Riu Tequila: Beautiful Resort
This was our first trip to Mexico in 30 years. We didn’t know what to expect especially after COVID.The resort is well maintained ,extremely clean and well layed out.The fact it’s located in a secure gated community was an extra measure of comfort and it’s a 20 minute walk to main Shopping Area(5thAve). There are 3 restaurants with no reservations required as well as a buffet and all in all the food was good especially breakfast. Lunch was also available near the pool area serviced by a b [... read more]
Riu Palace Aruba: riu palace
Food selection and quality was excellent. Staff very helpful and accommodating. The resort needs some renovations as it seemed a bit worn down. Also they need to manage the reservations of umbrellas by pool and beach better. Too many unused lounges wth reserved towels. Entertainment by pool was good but could use a bit of quiet time in afternoon
Riu Dunamar: January Stay
The Grounds were kept really well. The beach suffered from a lot of seaweed. The weather was windy, and as a result the beach had pretty high waves most of our trip (but that's not within the resort's control obviously). The loungers by the beach were always pretty readily accessible which was nice. The room was okay, the pillows were definitely really thin (if you require a good pillow, I recommend brining one with you). The in room bar was stocked every other day. The couches in the room showe [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: I think we must have been here too many times - 3
This resort failed this time with the customer service at the meals. For breakfast I waited over 10 minutes to let the server know that I would like water. I also had to flag her down, she didn't come see me. Then another table asked her for something. After that she went to a table to clear the dishes and she was throwing the silverware on the plates and shoved a chair into the table with aggression. There were a couple of other incidents that made me less impressed with the resort. I am [... read more]
Riu Republica: So disappointed...
- No lifeguard that I could see Beach is not cleaned enough Dryer broken UsB plugs not working Couch is worn out Hook is broken No bathrobe Very slow wifi (spotty at best) Not enough English channels on TV Plenty of chairs on beach but no staff cleaning up nor bartender Beach kiosk for food No towels starting at midweek. Every time I went, I was asked to come back in an hour My room key stopped working 3 times and each time; they couldn't even muster up the strength to say "I'm sorr [... read more]
Riu Playa Blanca: Great Resort Second Time in 3 years
The hotel was well maintained and staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and well appointed. Shower is excellent. Grounds are looked after daily and beautiful foliage everywhere. 4 Pools available and directly on the beach Ample choices at buffet and there are 3 specialty restaurants. Entertainment needs to be upgraded as same shows as three years ago, but some are more entertaining than others. All in all great weather and good time was had by all!
Riu Palace Macao: Wonderful Staff
The staff were amazing! Friendly, humorous, and willing to go above and beyond to make us happy. The food was good. Everything was clean, although the resort is a bit older. They could use additional beach/pool chairs and a bit more flexibility with the towels.
Riu Yucatan: Second Time
Second time here. We really enjoy the resort. Quiet and well maintained. Food is good and plentiful. Staff is great. Beaches kept spotless. We will return again and would highly recommend Rui Yucatan.
Riu Reggae: What FUN!!
Riu Reggae did not disappoint, the resort was a blast of fun from the time we walked in to the time we left Hotel is amazingly clean, the food was great (honestly the buffet was always full of many different delicacies) Beach is kinda small for the people that would like to do long beach walks but the pools were always fun and entertaining Definitely not a place if you want total quiet, there are quieter areas but for the most part very vibrant and hopping Met some great people, thank you Ri [... read more]
Riu Palace Costa Rica: First Class Resort
Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Leaving the beachfront steak restaurant to return to the main hotel building the footpaths were not well lit; difficult to see steps/obstructions. More lighting needed. More hand rails on stairs/steps. Usually only one central rail except on the main staircase where it was only on one side. I’m a senior, having had two knee replacement surgeries. The hotel is very modern in decor and furniture with plenty of bars, restaurants and snack bars. I [... read more]
Riu Reggae: Not ideal
Not ideal for a younger crowd. Beach was very small and was constantly full of salesmen in their boats. Otherwise hotel was small but clean, staff were friendly. The buffet was the best meal(s) available out of all of the restaurants. Planes fly overhead and it’s extremely loud and disruptive all day. Also view from the room balcony was of a barbed wire fence encircling the hotel which would be fine if it weren’t for the men on the opposite side constantly calling out trying to make sales an [... read more]
Riu Bambu: Like a 3 star cuba resort.
Bad service, rooms smelling from the shower drain, everything old in the room. People bothering you all day at the beach selling drugs. The staff not friendly. No water to buy anywhere and no bottled water in bars or lobby. They put people with kids in strollers on higher floors with no elevators and ask for 80 dollar a day bribe to change to first floor. Most people in group got some sort of stomach problems…
Riu Santa Fe: Nice Resort
We were charged $471.52 pesos for taxes upon check in. We booked AI, no taxes should be payable at resort. Fire Alarms woke us up 6 times in 2 weeks. No Fire. Sunwing Rep refers to Reception for everything. Local Bus driver attacked at Bus stop while we were passengers. No pillow cases - just pillow protectors after room cleaned. Condensation running down patio doors most mornings. Temperature in room 21.5.
Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Still great. Riu palace is always my favourite.
This is a great resort and it’s my 3rd or 4th time here. First time back since dec 2019. Nothing has suffered during the down time of Covid. The food is still good, the restaurants still had great service. The grounds and cleanliness are still top notch. I don’t think they have a mask policy as I didn’t notice 100% of staff with masks. Some food servers did, but I think that may a general food handling requirement. Certainly not for Covid though. This has got a great beach to [... read more]
Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing resort and country! Horrible trip central experience!
Nicole did not respond to any of our post booking requests. She was called and emailed at least 8 times by our party of 4 women. This added much stress!! We had to research way too much to find some of the answers ourselves and still showed up at the airport not knowing if we would have problems. The hotel was lovely but needs more stair railings and outside lighting. The people were super.
Riu Vallarta: Riu Vallarta Jan 2023
Great value for money. Great food with many options. Lots of activities day and night. Service was fair not great but like Canada they probably don't have enough staff. Liquor is crappy but that is due to price point it is not a high end resort. Awesome for families. So for couples I would prob choose elsewhere with better booze and service but for groups and families its great and awesome value
Riu Palace Costa Rica: We loved this resort!
We enjoyed our stay at Riu Palace Costa Rica. The rooms were clean, modern and roomy. The grounds were well maintained and there were plenty of options for swimming - several pools, a water park and the beach. The beach, however, was rough with a strong undertow and the sand was grey in colour. There were plenty of loungers around the pool - we never had to get up early to put our towels on them to reserve. The staff were cheerful and ready to help and serve us. The Steakhouse was amazing! Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great resort, amazing beach
The hotel was great - recently updated, clean and comfortable with good facilities and an amazing beach. The hotel has the best location on the beach - gentle slope into the sea, no seaweed or rocks. All of the staff were great - very friendly and helpful, from arrival to departure - reception, bars, restaurants, housekeeping, gardeners, etc. Special recognition goes to the buffet restaurant staff - they were excellent, and very accommodating of my serious food allergies. Every meal [... read more]
Riu Negril: 3.8 stars overall
First all inclusive in 3 years, and it was exactly what we needed. 1) Beach was mediocre. Lots of seating, which was great. The waters were calm as its more of a bay, but the bottom of the bay felt sludge-y on the feet. Cute fish were seen and a 2ft shark. 2) A few pools to chose from, which was nice if you wanted a non-busy pool. 3) Food was good, lots of variation every day during lunch and dinner. We weren't overly impressed with the à la carte. It was first come first serve basis. 4) Entert [... read more]
Riu Naiboa: very clean--excellent staff
