We recently returned from ten days at Sunset at the Palms and loved it. We were totally impressed by how welcoming and friendly all the staff were with the guests upon our arrival. The "treehouse" accommodations were quaint and very lovely with the layout of the treehouses designed so that your personal balconies were out of sight of the other residences so that you felt that you were alone in the jungle. The short walk across the street to the beach was not a hinderance at all and once you got [... read more]to the beach area it was worth it. A beautiful stretch of uncrowded sand with loads of chairs which were brought to your desired location and then swept off for you, a great beachfront bar area along with spotless washrooms and a great beach grill made the day amazing. The pool area was intimate and very under-used during our stay with a swim up bar and hot-tub along with access to more spotless washrooms. The food was very simple but good, not the type of place if you are a "foodie" to be sure, and with the COVID protocol of all food placed on the plates for you by staff it actually made the small lines at the buffet far more relaxing and orderly. There were ample hand sanitizing stations located around the resort and staff were wearing masks when they were in close contact with the guests as well as spacing markings on the floor in the food areas. The resort was exactly what we were hoping for in that it was a very quiet, relaxing, adults only boutique style resort that allowed us to totally unwind.
We enjoyed our week @ Jewel Pardise Cove. The beach is small but always loungers available. The loungers were sanitized every day. The cove was always safe to swim even on red flag days. The food was very good, limited food options with servers handling plate/ food only for covid safety. Rooms were very nice and clean. We had a pool view room / with the best maid ever Evette thank you for making our vacation wonderful. The Platinium Restaurant had great steak and ribs and a shout out to Alistair f[... read more]or the best service. The entertainment was very good. The Sunset Bar was our favorite evening spot. The Staff make this resort wonderful. The lay out of the resort makes it easy to get around and the grounds are beautiful.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: I'm sure it was lovely
Well unfortunately I tested positive two days before I was supposed to go I never made it to the hotel. Even though we purchased cancelation and covid insurance we still are out the money for the entire trip. Air Transat refused to help us with anything and Trip Central couldn't help either. Very disappointing

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: Not what I expected
I will try to be as fair as I can with this review
Pros:
pool side entertainment were very friendly and great to interact with.
Poolside service was always great
Grounds very clean
Food was very good
Cons:
not a “true†adults only when adults from the ziva can come over too
4 of 6 restaurants were on the family side, which meant children at those dinners
Our bed was not a king as booked - they tried to tell me it was but we’ve stayed at 6 adults only resorts in Jamaica and a[... read more]lways had a king bed
No buffet on adult side
Evening entertainment was lacking
For us, we expected to go to the family side only by choice not in order to enjoy most of the amenities
We made the most of it and enjoyed ourselves but, if you’re expecting an adults only hotel this is not the one for you

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Would not come again
My husband and I went to this hotel from the 7th-11th of April. The good things about the hotel are 1) They have a drink menu with some awesome drinks 2)Entertainment Crew was great 3)The beach is absolutely beautiful 4) Pool is very nice 5) Resort is clean 6) Food is great and nice variety 7) Love the Coffee Bar above the lobby. Now to the negative parts and reasons why I would not return here. From when we landed we expected to have a shuttle to the hotel and did not, even though upon booking [... read more]it said transportation to hotel was included. We ended up having to pay for a taxi. When we asked the hotel they said I would need to call tripcentreal for reimbursement. Then at the hotel gate they could not find our booking. Later at the front desk they managed to find us. My husband and I love to play sports, and this resort does not have a soccer field, tennis court, or volleyball court. They do have a basketball court for which they don't have balls for (but they sell them at the store...?) and they installed a badminton net at volleyball net height (also no volleyball even if you wanted to make due). The attitude from the majority of the workers here was poor and unfriendly. I do want to shout out to Arlando, Shamoya and Tameka who made our stay so much more enjoyable, they honestly went above and beyond. In our room the fan made so much noise that we thought it was going to fall on us so we turned it off right away after turning it on. I also think the AC thermostat did not work because if we turned it on it would get way too cold. So most of the time we had it off. The stocked fridge included 2 waters, 2 beers and 2 cokes which were not always all replaced. We didn't get to book the restaurant AT ALL because they only took same day bookings and by 7:40am it was booked up. I found this unfair, everyone should be able to enjoy one day at the restaurant. The snack bar almost NEVER had jerk chicken, and the one time my husband got upset they called us back and a plate magically appeared. My husband and I were really looking forward to a massage on the beach, but they were not offering any spa services. Instead they directed us across the street, which we did not go. We also won two games and when we went to claim the prizes the day we left they gave both of us one small bottle to share, when they were handing out 9 bottles on the beach for peoples birthdays the day before. They offered us the bottle of champagne INSTEAD of the small bottle of rum. Not a place for kids, this resort is for older people that want to lay on the beach or around the pool all day. I have stayed at RIU Ocho Rios before and I would have preferred to pay the extra $300 and have an amazing stay. Looking at going back later this year with our kids to Beaches Boscobel, Ocho Rios. We also wasted $80 on the rapid test in Canada because no where did they ask us for it, but I did hear from other guests at other resorts that they were asked so get it just incase.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Just Above Average
Grounds: overall quite good, lots of vegetation and little pathways which added a sense of exclusivity and an overall tropical feel. However, the resort was dated and I believe is the oldest Sandals, which is obvious from the more compartmentalized entrance and foyer. Also, way too many steps to get to beach on Seaside and to get to Ochi Beach Resort.
Food: Below what we expected for a Sandals and for the $3900 each that we spent for this trip - so we were disappointed. Portion size was minis[... read more]cule and in many restaurants, the food was too salty, and even cold on presentation of the meal. Room: The room was good overall with a nice view. The biggest disappointment was the bed which gave both of us little support and added to lower back pain, not good on a vacation. Please upgrade the mattresses! Sandals personnel were hot and cold. A number of their people were rude at the Airport reception area and in the hotel, which is not expected at a higher end resort. Upselling: There was a constant barrage of sales personnel continually trying to sell you trips, return visits, etc... in the main foyer, which was very tiring. Overal trip we would give it a 7/10. Would not go to another Sandals unless the pricing reflected a much better deal.

Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall: Great resort & relaxing time
Thanks, Ash Faramarzi, from Tripcentral for your recommendation of Hyatt Resort, near Montego Bay. We booked this trip about 2 weeks before the departure date and there were not too many options available. Ash recommended us this resort, helped us with the booking immediately, and advised us on the necessary steps (including Covid) before departure. I was impressed with the services provided and now, after returning from Jamaica, I liked his recommendation. The resort was great and we enjoyed ou[... read more]r vacation.

Ocean Coral Spring: Nice
When I arrived at the hotel there was no record of my booking , but they made me feel welcomed and arranged for a lovely room which was better than the one I had booked. The grounds were lovely and clean and the rooms were lovely and clean also. The resort is very large, so anyone with walking issues may have a problem. The food was good.
The beach is not the best, very small.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful grounds!
Grounds very nice and well maintained.
Evening entertainment - very poor
Rooms clean - but no blankets or comforters!!!!!???? Why? It wasn't only in my room...
Very poorly decorated too.
Food good, tasty, quite a variety.
Alcohol and drinks - just fair. Very disappointing.
Service - super unorganized and slow!
Staff - rather not nice and not smiling than sympathetic.
Looks like this resort was poorly managed in many aspects.
Not like other Grand Palladium I've been.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful resort with one issue
Everything was perfect. Service above average for the most part. Grounds, rooms, scenery, pool, spa, various a la carte restaurants were all more than adequate until we saw a cockroach on the buffet food area on the fifth day. For that reason can’t recommend. Unfortunate because it was so nice. We don’t travel much. Don’t forget your stomach remedies-maybe Dukoral before you leave.

Sandals Negril: Nice week but…
Got our antigen test 48hrs prior to embarking on our flight to Jamaica. Proof of testing was never requested at airport or upon arrival in Jamaica. Masks in airport and in transit on bus but once at the resort, only had to wear them if going to store, but never really after that as everything was open air. All staff consistently wore their masks throughout the resort. Never seen anyone sick or having caught COVID. Lots of unvaccinated Americans all over the resort though so I guess they ca[... read more]n fly without any vaccination whatsoever so whatever.
As far as Sandals Negril, we were not impressed. First time at a Sandals and for twice of what we usually pay for a 5 star resort, we expected a lot. After all, Sandals promotes the Ultra-all-inclusive and second to none service etc…. Got there and were given the wrong room which they claimed was an upgrade. When we booked, that room was actually $300 less per person/wk, no balcony. We requested a Caribbean premium so we could have a balcony as I am a diver and dry my stuff on the balcony after dives. So after showing them what I booked, I requested we get our booked room and not the one that was given to us. So they found me one. Two hours later, we get the room that was booked. Air conditioning unit sounded like a jet engine winding up so we went back to the desk and asked to have someone look at the A/C at which point they said it couldn’t be fixed. After requesting that we get a room that we actually can sleep in, we were advised that we couldn’t get one till tomorrow and to check back in the morning. So first full day at Sandals Negril was spent chasing another room that had to be cleaned at 3 pm. NOT IMPRESSED. So we finally get our new room and the A/C is nice and quiet but didn’t work much. Maybe a bit cool at best so we just gave up and sucked it up for the week and sweating at night. Not a good start but once we settled in, it was a decent week. Drinks are ok but have had way better at other 5 star resorts. Restaurants were pretty good, especially Sundowner which has the best crab cake appetizers I ever had. We went there twice. Italian restaurant was disgusting at best. All 4 of us didn’t eat most of our plates. Just tasted weird like they didn’t know how to cook Italian food. Tapaniaki was good. the main restaurant near the lobby is the one that didn’t require reservations needed but discovered on the evening that we chose to eat there that it was a special private dinner and function for returning Sandals guests only, therefore we couldn’t eat there. This left many couples going from restaurant to restaurant to beg to let us eat although we didn’t have reservations. We luckily got in one but we seen many other couples getting turned around. There were no signs anywhere whatsoever on the resort. They actually told us while reserving the other restaurants that this one didn’t require any reservation and available all week long. Other than that, the week was relaxing with a nice chill feel at this resort. We enjoyed the week as the staff is mostly great and understanding. Not necessarily accommodating but they do listen and appear to care. They try their best and we felt that but I think management is the issue.
As far as the Sandals experience, not impressed. The rooms were very dated and were easily the plainest rooms we have ever stayed in any AI resort. We have been to many resort all over the Caribbean, always 5 star and tbh, this was probably the worst of all those for double the price. Ultra-all-inclusive??? If you don’t water ski or wanna go tubing, the same is offered at all 4 couples resorts in Jamaica at half the price and are very similar small resort and chill feeling. The evening shows were pretty plain and/or non existent. Some guy in a saxophone came out and did 3 songs, another guy came out and sang 4 songs and the entertainment was over. None of the advertised white nights or beach parties advertised on the sandals website.(maybe due to Covid but why higher price).
This resort is on a very narrow strip of land with the small Negril airport just across the road 30 feet from the room so when the airport shuts down later at night, many of the staff there leave with their little cars with loud mufflers and banging music waking the whole place up unless you pay $5000-$7000 pp/wk for ocean view. And at 6 am, the same people drive in to work with the same cars etc…so never a days break all week.
The 7 mile beach is stunning but this resort is full of boats and crap so you can only swim in two roped areas that aren’t very big. The pools are small and well kept except the main pool with the swim up bar near the lobby had a big outside pump that was circulating water all week due to issues with the filtration system I guess. Quite an eye sore.
So to sum it up, decent resort with a decent layout with mostly good food other than the Italian restaurant, very dated and plain rooms needing TLC but great service and staff. All 4 of our opinions…save half the cost of this place and pick another 5 star in Negril that isn’t this Sandals. You will have better entertainment, equal or better food/drinks and probably way better accommodations.

The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. The grounds were immaculate. Beautiful extremely large pool, lazy river was fun. Every restaurant we went to was great. The food A1 service top notch. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Being new they had a few things to still iron out but on the whole it was a great holiday and would recommend it to anyone. Ocean Eden Bay: Beautiful Resort
Ocean Eden Bay Resort is gorgeous the views are to die for the rooms are lovely and the pool is outstanding and the resort is spotless and all the staff are so so friendly and welcoming the restaurants were great some had a little wait time to get in depending on what time you went. So many great restaurants so lots to chose from. The food was great. The weather was fabulous.
It hasn't been open very long so some tweaking on customer service could be better they don't answer their phones [... read more]every time and stocking the coffee and water etc could be better but like I said it's new and likely new staff. They are still adding on in areas of the beach but we loved the pool so we were poolside most of our stay enjoying the delivery of drinks.
There is a fair bit of walking so I think there should be a trolley that goes around so people can get on and off as they please esp. people with disabilities that can't walk very far. A lady that was with us was on oxygen and often times we couldn't get the trolley to come for us so she had to walk and it was difficult for her and some days she just stayed behind.
With Covid still in the air every precaution was taken to ensure our safety.
We didn't want to come home that's for sure and would put it on our list to return.
