Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: As usual absolutely oustanding

Hotel right on the beach, food was just like home, beach was sandy bliss, snorkeling at its best. The staff are always friendly and have a great sense of humour. We had a junior garden suite which has its own hot tub and you can walk to the beach literally in under a minute, fantastic.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Amazing resort

We arrived in the darkness so was hard to get a first impression. Staff at the check in desk were very friendly and professional.Baggage was taken to our quickly so we could change and get a late dinner. Food in all restaurants was very good with many choices. My favourite was the Japanese restaurant where the chef cooked at your table and put on quite a show. Activity staff were excellent in getting guests to participate and have fun. Rooms were lovely and cleaning staff very attentive to thei [... read more]r jobs. Grounds were immaculate and very creative with a jungle setting and natural caves and waterfalls. Spa was very good and hot tub amazing. We walked to local shopping for souvenirs. I celebrated a Birthday while there and they helped me acknowledge it with champagne!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Big does always mean better

Beautiful large resort however because of its size the food was often cold or overcooked. The rooms are nice however it took at least 20 minutes for hot water. The night shows started at 10 pm and were not very entertaining.. The beach was very narrow with lots of rocks and seaweed. Over all I have been to much better places.

Grand Sunset Princess: Mixed feelings

Hôtel set-up is quite nice. Superb pool where we do not have to get up a 6 am to reserve with a towel. Nice gym. Very good evening shows. Food was quite disappointing Everywhere. We had bugs in our room but no hair conditionner, no body lotion and no Kleenex. While making up our luggage to leave, we realized two pullovers were missing. They had not been worn during our 2 week vacation but were needed for our return in -10 weather. My husband had also reported earlier in the week a missing w [... read more]atch. Secrets The Vine Cancun: Beautiful resort

This hotel was stunning. The lobby, the restaurants, the rooms, the pools, everything was so nice. We really enjoyed the friendly staff, who were also quick to help or get you whatever you wanted. Nothing was a problem. The entertainment staff was a joy, especially Valeria. She went out of her way to deliver a fun Valentine's certificate and printed us a few photos that were taken of us on the beach. The food was also delicious with lots of variety. We ate in all the restaurants and can honest [... read more]ly say they were all fabulous. The only critic I would have is there should be a few more inclusive choices for red wine. The two offered as house wines were okay but I would have liked some variety without having to pay for an overpriced bottle of wine.

Emporio Cancun: Emporio Family Suites Cancun - wonderful holiday get-away!

The Emporio Family Suites in Cancun was very clean, grounds well maintained, meals delicious and well prepared, staff very friendly. We asked to be moved from our room as it was NOT what we asked for. Our departure with Sunwing Airlines was chaotic as boarding pass told us the gate to be at, then it was changed and no announcement of that change was made for all the passengers travelling home. We were delayed for one hour, with no explanation. I won't travel with Sunwing again.

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: Our Favorite resort in PVR.

Just returned February 19th after a week in our Favorite resort. This was our 6th time there and was not disappointed. Shauna from Trip Central took care of booking our room and flight with WestJet....all we had to do was go and relax. We always meet people that have been returning 15,16 and up to 19 times to this resort. Why? Best beach in PVR, All Staff and restaurants are awesome. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Lovely resort

Check in was a breeze with the upgraded status - and champagne upon arrival. Unfortunately the room requested with two beds was not given and wouldn't be for two more days and we couldn't be bothered to unpack to pack back up again to unpack so we stayed where we were. South side rooms in block 5 are the place to stay with the swim up rooms and sun. The entire place was spotless, though sometimes the pool seemed a little scummy. The beach area is nothing like the Dominican - quite rocky and dirty (garbage in water) but it was sure nice to be close to and hear the waves crashing. Sunsets and Moons could both be seen. Food was good. I like the resort because it was the quieter of the three chains and you could travel to the other two and be busy and come back to this resort and feel the calm relaxed atmosphere. Staff was friendly.

Riu Flamingos: Extraordinary, beautiful resort

This is the most amazing resort I ever stayed in a long time. Clean, grounds are well kept, food is extraordinary and such a variety of choices. The staff are so welcoming. The activities are well organized. . It was very nice to be able to dine at our convenience without having to make a reservation to eat a la carte. Tripcentral.ca recommended me a very nice resort . We all had such a wonderful trip. Thank you

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort

The resort grounds were stunning, the entertainment first class. Service was slow and minimal understanding of English was a bit frustrating but definitely worth a visit. The beach is great and clean with lots of great kids entertainment.

This resort was very clean and the pools and grounds well kept. There was a variety of entertainment. The staff were always pleasant and friendly. There was a lot of variety in regard to what to do, eat and drink. All the drinks were yummy! It had all the elements to make a great vacation!

Riu Dunamar: Words cannot do it justice.

From the time we walked in to the time we walked out we were treated like friends and greeted with warmness by all. The hotel was spotless. The food was too good. The water park was a lot of fun and never busy so line ups were non-existent. The pools were beautiful and they ranged from party pools to relaxing pools. The beach was amazing and we spent most of our time there. Our room was spacious and our partial oceanview was breathtaking. Our beach waiter Augusto was so nice and made our stay ev [... read more]en more fun. Our waiters were always amazing and a special shout out to Arcadio at the steakhouse restaurant. The night entertainment was fun and the staff were tirelessly energetic and a lot of fun. I have recommended this resort to everyone and we are already planning our return.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Excellent Resort!

We spent February 12-19, 2018 at Paradisus La Perla. We’ve been to many all inclusive resorts and this is by far the best we’ve stayed at. It may have cost a bit more for us than others but it was well worth it. Upon check in, we were given an upgraded room in the Royal Service section. Although we couldn’t use the Royal Services, the room was really nice! There really isn’t much negative to say about La Perla....the service, the staff, the food (everywhere), the decor, the cleanliness,  [... read more]the beach....everything was awesome! We didn’t go to the pool area while there, but we did see that people were placing towels on the chairs early in the day to reserve them. We went to the beach every day rather than the pool....the beach was great, there were waiters there and you could order food from a snack bar as well...nachos, burgers, hot dogs, etc. The one thing I would strongly recommend is that the resort put some signage up warning patrons of rocky areas in the water....we learned quickly where to go in the water where there were no rocks....we spoke to several people who actually sustained injuries from one area that was extremely rocky. Although La Perla is adults only, it does share some restaurants and the entertainment with the kid friendly La Esmeralda resort. If you want quiet at mealtime, I suggest sticking with the adults only restaurants. I did find that some “adults only” sections, like the Gabi lounge had kids at times I felt inappropriate, like at 10 at night, with adults in the bar scene, drinking, dancing and partying. Also the Melia Hotel reps tried to get us to attend an “information session” (time share??) about all their resorts, hotels etc...we have learned our lesson on this type of thing before and it took a few no thank yous, not interested for them to back off. I would highly recommend La Perla....we had an awesome vacation!!

Secrets Huatulco: “Authentic Mexican “ location and a favourite, majority Canadians at resort!

Nice resort. Staff very pleasant, great asset. As a Secrets resort, wifi, no reservation restaurants is important and seller. English speaking main office here, also a relief, and very helpful managements response to our requests, it made our holiday Many Canadian return visitors indicates it’s a great resort. They claim weather is a big factor. Lots of restaurants, great rooms , compliments to house keeping for their great service. Also roomservice reliable. Our only concern was wi [... read more]th pool concierge, they need to handle the longer saving issue. It precedes them with guest reviews, and this perpetuates it’s continuation. They need a reasonable time to hold a lounger and enforce that, with random removals, and react to guest complaints with pool staff presence, non to be seen. Less than. At other resorts , where this was not a problem. Also suggest they not dispense towels after 4 pm, as this allows for early and over nite, even! Saving. This is what other resorts do and don’t seem to have this issue.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Wonderful All-inclusive Resort

Wonderful resort. Well kept rooms and nicely groomed grounds. Nightly entertainment was of high caliber. I especially liked The Tenors when they performed on Sunday nights. Food at the main buffet had quite a varied selection and was very good. A la carte restaurants...some were better than others for food and service. Staff from front desk to servers to cleaning staff to grounds maintenance people were friendly, polite and cheerful. Everyone works very hard to make your stay memorable.

Riu Flamingos: Amazing Resort!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Riu Jalisco from Feb 11-18 and had an amazing time:) The resort is spacious and immaculately cleaned constantly. The Staff in all aspects couldn't be more friendly. We went to the lobby bar every night and Tony and Lucita are the best!! they laugh and joke with everyone and make you feel like family. Our room was a great size and stocked with bottles of alcohol and beer all the time. We had a king size bed and clean linens were done everyday. As far as the on [... read more]ly thing I would recommend is that you bring your own shampoo and conditioner; the shower comes with all in one soap and shampoo. The food was top notch and all al a cartes were great. You don't make reservations as it is first come first serve. We enjoyed the Mexican (ate there twice) and the Japanese (also ate them twice) the best. The buffet was always good and so much variety... We think there is something there for everyone. The beach was awesome and also clean, I had read reviews before we went that the beach is dirty and unclean.... This isn't because of lack of cleaning staff as they are out there all day cleaning up people's dirty cups, cigarette butts and garbage!! these people to me are the problem.. you cant always keep up with 100's of people who wont clean up after themselves when there are garbage cans etc everywhere! We would stay again no doubt!!!

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: great resort

This is a great family relaxing resort. The proximity to the beach is outstanding. The beach is safe and goes for miles. The staff at the resort are friendly and accommodating. The location is great to get around either to the north to Bucerias or south into Puerto Vallarta. Taxis are afforable and the bus is easy to get around on.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Very nice resort

Was very pleased with the service , cleanliness and quality of food ! The only negative was the constant seaweed washing up on the beach but staff did a great job of cleaning up after Mother Nature . Would definitely return to Oceon Corral and Turquesa

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Barely 3 star room, 4 star everything else

Disclaimer: I’m an airline pilot that stays in hotels roughly 16 nights per month The bad: Our room in villa 12, (1204-2) had a broken table lamp, mould in the bathroom/shower/toilet, surface rust on all the metal finishes, broken shower door hinges, and paint splatter on the ground. This is disappointing because the modern decor would be great with some proper upkeep and attention to detail! Think W hotel style room with poor materials and workmanship. After mentionning all of this to  [... read more]our Transat rep on the premises he walked us over the to the front desk and they just said we can’t do a room change, just write down what’s wrong with the room and we will send someone. Nothing was done during the whole 7 day stay and I stopped trying with our transat rep/front desk because they seemed completely unwilling to help. Welcome champagne and fruit plate was not provided as per the transat booking details This resort is very agressive on trying to upsell you at every opportunity. Such as, premium liquor, premium wine, certain dishes cost more, spa services, etc. I already paid for an all inclusive resort, stop pestering me for upsells when I’m trying to relax on vacation. The good: Medium size of resort is great for walkability Lots of neat pools laid out around the villas Patch of jungle with cool wildlife (monkeys, gator, boar) Adult only pool/area is brand new Almost all the food was very good Service at bars and restaurants was very good The taco lady in the mornings is amazing! The rooms in the newer section by the adult pool are very nice! The property itself is kept in very good shape. In conclusion: With some upgrades to the older rooms and better front desk customer service this could truly be a 4-4.5 star hotel. For now it is not.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Excellent resort

The grounds and public areas were well maintained and very clean, the buffet restaurants offered a large variety of choices, our room was clean and comfortable and the staff responded quickly and effectively when we phoned to say we had no hot water in the shower. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The a la carte restaurants gave us an opportunity to try some different menus - we liked all of them. The staff throughout the resort were unfailingly friendly and helpful. There were some ver [... read more]y loud young guests in neighbouring rooms but after complaints from some other guests, security dealt with the issue by encouraging them to party at the 24 hour bar instead of their rooms. From my perspective, this solved the problem. No complaints about this resort at all.
