurant is a must, great show, great food !!! All in all this was a great vacation and we will definitely go back !!!!

Brisas Del Caribe: Average

We liked the grounds and the pools, they were really nice, the rooms were clean. But the rooms had problems with the water preasure and also there was no hot water at times. As for the food, let's just say I was expecting better.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Heavenly Getaway

My wife and I had the best time in a long time and to finally be able to take a trip it was a great relief to get our moneys worth for a change. The staff and service was awesome. The grounds very clean and the atmosphere was friendly. I want to come back cant wait to hit that cave bar and pools. Ocean was refreshing and beaches clean. If you haven't been I highly recommend you don't put it off.
