Playa Vista Azul: Excellent Resort

Great resort. Clean and great staff. Great beaches. Food was OK, typical of Cuba. Only thing i’d like to see is that the a la carte meals should go by reservations. Line ups were long and there were no guarantees you’d get in by the time they closed. You were often bumped to the back of the line by “privilege guests”. Other than that, awesome resort.

Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort

Although there are still growing g pains with this new resort we had a wonderful week. Food was good, rooms were spacious and modern, lazy river was an extra treat! Would go back to this resort is a few years to see how far it has come along.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Punta Cana 2019

This was our 6th year in a row at this resort. We arrived before 3 pm and were told our room was not ready, no issue. We checked again at 3 pm and were told the people in our room were staying 1 other day and we could move into it the next day. They gave us another room and rather then moving again we decided to stay in that room. They should have known that when we first checked in at about 1:30 pm. Housekeeping did not clean our room 2 days in a row and for some reason we asked them to le [... read more]ave 4 bottles of beer in the fridge and it took her 3 days to figure that out. Breakfast and dinner were great at the buffet, thanks to Frank our waiter. Lunch at beach restaurant was ok but they lacked waiters, slow to get water and beer. Bienvenuedo and Yohan were great bartenders at the pool and the waitresses, Noella, Raquel, and Eliana were extremely nice. Entertainment at the pool was great, especially the band on Apil 8th. Lobby bartenders were great, Edwin, Sexy Black, Martires, Francisco, Raphael, they are all very polite, pleasant and you can speak and joke with them. The waitresses were very pleasant, cannot recalled all their names. The entertainment at the lobby was fantastic, karaoke, singers, dancers. The tenors were fantastic April 7th. Beside the room and the American high school students and their chaperons who have no respect for all the others at the pool and lobby area, this resort is above average. I wish the hotel would acknowledge guests who have been there many time, you would think when they enter the name of a guest when they reserved, an icon would pop up and tell the hotel staff that this guest has been there before.

Ocean El Faro: Enjoyed our stay

My husband and I were at Ocean El Faro from March 29-April 5th and had a wonderful stay. The main lobby is breathtaking, the room was beautiful as well, bed was super comfy, I would trade with my own bed in a heart beat. We had large patio with a jacuzzi tub facing the privileged pool. I had a great view looking at the lighthouse. We did the buffet, blue moon, Japanese, Italian, steakhouse and Privileged Restaurant for breakfast. The steakhouse was definitely our favorite, ate there 3 t [... read more]imes. The flank steak was absolutely delicious! The beach was nice and small, but the water was very choppy. We hung out mostly at the privileged pool which was fine with us. Met some wonderful people there. Everywhere we went we were greeted with a smile, staff was friendly. Only thing we did not enjoy was the H10 people who was constantly trying to get you to go to those timeshare meetings. Overall it was a great experience for us, we relaxed the whole week and this resort will be beautiful once all the construction is complete.

The hotel is great looking when you arrive to the openness to c through to the restaurants and the bar in the middle with seating every where around it what a great feeling .the staff in the restaurant are friendly but the main buffet avoid the women chief they are rude and slow .the buffet on the water is nice great view of the water the thing we notice the beach is getting small and they added more big sand bags to help the beach from not disappearing the rooms are clean and the maid service i [... read more]s good you ask for something they are gladly to help you out the landscape is well kept by the maintenance people.

Overall we were happy with the resort. The layout was nice other than the quiet pool should have been further from the party pool. Party pool was very loud in the afternoon! Our view from the third floor in building nine was great. I could see both pools and the waves at the beach. The room was nothing fancy but very clean and housekeeping was great and fridge was always well stocked. The food was really good. I pick this resort because it said no spring break groups as we were going on a couples trip without our three teenagers. Well half of Michigan, Minnesota and Deleware were there on spring break and obviously part of large groups. I must say everyone was well behaved and very nice and polite, but it wasn't exactly the atmosphere we were going for. We also paid extra for the sapphire club with air transat. The direct transfer between the hotel and airport was great and worked as it should. We did not get a welcome drink or cool towel. We did not get our resort credits. I had to ask for them the next day when I realized they were not in the room and we got in late. I also had to ask for our slippers and robes and beach towels which were supposed to be in the room. We didn't receive these for another day. Three days into our trip I decided to use the nice jacuzzi tub after a long excursion only to find that there was no plug for the tub. I asked twice at the front desk for a plug but never did get one so I missed out on that feature. I would also suggest that the resort look into a dedicated room service menu. It was very hard to understand the person who answered the phone and twice tried to tell me what was avaliable that day. We just went with the cheeseburgers. The beach is in a very rough state. I was prepared for that by the reviews I read before going but it was really worst than I imagined it would be. Not a big deal for us but if the beach is important to you than this is not the resort for you. The vendors that are allowed onsite during certain days were very aggressive, not as much in other shopping areas, but I really did not appreciate being grabbed and pulled towards a table and not being able to even glance at on object without the vendor trying to bargain with me. I really would have bought more if I had been given time to browse. The drinks were good and the sun was shining so overall it was a good trip. I might stay again if I got a really great deal on the hotel.

The staff and service was great and the resort was always clean and the food was good.The washrooms did not flush in the lobby or pool area very well and the Vendors were there 3 nights and were very demanding.But over all we had a great time and really liked this resort. Thank You.

Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort

This was an amazing well designed resort. The food was outstanding many options from Italian to steakhouse even the buffet had unlimited options. The grounds were beautiful, clean large rooms, the pools wonderful, lazy river was fun, staff very friendly and so many drinks options with brand name alcohol. We travel twice a year and this was one of the nicest hotels we have visited.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort!

Very nice resort, the layout is great, very clean, the rooms are large- love the adults only section, service is fantastic and staff are very friendly- entertainment team goes out of their way with all day long entertainment and nightly shows. one small remark however is the choice of music at the Elbeso adults only section could be changed as the rap and hip hop get on your nerves after a while... just my opinion

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful resort

Staff were really nice, beach was amazing though hidden coral was treacherous. Lobby bar was 24/7 and night life was amazing! Everything was walking distance with multiple pool bars to choose from. As for food options- breakfast was your best meal of the day. All in all great resort

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: great resort

was a large place lots walking, food was good but bathrooms needed lots work and ran out of water one night.1/2 hour o so.beaches were a mess too much sea weed washed up and was there all week.stunk of sea weed.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort for kids!

The water park area and pool was great for kids. Same with the staff at the kids clubs. Resorts was beautiful and lots to do for all ages. Clean grounds and rooms. Staff was very friendly. We would recommend this place for families.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Loved the small resort vibe !

Airport : Santa Clara : The airport seemed to be too small to accommodate the volume of people. There was a bit of confusion regarding the bus we were to board and the bank exchange at the airport would not exchange my husbands two 50 dollar bills into cuban CUC's ( tourist money ) Fortunately we were able to get money exchanged at the resort. ( Which we used for tipping ) Resort: The room was a little worn was showing its age but was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The walk in closet [... read more] was a nice feature as was the outdoor shower which we just "loved". Food: Breakfast and lunch was very good and there was variety... the best lunch served was the "Cuban" lunch it was one of the best meals I had at the resort. There was also a wood burning oven near the pool that served excellent pizza, along with burgers and hotdogs. Dinner was a bit of a challenge with only 2 a la carte restaurants ...but Leidi and Yanislei were very accommodating at the Los Canibes Restaurant. Cafe: We would gather in evening for the entertainment which was very good. Yamisela at the cafe was very friendly and eager to please. Beach: The resort has 3 beaches which were amazing... the Sunset beach the water was very calm ... the middle beach had waves was swimmable and you can also get snorkelling equipment for the ocean water life. The third beach was long and was great for our morning walks. Overall it was our first time at an all adults resort... we loved the small resort vibe...all the staff were very pleasant and eager to please. We would defiantly go back !

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful resort

My daughter and I went Ocean Casa Del Mar March 29th until April 5th. We had an amazing time. We were in building 12 and had an ocean view which we didn't request. It was right beside the walkway to the beach. Near the pool and a short walk to the main building. Room was clean everyday. We did not starve but by the end of week we were tired of the same buffet food. Beach was beautiful. The seaweed was left on the beach for environmental reasons. Ocean Maya Royale: Fantastic Resort - Will return!

We had a fantastic time at the Ocean Maya Royale. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were given top service. My brother and sister-in-law decided to join us at the last minute and we asked for rooms nearby each other. In a matter of minutes, we were taken to our new rooms next door to each other. One week of great food (all restaurants were amazing) and the buffet where we had breakfast and lunch were very good. No complaints at all. All was fresh, made to order and we were given s [... read more]miling service by all. Pools were clean and we especially enjoyed the foam party at the big pool. When we wanted to relax, we went to the smaller pool. Everything is close, so if you are looking for a small resort -- this is the one for you. No need for trolleys as everything is within walking distance. We also enjoyed the entertainment and the beach party. The only downside was the seaweed on the beach. The staff worked tirelessly to clean it up. The hotel staff were very friendly and I can't say more about this resort except -- we will be back again!!! Thank you Ocean Maya Royale.

Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro

This is a beautiful resort built on a not so beautiful beach! Our room was beautiful, probably one of the nicest we have stayed in. We had a balcony on the third floor overlooking the pools. There are three pools and a children’s water slide play area. All are very well kept and very clean. There is also a lazy river which was fun. There is work in progress and everyone is trying very hard to please. The casino is a disappointment, 6 or 7 very old machines, visited only once. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Fantastic Vacation

It was very clean and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The head chief took excellent care of our traveler with a no grain diet. The pool crew were read to give a hand with umbrella's and moving the chairs into the shade. the staff really remember faces. As someone with an onion allergy, the pasta stand got my meal ready as soon as it was my turn without asking. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Amazing Time!

My fiancé and I stayed at this resort from March 28-April 4th, 2019. We flew with Air Transat. Our flight was good! Then we got onto the 2 hour bus ride which the host made fun and thank goodness for the Crystal Beer! Once we arrived check in was very fast and the lady was very friendly and accommodating! We stayed in building 2 which was right by the snack bar and the left pool. Our room was very nice and modern, never have I ever seen a rain shower in Cuba! It was beautiful! Food was actually the best I’ve had in all of Cuba, we ate at the buffet for most breakfasts and dinners and the pool snack bar and beach snack bar for lunch. We loved the grilled chicken and rice they had at the beach. Those ladies work hard behind that grill! Snack bar lunches were good! We mostly had chicken legs, chicken salad, or hamburgers. We had 2 a la carted, Italian was absolutely delicious! Origami (Japanese) was alright! Suppers at the buffet were good if you got the food made infront of you, and depending on the time you went you may have had to wait in a long line. Totally worth the wait though. We stuck to the pastas and rice, so delicious. I also enjoyed how they sat you at meals so you didn’t have to search for tables. Some nights had entertainment in the buffet, the music in Cuba surpasses any music here in Canada, so talented! There was always music playing after supper in the lobby bar! Everyone was dancing and having a good time. The lobby bar was quite the happening place at night time! The one bartender Ernesto we loved! Always took the time to say hello to us and give us a hug! The entertainment was also amazing, those dancers work hard and you could tell! We made it to almost all the shows! Our favourite was the Disney show and the interactive men vs women show. The pool was beautiful and clean, just the right temp. Pool bar had great drinks! Beach was an absolute dream! We had amazing weather, only a few windy days which made for fun waves! Amazing blue waters. We did the hoby cat twice, we loved it!! The Cubans really do love what they do! Grounds are kept beautifully! We did the catamaran excursion on Sunday! Such a fun time! Worth the money! You get to snorkel, go to a beach, and see dolphins with lunch! Overall it was a great trip! Would recommend this resort to my friends and family!!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Luxury escape

Never been to a resort that had so much wildlife onsite. It was amazing. The food was incredible. Lots of variety and tons of it. Also, the resort was exceptionally clean and the staff were attentive and polite. The beach was raked every night and workers even loaded seaweed into wheelbarrows to cart away. The location was extremely secure and was surrounded with other resorts. Never felt uncomfortable.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very family friendly resort

We were travelling with our 3 young kids (4,2,infant) and the resort was great for our 4 & 2yr old. They loved the splash park and the service around the pool was great. The boys enjoyed the nightly entertainment events as it was nice that they had stuff geared towards the kids. They absolutely loved the ice cream shop and their best friend Karen who always served them up with a smile. There was plenty of food choices which made it easy but we didn't really have a chance to partake in the a  [... read more]la carte offerings. Wait times were long in some cases and we can't wait around with little ones. Sakura was also a task with a very long wait line for reservations..needless to say we didn't go there. We found the beach to be rocky so we ended up more around the pool with the kids. We did find the service to be a little slow in the buffet where we did most of our eating.
