Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Awesome

The hotel is very nice and clean very impressed with the food choices/restaurants. Our room was clean and towels and fridge replenished every day. Entertainment was pretty good. Wished we could have had some earlier dinners more popular restaurants were already booked so some later meals. The beach is the best…seaweed when we were there but time of the year. Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Amazing resort!

We loved this resort !!! The staff. The pools. The entertainment. The Food! We are planning to return at the end of January! Definitely rooms in block 5!!! The ocean beach were beautiful!!! We cannot say enough about the entire staff!!!! Rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean! Cannot wait to return!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Disappointing

We are avid Bahia Principe travellers. We have visited only BP hotels in DR and Mexico, and this was our 7th time, and likely our last (at least just in DR). Every time in the last 10 years of coming to these hotels, we have had room problems but this stay took the cake. We arrived around midnight from our late trip. Upon arrival our room was on first floor. We noted it looked new and updated but soon learned there was no air conditioning, the patio door didn't lock, and the sink didn't drain [... read more], and safe didn't work. We called several times and we're told someone would come, no one came. I ended up walking halfway up the road until I caught a trolley and was taken to front desk. By now it was 2am. We received a new room from Francesco. He was the only person who helped us. We moved everything including our two children to the other room. 3 days in that room, around 10pm we noticed a leak coming from bathroom ceiling... It picked up and started to come through multiple spots and then the light! We called and maintenance came and said we needed a new room. Went back to front desk and saw Francesco. He said only one room left on resort. We packed up everything and our kids and moved by 12/1am. Upon arrival to new room we had a sink that didn't drain and no hot water. My husband went to front desk to complain the next day and it was fixed. To top this off... Every single morning there is a gang of staff that hang around the lobby and try to sell services and privilege club, spa, photos etc. We spoke with them and explained we weren't interested and why, but continued to be asked and approached the whole trip. On the 3rd time, the man explained it's his job and he will keep doing it because he has a family to feed. Yes I get that, but when the answer is no.. that's not going to change because you keep at us everyday. It was excessive. On the Thursday they had vendors there at all the walkways leading up to the lobby. It was impossible to get through without blatantly ignoring and going out of the way and around to not be stopped. Like, we just want to go on vacation to relax... This doesn't help! If we want to shop we can go on excursions or go to the village. Or let us approach you! The buffet. The quality has decreased quite significantly over the years. The ladies at the door don't really stop anyone to control people coming into tables, so most of the time you seat yourself. The servers were only really attentive like 50% of the time. Eventually by the end of the trip I got my own family their water and glasses and cutlery. I would say - the men were much better at greeting us, being positive and happy, and ensuring our tables were cleared off and that we had drinks. Typically the women were slow and rarely responded in time. The quality of the food wasn't that well received. Alot of options but weren't really great options. For example: pureed pumpkin for breakfast/lunch. Huh? The pancakes were always hard - why?? And the scrambled eggs were awful.. they never tasted right. The sheer amount of people and lack of fans/air conditioning made this place a complete sweat box. To be honest I was glad to get home so that I didn't have to go to that buffet any longer. Also: beware of being upsold by your airline for the bavaro adventure park - we were promised lots and were super disappointed with the day, and paid over $400 for it for 4 of us. When we got back my husband went to talk to the sales rep and she was long gone. In addition to this we went several days without towels as we were told they didn't have any at the pool. Then we finally got some 3rd day in and we held onto them the whole trip. My daughter had a scheduled hair appointment at the little spa by the pool. When my family got there, there was 3 employees arguing in Spanish. They then began braiding my daughter's hair and continued to argue well into the hour. My daughter wanted my husband to stay but eventually they stopped and she was okay. Lastly, my daughter fell through a grate at the pool in the waterpark. We informed the lifeguard. I watched him go speak to 4 staff members who were sitting and talking. No one did anything about it. My husband put a lounger over it so no other children would get hurt. We were there til about 6 and no one had come to fix it. What went well; the pool staff, the pool entertainment, the drinks, the hotel cleaning staff, the trolleys, and the truck (snack bar) was great. Overall we will not be returning to this resort ever again. We have had much better experiences at other BP resorts and will consider possibly now changing it up.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful resort, incredible staff!

I loved my stay here. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, beautiful amenities and amazing beach! The food was fantastic. Lots of fun activities during the day and the evening too. I can’t wait to come back!

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing Resort

First trip solo and this resort is exactly what I was looking for. I felt very comfortable and safe all the time. It's a smaller resort. Close to market and shopping mall. The beach was a short walk and beautiful! Lots of chairs shade or sun! Resturant and bar right there too. Security guard on beach and resort at all times. Vendors were at the resorts and very respectful. My only disappointment were the women that were offering pedicures. Very aggressive and asking for ridiculous cost and t [... read more]oo persistent. Beware!! Food always a great selection and very good. Room was clean. Entertainment staff were so much fun. Definitely my go to place again!!

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Disappointing 4-Star Experience

The resort falls far short of 4-star standards. Our "Superior Ocean View" room was starkly minimalist: no coffee maker, an empty mini-fridge, and a pay-per-use safe (watch the final bill—they tried to charge us double). The shower had almost no pressure, with water swinging wildly from scalding to icy. Noise from nearby activities blared past midnight every night, despite the room's prime location steps from the beach and its stunning balcony views. À la carte restaurants were a step up with attentive service (unlike the nonexistent help at the buffet). Bars were chaotic: endless lines, subpar or unavailable drinks, and exhausted bartenders doing their best under pressure. Beach and Extras The white-sand beach was pleasant overall, mostly seaweed-free but dotted with hidden rocks. Weather was perfect (31°C+ sunshine), but skip the kayak/boat rental; they're rude. The pool was unappealing and poorly maintained. No visible cleaning efforts during the day, and the water appeared cloudy. In summary, beautiful setting marred by subpar facilities, food, and service. Not worth the 4-star price.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort

Clean Resort, hospitality was amazing! Food was plentiful and delicious. Entertainment was great. Rooms were clean and spacious.Juan our pool boy waiter was attentive, friendly, enthusiastic and a pleasure to talk to. Beaches were awesome! Definitely a 5 star Resort. Look forward to going back!

Punta Cana Princess: Relaxing resort

We have been to this resort many times. It is a great place to go to relax and enjoy the beach and pool. The staff are great and there was always a variety of dishes to choose from. A visit to the sister resort is a must for dinner or just to stroll the grounds.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Nice resort

Good healthy food that is flavourful and delicious. Steakhouse restaurant has good salmon, chicken and ribs. The room is very comfortable but there is a construction going on. It can be noisy. Massage at spa was absolutely wonderful thanks John.

Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort and Spa: Great resort, terrible service

The resort is new and beautiful - great rooms, clean and awesome pools, lots of loungers and long beautiful beach. The service however ruined it all first we thought it was because resort is new but soon became apparent they just don't care - can never get drinks at the buffet, wait for hours for room service only to get 1/2 order, people forgetting your order, brining you food you did not order or asking repeatedly for water and having to go get it yourself. Took 3 days to get a laundry bag an [... read more]d then another 2 days to have it picked up for actual washing. No one seems to care about customers or service. First four days food was so limited at the buffet I felt like I was at a mediocre 3 star in Cuba. It improves for the weekend when more Latin American guests arrived. Note it's over an hour and a half drive from airport. If you want a beautiful place where you'll just have to serve yourself and eat same food every day then this is it.

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Everything was as expected or exceeding our expectations. Hotel clean, wide room, Hot water and a lot of pressure in the shower, nice beach, a lot of activities and animations, exceptionnal gym, great food variety and quality, hotel crew members very nice.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing Resort with Amazing Staff

We absolutely loved our stay at the Melia! The resort atmosphere, the staff — everything was just fantastic. Not one complaint from start to finish. The food was great, the entertainment was fun, and the weather couldn’t have been better. We went as a family and stayed in the Adults Only section — totally worth it. This trip truly set the bar for all our future vacations. Can’t wait to go back! Rating: ????? (5/5)

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort

We booked preferred service at hotel, we had a private car service from airport to hotel we were dropped off at the preferred lobby, it was a nice touch. After check-in our butler showed us to our room. The food and drinks were good, it was nice not needing to make reservations for dinner. We had a food allergy and the majority of time this was adhered to, except one meal we were served this food. They didn't seem to take the situation seriously which was disheartening. There are lots of pools to choose from which includes multiple swim up bars. The beach is disappointing, there is a rock shelf on this resorts beach front which makes it very difficult to swim, we were at this resort for a week and barely saw anyone in the water. It would have been nice to have beach access to the other sister hotels up the beach as you can swim in these areas. The washroom is too far from beach. The ladies at the cafe were friendly and attentive, by mid-week they new our order, great service by Oscari & Rosemary.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach: Beautiful Sunsets

This resort is beautiful. It has amazing sunsets, fun activities, and a wonderful beach. However, the staff is not very friendly nor is the clientele. It is Italian, French and Spanish speaking only. The guests are very rude and the staff is not very friendly. The entertainment staff was the best and seems to work all day until 12:30 am. We rented an Oceanfront bungalow, room 1152 the sand flees were everywhere including all over the room. We are covered in bites! The food was not great, buffet  [... read more]food is covered in flies and the tables were always dirty. We usually had to find utensils and napkins and clean off our own table. All though the grounds were really nicely kept and the pools were warm and clean, no sea weed at the ocean, the lack of friendliness and rude guests we would not return to this resort.

Viva Miches by Wyndham: Beautiful Resort

Very nice staff. There is a language barrier for those who do not speak Spanish. Speaking to servers at restaurants was something hard as an English speaker, but customer service representatives understood and spoke English. There is a family of cats including Kittens and they are very friendly and playful. Only thing is that the hotel room mini fridge only had 2 diet cokes and 2 tonic waters in the fridge and it is not restocked during the stay. Overall I would visit again.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Decent resort for reasonable price

Everything was good - beach, ocean, food, bars, room, but one nuisance should be mentioned. For some reason they organise the live performances with the local entertainers every evening right at the central plaza next to the main restaurant between the buildings ((though there is a special theatre next to the beach remotely from the room buildings) and such performances usually do not end till 10pm or even later. My first priorities at the resort are always the beach and the ocean and I go to be [... read more]d rather early moreover in November it is dark after 6pm. And I go to the beach before 8am. So, with the loud music from the performances there is no chance to get asleep before 10pm. I really cannot understand why they do not begin the shows earlier and do not wrap up before 9pm. Only the guests at the buildings 5 and 6 can sleep relatively well, those buildings are protected by the buildings 2 and 3.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great week getaway !!

Just returned from a relaxing week in paradise. Bahia Principe El Portillo did not disappoint. Beautiful beach, good food, great staff and beautiful grounds. We did have some issues arranging AlaCarte dinners but managed to get 4 booked for a group of 10 people. Rooms were spacious but a little tired. Could use some spicing up. 4th time at this resort and will go back.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Another great time at Casa

This was my 15th time to Casa. Loved every minute. This trip I seen alot of upgrades.. New 50in tvs in rooms. Not sure of how many rooms had been done. Now there is free wifi throughout the resort. The grounds people were busy daily cutting grass.. 2 of the 3 cool pools were being sanded and repainted. Unfortunately my favorite one was one of them. Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort but Needs Improvement

The resort is new, and it’s understandable that things are still being worked out, but there are definitely areas that need improvement. Dinners took nearly two hours from start to finish, and some guests had to wait hours just to get into a restaurant. While the staff are generally friendly and trying their best, it’s clear that many of them still lack proper training. We ran into a serious issue with glass on the pool deck—unfortunately, I found it by stepping on it and cutting my foot. Mos [... read more]t of the staff didn’t seem too concerned, except for Mildred, the pool bartender, who was excellent and genuinely cared. The onsite doctor was also great and helped clean the wound, but over the next few days, we continued to notice glass around the pool area with no one cleaning it up. Our room also flooded on the second day due to a shower drain problem that maintenance had supposedly fixed. To their credit, the staff and concierge were quick and helpful in moving us to a new room. Despite the issues, the resort itself is beautiful, and you can tell they’re working hard to improve. The beach is amazing—a bit wavy, which I actually enjoyed, and if you prefer calmer water, you can just walk a few meters down the beach. Overall, it’s a gorgeous property with potential, but the service, maintenance, and safety standards need attention before it truly lives up to the Secrets brand.
