Melia Cayo Santa Maria: A nice older resort with the excellent staff!

The rooms were decent for the price. Air conditioning worked very well. The food was decent for the price we paid. The beach and bars were EXCELLENT! The staff was very friendly, and they were very appreciative of the gifts we brought. I would go back again just for the beach and booze!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort- lots of potential

My husband, I and another couple, our friends, visited Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria from Feb. 26th to March 4th. We didn't have high expectations, going to this resort, after reading some of the negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised how nice and clean it was. The resort is beautiful and modern, the service is great, they have wonderful staff and they really trying to accommodate you with all your needs and make you stay very comfortable. We booked ocean view and they put us  [... read more]on the 3rd floor, in bungalow #6. We always had water, beer, (1 can), in the fridge, fresh towels were always available and the room was clean. We had hot water in the shower, all the time. Beds are comfortable, pillows are flat, but if you put the decorative pillows, right behind, it works just fine, so we had a good sleep. Wifi worked great in the room and we had 4 hours free as a bonus, because we booked our trip with Sunwing. The food was good, we even had spring salmon, in the buffet, for 3 days in the row, for dinner. Also, try to be there by 7:00pm, when they open a buffet, so you will have a good selection of food, but if you come late, some dishes will be gone. They have variety of fish and meat on a grill, everyday. Also, grilled chicken is very testy. If you need a spoon, or salt and pepper, ask your server, as they don't leave it on a table, but they will bring it to you, if you ask. We always had toilet paper in the room, but be aware that in public washrooms, throughout the resort, it is not always available. Pools and the beach were amazing, great staff on the beach coming to bring you chairs and serve you drinks. There are lots of chairs to lay out on, so you don't have to be there early morning. You can snorkel right on the beach, lots of small tropical fish in the water, near rocks and you can see star fish as well. Swimming was awesome, nice white sand, but be aware of small shells on the beach, not in the water. Big thank you to Niliam, she serves drinks in the lobby bar and Ernesto, he is a server in the buffet. They were great and gave us fantastic service. They always come to your table with a big smile on a face. I am a picky person, but left this resort with wonderful memories.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Vacation

Just returned from our 2 week vacation at Ocean Casa Del Mar. This was our second time there and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and spacious and the food was the best we’ve had in Cuba yet! We were in building 6 and were right in the middle of the walkway to the beach, the pool and snack bar, the towel exchange, and a very short walk from the buffet and lobby. We’ll definitely be going back again!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great Resort

The resort was great, the food was good and the staff was incredibly friendly. We loved our trip and would definitely go again. The beaches and the pools were amazing. Some of the amenities were closed, but we think it's because the resort was not fully booked.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Wonderful experience

The rooms were clean, and the people were wonderful. The servers at the buffet areas, snack bar, and beach bar were polite, attentive and did their best to make your experience memorable. Food was okay, however snack bar has some good options. Cuba is known for its beaches and friendly hospitality. When going to Cuba to any resort, food will be a hit or miss. Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort

This resort was the best one I stayed at in Cuba. Very clean amazing beach the buffet had losts of variety I was surprised for Cuba the food was good. The staff is very friendly the rooms are clean we had clean towels every day . Beach towels, we could get fresh ones every day.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Very nice resort

We all were very satisfied: the rooms, the food, the drinks, the pool area, the beach, everything in short reach, the people who work there are awesome. all good. The service from Tripcentral was very good too. Thanks it made our holiday great.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

Extremely friendly staff, all around. Very accommodating whenever we had an issue or concern. The only negative thing about the resort was the fact that they were running low on some items, but Trumps fault not the resorts

This resort was/is billed as a Four Star (4*) Resort, in my opinion, it barely deserves the Three Star (3*) rating! The food was terrible. The rooms are tired. The lobby crowded and smoke filled. The entertainment was the worst we have ever experienced. We won't return. We were glad we travelled with a group, it made the stay a little more tolerable. Live and learn :)

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Very good resort.

This resort is very nice. Grounds are clean and well kept. Staff is awesome. Rooms were clean and well kept. Our tv did not work, however this did not bother us. I was given a different room to accommodate my mobility issues without hesitation. Food was good for Cuba.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Very bad resort.

I will start by saying this is my first and last time going to anything less than 5 star. The resort ran out of multiple things including towels, pop, red wine and had a very limited selection of alcohol. On top of that I was there for two weeks and they never changed the bedding even once. I had to ask for soap even when they could clearly see I had none. I exercise in the form of long distance running... minimum 10 km every day and was only allowed 1 large water bottle per day and when i asked [... read more] for two I was told no. The staff on this resort were very nice and capable workers but they were not managed properly. They spray with the DDT wagon during busy hours like breakfast rather than much earlier when people and their children have to either run to get away from it or ingest it not knowing the dangers. I get the kill the mosquitos part but come on... schedules!!! Check in was a nightmare and I have had very long check in processes before. They had 3 people behind the counter but only one could do the checkin and the others just kept pointing to her. I will say I had a fantastic time at the resort with all the people I met but the resort can not take credit for that. We made the best of it.

Melia Las Dunas: Great Beach

Our first time to Melia Las Dunas was fun despite the very windy and cool weather. Pros: great beach, Hobie Cat sailboats,very friendly and helpful staff, good selection and plenty of food, well kept gardens and shrubs. Cons: resort too large, buffet restaurant extremely busy & very noisy, very windy on beach, 2 hour bus ride to airport, very slow check-in at Santa Clara airport. We really enjoyed the great service and awesome beach, but this resort is way too big for our liking. Too many people in noisy buffet lineups, too much walking from beach to our room and back to restaurants, and the lengthy 2 hour bus ride to airport is not a good way to start or end a holiday.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: So/so

Like many others have said the staff are wonderful people. The landscaping/pool/beach are very nice. They don’t keep the ac on when no ones in the room and also turn it down or off after cleaning, so the bedrooms have a very musky smell. Linens are washed but never really all that clean, with stains and smells of Cologne and perfume still present. The rooms themselves were very comfortable including the bed, wasn’t hard as a rook but also not to soft. Had one pillowcase that had mold on it  [... read more]but was changed as soon as we spotted it. As soon as you get close to any washrooms near restaurants/pool/lobby your meet with a very strong sewage stench, depending on the day from quite a distance as well. We never experienced it but others had said the 3 days before we arrived there was no beer or certain alcohols and our last two days you could tell they were runny short on pop as it was not available at certain bars/restaurants. The wifi worked just fine in our room, was good enough to FaceTime without lagging. We never used more then the 3 hours included but you can buy more time for 1cuc/hour. The food was ok especially for Cuba, but if you wanted variety your best to go to the buffet at grand memories. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Not enough to go back but enough to leave with good memories.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great!

The resort is unbelievable! The grounds are gorgeous and very neat. As for the food, always a big question mark, it was very good. The buffet was well stocked, carvery was awesome and the deserts were tasty and well displayed. Never made it to the beach, but was told it is amazing. The golf cart shuttles were always prompt and the drivers very polite. The only problem we found was the lack of of use of the transfer buses. Empty buses going to the airport with folks 'waiting' to go [... read more] to the airport. Sunwing must do a better job of co-ordinating transfers. The ride to the airport was supposed to be one and one half hours, we took the scenic route, which was most interesting, and took three hours. On the whole, a most enjoyable vacation with lots of food and libations!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Nice Resort

This was a nice resort. However, had a few minor problems. Our room smelt musty and the pillows were wet from the humidity. We were on the bottom floor and had many bugs in our room since there was a gap between the door and ground. The pool area did not have enough shade and chairs, and the snack bar took about an hour to make a sandwich. On our last day there, we waited an hour and half for food just for them to tell us they had closed and could not make our meals. The restaurants had grea [... read more]t food and our maid was lovely. The beach was also nice. Although, I wish the restaurants were open for longer than just 3-4 hours a day. There was plenty of entertainment during all times of the day, especially the lobby at night. I liked how they had servers taking drink orders on the beach and in the lobby.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Wonderful Resort

The resort is one of the most beautifully landscaped properties in Cayo Santa Maria. The pools are incredible. We met some of the most welcoming staff in the serving staff like Calixo, Julio in the buffet and Fabian Daniel and Jorge at the pool snack bar. Thomas at the Ocean bar was a pleasure to meet. What lovely staff. Supplies were slim including what people feel are essentials. I love the Cuban people and was not disappointed again.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic vacation

This was our 2nd time at this resort and we will return. We enjoyed our vacation to the fullest. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. All of the staff work very hard to keep the resort beautiful & clean. The beaches are perfect. The food was also good.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great resort, great staff!

The hotel was in good shape. Bungalow 59 could use some updates compared to our friend's bungalow (61). Water pressure failed one day, but was fixed the following. No great concern. Overall, kept very clean and tidy. Butler service was amazing and very helpful. Food was good, no issues at all. Beach grill awesome. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Actually feel it could be marketed as an eco hotel due to all the lush vegetation and trees present. We never experienced  [... read more]any concerns and would return.

Grounds were beautiful Activities were not there ...food 3 out of 5 ..Elevator was still not working when we left .. Staff very pleasant but lacked the skill of language to communicate with.. not very organized

Valentin Perla Blanca: I’ll be back

What a great resort. Plenary to eat at every meal, a cold drink is never very far as there is places everywhere. The pool was relaxing and the staff was more than willing to help with anything you needed. Beautiful beach to enjoy long walks, relaxing lounging. Clean rooms and hot water every day. Always something in the lobby in the evening to entertain.
