Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Fantastic Resort

The staff at this resort bends over backwards to make the visitor happy. By far the cleanest place you'll ever stay. The food was delicious, the drinks superb, and the service just fantastic. Our only complaint was the floor in the shower. It was extremely slippery when wet. But neither of us fell so, yippee.

Gran Festivall: Oh no!!

Although the food was the best we've had at any resort, a few things were off. If you're accustomed to a soft bed and soft pillows, this is not the place for you. No blankets, just sheets. No wash cloths either. Waiters don't come around to take orders around the pool. Cockroach in our room. A rat in the pool, mouse droppings on the window sill. Mice could be heard in A/C units. Raccoons running around on the grounds. Water pipe broke the day before we left, no flushing toilets, no showers... th [... read more]at really sucked. Water slides were broken. Definitely need to get softer beds and pillows, also need décor in villas.

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Mixed feelings about this resort

Staff were very friendly. The food was wonderful. I liked the privacy of the rooms. The biggest drawback was the lack of beach on site. The cenotes were nice as was the pool but I still really missed the on site beach.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Fab resort

All areas were fantastic........except our room! It was in need of a makeover,so we spent another $2300.00CAD to upgrade to the Premier section The new room was great. We would have had a depressing stay had we stayed in the first room allotted. The resort was great. All staff were very helpful. I would recommend to a friend with the caveat that they book Premier as the regular class of rooms just don’t fit the bill for an expensive holiday.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Barcelo Beach resort

Very good overall--excellent maintenance on grounds, pools, beach. Food very good, coffee a bit of burnt taste. Many staff have very limited English skills, but most friendly and make attempts to communicate. Room very good in all features except floor cleaning--always grit left as if floor was not swept. Dirt on floor in corners, under desk, etc. Otherwise well cleaned daily.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice location

Thought I would let you know how unhappy we are. So far a very poor experience at our hotel. The sales pressure for future stays is very forceful. The man that approached us was very aggressive and trying to into my purse and our beach bag for the paperwork on the tours we purchased at the airport from the hotel representative who we later found out was not from Ocean Coral and Turqueta. We went for dinner at the steak house last night. Ordered Calamari for appetizer and it was horrible!!!!!! [... read more] We got 3 pieces of Heavily battered and extremely greasy Calamari! I ordered a prime rib steak (medium rare), with a baked potato and got blue rare steak, 3 small slices of cold sliced potato. Brian ordered Beef Ribs with baked potato and he too got 3 small slices of COLD potato. Our server Tony not once came by to check on our meals. When he finally came around we brought the steak and cold, hard and raw potato to his attention but there was no remorse. He offered to have the same steak put back on the grill to cook more!!! I ordered a margarita and hit it in a short plastic glass!!! Very pathetic to go to a steak house and get such awful service and food. We thought since I was still hungry we’d get dessert at the Italian Restaurant and ordered banana flambé. Excited for my dessert only to be disappointed with a very hard bite size banana tart with no taste. After our very poor dining experience we went to the lobby lounge for a drink. I ordered a Martini which arrived in a plastic margarita glass. I asked my server why he brought me a margarita and not a Martini he advised it is a Martini and they didn’t have any martini glasses!! Seriously a 4+ resort and no martini glasses?? They serve drinks in plastic glasses? Our room in situation right outside a road and traffic starts at 5 AM. I’m on vacation and definitely not interested in waking up with traffic at 5:00AM. We wanted to stay away from the traffic noise not in the have a bust road in front of our room!! So far our experience is awful. It is with your recommendation that we came here and are extremely disappointed. I am going to the front desk to see they will move us. Sorry to have to write this email but I felt you should be aware of our negative experience so far. Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful resort

The grounds were beautiful, the service was very good ...the food, I found mediocre! Especially the dinner buffet! There are lots of lemurs on the property that are very amusing ...one of them actually took my Blue Hawaii cocktail when I was on the beach...very funny!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great Resort

The hotel was extremely clean. The grounds were amazing. Lots of plants, flowers and wildlife. The rooms were excellent. All the rooms were located at an elevated part of the resort. If you didn't want to walk, they had golf carts to take you to/from the rooms. The restaurants were located up/down stairs. There were no elevators. The beaches were amazing and you do get served drinks on all beaches. The wait staff were great. The food in the buffet was acceptable. There was always something [... read more] to eat.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very nice resort

very clean, staff is awesome, beach and pool awesome. The rooms were very clean. The drinks were ok, but no straws available due to the fact that this is an eco friendly resort. No elevators, which was a problem.

Canto Del Sol: Super friendly, great holiday

We travelled to this resort at the end of January. The staff was excellent, great food and the rooms were very clean. The overall atmosphere was relaxing. This was our first time to canto del sol and we will definitely go back.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Try to Please but ... Miss the Mark !

Small resort in need of repair and upgrades that tries to please, but with limited options. Some things are done well and others MISS THE MARK completely. First room dingy, dirty, old located on the edge of the resort overlooking old dilapidated buildings covered in dead vegetation and not acceptable according to our travel reservation. After numerous complaints with management and over 24 hours later it was changed to an appropriate room with beautiful ocean view. This is a waste of time and [... read more] energy for guests who just want to relax without conflicts or changes. Unless you are an early riser, beach chairs, fluffy towels, dinner reservations are rarely attainable after 8 am. Who wants to set your alarm on your vacation to assure some comforts? Another MISS by management to upgrade the experience. After a few days you learn to be creative and adapt. On a positive note ... great weather, beautiful, clear turquoise water and amazing sunsets with many servers who hustle for your approval and try hard to please. We were fortunate to book this resort at a good discount months in advance anticipating an affordable family, group trip. BUYER BEWARE ...Do not over pay or have reasonable expectations for this resort or you will be disappointed and MISS the MARK. Plan to return to beautiful Cozumel, but not this resort unless changes and upgrades are completed.

Villa Del Palmar Cancun: Amazing Vacation!!

Our stay at the Villa Del Palmar Cancun from Feb 2-7'18 was absolutely magical!! The resort is stunning, rooms are beautiful and we absolutely loved the large balcony with the hammock. The food at all of the restaurants was amazing, and the beach was beautiful. The staff at the resort were wonderful. Having vacationed in Mexico 7 previous times...this resort is the absolute favourite. We will definitely be returning to the Villa Del Palmar Cancun.

Riu Emerald Bay: Riu riu

The riu is about thirty minutes from airport.When we arrived check in was so easy and fast very friendly, room was nice there was a puddle of water on the floor as we entered the room,we spoke with front desk about it we went to grab some food,when we went back it was taken care of,fridge was kept stalked with water and beer every day,there pools were nice, beautiful beach great for walking the weather was pretty good a couple of cloudy days but still was warm.Food was very good you would never  [... read more]starve they also had a beach party excellent bbq they had a band dance floor on beach big bon fire that was very well done , nightly entertainment needs some help,during the day there games were fun,they had a foam party witch was a lot of fun, they need better pillows,and the bed was a little to hard.overall we enjoyed our stay and would return,the second floor is good if you can get it,easy access to stairs so you don’t have to use the elevator.

Grand Oasis Sens: Nice Place...but will not revisit

I was travelling with 3 of my friends on Jan. 31 (for an 8 days stay). The hotel is very close to the airport, the transport was quick. Some travellers found out upon arrival that no rooms were available. We needed to tip at the fromt desk to get a better room. The rooms were fine, no issues. The bed not too comfortable but did the job. The TV was damaged so the screen had bad quality. Impossible to get any botteled water anywhere in the hotel except what was in the room fridge... Since we  [... read more]didn’t have the upgrade for Sian Ka’an, we only had access to 1 bar that was closing at 10 pm. The Kinky disco was then becoming available that was really so so. The service at the bar (lobby or the beach), was VERY slow!! Only one barman, David, was great but we gave him tips of around 10$US/day. The restaurants can be reserved only 24-48 hrs before and the line ups were horrible. The buffet was mediocre, the time to get an omelet in the morning was 40 min. Very frustrating. On two occasions, while in a restaurant, we just left without receiving our meal since it took 1 hour to get it...and still, it didn’t arrive. Although it is mentionned not to leave the towels on the chairs, travellers do it anyway. Therefore, there is almost never any seats available around the pool. The music is nice during the day, entertainment, although short, was fun as well, as was the foam pool party. The bracelet given upon arrival is also the key to the room. That is a nice upgrade so there is no worry about loosing the room card. What made a difference was the beautiful weather and the great people we met. Over all, I give this resort a 6 out of 10.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: What no Corona extra

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Fabulous Fun Resort

Love the resort Great for family or couples and if traveling alone lots to see and do. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Awesome Resort!!

‎2/‎9/‎2018 I traveled to Mexico on a nine day get away. I vacation outside of Canada annually .The trip was shared with my husband, adult daughter and her partner. Two rooms on the third floor of Villa 19 in the gated resort of The Grand Bahai Principe Tulum. Villa was located in a gorgeous setting. Mary our assigned Cleaning staff member ensured our room was spotless on a daily basis. Food was very good. Always enjoyed our meals. Pools were beautiful, beach was great, beach has rocks and coral, bring water shoes and this is enjoyable as you get to see all the fish that are near these areas. This area is particularly calm and quiet. Location lends itself to so many attractions as there are many very close by.to name a few less than 10km away Jungle Place,Cenote Santa Cruz,Dolphinaris,Akumal Beach,Turtle Snorkle,Xel-ha, Monkey Sanctuary,XCachel,Golf Club,Akumal Bay,Half Moon Bay, Mexicarte Shopping,Budha Gardens, etc. At the entrance all transportation and luggage is handled. There is a taxi price list for your viewing. This area will call your taxi for you. Many taxis fit 4, the driver plus 3. A bigger car was requested for our group of 4. Same price. I was welcomed as an appreciated guest by all staff members that I came in contact with, they were kind, courteous, and willing and equiped to handle any request. Photos of restort are true to actual;. What photos cannot capture is the friendly atmosphere created by the entertainment, the guests and staff interacting and how it nourishes your very stay. This huge resort is divided and each resort has its own specialty. Tulum offered us the pleasing view of dolphins onsite. The resort offers everything, one could have a long visit and never need to leave the property.To name a few Casino, Pharmacy, Shopping, Performance Theatre, Coffee Station, Meals, Ala Carte Restaurants, Beach Bar, Pools etc. Everything they promise is onsite. My family of four enjoyed the happy people (both staff and guests)everywhere. 2019 is our next target visit.

Canto Del Sol: This was more than 4 star

It was clean and the staff were so friendly, the food was very good The washrooms were clean and service was prompt and frequent Dislikes were smoking in restaurants and eating areas and too many vendors on the beach I do understand both but still annoying

Samba Vallarta: Samba Vallarta

The pools were great, beautiful grounds, great beach with easy access. Great outdoor games area with pool tables, foosball, etc. The food was very good. There was plenty of choices buffet style, an excellent breakfast egg bar, and the 2 restaurants (Italian & Mexican) were very good as well. The service everywhere was excellent. (Cleaning staff, bartenders, and dining area staff.) The rooms were musty and humid despite the air conditioning. Bathrooms are dated, but were clean and perfectly functional. Overall the rooms were good enough. The resort is remote. We took a cab ride to Bucerias (12 minutes/$7.US). Puerto Vallarta is further. There is a great market in La Cruz (past Bucerias) on Sundays. Overall it was a very enjoyable week!

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Wonderful Resort

We booked this resort mainly based on the ratings we read on Tripadvisor and we found the statements to be true. It is an older resort but very well maintained and upgraded and the staff were terrific. We have never considered buying a "time share" but we decided to listen to the presentation at the resort about the Fiesta Americana Vacation Club. There was no pressure and the staff that presented it to us were very professional and pleasant.
