VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Disappointed vacation

Pros- Small resort, all facilities were close, clean rooms. Cons- Very poor reception desk, we had to fight to get anything that we needed such as facecloth, rooms on ground level and rooms near our friends, no beer in bottles and no service for room fridge. We would have had employee at front desk fired if possible by the name of Gilberto , we had several very bad run in's with him and as a result will not return there and we will be telling other people to stay away, they forget that w [... read more]e are guests and spending hard earned money for a vacation and do not need unnecessary harassment from an asshole like him. Very disappointed with the quality of drinks and the beer was draft on tap everywhere , 3star at best. Poor tv almost all Spanish , only internet in lobby , poor snorkelling in front of resort and too many pushy sales people , !

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful Resort

The resort was lovely. Mature vegetation with beautiful orchids in numerous locations on the grounds. Pool was well maintained. Personnel was constantly cleaning & tiding up the resort. Many items of different foods to choose from. Love that the resort was not huge. The layout was well thought out. Had rain late in the afternoon a couple days but were able to walk to main building without getting wet. View of the mountains in the distance adds to its charm. Staff is wonderful!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing resort!

It was a great first experience! Simply breathtaking! The agent was amazing...people at resort were amazing! Very memorable trip in deed! I would highly recommend this resort in fact I am every time someone asks about the trip! We will consider going back with the family as many as possible...my niece is looking for a wedding venue so it's a good possibility that this is the resort!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful Family Vacation

The entertainment team was exceptional, something for everyone. The facilities were nice and clean, big and bright. Pool was great, everyone was friendly, great service. We met so many people who this was their 5th time going there, so that speaks volumes. Definitely would go back!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Resort

We arrived at the resort during a severe rain storm, well over 100 mm of rain. Our first day of our vacation had thunder showers most of the day and evening. The next morning the entrance to the resort, the lobby, the main pool and area, and some of the rooms were flooded with up to 6-8 inches of water. Our room was fine since we had a second floor room. By noon time the staff had the water problem cleaned up in most of the areas although the main pool was still contaminated with surface water. [... read more] The whole situation was a shock to some of the workers who I am sure had their own homes flooded out as well because some seemed to be over whelmed. The beach also took a lot of abuse from the rain. The mud and silt was from the shore out about 80 - 100 ft and the beach was full of sea grass trees and garbage. This problem was also addressed right away although it took almost the entire week to get the mess cleaned up due the lack of equipment. I was very impressed how they handled the whole situation in a timely and organized manner. With that being said the food was great,and there was always bottles of water , beer and pop replenished daily in our mini bar . We even got two bags of chips every day which was an unexpected treat. The rooms were clean and the bed sheets changed every two days. Although I don't go on vacation to watch tv not one of the 54 channels were English speaking. I really liked the lay out of this resort the way everything was close by and not having to walk too far for anything. I would give this resort a 4 out of 5 stars Todd Over all

Riu Merengue: Amazing Resort !!!!!

The staff was very friendly ,very good service and fast,food was great ..the grounds were very well kept,the rooms were done every day and very clean..we got there right after they had lots of rain and big winds , it kind of put a damper on the beach but all in all the next 5 days it was better ,we have no control over nature...Its a big Resort ,no problem for restaurant and bars ,everything was very close ,beach also ,great pool,we met a couple it was there 18 time there and would not change , [... read more]they said they've been to many other Resorts and they made this one there regular place..We would go back there no problem...

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Nice Resort...

We stayed at this resort for a week at the end of March 2017. If you have small children I would suggest early check in if they offer it. Check in is 3pm or when they get to you. The hotel itself is nice. Close to the airport. Our room was near to the pool, entertainment area and front entrance. The town of Sosua is right outside and about a 10min walk to the public beach. Also a small bottle of rum. Housekeeping was very slow. Towels were removed early in the day and not restocked until around dinner time when the rooms were made up. Not once did we have a surprise animal made from towels on our beds. (grand daughter was very sad about this) Food was more flavorful than Cuba. But at times over done. I would not suggest ordering cannelloni at the Italian a la carte. It was the frozen kind and not hot all the way through. There is 2 buffet restaurants. 3 a la carte choices. We were told the seafood one wasn't great but the Mexican was very good. There is no swim up bar at all which we kind of missed. Entertainment staff was good and very active. People no where near as friendly as in Cuba or Jamaica. Front desk girl Hilary was pleasant to deal with as well as Transat rep Felix. AC died out to a very low setting and had maintenance in 2x but the issue wasn't fixed properly. The Medical Center was awesome. (Grand daughter needed doctors care) The insurance we took was billed directly and we were not out of pocket for medications needed. Grounds were kept nicely. 2 beach areas available. We had red flag most of the time due to the storm the week before. People hoard the pool loungers so it's hard to get one. Price wise it was an OK amount. We would return to Cuba most likely before staying here again. Similar pricing. We found it to be quite Americanized and prices reflect this. Expensive to purchase items to bring home. If you're not picky on when your room gets cleaned, having towels and good AC, then I would recommend this resort to you ... It definitely isn't above a 3 star rating in our opinions.. Thanks

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Awesome Resort

Great recreational areas pools and kids club, excellent food and service. Awesome beach... Nice people, good shopping. Close to the airport just 20 min. High recomended for sure we are going to come back!!! Love the Resort

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Nice first time in Punta Cana

Resort met our expectations. Staff was nice and quick to answer. Food was good, lots of choices at every meals but got bored a bit at the end. Beach and pools were awesome. Waiters at the Bambu Bar were the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Occidental Punta Cana: Not a bad little resort!

This was a good choice resort for us because it was our first visit to DR. We were looking for one that wasn't too big and this one fits! Our stay was great...building 26 with room facing ocean was excellent, as was the hot tub on the deck! Grounds were well maintained. Room was clean and spacious. Service was hit and miss, especially in the specialty restaurants. We tried the Mexican, Italian, steakhouse, and seafood restaurants. My favourite was the Mexican. Even though service was hit and miss, we still tipped because the workers at the resort depend on them to supplement their income.We were in the first club section of the resort and had great service at the bar there. Cruz and Pedro provided excellent friendly service! Check in and check out were a breeze. Common areas of the resort were well kept and I always stopped in the main lobby to smell the Lillies. All in all a great little resort!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Closest to Perfection yet!

Let me first start by saying that there are no true 100% perfect experiences. But this resort and its staff have come as close as we think is possible. It's how they handled the unavoidable little problems that happened during our vacation. Nothing remotely serious enough to even list. LOL), and of course Virginia is the “elegant ballerina” who served us when we were not seated at the bar itself. Beach Bar – Abel is the MAN!!! and Jose his faithful sidekick! Restaurants... Diego (Head Chef), Miguel (Food Service Manager) and Alphonso (Maitre D' ) – every night was special because of everyone that was working in the restaurants, but these three people need some accolades for their relentless work at making the eating experiences unforgettable. My friend who was travelling with us is a big fan of lamb... and he was rendered speechless one night (which is really hard to do) by the plate that he was served by Chef William in the Rodizio. Amazing. The Security Team is there ... but usually invisible – just the way I like it – thank you Alphonso! The Animation team as a whole was always ready to make our stay more fun with activities and shows. This hotel treated us like vips all week long provided us with amazing service and the staff was amazing . I also liked that they kept us entertained they got people involed in activites which was really cool

Riu Republica: Over advertised....under delivered...3 star at best

Food.....good....lots of choice for everyone except special diets. Drinks .....poor .....wine is swill...horrid Rooms ......clean and acceptable Service .......good Pools ...... great Ocean......dangerous Oceanside beach, chairs and umbrellas.....OK. but you must have the "special clothes pegs"and stake your territory before 8. No spring breakers....think again. I expect honesty from the travel brochure and marketing.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Probably the best price/quality ratio in Dominicana!

We gave the best ratings to the resort according to 3+**** star hotel as it's positioned. The only thing we would recommend the management to do is to pay attention to cleaning in the places of general use. Floors, Walls, Ceiling, Chandeliers need to be cleaned at least once a month! We really loved everything in the resort for the price we payed! So we wouldn't expect too much from a 3+*** star resort with such an affordable price in Dominican republic. Riu Merengue: Decent Resort

The hotel was decent to stay at. The room was clean but a bit dated. The beds were not very comfortable. The pools and the hotel grounds are nice and clean. The restaurant serving staff and bartenders did an excellent job and were super friendly. The food was decent but I'm not a picky eater. The entertainment at night was ok... Don't think the hotel is spending lots of money on it. The front desk staff were not always accommodating. Overall about a 3.5 star hotel.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing resort

The hotel was super clean. Food amazing. Service A+. This was our first trip to Punta Cana and we must say that this hotel is going to be hard to beat. Sungwing was a bit of a different. Tour bus took forever to get us to the airport amd sunwing almost left us behind because they were having problems with their system.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: awesome resort

I was completely surprised at check in time when they automatically upgraded me to the Diamond Club because I was a repeat guest and in addition to that Oliver mgr again upgraded and gave me complimentary privileges for the week to the hydro therapy spa which was a completely amazing experience that I truly needed and enjoyed. This is my second stay and I will return again, I have no complaints about this hotel, all is good. They provide you with all of your bath necessities, body & hair wash, conditioner and body lotion that is fantastic. All requests that I had were taken care of within minutes a truly relaxing vacation. I would and already have recommend this hotel to everyone.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing memories!!

The hotel was great, the food was amazing, the entertainment was different and one of the reasons why I love this place... wasn't your regular Micheal Jackson show. The crazy games everyday at the pool was awesome!! Did not have a bad day.
