Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: fantastic resort -

This hotel was amazing, very clean and loads of food options to choose from. The beach had a little seaweed but was quickly cleaned up. Entertainment was great in the evening and daytime always had stuff going on - drinks are great and staff are very friendly

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Worst resort I’ve ever been to

The hotel overall is less than a 3.5 star. The service from front desk, housekeeping and bar are horrible. The entire management team needs to be re-evaluated and the staff need more training to resolve issues.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Royalton Bavaro Punta Cana

Nice resorts food was excellent room was clean,there was staff at the front desk of our building who harassed us everytime we left or entered the building and there was a bit of a language barrier but other then that a high end resort.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Resort

This resort is beautiful, amazing food and very clean. BUT if you don't like kids everywhere then you might want to book at the Hideway at Royalton. Adults only and that's where I will go next time. It didn't ruin our trip but my kids are grow up now & I like the quietness better. Staff were amazing there and quick to get back to you if you had issues. Rooms were very nice and clean. Now the smoking...they [... read more] do allow smoking everywhere outside so if you are totally against smoking you might not like this. There are no barriers for smokers..they can smoke everywhere except restaurants and rooms. Can get a bit annoying if you're by the pool, ocean or watching the shows and you get beside a chain smoker that really doesn't care and puffs away. But it's Mexico and pretty much all resorts are like this. You want restricted smoking areas go to Jamaica. I stayed at the Riu Palace in Montego Bay and they have smoking areas & even on the beach as well. Beaches have the depth to swim & sand bottom...but water is murky not clear blue which was a bit of disappointment. But once again didn't ruin the trip we could still get cooled off. I would definitely return to this resort but go the Hideaway. It's attached to the Royalton..and you get use of the entire resort...just gives you a private beach area and pool with adults only for a quieter vacation. I would totally recommend this resort for younger families. The kids pool area is unbelievable and the kids would have a blast!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort

Totally recommend this resort. Had a little mix up with our rooms for the first couple days but they ended up resolving it. If you want top notch food options, quality and service I’d totally recommend this place. Coffee/dessert/ice cream shop is amazing, all included as well. Also like the fact you don’t have to carry a room key (your bracelet is your room key)or towel card with you, total plus. Tip: If you need two queen beds in your room call hotel before showing up to let them know or you’ll likely end up with only one king bed.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: So much fun!

The grounds at this resort are immaculate and people are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We met many new friends and took part in all of the activities that the resort had to offer including the fitness classes, trivia games, dance contests and nightly entertainment. Would definitely go back again. Thank you Trip Central-Jen Wilson in particular for your excellent recommendations.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Excellent Resort

We were very happy with this resort. Lots of entertainment and lots of restaurant choices. It was nice to be able to have breakfast and lunch in the restaurants if you didn't feel like the buffet. We loved that on the most part reservations were not required at most of the a la cartes....it was first come first serve and we did not have to wait long at all. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Excellent Trip!

My husband and I took a week long baby free trip to the Royalton and it was everything we could have wanted! The room was big and and comfortable. The bed was comfortable (which has NOT been my experience at resorts). All the information about the activities on the resort can be found on the tv. The menus are there too for the a la cartes, however one was slightly outdated. Didn't matter to us much as the food at the a la cartes was quite good -not just the buffet food plated nicely. Speaking [... read more] of which, the buffet food was tasty - always plentiful and lots of variety. Every server always asked if there were any food allergies to be aware of and were quite prompt with their service. The Diamond Club upgrade was worth it for the access to quieter spaces for us. Looking down the beach at the Royalton club and the Hideaway section, all the loungers and daybeds looked way more crowded than in the regular Diamond Club section. We never had to scavenge for loungers or daybeds at the beach and we usually didn't get down there until 11. The servers at the beach bar were excellent and entertaining if you wanted them to be - left you alone if not. Same with the people selling extras at the club - always around, but a wave of the hand or a no thank you and they were on their way. The beach sand was gorgeous and white - but there is some seaweed in the water and on the sand closer to the water. It didn't stink and we swam every day, regardless. They do try to clean it up every day. We went with Sunwing - and there is always that extra piece about getting you to talk to a tour director about offsites which was fine. Nothing that pushy. You also get a voucher book from the hotel for a total of $120 US towards items at the resort, but it all requires you to spend money to get money (i.e $50 off a Spa treatment, $10 in the casino if you spend $10, etc) If you want those things - nice to have a little extra off. We made use of the Casino cash for a bit of entertainment. The nighttime entertainment was alright. Decent talents but sometimes repetitive between the Diamond club pool and the main pool - so you might see the same act a couple of times in a week. There was a dance troupe there on the Friday that was pretty entertaining and a magician. The rest were musical acts. There is a bit of shopping on the resort - but fairly expensive for key items like sunscreen ($24USD) so stock up! But they have things available if you are caught. Overall - our trip was everything we wanted. Lots of sun, lots of drinks, good food and nice staff. Would definitely come back - with or without our kiddo! (Big water park/kid pool on the opposite of the resort from us - looked like lots of fun for the littles) Thanks Royalton! PS. resort is about 20 mins from the airport which was perfect to get away from the airplane traffic, but nice that we didn't have to be on a bus forever.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Has everything you need

The hotel was well kept and had lots of options for food and entertainment. Since the resort is a little ways from the city center it’s nice for these options to be available. Great resort if you have a family with children as they have a large water park area with slides and activities and also a separate area for adults who prefer the more quiet experience.

Everything at the resort was absolutely wonderful. Loved the stay and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely refer to friends and family and may even visit again in the future.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort - Royalton fit program gets an A+

This resort delivers on all levels, accessiblility, greening and mostly non smoking with the accept ion of designated areas. Very friendly service oriented staff - that just want to please - restaurants that I tried were Zen (Asian) Hunter (steak) Agave (Mexican) all very good! Moreover the Royalton fit program was an added bonus and the reason we chose this resort - wanting to maintain our routines we really wanted a well rounded fitness experience, boot camp classes, kickboxing, and spin clas [... read more]ses were my go too along with the sunrise yoga - which is worth the 7:00 am wake up! They also have cross fit and cardio an classes for those who are interested. Trainers Isis, Ariel and Francesco deserve s shot out - they push with a smile! Our room was comfortable and modern - shout out to Margarita who took good care of us and our room - I will definitely return - For those who walk the beach note - there is a lot of sea grass on the beach which hinders walking during high tide time - best walks are between 10 and 2

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful place

Everything was great: clean, well maintained, good food, good evening shows, good restaurants. Diamond Club is worth every penny. Beach is perfect. Rooms are comfortable with great balcony. Will definitely return.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Absolutely a beautiful resort.

Our room was just newly redecorated, we had been to this resort three times before and had no complaints, it was even better this time with many new amenities. The resort is so clean, grounds beautifully maintained, felt like a piece of paradise. The staff go above and beyond to help in every way, and always have a smile on their faces. My wife and daughter have Celiac disease (gluten free) they were given a card indicating their food allergies, and every time they went to the dining room t [... read more]he Chef would go around with them and show them what they could eat gluten free. The nights they wanted pasta, the chef in that area would cook the food especially for them. My son in-law and myself enjoyed every aspect of the dining. We also went to the VIP lounge at the airport, they didn't have gluten free sandwiches, but did offer yogurt and food in that category which my wife and daughter could eat. All in all, I couldn't say enough about the resort and the staff, go you will enjoy, we had 30 - 32 deg. weather every day.

Royalton Hideaway Negril: Beautiful resort

The resort was very easy to get around, the rooms were very comfortable and always clean. The staff and their service were top notch. The food was really good and the buffet had a large variety of different foods to try. I enjoyed the beach and the snorkeling. Overall this is a great resort to chill out and relax.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: A top notch family resort

This hotel is defintely 5 stars from the beautiful rooms to the fresh and great variety of foods. The service was excellent, the drinks and they are wonderfully friendly people who do their best to make you have a great vacation. The resort has lots to offer, a lazy river, simulated surfing, small waterpark for younger kids, lots of restaurants for every taste.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Overall ok but....!

Basics of food, entertainment, service, and room were pretty good. Beach is covered in seaweed and staff could not come close to keeping up its removal. Water is churned and brown ....we did not enter the sea....we just walked the seaweed beach. Giant resort being built next door...at the concrete pouring stage. Royalton owns and promotes a "diamond club". It is sort of a timeshare and there is sales pressure throughout the resort. Another employee told me the house wine "tasted like shit" when trying to sell a wine upgrade package. Could not get a glass of wine on room service. You must carry your own up in a cup from a bar. Booking a dinner reservation at the Japanese restaurant was a joke. Must be same day starting at 3 pm. It was lined up and full by 3:06. Complete waste of time. Butlers are salespersons and cant help with reservations or much else. Clearly, these were annoyances to me but we still had a good time and ate well

Resort was great. It's a 5 star and it showed. Workers very professional and helpful. Truly a calming place to be. The food was great, and there were many options for food. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice 5 star resort in Negril!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Love the Lazy river and Fry truck

The lazy river is the best feature to this resort. So much fun! The fry truck is in the perfect location and always busy and has the best food. Restaurants are ok. Steak house still not up to par. Japanese and Brazilian are ok. Italian is very good. Buffet has excellent and numerous choices. Even a little buffet for kids!! Rooms are good. Had trouble with our room key bracelets again. Last year also! Frustrating. Need to do a better job of letting people know what activities are happening.  [... read more]Need to have more spots open for the painting class! Had problems with Sunwing flight down so it was 10 wait at Toronto so didn't get to resort until 3am. One then two people to check us in and had to take luggage by ourselves. Would come back and would recommend. This is not an adults only....many families and children.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Relaxing

Very pretty, well laid out resort. Too many stairs and some in need of repair. Room was dated but fine. Room designation however was well located, close to lobby and bars, but we had a wake up call at 5:45 every morning as our room was beside the work area, so lots of loud talking and banging. So don't let them put you in 1103! Food was okay, we tried two restaurants and were disappointed so we ate at the buffet the rest of the week. Always found something to eat. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Wonderful week at the Royalton Hicacos !

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Check-in was simple and efficient. We were given a butler, which we weren't expecting. He gave us a tour of the resort, while taking us to our room. He was very professional, highly trained and helpful. The Royalton Hicacos is a lovely resort that was built with top quality materials. Often staff would ask, " is everything ok?" They were always anxious to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. There was daily entertainment in the Lobby Bar and the Jazz Bar. There was live dinner music in the a la carte restaurants and at the evening buffets. All the music we listened to was very enjoyable. The bar service throughout the resort was friendly and efficient. The drinks were made with good quality liquor. The house wine served throughout the resort was very acceptable. We did not use the pools as we preferred the beach.The beach was a highlight for us. Endless sand, beautiful warm water, and cabanas were always available. The beach was divided into non-smoking and smoking sections, so everyone was accommodated. Beach attendants were always available to find us a beach chair. There was a restaurant and bar service at the beach, and that was very convenient. There was never a need to reserve a cabana early in the morning. The food throughout the resort was good. This was our fourth trip to Cuba and this was by far the best resort to-date with the best food. We could always find something we liked to eat and the service was excellent. We ate two meals in the a la carte restaurants; the Caribbean and the International. Their menus had ample variety. We had excellent meals at both restaurants. This was our ninth trip to the Caribbean (Punta Cana,Cuba and Mexico). We have always stayed at 4.5 and 5 star resorts. This was the best overall resort so far. We highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning.
