Dreams La Romana: What's not to like?

came back a second time and like the first, all around pure happiness. Weather is always good, grounds are immaculate, rooms awesome and food fantastic. Staff are the best even though it was pretty busy this time still could always get loungers either on beach or by pools. A la cart restaurants never have to make reservations and again even as busy as it was could always get a table. Love this place.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Excellent vacation!

Beautiful resort, great staff, great food, rooms a bit dated but still very clean, beautiful beach and pools - no complaints whatsoever other than a bit of rain but rain is better than snow - would go back in a heartbeat!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Awesome Resort

We loved the Chic hotel, only had a few down falls but would not stop us from booking there again. We found the spa to be overly expensive, room service food not that great and the restaurant food was great but the service was a little slow. The beach was beautiful the hotel was small but very nice.The staff was awesome, rooms near the pool is very noisy, so if looking for a nap good luck. The back rooms are nice and quiet. Awesome resort will likely book there again.

Occidental Caribe: Great Resort

The resort was great, people were nice. The rooms were very outdated and could be freshened up a bit. Loved that all the building were connected. Buffet food could be better but restaurant food was amazing.

Surprise Escapes: Beautiful sandy beach

Resort small but very beautiful,,, grounds are stunning very clean, rooms are wells taking care of. Staff is very professional and kind.... Food was good.. My only complaint would be the contamination of food,,, lots off sharing utensils at buffet, example salad bar offered many different types of salads from seafood food salad to potatoes salad and only one utensils to pick up salads. Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Nice resort

Rooms could use alittle upgrade. A couple of days had no towels in bathroom. More servers around the pool area. Lack of mats(loungers) in the pool. More huts at the beach for shade. Loved the grill and idea of no reservations for restaurants. Workers very friendly.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort !!

This resort was well kept, all the staff were super friendly and always trying to make the best out of your stay, there was different activities going on each day. I Definitely recommend this resort and will be returning

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Amazing Resort and Great People!!!

This hotel had amazing staff and grounds. It is definatly a 5 star resort with all the ammenities. The rooms were super clean and 24 hr room service is another plus. A well needed getaway and super appreciative. Thank you tripcentral.ca

Occidental Caribe: Not bad

People are nice but the rooms are in need of some updates, food was ok. We often waited for drinks even though we tipped. We tipped everyone including the maids but we never got enough towels for the 4 of us. The towel bar by the pool required several trips a day to actually get towels as they were often out of them

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good for a 3 Star resort!

The room we were originally in, not good... no view, facing a wall. The manager was nice enough to quickly fix the situation... which was a better room. Thank You again! I would suggest if anyone gets this room that they get a discount or a notice ahead of time what you are getting as not to be disappointed. To get a chair pool side reviews were true got to hustle to get one of those babies. lol, we made it work. Umbrellas have to pay $3 dollars to rent that's true. The Staff at the resort were professional :) and friendly. The Animation staff were a fun bunch, very pleasant and professional. The club on the resort is abit small and they should play more Spanish music or Dominican beats as that's why I was there to enjoy Dominican Republic to the fullest. To get a drink at the bars was pretty fast... which was impressive. washrooms where okay. Beds where so comfortable. Food was good. I didn't want to come back home. I wanted to stay in the Dominican. Overall a Nice Vacation Spot!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: An older resort and it shows

We changed rooms twice the night we arrived, and again the first day. The plumbing in the first two rooms were unacceptable and the second room also had a vile odour that made breathing very difficult. The third move was ok but certainly nothing we were led to believe we were paying for. The paint and plaster were pealing, the finish on the bathroom mirrors was coming off. The second room had dried up old toothpaste hanging under the shelf and toilet seats were offset and toilet didn't stop runn [... read more]ing. There were jacuzzis in each room that was nice but the bathrobes looked like something you would find in a hospital to cover your gown. That being said, the restaurants were good, the Rodeo Steak House was exceptional. The staff were ALL very nice and generally spoke decent English.

Riu Merengue: Hotel was good

The part of the hotel we stayed was old. This was very visible. Room safes were very small and we felt unsure using them as they were a key lock. How many keys could there be? there was no fan in the washroom and no hairdryer in the room, had to go to front desk to ask for one. The food was fine and had a selection. The service in the buffet was hit and miss. The bar service was fine. The resort is large and spread out. There could have been a few more washrooms around as you had to search for [... read more] them. The entertainment in the evening was more for the kids in the resort. I have travelled to many destinations and I feel this one was the worse for adult entrainment. Do not feel I will stay in RUI hotel again.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Wonderful experience!

Very clean all around. Food satisfied many different tastes. Beach was beautiful. Staff support was fantastic. Had a brief issue with the room that we had reserved, however it was resolved by the next day. It was appreciated.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Overall Good Resort

The pools were very nice and the beach was phenomenal. Staff very friendly. Their were enough food options that nobody went without and our kids tend to be picky. We weren't overly impressed with the room (Junior Tropical Suite) as the bathroom was small. We would go back again though.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good Resort

Had a good time here. I found that the positives were that the rooms were nice and there were no problems with the maid service. The food at the buffets was good as well, had no problem getting things that I liked. Had 3 a la cartes, Japanese, Italian, and Garden Grill. Food was good at all 3, but the service at the Garden Grill was not great. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and the trolley system was great. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes and they ran late into the night and very [... read more] early in the morning. Another positive was that we were checked in on our bus from the airport and we were taken directly to our rooms when we got there, saved us a lot of time. A couple of negatives were that the beach was very crowded and the sand fleas at the beach and mosquitos when we were outside at the lobbies were horrendous. Most people in our group were covered in bites and we saw many others on the resort covered in bites. Not sure if they do any spraying here, but they should consider it for sure.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Beautiful resort

Lovely newer resort with fabulous staff. Food was amazing. Only criticism is no hot water for the shower in our room. The tub was fine but not the shower. Our room kept having lots of power outages. Beach could have been kept a little cleaner as well. Lots of seaweed. But overall a great place.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: You get what you pay for... in this case not a whole lot

The grounds are beautiful but this resort is quite run down. It lives up to the standard philosophy of the Caribbean where "if it's broken, don't fix it". Right across the resort there are things broken that should be fixed. For example, 4 of 6 water features of the main pool are broken. Not a big deal but shows how much the company actually cares. Food: while good, it's the exact same daily with only very small amounts of authentic dominican food such as tostones, empanadas etc. Entertai [... read more]nment: There are a few pool games and nightly shows. The nightly shows are not even a production crew but simply the animation staff attempting to dance around. They did a good job but overall the show is poor. Every other resort pays for entertainment. There is also not a single live band the entire week ANYWHERE on the resort. Very strange. The disco makes every effort to play music like we have back home. NEWS FLASH, no one pays to go to a latin country to hear music back home. The one night we badgered the dj into playing reggaeton and other latin music was the first night the club was packed and not empty at midnight. Rooms: The first room we had had a view of exactly the back of the wall of another building. The entire view we could see was the very back of the wall, less than 10 feet outside our window. The tub also didn't drain. We finally were able to change rooms and got a beautiful room that over looked the pool. SAME PRICE what the hell! Beach: due to weather there were only 2 days we could swim in the ocean. Not the fault of the resort at all. The jacuzzis are gorgeous. The beaches are the brown sand, not the nice white sand of the north or east side of the island. Nothing special here. Long story short, while this resort is ok if you're paying maybe $750 but if you're paying $850 plus, I highly recommend going somewhere else. Punta cana is far nicer and staff FAR friendlier. Cuba is another amazing alternative and despite was people say, way better food and spectacular entertainment. Overall the resort feels run down, half baked, and poor attempts to make it feel "like home" No one wants like home. We want real dominican republic and real people, real food. This resort I want to like and has potential but unfortunately is a total waste of money and I wish I had my life back to just sit at home in my pajamas. :(

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Awesome resort!

This was our second time being at this resort and we love it!! We had a one bedroom suite which was fantastic! Clean, very spacious, two bathrooms and two balconies. The food is great and the people working hard here even better! We even met workers from three years ago and re-established bonds with them. What we loved about it is it's a quiet resort with its own beach. Never had to fight for a chair on the beach.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Loved the place

Beautiful place. Very impressed with the entire management. All the amenities you could ask for, from well equipped rooms, pool, beach, games, activities, tours, entertainment, restaurants, and shops. Watching the students from the sidelines made for great entertainment.
